WOW! We wasted a beautiful afternoon listening to a bunch of CRAP, in hopes of leaving with a restaurant gift certificate and a free gas card and now we have nothing. I can't believe thses people can live with themselves knowing they're ripping people off. I guess I expected more of the people in my town. Live and Learn and then share it with others...NEVER EVER EVER FALL for listening to a presentation of any kind and expect to leave with a FREE gift.

Outrigger Vacation Club is the biggest scam on the earth. I can't believe these people can come home from work each day and live with themselves knowing that they have blatantly lied to people's faces and taken their money in exchange for NOTHING. In their ridiculous, 45 minute presentation, they claim that the $8, 000 lifetime membership will be well worth it in the end and customers will earn all their money back and more after just a couple of years. What they don't mention is that they are lying. There are no brochures, no literature, and no videos to even advertise the vacation club. It is merely an uneducated, poorly dressed salesman babbling and reading "deals" off a piece of paper that don't actually exist. The entire presentation is done verbally. The way they suck you in though, is unbelievable. You are almost in a trance and thinking, this is the chance we've been looking for to be able to vacation affordably every year. They also mention that there are no blackout dates, like school vacation weeks, any family member or friend can use your account, and you earn a percentage back when friends and family book vacations through you.
After the presentation, you are quickly ushered into a room to seal the deal and lose thousands of your hard earned dollars. There is no thinking about it, no financing, really no questioning it, and it has to be done then and there. As soon as you say no, they reduce the price. It went from $8000 to $1000 in less than five minutes. My parents are both almost retired and thought it would be a good deal for them that they could share with their family. The people told them that if they changed their minds, they could easily call back and cancel within the next 48 hours. They also claim to have an A rating with the Better Business Bureau.
Later, my mom did some research and found out about this scam. Basically, you are paying for nothing and the deals are no different than what you'd find on Expedia.com. This company constantly change their name so people won't be onto them. They are also known as Good Time Travel Club. They actually have a F rating with the Better Business Bureau, but since they change their name so often, it's hard to find it.You are not allowed to know their name until after you get home so it's impossible to research them before you get sucked in. She couldn't even look at the deals because they won't allow you to do so until you've been a member for 2 weeks. Fishy, huh? When my parents tried to end the contract, Bob Caliri, the CEO said screw you, this is an iron clad contract and it doesn't matter what we told you, it's what's written. He basically told them they are not getting a dime back. My mom told him she would come down to Plymouth, stand off their property on the sidewalk, and peacefully tell potential customers about her experience with the Outrigger Travel Club. Bob Caliri proceeded to scream at her and threaten that he would have her in handcuffs if she tried. Right now, the charge is under dispute with VISA. My parents are not finished with this but these people are not bending. If enough people complain though, VISA might end their contract with them, which could be very detrimental to their business.
Be careful, even if you're just in it for the free gift, it's not worth your time. They make the "free flight" impossible for anyone who has a job. You also have to send a $50 deposit, which will be returned upon completion of your travel. Their are so many stipulations though that you'll probably just lose the deposit. These people will lie to you about absolutely anything, since they there are no consequences for them. They will tell you they are former teachers, pastors, and kidney donors. They will tell you they have owned this vacation club for years and it is the best thing since sliced bread. Don't be fooled though. It could happen to anyone but don't forget to: 1. Read the fine print (they will lie to you if you don't) and 2. remember that anything that seems to good to be true usually is. Also, look out for the names: Bob Caliri and Mandrin Henry. They are both highly unethical people who will stop at nothing to take your money.
I went I saw I left... $8995, $399 "DOC" Fee. $199 annual "Maintenance" Fee at the start.
Great presentation. Some of the best high presure sales I have ever seen. Almost as tough a sell as most time shares.
I noticed that they dropped the price after they thought I was terribly interested and enthusiastic in the Product...
After the "BIG GUY" finally made it to our litle table adn dropped the price to $2997 and I told him I would contact them after I talked with my family members that MIGHT have used this with me to make it worth something... In the meantime at least 2 of 8 couples (or singles) bought at $8995 and $7995 we left.
I noticed that there were 2 different prize packages. Ours had a $50 prepaid amex in it and the so called trip with airfare and dinner card oh and a $150 show discount all in one $50 a person mail in an hope you get something back...
OutriggerTravel Club... I asked them if they were involved in a very large and old Hawaiiian Business. I stayed at the Outrigger Reef, Waikeekee, ate Thanksgiving dinner at the Outrigger Queen Kapiolani... so the Speaker sort of frouned and quickly said no.
We traveled for one hour to get thee. and enjoyned the day in Foley Alabama. OH They said they were only in the south in 5 states . I had asked them if they wre in California.. Answer: No...
The prices they listed in the slides were great! they were just prices listed in slides though. SHOW ME TRIP REservatgion reciepts from past travelers.
Oh my gosh, we just bought into this a couple of weeks ago ! It sounded so great ! I got a phone call last night with my "Member Number and Password" so I decided to look around for vacations. The first three I tried, the dates were "not available" and we were told that this would never happen. Then, I finally was able to get one for a trip to Florida and the rate was not as they said, not that "great savings" that sold us on this travel club. Hotwire had a better rate. I am SICK over the money we stupidly spent of this.
So, now, as we watched the news tonight we saw that 75 people have court cases against Outrigger Vacation Club. They are trying to get their money back because it did not have the advantages that we we all told about.
We trusted the people of this company, the man that gave the presentation claimed that he was also a "preacher". I dont know how they can sleep at night, knowing how they lied to and took advantage of people. We have a daughter in college and this travel club was going to be a struggle for us to pay for, but we thought it would be worth it. Turns out we made a BIG mistake !
the positive remaks on this page are employees going under false names and emails, i have seen this before, do not believe any of the great things this company does, even in the first two blogs you can see its the same person first making a comment about how they were treated good, then the same person puts in the info to call the company, its the employees trying to put good things about the travel group in hopes if someone googles the name they will see good comments too. good luck all you scamsters what goes around comes around
yuck, stay away. we were roped into it. should've used common sense. What a waste of moneyso far!
I wish that my experience ended with a waste of 2 hours and a bad gift! my husband and i decided to join. i have since called 2x's. The prices i was quoted were not the best deals, both times i have booked my business on the internet myself. We paid $4, 650 for this membership. We have a family and that is quite a bit of money to us. I spoke to a manager, expressed my dissatisfaction for the service and wished to speak to someone to be refunded, they would not give me a name. They gave me an address to send a letter but couldn't tell me the presidents name or a dept. that I could list on the envelope. They also were quick to tell me, Outrigger is not the company I paid the money to so, they can't refund it. They do receive the dues we pay each year. The manager said she would review my complaint and possibly refund my dues if she felt it was appropriate. That was on Oct 13. Today is the 20th. I left another msg for her yesterday. Still no word. I have never posted a negative comment on a website. I am writting this purely to warn you. I would not use this travel agency even if there were no membership fees.
