I recently made an order from N Scale Supply, an online store that specializes in N scale trains. I had ordered from them before and had no issues, so I felt confident in placing another order. However, I quickly realized that this was a mistake. After placing my order, I received a notification from an employee named SCOTT that some of the items I had chosen were out of stock, despite the website indicating that they were available. To make matters worse, some of the other items I had ordered were not available until SCOTT could secure them from elsewhere. We exchanged several emails, but it only led to confusion.

I was frustrated that SCOTT never bothered to call me directly to discuss the issues. I mean, isn't a customer's telephone number a vital piece of information for an online business? Instead, I received an email the following day informing me that SCOTT had cancelled my order due to a credit card issue. I was angry that I never had the chance to speak with a "live" person when I called their place of business in Arvada, Colorado. All I could do was send an email or leave a message. It was not the customer service I was hoping for.

Despite my frustration, I wanted to give N Scale Supply a second chance to make things right. So, I sent another order request via email. However, within three minutes, I received a reply from SCOTT saying that he had cancelled that order as well. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed.

I cannot recommend N Scale Supply to anyone who wants good customer service or expects to receive the items they desire in stock. If you want to avoid frustration and disappointment, do not place an order, call, or email N Scale Supply. In my opinion, N Scale Supply.com sucks.

N Scale Supply in Arvada Colorado is a really cool train shop that specializes in N Scale. I've been going there for the past 11 months during this crazy PLANdemic of the not-so-lethal Corona virus (as the media would have us believe), and they've been there to help us keep enjoying our modeling! They follow state guidelines around the virus, and they always have a ton of items in stock. Scott, the owner, has way more stuff than the "Rebirth-of-the-legendary-Caboose Hobbies-but-now-defunct-train-shop" ever had! And the prices are better too!

I live in Colorado, so I love going to N Scale Supply in person. It's always a great time. Scott is a small operator, so he might only have one or two of a particular kit or item (except for staples like paint, glues, track, scenery materials, etc), but he restocks and gets shipments from his major suppliers twice a week.

I recently ordered a couple of decal sheets produced by Microscale from N Scale Supply. I've ordered directly from Microscale in the past, but they always charge $10.00 just for shipping. You have to order $60 to $80 worth of decals to justify that order. I didn't expect N Scale Supply to have the two decal sheets I wanted in stock, but Scott ordered them from his distributors, and I got them in a reasonable amount of time. And I didn't have to spend $80 to do it. Nor did I have to spend $17.00 just to get a $7.00 item!

If there's something I want or need, I often order via the website so Scott can order items in case they're out of stock. He puts the items aside for me when I stop in. Plus, he offers most items at a discount, so you're not paying retail prices on everything. He usually responds to emails within a day, and he always lets me know when I have items I've ordered that are ready to be picked up.

Now, there was another review that was pretty nasty. The person complained that the website lists lines and items carried by N Scale Supply, but that doesn't mean they'll ship your item in 20 minutes. They're not eBay! And just because you want something doesn't mean they have it in stock. They can't order, stock, and pay for everything in advance, hoping that you or somebody else will order one! That's just not how it works. If you expect that, go to TRAIN CARNIVAL OR BIG-[censored] TRAINS.COM for your stuff! Many of the items Scott stocks, many of the "jems" of N Scale, are not even carried by those carnival stores. So stop acting like all you have to do is walk up to your microwave, press a few buttons, and two minutes later your trains come out!

Overall, I highly recommend N Scale Supply for all things N Scale! It's a great little place that I'm lucky to have close by!
