On 2/1/2023, I was diagnosed with an acute liver injury and hospitalized for 4 days. At the time of admission, they were trying to determine the cause of the liver injury by process of ruling out. I started taking the MRC diet supplements in Nov. 2022 and stoped taking them about a week before I was hospitalized. When I was discharged, My liver continue to heal over the next 4 months while I received additional testing. In August, the doctor stated that the cause of the injury was due to the diet supplements that I started in November from Metabolic Research Center. My liver function numbers were in the 6000 range and the Normal levels of ALT (SGPT) ranges from about 7-56 units/liter of serum (the liquid part of the blood), Normal levels of AST (SGOT) is about 5-40 units/liter of serum. My bilirubin hit a high of 17.9. The hospital and other doctors involved ran a bunch of tests including a liver biopsy. I experienced nausea, vomiting, extreme fatigue, jaundice, urinary burning and bowel discoloration and consistency of clay. I am filing this complaint to make you and other consumers aware. This experience was physically and emotionally traumatic. I have also filed a complaint with the FDA. I understand that the FDA doesn't approve supplements but they can pull them off the shelf. I have also filed a compliant with OR DOJ Consumer department.
