Promises the world delivers nothing of value as was promised. Useless 25.00 rebates a month for groceries instead of 300.00 coupon expected. Can save more with coupons. Read the fine print for redeeming travel vouchers. Must book 90 days in advance leave mon or tues at 3:00 or 6:00 pm and arrive back at 6:00 am. I don't think so. What a scam. Why spend almost $9000.00 to join unless your retired.

I got scamed last year, in Gulf Shores, Alabama. They called themselves Destations Unlimited/SeaLand Travel. Got another letter this year to attend under the name of Grand Design Travel/Outrigger Travel Club at the same location in Gulf Shores, Al. I am still trying to get my money back and put these people out of business. Contact your AG.

Became a member and totally unhappy with their services. I thought I was smarter than this. Smooth talk and false promises did the trick. Once they get your money there is no more customer service at all. Changing names, telephone numbers, locations...what a scam. I know it won't get my money back, but I'll report them to the Attorney General just to make me feel better. Hopefully justice will prevail. I hope you will have time to remorse and rethink your life...in jail.

Fantasia Travel promotes Outrigger Travel which is a complete fraud. I hope officials who are looking for businesses involved with fraud shut the place down.
With all these complaints you would think more action would have been taken by the attorney general's office to protect the consumer from these scams. We should form some local groups to go to ther various presentation locations and talk to people before they go in for their fleecing. We may not get our money back but we could certainly put a dent in the "vacation club" revenue if we turned people away !
I have been a member for a year - requested 4 quotes and could get better deals on my own with all 4 quotes - So disappointing - any reputable company would gladly give you your money back if you were disatisfied with their product or service - but not this one ! That should tell you something right there ! I agree with victimnr1000 - we can only hope that justice prevails and these criminals are held accountable to what they are doing to the public.
This is a note to Jim Sanderson of Outrigger Vacation Club. It seems to me, with all the complaints of deceitful practices, by businesses selling your product, your company would have taken steps to protect prospectful customers from being fleeced. What these businesses are doing is giving your company a BAD reputation, making certain your customer base shrinks, and entertaining legal proceedings against you. I happen to be one of your customers that was hosed for $7, 600.00 and, frankly, I'm enormously PISSED! I have spread the word, near and far, to stay clear of any business that sells your product. If you want to redeem Outrigger's reputation, I suggest you get rid of the parasites praying on your prospective customers...
Grand Travel Worldwide uses deceptive tactics to get you to come to one of their seminars. My wife and I bought into one of their packages after negotiating them down too just 1593 dollars. From 8995 plus 399 and 199 in annual dues. We thought we were buying a fantastic Vacation club. We were so excited, thinking that we would be able to get great deals and be able to travel for less money. Later that night when we arrived home, I decided to do some research about this company. Checking their web site and blogs like this, I realized I had bought into a scam, that they can't deliver the savings they claimed. Not to mention the fact that we were not just dealing with one company name, but five. Grand Travel Worldwide, Voyager Vacation Club, Island Trader Vacations, Travel Services Inc. and Payless Vacations. Most of the web sights on the internet told us if a company has more than one name it's hard to trace where your money is actually going and is most likely a scam. I was so pissed off about what I read and heard from others and also from news web sights over the internet. I decided to go back to the Hotel where the seminar was being held the next day and demand they cancel the transaction. After a little arguing and loud communication with the director they reversed the transaction and canceled the payment. If this happens to anyone else please just go back the next day and do the same it will work. For this group we bought into we read we only had three days to cancel from the date of signing our documents. Read the fine print and check to see if the company you buy into can actually do what they say they can! The more people who stand up to these types of organizations the more likely they are of being stopped!
Hi Kezza I know this message is from years ago but I find myself in the same position. Any advise on how to get out of this membership.. past the initial 3 days? Although I have not paid in the past couple of years, they call me and tell me my dues are building up and my membership is for life! can u help? or point me in the right direction?
thank you, Susan
Hi there,
I also got sucked into this, i paid $8000 for nothing and now they want me to pay them the back years of my membership fees... HUH.. ... I attended a presentation Fantasia Travel/Outrigger in Methuen, MA . It was in an office park. WHAT A JOKE... DO NOT GET SUCKED IN... They are a bunch of scammers and promise you anything to get you to signup. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and One company blames the other... I'm going to take this to the highest level i can and wish we could all do it together. Let's contact the Attorney General and file a class action suit...
My story is very similar! Got hosed into this back in 2011, paid for three years, never used it, cancelled it (or so I thought) and now they are sending me a bill - eight years later - for unpaid membership fees. When I told the customer rep (Liz) that we cancelled this years ago and have since never received any kind of communication from them she told me they had been sending invoices all along. When I asked her to send them to me now, she said she doesn't have to do that. That to me is proof that I cancelled it and no bills ever went out. What a scam! Don't get sucked in - you will regret it forever!
I am glad you are pursuing a complaint and am interested in a class action suit. I have contacted the MA Atty. General's office to ask if Only Way 2 Go, also distributing memberships to Outrigger V. Club, is still a legal business. I haven't heard yet, the only time to call directly is Mondays from 8:30 -1, but I plan to do so this coming Monday. With all the prior lawsuits I wondered what is needed to get the buyer list from both companies and send us all an invitation to participate, by mail. I would volunteer some clerical time if a list is procurable.
Keep me informed...
They are real @holes for sure... We need to pursue further as they definitely paid people their money back because the Atty General forced them too...
Same! Cancelled back in 2014, now they show up 8 years later claiming to have been sending invoices all along and "dozens of phone calls" and emails (none of which is true) and that we didn't cancel because we would have had to fill out a form and pay $498 to cancel.
The promise of inexpensive and discount travel has relevant only to be less then some mythical published price. The majority of travelers can find better prices and accommodations closer to their destination. Their promise of vast resources and “no hassel” booking and travel preparations is a pressure sales tactic that plays upon your desire for an easy and instant vacation. We found with a little effort that we could at minimal equal their “best deal” and many times do a lot better. Initial fee discounts were another tactic for your satisfaction or ego to get you to sign a document. They promised to keep you in the loop of offers periodically, but the name change to Travel Center will make these documents disappear into the junk mail category. Never used them once. Unfortunately the annual dues are owed wether you use their awful device or not. They don’t stress paying dues enough during times you don’t use their service. Very high pressure and deceitful sales practice.
.
We were sold this travel plan under totally false pretenses and when we tried to get our money back they said too bad. The people traveling around selling these packages and totally telling lies had disappeared and the OVC
Club said too bad too late to cancel. All the extra perks promised didn’t work either in the beginning so that should have been a sign of things to come… So my husband tells them we want to cancel membership and they say you can’t you signed a contract but you don’t have to pay dues unless you use us then you’ll have to catch up on dues… now they are trying to send 15+ years of dues to collections when they owe us money not us owing them money because they got our money and we were straight out lied to from the beginning. Their phone representatives are well trained and rude and won’t listen but say we are lying and we signed a contract blah blah blah now I’m wondering if what they are even looking at we signed was forged by the 2nd party scammers who took our money under false pretenses in the beginning many years ago. An elderly retirement family’s nightmare this place is.
