Master Tanning Sales and Service Incomplete refund

The company refused to issue a complete refund despite canceling my order within hours. They were flippant and rude about the issue. After receiving this kind of treatment from them I researched more into their reputation. Master Tanning/Wolff Tanning company has hundreds of negative reviews on various sites. I'm not the only person who has suffered a financial loss due to their practices.
This company also falsely displays the BBB logo and states they are A+ accredited. This is a complete fabrication - they are not accredited and actually have a score of an F.

Master Tanning Sales and Service 2017 sunfire 24 deluxe tanning bed

The 2017 Sunfire 24 deluxe tanning bed only opens up 18 1/2". This does not give a average person enough room to enter the bed. The 2016 model (same tanning bed) opens up 25 3/4" giving a person plenty of entering room. I called Master tanning (where bed was purchased) and their reply was that the lift shocks or cylinder (to lift top canopy) that came on the 2016 bed had been discontinued and the 2017 model bed had the new lift shocks or cylinder (to lift top canopy) that undoubtedly was check by very small person in quality control to get the new lift shocks or cylinder (to lift top canopy) approved for the 2017 bed. Instead of having approved lift cylinder substitute, comparable to one that that came on the 2016 bed (that worked very well giving enough rough to get in and out) they released a model that should be recalled. I hope all that have purchased this 2017 Sunfire 24 deluxe tanning bed reads this and also makes a complaint and maybe Master Tanning will start taking care of their customers better and maybe start testing their products with a normal size person before it is released. The following pictures show the sunfire bed and 2017 bed at 18 1/2" and the 2016 bed opened at 25 3/4" and then the 2016 bed fully opened (showing the amount of space to enter the bed.
The bed was purchased in 3/8/2017. Customer name Alton Jones.
New lift cylinders or shocks to lift canopy to reasonable entering and exiting height would solve this issue.

Master Tanning Sales and Service Tanning bed

This company is a fraud ! They sell beds that don't look anything like what is on their website . They sold me a bed with a WIRE MESH top, no acrylic . It is a dangerous hazard . I was never told it had wire mesh . It was also suppose to have red lamps, and it did not, They also only answer sale calls not customer service . DO not BUY from this company they have a ton of bad reviews . Go to a reputable company . RUN from these cheaply made products

Master tanning has worked hard to correct everything and my dispute was unfounded, They have even gone above and beyond to satisfy me in my misunderstanding

Master Tanning Sales and Service Warning: master tanning .com , wolfftanningbed.com , dangerous and terrible product has caused serious injuries to me and company is just as bad.

Bought a Wolff Sunfire 24 lamp tanning bed from
Wolfftanningbed.com or Master Tanning depending on whichever name they choose
to use I guess. My first clue should have been when the salesmen told me all
the competitors product was terrible and theirs was great. He told me they had been making tanning beds
for over 20 years. I had heard of Wolff and assumed that it was a great quality
name and product so I believed although I have been burned before on internet
deals I figured I could charge back my credit card if something was not
correct.

What I got next was not something anyone could be prepared
for. Serious problem and serious complaint that they cared nothing about! I
used the tanning bed a few times and went exactly by the recommended schedule
so I did not get burned as the tanning bed was for me and my girlfriend to
prepare for a upcoming vacation. The 4th time I used the tanning bed
I set it for 9 minutes. I fell asleep before the unit cut off and I woke up
over 1 hour later and the tanning bed was still on! I still do not know
how this happened. Clearly there was some time of malfunction on the tanning
bed timer so I emailed the company to tell them what had happened. Below is
their response to me exactly as I will copy and paste:

The time exposure needs to be followed correctly. If you have a
possibility to burn at all, you need to follow the light skin (no base tan)
part of the exposure schedule. This states when starting out, you need to tan
for a MAXIMUM OF 3 MINUTES. If you have sensitive skin, it is not recommended
to tan at all. It sounds like you didn't follow the time exposure correctly
which has been the same for the past 27 years per Indoor Tanning Regulations.
It is the responsibility of the user to make sure they follow the instructions
and exposure schedule...

Yes that
is a companies response when they send someone to the hospital! I have second
degree burns on my body and now I cannot function to do even the simplest task.
Cannot sleep, cannot work, can hardly move, I have had to see a specialist and
I am undergoing test to see how deep the tissue damage is. This is honestly the MOST PAIN I have ever experienced in my life! Needless
to see I cant go on vacation, all this because of a tanning bed that is not
safe! How can a tanning bed stay on for over 1 hour, who knows what would have
happened if I did not wake up when I did as I assume I would be dead! Sunfire
tanning beds are DANGEROUS as I am here to warn you! Wolfftanningbed.com and
Master Tanning are just as bad!

So I
contacted a lawyer after the response from Master Tanning and
wolfftanningbed.com and I at least now no my options here. I have started now
to dig deeper and found even more concerning things.

The
company has NOT been making tanning beds for 20 years as Sunfire was just
registered in NC in 2013 and in fact they have been making tanning beds for
less than 1 year! They straight up lied to me and I have the emails to prove
this! I would have NEVER bought a tanning bed from a company that has been
making them less than 1 year as I have no interest in being a guinea pig!

Also this
tanning bed is NOT EVEN UL approved or at least I cannot find a UL approval on
any website nor does the unit have any marking on it stating it is. I work in
the stamping machine business and ANY product manufactured with electronics of
safety involved is suppose to be UL approved before introducing it to market.
Things like what happened to me are the PRIME REASON! I’m guessing this
company doesn’t even have insurance to cover what they have done to me as I
asked that with no response at all from them. I assure you I am filing the
largest lawsuit possible to recover everything they have and I only hope that I
can prevent this from happening to other people. THEY NEVER EVEN APOLOGIZED or
acknowledged they did anything wrong as you can see from the above email! I
did get a email from a random customer service asking me about my experience
like it was no big deal!

I am
freaking basically immobile because of these IDIOTS inability to make a safe
product and their dishonesty sales tactics to get me to buy it! No wonder they
were cheaper than anyone else and to make matters worse I cut my hand twice
while assembling the piece of crap as it’s a absolute horrible design and looks
nothing like the photo. The stupid tanning bed will not even stay shut as the
struts holding it make it pop right back up but I guess that was a good thing
considering what happened to me or it would be worse!

My hope
is to litigate against them to the fullest extent as the attorney does see this
as a great case but I didn’t have the time nor desire to enter into this type
of issue in my life but now that I am I assure you that I will make these
people pay dearly for what they done to me and I will continue to dig deeply
and find other stuff as by looking at this companies BBB complaints I appear to
be one of many who have had issues with them so I am hoping to reach out to
others!

I will
post this on every forum I can find and notify the attorney general, consumer
affairs, and any other governmental agency I can think of.

STAY AWAY PLEASE from MASTER TANNING and
WOLFFTANNINGBED.com and Sunfire tanning beds or any other alias they use to lie
and get you to buy their piece of crap tanning beds
