I been charged for service not done in over 3 years
I been charged for service not done in over 3 years. False charges and fraud.
How do you stop them?
How do you stop them? I had My Computer Works fix an email problem for me in September for a total fee of $200. October and November they have charged me $39.95 with absolutely no authorization, and no reason for it. Their Billing Department apparently is non-existent. The only way I know to stop them is to cancel my credit card. Meanwhile, they owe me $79.90.

I had problems with my wife's computer
I had problems with my wife's computer. I paid $109.90 and called for help twice. They never fixed the problems. Unknowingly, I was in a contract for $39.90 per month. They charged my credit card a total of $267.70 over 3 months. I spoke with Roberto in billing, but there seems to be no way to get our money back. My wife had to cancel her card. I'm upset with myself for letting this company access her computer remotely, and I'm upset that they couldn't refund any of our money. Please warn others to be careful.
I talked to this guy named Chauncey and he got all mad when I asked him about the "money back guarantee" on their website
I talked to this guy named Chauncey and he got all mad when I asked him about the "money back guarantee" on their website. He wanted me to give him my credit card before showing me the guarantee. Then, he started arguing with me about personal stuff and transferred me to his boss, ***. But *** didn't even want to listen to my complaint. He just cut me off and said something like, "Honestly...like...Chauncey is a great guy so like..." and I got so annoyed that I hung up. They're so unprofessional! If any of the pros at this company care, I recorded the call and I can totally share it with them.
This company has been takin' money from my Chase credit card for more than two years, even though I told 'em to stop
This company has been takin' money from my Chase credit card for more than two years, even though I told 'em to stop. I ain't interested in doin' business with a company that keeps chargin' my card after they promised to quit. I did what my credit card told me to do and contacted the vendor to stop the charges, and they agreed. They stopped takin' my money for a few months, but then they started again. I argued with 'em and asked *** to block the merchant from gettin' paid. But *** says they can't do that 'cause I already paid 'em before. Now I gotta decide whether to change my account number or let the merchant keep billin' me.
WARNING! WARNING!
WARNING! WARNING! MYCOMPUTERWORKS is a scam, 100%! My mom, who is elderly, wanted her PCs fixed and running. Well, she found mycomputerworks and they quoted her a price of $275, but they charged her $365. First, they wanted her card number before they would even step foot in the door. Mom said she wanted to wait until the job was complete to pay, but they said they couldn't do that. So, they took her card number over the phone. First red flag.
Second red flag, the guy did not show up when he said he would. And when he did, he left my mom's home before the job was complete to run and get parts over 60 miles away. Hmmm. Finally, he comes back and the computer is able to turn on, but this so-called technician lost her roboform. It's there, but no passwords. Hmm, conveniently the passwords are magically gone. In a nutshell, he ran no diagnostics to start. They left my mom with a non-workable desktop PC. And when we call, they quit taking our calls. So, we have to call back from another phone number. And they answer, but next time they won't. Each time we call, we must come up with a new phone number.
This place gets your credit card number, charges you what they feel like charging, not the price they quote you, leaves the job before it's finished, and leaves the PC not fixed. They think they can take advantage of the elderly. No one takes advantage of my mother. Shame on you!
I was almost ready to open a complaint and leave a 1 star review
I was almost ready to open a complaint and leave a 1 star review. But first, some background: I manage IT at a company based in SoCal, but we have home offices across the country, and My Computer Works happened to provide service in the area where we needed it. It was easy enough to schedule the service, and someone showed up on time and solved the issues. They charged the quoted amount to my credit card for the service and everything was fine, except I never got an invoice or receipt for the payment. I then experienced what many others here have commented about: billing-related calls go unanswered, voicemails go unreturned. I tried for a good week to get someone on the phone to send me an invoice and was about to give up and resort to a ComplaintsBoard.com complaint, when finally I got an email Monday morning with the invoice and an apology for the trouble, including a note that mentioned people in the company having to take on other positions (translates to me as layoffs; I've had the exact same experience in my own company). So I figured I would leave a mostly positive review to say that they don't appear to be trying to scam anyone, they are probably understaffed in their office and doing what they can. What matters is they finally did right by me, but for a company of their size, it shouldn't have to be so hard.
I reached out to a company for Ethernet installation but they failed to show up.
On Friday, June 5th this year I reached out to a company for professionals to install an Ethernet drop in my home. I was immediately contacted by 'My Computer Works,' a verified company. We agreed on a price of $137 per hour and a service date of Saturday, June 6th, between noon and 4 pm. However, Saturday passed without any communication from them. Attempts to contact them were unsuccessful. By Monday, June 8th, I finally spoke with someone who promised a dispatcher would reach out, but no one did. On Tuesday morning, I called to cancel the service due to their lack of response and filed a complaint about their poor service. I advised against using their services as they seem indifferent to customer needs. Contact information is available if more details are required.

The problem wasn't fixed like they said it would be when I signed up for their service
The problem wasn't fixed like they said it would be when I signed up for their service. I talked to them on the phone twice and sent them two emails, but the person I spoke to said they would give me a refund and send me an email to confirm it. But that hasn't happened yet.
I reached out to My Computer Works when I had some tech problems after upgrading to ***
I reached out to My Computer Works when I had some tech problems after upgrading to ***. They charged me 227.00 at first. But when they couldn't help me, I called again that same week to ask for a refund. I tried multiple times, but every time I explained why I was calling, they put me on hold and then magically disconnected the call. Today, I noticed another charge of 39.95 on my bank account, which is their monthly fee. I don't want to be a part of that.
I contacted My Computer Works two times, once through email on 4/25 and again approximately a week later using their customer contact form
I contacted My Computer Works two times, once through email on 4/25 and again approximately a week later using their customer contact form on their website to cancel my membership. Unfortunately, I haven't received any response from them. I followed their contract terms to cancel my membership and now I'm seeking a refund for any charges made after 5/1. Additionally, I would appreciate written confirmation that they have terminated my contract and will not impose any penalty fees, considering their failure to adhere to their own contract termination rules.

On April 24, I reached out to My Computer Works Inc
On April 24, I reached out to My Computer Works Inc. because I had a problem with my email account. A guy named Ryan got in touch with me and explained that I would be charged a one-time fee of $109.90. This fee covered the setup cost of $69.95 and the first month of service for $39.95. They made it clear that this wasn't a contract and that most customers tend to cancel the service after three or four months.
On May 6, I filled out a form on the company's website to request the cancellation of my service. Unfortunately, nobody from the company reached out to me regarding my request. To my surprise, I was charged $39.95 on June 25. I really want this company to cancel my service and stop charging my debit card every month.
I tried to hire My Computer Works to install network cabling at my home/office
I tried to hire My Computer Works to install network cabling at my home/office. They asked for my credit card upfront, which I provided. A technician came to my home, took some photos, and said he'd be right back. He left, and I never heard from the company again. Few days later, a charge for *** appeared on my credit card statement. I disputed the charge, and it's still in process. They showed Chase fraudulent documents, claiming I signed them. I never saw these documents. They even filled in the document, saying they provided excellent service. This is outright fraud. They shouldn't be allowed to do business. It's criminal to fraudulently sign someone else's signature. They didn't do any of the work I hired them for. I hope others see this before hiring them.
I contacted My Computer Works to get my computer checked out
I contacted My Computer Works to get my computer checked out. They said a tech would come between *** on December 30. I tried reaching out to them multiple times when the tech didn't show up. They said he was on his way. Around 11:30am, I called the 2 numbers they gave me and had to leave messages because no one answered. I left several messages and around 1pm, I tried canceling the tech since I had to leave. Again, no one responded, so I left numerous messages canceling the tech. The tech arrived around 2pm, and I told him I wasn't in the office anymore and didn't need their service because I don't trust their company due to their lack of consideration and respect. I also told him I won't pay the *** cancellation fee because it was entirely their fault. They charged me $117.00, which was their hourly fee! I still can't reach anyone, and I want my card refunded the $117.00. They were not only extremely unprofessional but also stole from my company.
I'm having trouble with a billing problem
I'm having trouble with a billing problem. I asked the tech at My Computer Works if they support Macintosh computers in either November or December , and he said yes. We didn't request to set up the account for the Macintosh or receive any emails or letters confirming that we wanted it or that they added a second computer. They've been charging us for two computers since that phone call in (November or December ). We should have paid more attention to the credit card statements throughout the year. In 2020, we didn't call My Computer Works for support on the second computer (Macintosh), so that means we didn't know we had or signed up for computer support. We called and talked to someone about the excessive charges. He said he would call us back or that someone in the billing department would get in touch. That was almost a month ago. We called a few times, leaving voice messages asking for a call back, but we haven't received one. Their voicemail says they'll get back to us within 24 hours. We didn't write down the exact dates and times of the phone calls to My Computer Works to resolve this issue. Even today, after calling back in late 2020 to discuss the billing issue, they still charged us for the two computers on our last month's credit card statement.
This company, My Computer Works, charges a fee to remotely access your computer and help fix problems
This company, My Computer Works, charges a fee to remotely access your computer and help fix problems. They require the customer to be at their computer during the process. On 2/15, around 12:30pm, I called My Computer Works to fix an issue with my computer. Their business day ends at 10pm. However, I didn't receive a call from MCW on 2/15, so I planned to call again on my next day off. On 2/16, around 7am, someone from MCW called me. I couldn't take the call because I was at work and my computer was 35 miles away at home, making it impossible to fix the issue. To allow MCW to access the computer remotely, the customer needs to enter various numbers and codes. Since I was at work, I didn't have time to discuss my issue with the tech. I never spoke to anyone from MCW. When I checked my bank account, I noticed a $167 charge from MCW. I assumed they forgot to credit my account when they didn't call on the 15th. I called them three times, asking for a call back or a credit, but they never responded. Last week, I wrote a letter to the *** asking them to investigate, but I haven't received a reply and my bank account hasn't been credited. They didn't provide any service for me, didn't call me on the requested day, and charged me $167. I want a $200 refund to compensate for the time and effort I put into resolving this, and I will never use their service again.
