Nationstar chrges for online payments. Nationstar wont accept my bank's electronic payments. Eventhough they clear my bank, I have to call every month and spend hours on the phone while Nationstar tries to "find" my payment. If you can navigate through the endless phone tree and speak to a human, you will be transferred. Each time you are transferred you are put back on hold. One friday after a human transferred me, I spent 90 mins on hold until the company closed. Because of these issues I have been assigned a "foreclosure prevention specialist" who doesn't return phone calls. I despise Nationstar and their service practices. I wish they never got ahold of my loan and I am trying to do anything I can to get my home refinanced with another company. AVOID NATIONSTAR IF POSSIBLE!
I had the unfortunate experience of being serviced by Nationstar Mortgage for 6 months and got so fed up with their incorrect statements that I paid off the loan to be rid of them. It appears that you are being discriminated against. My monthly payments, including the pay off payment, were made via electronic funds transfer through my bank.
I would verify that the information for you bank bill pay has the payee listed as Nationstar Mortgage and you new NSM loan number is referenced on the bill pay along with NSM zip code. Also if you bank with Wells Fargo you may need to speak with a bank teller to set up your bill pay with perfect receivables because NSM bank through Wells Fargo also. A great way to speak with a representative the quickest is to verify loan number and SSN and press 0 until you are directed to a representative. To make sure you payments are found and applied to your account send in bill pay confirmation page to a representatives direct fax number or email address, whichever is provided. You may need to supply them a bank statement showing running account balance, account number, and you name. Hope this information was helpful!
I am having the same issues with Nationstar. They have the WORST customer service ever! This is the 2nd time this year that my they are unable to "Locate" my payment. I had sent a payment thru my Bill Pay account, Nationstart claimed they never recieved it. A month a few days later...I get the check back in the mail with a letter from them stating that it was not the amount to bring my account current. WELL...that's because you all claimed you never had the check. They are a complete nightmare. I am not sure HOW I am going to get my loan away from them...but something has to give. And if so many people are having problems...isn't there a Legal Method to do so? Class Action Case?
@This Place Needs More Descartes...I have NO PROBLEMS Paying my Loan. I do have a BIG PROBLEM when making payments and they claim they can't find the payments.
To This Place Needs More Descartes
You obviously have not experienced the nightmare of having Nationstar Mortgage service your mortgage. Don't knock those who have.
I wish I could show you my statements with all the errors that I endured for 6 months until I was able to pay off the loan. This company is (1) incompetent, (2) crooked, or both (1) incompetent and (2) crooked. Take your pick.
Descartes - you have a helluva nerve making assumptions the way you do. Do you own a home? Is your mortgage servicer Nationstar? If not, then please...shut. the. hell. up about things you know exactly NOTHING about.
Hello rhnull and other unhappy Nationstar customers,
I routinely look for posts to answer in hopes that it will not only bring optimism to those homeowners and borrowers in distress but also some basic information to assist in fighting the banks that are "too big to fail" but yet don't appreciate the bailout that we provided in their time of need. The debt collectors like Ocwen and Nationstar are simply just ### but they can be beat at their own game too just like the big banks can be defeated. I commend you all for knowing your rights and give your further props for asserting your rights with government agencies; that is an excellent strategy!
You are unfortunately in good company with many distressed Nationstar customers that have been abused just like you all with regard to incorrect and manipulated account statements, misapplied payments, and modification games. All of the aforementioned are violations of the CFPB at face value but I'm sure that if END Consulting dug a little deeper, we could find even more violations in which to hold Nationstar accountable for their abusive and unfair servicing practices. In fact, Nationstar is under much scrutiny right now and the NY regulators have already demanded data from Nationstar per this article http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2014/03/05/n-y-regulator-raises-questions-about-mortgage-firm-nationstar/?_php=true&_type=blogs&_r=0.
When dealing with Nationstar, it is imperative that you get everything in writing and take copious notes as to your communication, both written and verbal, so that you can prepare a written timeline for the oversight agencies as well as for the Courts in the event foreclosure is escalated. As for the modification games, the new CFPB rules that were implemented on January 10, 2014 strengthen the protections for homeowners to prevent all of the aforementioned complaints from occurring in the future.
