On January 22 we suddenly noticed a flood in the kitchen at 8 am. The dishwasher was not running. We bought the dishwasher in May 2020. And we did not use it much.
We called the plumber and he discovered that the intake hose has a big hole.
Yesterday, the Miele technician appeared. He claims that he never saw a broken intake hose in his life. I find that hard to believe. We have no animals, no mice whatsoever, there is nothing which could have damaged the intake hose.
In Germany Miele dishwashers also have an attachment in the back which prevents flooding. Our dishwasher does not have it.
The technician told me that the hose and the repair would cost $405. I find this outrageous. We had previously an excellent Bosch which served us more than 20 years. I think Miele should pay for the repair and a new hose. It was clearly a faulty hose to begin with. And they should attach the part which prevents flooding.
On top of it I just learned that the intake hose will only arrive in three weeks. I will never buy a Miele dishwasher again.
Claimed loss: $405.00
Desired outcome: Please refund.
