I mistakenly thought I was getting information directly from the MA Health Connector
I mistakenly thought I was getting information directly from the MA Health Connector. Now I am getting a call from offshore reps for quotes. I didn't ask for this and I am telling all of them to take my number off. When I do they hang up on me! I have contacted the MA Ins Commissioner's office and will file a claim. STOP Harassing me.

I thought I was clicking on a government link for health insurance because it was .org but it turned out to be this terrible company. I've received endless calls for the last 2 days and one of the phone reps sexually harassed me. I contacted "Quotelab" via their website contact form to let them know and asked to be removed from their lists, but the damage has already been done. I'm also *** at Google for not checking the ads from this business and allowing them to run ads.
I inadvertently went to Obamacareplans.com thinking it was the government site to get a quote for healthcare. They apparently gave my information to advertisers and since May 7, I have received 77 calls from various numbers asking about buying healthcare. When I told them I was getting too many calls, they hung up on me. I called one back and asked to put me on the do-not-call list and they hung up on me. I'm tired of being HARASSED and it needs to stop. Once I block a number, I get calls from new numbers. When I try to call some of them back, it says it's not a working number. It's a horrible cycle that can't be broken! I don't recall agreeing to sell my personal information! This is a horrible, scam company that will pass *** personal information around and you will get NON-STOP phone calls starting early morning to early evening with no way to be put on a do-not-call list. I also received an email from Quotelabs indicating they contacted the advertisers and told them to stop calling me. LIE. There was never a decrease in phone calls. I continue to get several, daily calls. It's a nightmare and they need to be put out of business because they are harassing consumers! I'm going to start filing complaints with the government agencies against this company if these *** calls don't stop. Jerks!
"MediaAlpha, Inc. is a marketing technology company that helps insurance carriers and distributors target and acquire customers more efficiently and at greater scale through technology and data science." From my experience, they try to acquire customers more efficiently thru misrepresentation and shady tactics. I accidentally sent them my information after a long day at work and immediately realized the mistake I made after I kept getting phone calls the rest of the night. No tact. They spammed my phone, my email, and my texts and am now having to change my number. I can't believe that this company is publicly traded. What a travesty. Data science, yeah right!
Used healthinsuranceusa.org to see if I can get quote for health insurance. After entering the information it gave me a list of websites rather than any quote. Then I received a flood of calls - 20 calls in one hour. I am not sure how to remove my number from their list. Anyone knows about it please help. I am requesting healthinsuranceusa.org to stop this bad practice and get a clear specific consent from the user. This is good for their business and in fact good ratings will drive their traffic higher which will lead to health-carriers approaching them and pay for marketing.
Their company name Obamacare-plans is obviously intended to fool people into believing they are part of a government program. Although they have fine print pointing out that they're actually a private company, I did not initially realize that and foolishly filled out an online questionnaire on their website to see if I would be eligible for Medicaid. I IMMEDIATELY started receiving phone calls from them that originated from various states -- all of the callers saying they were calling in response to my request for a quote. (I had NOT requested a quote, I had simply filled out their online form which they purported would simply tell me if I was eligible for Medicaid.) In the past hour, I have received more than 15 telephone calls from them. My phone is now ringing again! MAKE THIS MADNESS STOP!

Firstly, I would just like to say it was my mistake to give a site my email and phone number without verifying first, but I was naive and thought that the site looked credible. I also thought that what I would be receiving would be a compiled list of estimates from various insurance companies and then email it to me. However, that was not the case at all. Since then I have been HARASSED by various insurance companies, spamming me with NON-STOP calls and texts! I have tried various ways to get my information removed and to get in contact with the company, hoping to speak to an actual person, but have not been able to reach anyone. The HARASSMENT I am receiving from multiple insurance companies is NOT OK! Do not give them your information! Tip for consumers: THEY WILL SELL YOUR INFORMATION TO INSURANCE COMPANIES THAT WILL HARASS YOU!
I accidentally submitted information to MediaAlpha's Obama-careplans.com site in hopes of finding a new healthcare plan following the fallout of COVID-19. Now, I am receiving call after call all day long. It is constant harassment. I want my information to be deleted and I have submitted several requests for doing so, but I am not a California or Nevada resident. This company prays on people who need heath insurance in a time of need by creating a website that appears credible, collecting data, and selling it to hundreds of third-party companies that will call you hundreds of times each day.
You guys are complete HORRIBLE!
You guys are complete HORRIBLE! I have gotten 14 a days for the last 3 days. I have told 5 people there to take me off the listed now and they just hang up. I call back and all they do is hang out. It is completely crazy what they are doing! How much money are you paying to be the first company listed when doing a google search! Your company should be appalled by the way your employees are working! They are horrible humans! I'm a mother wife and full time working mom trying to look at my other choose out there and your company has taken full advantage of that! I hope your company get SHUT DOWN! If I could a HORRIBLE rating I would!

This company operates masshealthplans.com among others and due to google's horrible ad policies it is the first website that comes up when googling 'mass health'. I accidentally gave my information yesterday and now I have about 20 phone calls all from different numbers just from today. When calling back, if you ask to be taken off a calling list you are immediately hung up on or you are told you haven't been getting calls and then hung up on. This company needs to be shut down ASAP. It's pathetic to prey on Americans who need full coverage healthcare by offering expensive partial coverage garbage generated by your call center scammers. If you are such a legitimate company then why not simply call from one phone number using one call center drone? You probably have a bunch of commission-only contractors working on the same leads so you don't have to pay them much huh? Pathetic. Hopefully you scumbags can understand I don't need health coverage from you and move on. Stop calling me.
I have received 27 calls in the last 4 1/2 hours -- for some perspective, that's a call every 10 minutes for half a work day
I have received 27 calls in the last 4 1/2 hours -- for some perspective, that's a call every 10 minutes for half a work day. When I ask to be removed from the calling list during these calls, I am hung up on (without confirmation) and continue to receive calls from those numbers. I've been blocking the numbers that are making these calls, but new numbers continue to come through (at a truly baffling rate). MediaAlpha seems to indicate in their numerous responses here that it is other companies who are treating their users poorly, but if you try to call them directly, their own support line also hangs up on you when you select the option for "all other inquiries."

I too got duped today, much like the other posters here. I felt rushed to get some quotes on healthcare due to an approaching deadline from my new employer, and ended up giving away my information to this shady information gathering website. Obamacareplans.com also pays for Google searches to post its ad at the top of search results, which I should have taken to be a red flag immediately. Within seconds of entering my phone number, I became inundated with ceaseless phone calls. I've begun answering some and asking them not to contact me anymore. I also left feedback on obamacareplans.com, first under the category "Do Not Contact Me" and again left General Feedback explaining that I find what they do disgusting, and that if contact didn't cease I would be contacting the ComplaintsBoard.com. Contact slowed but has not ceased. I've blocked over 20 callers in the last 3 hours. I also asked them not to keep or sell my information, but it's probably too late for that. Like others, I also started using the word "harassment" to get through to these callers, because it is indeed harassment at this point. Yes it's my fault that I was tricked, but why any business in its right mind would find this kind of endless call spamming acceptable is beyond me. They know what they're doing, despite what that "Media Alpha" goober below said last year on behalf of the website.

So I’m trying to get health insurance because it’s almost the 15th and the company first called me once… and I realized it wasn’t a reliable company because it came from a random number in Cuba NY, there were then tens of more calls from Wyoming and more from Cuba, I’m trying to stay calm but this is completely unacceptable and I think illegal, I gave them information and they are abusing it, all from a catfish thinking I was going to get insurance help.
Claimed loss: Mental health I’m getting spammed
Desired outcome: Insurance help

This company is either selling my phone number or refuses to remove me from their call list
This company is either selling my phone number or refuses to remove me from their call list. I've blocked 10 numbers today and continue to get calls from new numbers from within their call center. I've asked three associates to remove me and they refuse to acknowledge my request. I've received 13 calls from their organization within 6 hours.

I've received over 50 harassing calls from MediaAlpha in the last week! I used MediaAlpha's website obamacareplans.com to look for a health insurance plan. Once I filled out some basic info. I was told I'd be receiving a call from a specific number, and I did. The caller asked for the last four of my SSN and my address. I was then connected with an 'insurance salesman' in my area. Right away a red flag came up as the salesperson was extremely pushy asking "why don't you have insurance?" and "if I find you a plan you can afford why wouldn't you buy it?" He then asked why I had moved from the state I most recently moved from. I then hung up. He called back immediately saying "is it weirding you out that I asked you about where you live?" He was then extremely pushy trying to get me to stay on the line. I told him to delete my info. and delete me from all lists. Within 10 minutes they called me 12 times! Within a week they have called me over 50 times! Sometimes people call and hang up right away, other times you can hear laughing in the background, other times they leave me voicemails. I have told them countless times to stop calling and the won't. This is absolutely ridiculous. I want them to stop calling and delete all of my info. as per CCPA regulations.
I entered my phone number online to get health insurance information. This resulted in 40 calls a day and I need it to stop. I've entered my information online as I need to look for new health insurance through the New York State health exchange. The site appears to be a government site but it obviously is not. I am now getting 40 calls a day everyone leaving voicemails and using up all of my voicemail space on my cell phone. I have tried contacting them to delete my information and make these calls stop and there seems to be no way to do it. I desperately need help because I must have my voicemail available for work.

Hung up on me when I reqeusted they delete my data from their systems I feel I was mislead in the way they obtained my information
Hung up on me when I reqeusted they delete my data from their systems I feel I was mislead in the way they obtained my information. They market themselves as obamacare and when I was trying to get a quote I then received two separate phone calls from them. The second phone call ended with me requesting they delete ALL of my data they have on me from their systems. The guy said he could add me to their do not call list. I told him that wasn't good enough I want to receive a confirmation when all of my data they collected is deleted. He then hung up on me. When I tried to call back the phone system said I was put on the do not call list and ended the call.

They sell & give your info to insurance companies. On 9/4 around 10am, I got bombarded 3 emails from State Farm, Geico & Everqoute and an agent who call & text me 4 times about car insurance quotes. Geico said they got my info from their partner, MediaAlpha. According to MediaAlpha site, they claimed we provided our own info but I NEVER provided info about me! How they got my info?! It scary. The next day I did email them & opt out on their site. I will see if that will do anything
