I was a patient at Milpark hospital from 29th - 31st May 2018.
I was admitted to casualties on the 29th with symptoms breathing difficulties. I was sent to High Care.
It is a policy of all hospitals for their nurses on duty to care for each patient. They also need to understand how traumatic the hospital experience can be, especially as one gets older.
I was very disappointed in the lack of care. The were frequently unfriendly and abrupt. I know that the nurses are busy but in high care I would have expected more compassion especially from such a hospital as Milpark. The loudness of the staff communicating with each other was really difficult to cope with. Surely a hospital ward should be a place of some consideration for those who are not well.
To add to my concern I was moved from High Care to Section 2 late evening of 30th after I had been given a sleeping pill. I was very disorientated . Why do they need to move patients late at night?
The service and care in Section 2 was far superior .
I feel strongly that this matter needs to be brought to your attention.
Yours sincerely
Gail Munczinski.

Netcare - Milpark Hospital
I went in for a procedure today 27 February.
The bad service and lack of care from some of the Nurses is concerning. I understand that they are busy and can wait hand and foot on everyone however from my experience today it was the simple reuqest which was ignore. After coming out of theatre was was quite nausea and a nurse offered meds for the nausea which I agreed to but she never gave any. I also asked for something for the pain and was also ignore. I was discharged at around 1:30 and was not given any lunch. The nurse had in fact lied to the Sister in charge saying that I ate. I then had to stand over an hour in the queue at the pharmacy downstairs for my meds and almost fainted and broke down in tears because they don't care that patients have to wait this ridiculous amount of time after coming out of theatre.
I would not recommend Milpark Hospital to anyone that has a choice.

MilPark is appalling and should be Shut Down. My father and others died with no care whatsoever from nurses, disgusting to say the list. It should be SHUT DOWN with immediate effect or BURNT DOWN!
Milpark be Not Proud of the pain you cause our people, we are watching you and action will be taken. You wont get away with killing my father.
Well I am currently a patient at milpark the service here is very bad. These nurse's are like public hospital nurse's.
Netcare Milpark. The accounts department is shockingly inefficient. Sent them an email twice a month ago. Still awaiting a response. You don't get a statement of amount owing from them but you get handed over to Siya recoveries?
You cant get through the land line number nor do they respond to emails?
Terrible service!
I agree all that my medical aid needed was a letter from my cardiologist to say that I am on chronic cell cept medication. It was never done I never got a email or nothing out of nowhere they send a message to my husband's phone I am being handed over. I immediately phoned the hospital to sort it out. I forwarded the letter to my medical aid aswell as milpark. It is still not fixed I had to pay the money out of my pocket. But in hospital my medical aid must pay for when I get booked in. The proper channels must be followed inside the hospital.
My brother is currently in medical ICU. The nursing care is appalling and the nurses are surly. Obviously there are exceptions but they are few. I would not voluntarily go to that hospital if my life depended on it.
I never see such a poor service private hospital, I jst came here for a follow up but since from 08H33 until now as now is 12H24 I haven't been attended to and yet we are paying. It's big disgrace for su a big hospital to have two DRS at casualty
