Update Issue
I’m a student with Arapahoe Community College. I was directed from my browser to the app, which I downloaded. After completing the download, I attempted to login. I was redirected back to my browser, then directed to the App Store. If I open the app from the App Store, then it requires me to login. I’m going in a circle trying to login through the app. Why can’t the login be done directly through the app? I’m completely unable to login at this time unless I’m using the browser only.
SO frustrating
I have to schedule an appointment with my advisor through this app and I’ve tried unsuccessfully for two days now to get past the “reasons” screen on the “appointment scheduling” page. I’ve tried it through the app, on the web page, on different devices... nothing works. The button on the “get help” page doesn’t even work. I’m considering switching schools altogether to avoid any frustration with this app in the future. This whole system seems like it was a high school project thrown together in a few weeks.
Worst interface !
Need help scheduling an appointment for advising? Welcome to the nightmare of navigate (which is ironically named) ! since there’s no other way to contact my advisors, I must do so through this dusty, slow, outdated piece of garbage of an app. your appointments will disappear once you’ve made them, you will not find what you need due to confusing layout, and you will most likely in general get angry. This horrendous app is what you should consider the first major obstacle in the college experience. Absolute unparalleled trash.
It’s not true
I don’t care what the 4 star rating says, the app itself is trash. I can log in fine, but am randomly logged out regardless of how long I’ve been on. Sometimes it’s after 15 minutes, sometimes it’s after 7 seconds. The screen scrolling will also randomly stop and you’ll have to force close the app. I pity the fool who tries to register for classes with the app. Even on the computer the site is buggy and a pain.
If using this for any period of time doesn’t make you want to slam your head against the wall, you’re a better man than I.
Not user friendly
I’ve been trying to use the study buddies section, and it won’t let me. For one, it won’t let me scroll through the list of people in a study group. Then secondly, when I tried to email the whole group and open it in my mail
app it wouldn’t transfer all the emails.
What’s the point of this app if it won’t do what it’s made to do? It’s advertised to help connect you to other people in your class and it WON’T let you connect.
Don’t waste your time with this app; you’re better off getting in touch with people via chat in your zoom meetings.
Great app, needs updating
There are few bugs: sometimes the app doesn’t launch; also, the app needs to be updated to fit an iPhone 14 Pro Max. The app isn’t optimized to the screen.
Otherwise…
This is a great app that boasts many features. You can manage a task list set by your school, as well as your personal to do list. You can schedule and appointment with your supervisor and even reach out to other students via the Study Buddy feature. If your school places any holds on your account you can see that too, and there are extra features like links to academic calendar.
Umm
First it took me almost 15 days to create my school account now this. I can’t even login to the app using my CUNY first account. Idk what they are asking for but nothing works clearly. Now I have to talk to my ASAP advisor again and figure out what does this app do and how can I login. And the last time I talked to one of the people from service desk the guy told me idk what’s wrong with my school account and left the call just like that. I mean why would he be working in service deck if he doesn’t know what the problem is. I feel like dropping out.
A lot of issues
The app was easy enough to use to register for classes (although it was still too glitchy that I had to register via the web browser), but when I go to add the classes to my calendar, it says it’s added, and then the app freezes and I have to force quit and the classes still aren’t added to my calendar. Most of the time when I open a section on the app it freezes and I have to force quit. Hoping this isn’t a long term issue but I would hope there is a way to fix it since there is no “contact” or actual app troubleshooting you can get to from the app.
Helpful and easy-to-use app for academic development
- scheduling appointments with all of your specific advisors (who serve different roles) is very easy
- finding study buddies via this app makes online courses much more comfortable in terms of fully digesting material taught
- communication is always quick and thorough so your questions can always be answered
- the “to-do” list this app provides serves as an easy outlet to stay on top of what you need to/ might need to do in order to be successful in your academic career
- provides your class schedule and your college’s available resources as well.

Cannot even login
I decided to download this upon reading that my university uses this and advised students to download. Upon opening the app, I was able to type in and successfully find my school, however, that is about it. Upon entering my credentials on the portal (which is the same login as the one outside of the app) it gave me a message saying “Sorry, our login failed. Please try again.” I gave it a few minutes, even a couple hours-still nothing. The same red alert comes up every time without fail. Please advise and fix this issue so I can access proper notifications and make for a better college experience.
List view isn’t chronological
I don’t outright hate the app, and I find it generally much easier to schedule appointments via the app as opposed to having to call in for every appointment, but I wish that health services (including counseling and the DLRC) were also available for appointments in the app. Also, and this is genuinely my biggest sticking point with the app right now— the class schedule list view is in alphabetical order, not chronological order. This isn’t really useful to me, I honestly can’t think of any situation where it would be more useful to have my classes in alphabetical order as opposed to chronological.
Poor UI - confusing and outdated
Initially, I didn’t have an issue with the app. However, after the recent update, the app is super clunky, not user-friendly, and it’s too crowded. I don’t know how/if they got approved under ADA guidelines with how squished the information is. I also don’t get why you guys changed the available times option in general to having to press on individual days which is extremely time consuming. The developer team definitely needs some sort of testing group to try out every update before releasing it because the user inference is clunky, cluttered, confusing, and visually unappealing. Not easy to navigate at all.
Need to include a back button or arrow
The concept of the App is tremendous. Yet, there is a navigation errors that need to be fixed. (No pun intended!). I have noticed that once I reach a certain page there is not a button that brings me back to the home page nor to the page before. I am having to constantly to exit the App on my phone and restarting the program in order to get back to the homepage. I gave this app two stars because without the back buttons the App is a hassle to use and overtime have starts to become useless. I hope to the developer will read my review and will make changes pronto. I can see this App becoming a great game change in the near future. Yet in it currently state is has a few kinks that need to be ironed out.
Horrible!
This app is beyond terrible. Students are forced to use this app for scheduling meetings with their academic advisor — and yet the app does not display what time slots are available to book. Yes you read that correctly. In order to book an appointment, you need to continuously select random calendar days and hope there is an opening on that day. There is no option for “soonest appointment” nor is there an option to see what time slots are available. This used to be possible in the app but after doing the update it is no longer possible. I know CUNY is short on cash but this app is garbage. Please CUNY at least get computer science students to make a new app as part of a volunteer project or federal work study, ANYTHING would be better than this.
Okay, here’s a suggestion
Overall, the app is okay but a bit awkward. I’ve found that the Home Screen glitches out a bit when you go back to it from other pages. Not a huge deal I guess.
The schedule section was very disappointing to me because it could be so much better given that this is a mobile app. The list view isn’t even organized by time. What? The calendar-like style is great but most people will have a Google calendar anyways which is much more convenient to access.
My suggestion for the schedule section is to create a chronological list of classes per day, and have the app change this list as the days change. Maybe there can even be a bar or something that moves down the list as time goes by to show where someone is during the day. If the schedule was set up like this, I could see myself using it a whole lot more.

The worst app ever
I can’t even log into this app. I’ll put in my school, then I’ll put in my school username and password (like it tells me too) which brings me into another log in page- except it’s on the browser where I have to log in again, but the browser tells me that not only does my account not exist, but that I should download the app for better results. I have the app. The app is what brought me to the browser because I logged in. This happens every time I try to log in on the app.
I even tried creating an account, but every time I tried to put in my organization (school) and clicked the next step, it would always say I didn’t put in an organization so there was an error in creating an account, and because of it I could not do so.
I’m an incoming freshman and the school strongly encourages the students to download the app because there are a lot of messages, important to-do’s, deadlines, reminders, and campus resources communicated through it- and to know that I’m going to be missing out on things I should be aware of is very stressful.
App is No Good/Cry for Help
Writing this review because I currently do not have a laptop and have been forced to use my phone for the last semester. I was hoping this would just somewhat be like a mobile version of the website found on a laptop but it is absolutely horrible. For starters, and easily the BIGGEST problem with the app is that it does not let you look or even edit your planner/schedule. This is really the only reason why my school even uses the app so to not have this feature on the mobile download basically renders itself useless. Next, because for some reason you can actually access your planner on the website while your on mobile I tried that and it still left me useless. Every time you grab a class to drag to your calendar the website scrolls with the class you’ve dragged essentially never being able to let you scroll all the way down to the calendar unless you let go of the class your dragging. This leaves the whole registration process debunked and making me unable to sign up for any classes. Registration for winter classes came out today and I need help IMMEDIATELY because I have no way to register and if I don’t sign up soon I’m going to lose the classes I have planned. Please fix your app to at least be able to access and edit the planner would make everything so much better. I hate to give an app a one star review but this one is more so a cry for help than poo-pooing the app, I just need to be able to sign up for my classes asap.

Navigate Student is bugged
Took me forever to log in after many, many error codes. Finally got in but it says I have 13 documents so I click on documents and get a blank screen. It says I have an appointment so I clock on appointments and get the list with no appointments and I cant click on My Team or History. What is the point of this app again? We have Canvas and you submit assignments through Canvas in many classes. This app is redundant and seriously flawed. And dont ask me to contact your support, you should already have a team using this app and finding these error. If you dont then you dont need to be in app design in the first place.
Not all schools
My school has it on there website to use this app but the app doesn’t have mount hood community college as an option. It’s very frustrating because online navigate works barley subpar. It’s very frustrating to try to deal with.

Won’t Even Work
I’ve had this app downloaded for a couple weeks now and every time I’ve logged in it says the same thing over and over again. That the app is having technical issues and is unable to process my request. I can’t even open the app!

No iPad adaption screen
I have an iPad that I do all my schoolwork on, and I keep it in landscape mode (not portrait) so that I can access the attachable keyboard. Navigate only has a portrait screen. I have never met an app that has no landscape adaption. Dumb.

Faulty
I don’t know if this is because of a recent update, but I can’t even get into the app. Every time I try to accept the terms and conditions by clicking ok, it just keeps the terms and conditions on there. How am I supposed to do anything online now?

I used to use the app it was good at some point but there’s login issues and I need it for my college to access a lot of things and for weeks it hasn’t been working . Every time I try to login it says user not found they really need to fix this app and fix that bug …

I’m getting stressed out using this app
This app doesn’t function properly. The app lags a lot even the website lags. I tried cancelling an appointment and it wouldn’t allow me since nothings appears. I have to keep refreshing in order for this app to work. Not only that but making appointments is a pain in the but.

Terrible Update
Whatever update they made to the Navigate app has rendered it completely useless. I had to log in to the Desktop version just to schedule an advising appointment - 3 days before class starts. I’ve tried re-installing it to no avail. The only thing I can do is look at reminders.

Ok so boom, I’m mad
I was totally fine with Navigate before this update. Now I cannot do anything on the app except look at my To-Dos. Everything that used to be under the Explore topic has disappeared. I need to schedule an advising appointment, and now I can’t because there is no scheduling button.

Impossible to even log in
Repeatedly says “The application is having some technical issues” when I try to log in. Reaching their technical support staff is time-consuming. I haven’t even gotten past the first step and a lot of people in the reviews seem to have experienced glitches in other parts of the app too.

I opened this app to search for my college and it stopped me with an error message. The error message said

Confusing
I tried using this app for college and at first it was alright. However, I just updated it and now I can’t seem to find anything. I’ve used it in the past to look at my schedule for my classes and now I don’t even know how to access my schedule. The only thing it’s allowing me to access is my “To-Do List”

Login Failure
Downloaded for school that starts next week, and I can’t even log into the app. It just says
“Login Failure: cannot locate KDC”
Clicked the need help logging in only to be told to contact my institution, which told me it’s the same login info I use for my school account, which obviously works… Seems like an app issue!

One of the few helpful functions just doesn’t work anymore
My college makes us schedule appointments through Navigate, and if that wasn’t the case I wouldn’t even have the app.
But really the only function of the app that’s helpful is being able to add your class schedule directly to your calendar app. It just stopped working a few weeks ago? I always get a blank white screen that says {{ $ctrl.title }}

Clunky, useless
This app is poorly designed and makes it very difficult to navigate. Layout is awkward, completing tasks leaves a lot to be desired, and I can’t get rid of an empty notification.
I also didn’t care to answer the questions it asks because it shouldn’t need my information in that manner.
Awful and can’t wait to not use this terrible app ever again once campuses open back up.

Needs Work
What a helpful app... if it had a back button. Trying to explore and get familiar with the app is such a hassle that I gave up. There are absolutely no back buttons or menu icons with which to navigate the app. Each link is literally a one way street so you have to completely close the app and start from the beginning every time you tap into a different area. So frustrating.

Not a big fan
I’m not a big fan of this app. I am visually impaired so when I go for apps I have to go for apps that will coincide with my voiceover. This does not when I try to click on the text box even to type in the school I am looking for it will not let me open it to type into. If there are some improvements that can be made to make it a voiceover compatible I would definitely get this app.

I have hoped with every update the app would finally work again. I can’t login through my schools sso and since the app is just a webpage it doesn’t need to be contained in a confusing and poorly designed app. It’s difficult to navigate even back when it still worked over 2 months ago. I despise that my school moved appointment scheduling to the app only because I can’t view anything.
