I also received the sms, I didn't enter any computition. I am sending the message to nokia for there approval.

I got the same sms and have done some checking of my own, cause I suspected it was a scam or spam.

Any mail going to this e-mail address will go to an Indian webmail server www.rediffmailpro.com, based in Mumbai India. I can find no evidence that this company or its related companies (it seems one of the main companies being rediff.com) is at all related to Nokia.

My reasoning says that Nokia is a large international company, if they wanted to run such a promotion, they would not create an e-mail address on an unrelated public web mail server - they would register the domain name under their own ownership or use a reputable ISP for that and administer the e-mail themselves.

I can only conclude that this is an elaborate scam to obtain peoples' details and e-mail addresses for further spam.

I recieved exactly the same message and have no idea whether to rspond to it. I've emailed nokia SA and await there reply

It is highly unlikely that any company like nokia is going to send you an sms to tell you you have won a 6 or 7 figure prize. If they were to run a competion such as this it would be in the national press, there would be TV or radio adverts telling us. One of the biggest clues of of a Scam is the @live ending to the email address. No multi-national company is going to be using Hotmail, Gmail or any other FREE email accounts on behalf of their company, if and it's a big IF Nokia or any other large company was to send an email address via sms then it would end with @nokia.org or something very similar. Hüsnü Gökbayrak wrote to say they wanted £500 before releasing the prize fund, Y? Why would you be expected to pay anything when A: you did'nt actually enter any draw and B: if you have won a prize awarded by these large companies then the prize money is just a small part of this international advertising promotion and £500.00 is a mere grain of sand on a wide open beech in comparison to their promotion budgets. Just be careful folks, its a cruel world...

i am from UAE and received the same message. I simply ignore it because obviously it's a FAKE..SCAM. Nokia won't make such a LOUSY way of promotion if they have this anniversary promo or something. It's REALY REALY IMPOSSIBLE.
