I have donated at the spokane location off and on for the past 15 years or better and the last 5 years I started a business which takes my time throughout the summer then I return for a couple of months in the winter time to donate again. In december monday the 18th of 2023 on or about 1:00 p.M. I started donating again then I had returned a second time on the 21st of december and then again onsaturday the 30th of december. It started out like any other donating day then when I got to the processing booth the girl doing the processing nonchalantly asks me do you smoke marijuana upon my reply of saying yesi find myself being deferredfor the dayit's not that I smelled like marijuanaor that I was highi was not and I did not smell. Returning the next dayi findi cannot just go in and donate like usual I have to go see a member of management and talk about donating and smoking marijuanaat the time they tell me they are following fda guidelinesat the time I was okay with that until I found out that I was being lied to and manipulatedfda guidelines says3 hoursbefore donatingyou should not smoke marijuananot 48when I brought that up to management they further pushed the issues saying it was company policy I call it discrimination you don't tell people who smoke cigarettes this and it's the same guideline I filed the complaint on saturday december 23rd about this incident i've been donated again that sunday the 24 and then on friday january 5th 2024 and then again on sunday january 7th. Thursday january 11th at about 7:30 a.M. I get a phone call from the manager at octapharma stating this is a follow-up call her idea of a follow-up call was to talk down to me telling me I am a liar and if I don't like the way things are at that center to go somewhere elselearn uponmy return to the centeron january 13th to donate only to find I cannot donate and further talked down to I have now been permanently deferred because I smoke marijuana this is discrimination. The most disturbing part of about this is the two employees that started this thought it was funny that they are keeping money from the drug man when in reality I have medical marijuana and I smoke it for my arthritis and it helps. Throughout the years at no time throughout the screening was I ever asked if I smoke marijuana and at no time was I ever told that you cannot smoke marijuana and donate plasma where is this written in october policywhere in octapharma orientation does it sayyou cannot smoke marijuana and donate plasmait does not. At the end of the day I feel I have been discriminated against because I called them out on their lies. If I find that I can sue on the grounds of discrimination in this matter I will.
Desired outcome: A sincere apology would be a good start and then a change of management it would be a good idea
