My original adapter from Apple lasted 6 and a half years
My original adapter from Apple lasted 6 and a half years. I was sold 2 MagSafe power adapters from OWC in July and September. They both failed within 2 months. I called Apple and they confirmed both adapters that OWC sold me are counterfeit. With further research, I found out the Illinois Attorney General is aware of this problem and has warned OWC to stop selling fake Apple products. Upon confronting OWC with this information, they promised me a full refund. As of today's date, they have yet to refund my purchases. I plan on filing a lawsuit with the Illinois Attorney General.

I purchased a OWC Thunderbolt 4 hub claiming 40gbs
I purchased a OWC Thunderbolt 4 hub claiming 40gbs. With a external SSD in thunder bolt enclosure connected to the OWCh I waubs only able to get 1400 write 1700 read. With the same drive connected directly to M1 Mac mini it had 2000 write and 2400 read. With a Crucial USB C drive connected speeds were around 560 r/w with OWC hub. Same drive connected to Mac directly 800 r/w. I sent this back as I figure it must be defective. They said they tested it and it was fine and are sending it back. Obviously this doesn't live up to the claims provided on there website as this cripples both drives.
Buyers beware. This company is difficult, misleading, and ultimately a fraud.

Purchased a 2017 Macbook Pro 16 inch in June and since the first day I had charging issues. I contacted them and they sent me another cable and charger. Still it had the same issue. They told me to send the computer in for a technician to inspect it. Technician said it was working fine but IT'S NOT. I struggle everyday to charge my computer. I reached out to OWC again and all they said was "We still appreciate you as a customer and hope that you will try us again" I will never buy anything from them again and I hope ppl read this review and not risk an expensive $1,700 mistake like I did. DO NOT BUY from OWC

Against my better judgment ($100 cheaper was a big incentive), I decided to buy a white homepod from MacSales/OWC. Upon opening the box the homepod had several majorly discolored spots which while hard to see in photos are very obvious in person. I contacted their customer service and was offered a replacement homepod but it would cost me a 25% restocking fee OR they could give me a refund. A 25% restocking fee for something which is their fault? No thanks. I'll take my money and buy it elsewhere where I won't get a discolored product. Don't be like me... don't buy the white homepod from them. It's not worth the headache.
I wish I had seen this rating of OWC before buying a 9 TB RAID drive from them few years ago. It worked for a couple of years, then when my employer was about to lay me off, I transferred all my info for 20 years there, plus my other personal files as it was supposed to be invincible! Then one drive crashed. I could not write to it just read. Called the support after few times they finally sent a drive but not a 3TB to match the others but a 4TB. After few weeks of holiday and staff being out, another tech support tested that and said, you have a second drive failing now, send a report that I did and he recommended backing up asap as everything was going down that it did. Now almost 10 days later and many more calls, I have a 9 TB dead weight on my desk, an invoice for the wrong drive they sent (although they said when everything is fixed send us the faulty drive and we'll reimburse what we put on your card). Few more emails and asking for help, nothing... just the phone jingle and answering machine. Awful awful service and product... never ever buy from them. : ( Fred Ershadi

Date of Purchase: January 25 8:19 AM Confirmation Number: L5379208 Item: DIY Upgrade Bundle: 4.0TB 7200RPM HDD Upgrade/Replacement Kit for Apple iMac The adhesive OWC supplied failed after 6 months. There was no warning. The failure was catastrophic. My LCD screen fell off and smashed on the floor. The screen can't be replaced except by a used one at a cost of $500-600. OWC made no attempt to help resolve the issue. My $160 upgrade will now cost a lot more. As an engineer, I understand surface preparation and adhesion. This is an inferior product they are selling and does not come close the quality of the original equipment used by Apple. Do not use the adhesive supplied by OWC.

I recently ordered a battery for my Macbook pro but I sent it back because they sent me the wrong one. Now I'm waiting for them to give me my money back but they are not responding and ignoring my e-mails. this is a horrible company whatever you do, don't do business with them.
Sold counterfeit Magsafe 2 Power Adapter. The first one I received melted, I RMA'd that one RMA Number ***LF2, the second one also got very hot. Did more research to find out that this company has a history of selling counterfeit magsafe 2 adapters. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/owc-selling-fake-magsafe-2-power-adapter***/ They would not refund my purchase. I will take this up with the AG.
Bought a new solid state drive, installed but tape didn't hold the screen on and monitor fell. OWC looked at pictures I sent in and said it would be covered by warranty... they sent RMA and I sent it in. Waited and waited... then I called, they did not have the information. Waited two weeks with no word. Called me two days later and told me it was my fault the tape didn't hold the screen on. I complained why did it take over two weeks and then call to tell me. I had no computer. Unhappy they did not tell me... then they said they would not fix it but NOW wanted $174 to return junk computer back to me. I asked them to keep it and just send the newly purchased SSD. NOPE. I feel they have been deceptive telling me they would pay for repair, have me send it in with no notice of when it would be fixed, then refused to fix it but stated I needed to pay them $174 to return it. It only about 30$ to ship so why charge me so much. I want to let them know they should not treat customers this way.
I have had 2/2 negative interactions with this company and their products
I have had 2/2 negative interactions with this company and their products. ~ I purchased a SSD to upgrade an older computer. When it arrived I installed it and the computer would not boot, after several tech calls the company sent out a replacement that worked for a little while. Currently, less than a year later, the computer crashes daily. ~ I purchased a refurbished 2018 Mac book pro for $2,400. I saved about $300. Fourteen months later it needed a new hard drive. The nice guy with customer service explained, very apologetically, how sometimes you just get a lemon when you buy a computer. So $900 to replace the hard drive, and one month later my computer works again. ~ They are nice on the phone but as of today very uninterested in actually making wrong right.
I recently bought a 480 GB OWC 2 complete kit for a new SSD and data migration.
I recently bought a 480 GB OWC 2 complete kit for a new SSD and data migration. After installing the SSD, I tried to back up my data using Envoy, but my laptop didn't recognize it. Tech support informed me that Envoy isn't compatible with my MacBook Pro early 2015 model. This compatibility issue wasn't mentioned when I bought the product. The tech support suggested returning the device, which would cost me an additional 50-60 Canadian dollars. I spent an extra $100 on an external hard drive and many hours to save my data. This experience felt like fraudulent and unethical selling. I won't be returning to this company. Shame on them!

I have the exact same complaint as a user posted on 02/11 Installed a new drive in an iMac 27" with OWC upgrade kit
I have the exact same complaint as a user posted on 02/11 Installed a new drive in an iMac 27" with OWC upgrade kit. After about a month the tape failed, the display detached from the computer, fell on the floor and cracked. Again, as the other poster, after numerous emails. They accept no responsibility and what's more expect to make more money off of me by having me send my computer and having it repaired at my own expense. It's like buying poor quality brake pads for your car, getting in an accident because of poor brake pads and the seller not even telling you they'll reimburse the break pads but instead, bring your car in and we'll fix it at your own expense. That is really shady business practice. The only difference with me and the other post is that they cannot argue that it must be professionally installed. I am a professional. And it was properly installed. Tape failed period.

Cruel customer service + dead hard drive: The facts
Cruel customer service + dead hard drive: The facts.. received the hard drive and kit. After 4 weeks of intermittent issues stemming from a faulty hard drive it was returned as it has completely failed. OWC only wanting to give a Partial Refund on the matter hence the cruel customer service resolution. I returned the hard drive per RMA. True it was not returned with all the components of the 'kit.' The computer repair shop only provided me with the hard drive and no other components. All of this is understood, but situations and circumstances vary so I addressed this directly with customer service supervisor Danielle. No consideration given that this cost me $120 to diagnose the faulty hard drive, loss of time (iMac in shop on 3 occasions over 12 days), and total loss of Data! ALL that I seek was a full refund on this item and they will not consider it and it must now go through a chargeback process. If you value Service and your Time do not do business with OWC/MacSales directly.

The machine, as advertised, costs more like $459. I spent half an hour on the phone with sales support today, as well as 15 minutes in chat last night, to attempt to get them to honor the e-mail that they sent out. "Well, it should have said THIS ..." doesn't really cut it as an explanation for them failing to honor the price. They acknowledged "an errror" as the actual machine they're advertising is about $120 more. If they had typed the wrong price (like $4.50 instead of $450), no reasonable person would argue over it. I run a business. Sometimes you just have to eat the loss and learn from your mistake. I am so glad I found this Complaintsboard.com complaint page to see that many others are having issues with OWC as well. I almost spent $500 with them ... close call.

I really wish I would have seen these reviews before I ordered with OWC
I really wish I would have seen these reviews before I ordered with OWC. Where to even begin with my saga. I ordered a Apple MacBook Pro from OWC with the 2 year eclipse plus protection. When my laptop arrived, upon first power up it made a loud static/crackling noise and clear liquid (I'm assuming water) came out of the keyboard! Once the computer was on I noticed there was a defect in the screen, about 4-5 inches of white spots/streaks across the center. When I emailed them about this issue, they sent a one sentence response that told me to send pictures/videos. I sent pictures (I took a picture of the screen with my cell phone, the screen happened to be opened to the customer support email thread), which the customer support representative responded that there were no files attached. So I sent the pictures AGAIN, to which she said the file was unreadable and that I needed to send her my email address, shipping address, and invoice number which didn't make sense considering all that info was in my initial email. I sent pictures for the THIRD time, this time as jpegs and pdfs. Her response was "Kindly refrain from sending us the same email that we sent you. The picture was not downloadable and cannot be read/seen. You need to attached it to your email so we can proceed with your RMA not a screenshot of our email." Which means that she can in fact see the pictures I have been sending her. I sent additional pictures and threatened to report to the complaintsboard.com, and they finally said I could send in the laptop for their team to confirm the damage and once they confirmed the damage, they would replace it (I have to pay for the shipping btw). This back and forth email conversation lasted for an entire month. Obviously I was extremely distrustful at this point, so I contacted a different team member to ask about the exchange process. He looked up my case and immediately saw the pictures I had emailed showing the screen damage, and said I needed to send MORE pictures of the water and audio of the static noise. Really? That's all he has to say after everything? Then he said that the reason his co-worker could not read the pictures is because she is far-sighted and she could not see the pictures because they were too bright. Is this a joke? This entire experience feels like a scam. Who knows what would happen if I sent them the laptop. I am extremely distrustful that they would acknowledge the damage and actually replace it. I will NEVER EVER order from this company again. Terrible mistake. $1600 and over a month of a headache to have no resolution and a damaged laptop.

I seem to have had a terrible experience with OWC, a retailer I once trusted, like everyone else
I seem to have had a terrible experience with OWC, a retailer I once trusted, like everyone else. A friend bought a pair of refurbished Bose headphones from them as a gift. It had a one year warranty. It turns out the headphones started failing probably halfway through the warranty due to some electrical malfunction. They wouldn't keep a long charge. I didn't use the phones constantly and just assumed the battery didn't hold the original charge. A couple of months out of warranty, during quarantine, when I really needed them, they died on me. And I realized it wasn't just a battery issue. At first I contacted them through chat, the guy said he could do nothing. I asked for his supervisor. She sent me a form email saying she could do nothing since they didn't have any more stock. And "sorry for the inconvenience." I wrote back furious pointing out to her they had the very same pair in a different color. I called in, she rambled and agreed to give me 30 bucks off another pair. They sell them for 228 bucks! I asked for her supervisor and got Ben. Ben asked me all sorts of questions to indicate concern and told me, that I was close to 3 months out of my one year warranty and could do nothing. "It's not our product." Then he gave me an idiot's lecture on lithium-ion batteries and explained that since I hadn't used them that much the battery probably died. He blamed me! At least the first woman was honest enough to agree with me that it sounded electrical. Everyone told me to check with Bose. And here's the kicker! The reason I'm writing this review. (Aside from the fact that I wrote one for the website that they refused to post!) First, they're not an authorized Bose Reseller! Second, THEY REMOVE THE SERIAL NUMBER FROM THE HEADPHONES! It's also accessible electronically from the phones, but mine didn't work! He could don nothing. "I'm the end of the line, good ol' Ben said. Granted they were out of warranty, but this is not the way you do business. You sell things you're authorized to sell and you leave the serial numbers on. And, you figure out a way to make your client whole. Not just look at the bottom line. I would have paid some token amount for new headphones. They're fundamental to me and my wife since we live in a small NYC apartment and are zooming during the quarantine. Meanwhile Ben and his colleague made it clear that they're so busy with sales during the quarantine they don't know what to do! Bose offered to sell me new headphones, even without the S/N for a few bucks more. It still amounts to paying twice for the same thing, but at least they're new. DO NOT PATRONIZE THESE PEOPLE. They don't understand anything about what it really means to be in business and have customers. And clearly are rushing to the bank to boot worried about cutting into their rising profit during this terrible time.

OWC package causes fine due to undervaluation, customs issues arise
Package sent by OWC to an undisclosed location causes fine due to incorrect valuation by OWC. OWC stated value 0,00 USD. Real package value 94,99. Customs charged me a 206,00 USD fine for incorrect declaration by OWC. An advice pdf stated: 'Include a valuation figure that is completely accurate to your knowledge. If customs officials have reason to believe the valuation of your goods is not correct, this can be a reason for them to hold a package.' Buying Ram new costs 94,99 + 30,64 shipping + 60% taxes, totaling $201,01 USD. Received under guarantee for 277,00 USD. OWC claims these are standard duties and taxes but did not explain why it is cheaper to buy new. On 02 June , I requested a replacement for defective Ram. RMA: 695420F17R-L-JI. Invoice omitted. Tracking: 1Z92X7X86772257829. Brazilian customs stated, 'The customs inspector concluded that the amounts stated on the invoice were in discrepancy with the actual amount and then corrected the amount for taxation and applied the fines.'

Hello, I returned a 4.0TB OWC Envoy Express Thunderbolt 3 Bus-Powered SSD on January 7, 2022, using *** Priority Mail with tracking number ***. I purchased a return shipping label on *** and sent it to Other World Computing *** as instructed since OWC does not provide return shipping labels. I have attached the return label and other relevant emails. Despite the successful delivery occurring over two weeks ago, I have not yet received a refund. As I could not contact this company, I am contacting Complaintsboard.com. May I please receive a refund of $811.73 for RMA #*** as the merchandise has been returned?
I bought a *** drive from OWC in December .Mercury Electra 6G ***, 1TB This drive failed completely in February 2022.I inquired at OWC and they told me, that the *** has only 3 years warranty. This *** was in a Mac computer and not heavily used at all. It just quit completely and I lost all my data. The odd thing is, that it quit just 2 month after the warranty expired. After I complained about that, they told me, that is the end of its service life. That is just ridiculous. How can a *** have a short service life like that. I suppose they have it programmed to fail after the warranty. The drive is not even accessible any longer. Tried on 2 different computers and it is just dead and does not show up at all.
I paid allot of money for this computer and overnight shipping. It was supposed to be here today and I paid at about 1:42 pm. The business hat more than enough time to send it out of the store yesterday and they never shipped it out and now the overnight shipping was a complete waste of money. I tried to call them and they are closed when I said in the website they are available till 4 pm today, so I tried to live chat 3 times, they never answered and it says it's 24 hours 7 days a week to live chat. I'm furious because I spent allot of money and they just shrugged it off like, they'll get it when they get it.
Purchased a $4000 refurbished mac computer
Purchased a $4000 refurbished mac computer. two months in issues began. wifi card would vanish, as in the computer did see it. work around was t use an ethernet cable... then covid and intermittent jobs, months went by. wifi issue still intermittent. Then the machine started shutting down upon start up or minutes after. no warning signs. the only way to use this mac is to wipe the ssd, reinstall everything then never turn it off. If you turn it off it won't stay on again. now ram is missing and ethernet cable sets mac off, hard. totally ripped off... Contacting tech support can be much like buying a used car. word games and rude dismissive tech support men is a regular. I've had to return 5 out 6 purchases that were either defective or did not work as advertised. Avoid the OWC USBC hub... it corrupted my drive and wasted days of my time. it doesn't work and the software patch will kill your OS. I'm on hold as I type this with them. Was hung up on once already.

I purchased an "Apple Genuine 60W MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook Pro with 1 Year OWC Fulfilled Limited Warranty. (APLMC461LLA) for a total of $45.44 on 7/7. Recently, my laptop started shutting down suddenly, would not charge. I thought the laptop's port, battery was having issues. I took the laptop to both UBreakIFixIt and Apple store. The issue was the "new" "Apple Genuine" adapter. Less than a year old, the product was defective. And both the repair shop and Apple store politely informed me that it was not "genuine". As my previous charger was over 10 years old and lasted without any issue I never suspected an almost new adapter to be at fault. I contacted OWC who refused to provide a refund for a defective product that was also not as advertised stating they "cannot" do a refund. Any business can do a refund. They offered a replacement without any new warranty.

On 03/16, I ordered a Klipsch speaker from OWC, advertised @ 249.99 (349. - 99.01 instant rebate, which they added 2 the cart. The order summary page said, $249.99 was my subtotal before tax. Somewhere between that & my receipt emailed 2 me for $371.69, the 99.01 rebate apparently mysteriously disappeared. I contacted them soon as I saw the receipt (maybe hour after placed order). I said if they weren't going 2 refund the 99.01, then I would like 2 cancel, of course they couldn't do that, but would get back 2 me. I then received an email on 03/17, from a cust. service agent that said he was happy 2 inform me that he was able 2 process a refund of the 99.01 and he would email me when the refund process was completed. On 03/20, I emailed their support 2 ask how long this takes since they were able 2 CHARGE my card in an hr. On 03/22 I received another email saying it's still processing. On 03/27 received email saying if they don't receive a reply, case will be closed. reply to what?

I've spent thousands with OWC over the years and I've just had a brutal customer service experience
I've spent thousands with OWC over the years and I've just had a brutal customer service experience. I purchased the Aura Pro X2 for a 2015 MacBook Pro. Followed instructions to a tee and could not get High Sierra installed. I was finally able to clone the existing drive to the Aura and the operating system with the Aura drive lasted about 2 hours before it fully crashed and would not boot, or be recognized by disk utility. I spent a solid 30+ hours over the course of a month trying to get the drive to work, only to realize that the drive itself is faulty. This has happened before. Very poor quality control. I'm able to get a refund, although OWC refuses to refund the $60 in shipping I paid for a faulty drive. OWC is also refusing to refund the Envoy external enclosure, which I purchased to try and troubleshoot the faulty drive, only to discover in the fine print after the fact ONLY works with Apple OEM SSD's and is NOT even compatible with their own drives. OWC has no respect for people's time investment and expect us as customers to be liable for their defective products.
In December in response to OWC online advertising I purchased a 2017 **** computer subject to stated warranty provisions
In December in response to OWC online advertising I purchased a 2017 *** computer subject to stated warranty provisions. Shortly there after I purchased from OWC a OWC Thunderbolt 3 Dock to augment the ports and features of the ***. It proved impossible to make it function even with several contacts with customer service. They sent me a second dock which also could not be made to work with the new computer. Their customer service was at a loss and eventually stopped returning my emails. I sent them a formal email request to honor the warranty provisions and they ignored that. Weeks later I purchased a highly-rated Thunderbolt 3 dock from another vendor and that also would not work. It was clear that my OWC-supplied *** computer was the problem, not the dock. I called Apple service center and they said this computer needed to be taken to a authorized service center. The local service center was partially closed due to Corona virus shutdowns and could not readily accept the computer. In any event, under the provisions of the OWC warranty and I believe the Uniform Commercial Code (at one time) it fully and squarely the responsibility of the vendor to resolve this situation in my favor. I have served them again with a second formal notice and complaint to which they remain unresponsive.

I bought a used piece of electronics equipment from OWC and it was not working correctly out of the box
I bought a used piece of electronics equipment from OWC and it was not working correctly out of the box. I immediately called them and spoke to a technical support rep for over an hour about the situation. The next day, after making sure it was the unit that was at fault, I sent it back through an RMA for replacement. After waiting over 1 1/2 weeks, I called them to see if they had sent me back a replacement unit. I then talked to an OWC rep and he was having difficulty finding out what was going on with the replacement unit. He then told me he'd call me by the end of the day with an answer. I waited till 7 pm est for a call back and never got one. When I called OWC the rep could still not get ahold of a supervisor, but said he'd keep trying. I then got a call back from him stating that the unit I sent back had the wrong cable and power supply and that they were going to charge me a restocking fee. Keep in mind that this was a used piece of equipment and what I sent them was exactly what they sent me. Also keep in mind that while they were testing the unit, there was never any calls from them to me about these accessories being wrong. That only came up when I asked for my money back. OWC is going to whatever lengths they can in order to not fully refund me my money. They have their unit and all I want is a full refund.

Purchased an upgrade for my Mac Pro computer
Purchased an upgrade for my Mac Pro computer. This upgrade is advertised as having "Continuous Compatibility" and a 5 year warranty. Also the upgrade requires that a component be removed and replaced with the OWC component. I purchased this upgrade in 2019, installed and discarded the original component as I was in not instructed to keep. Additionally OWC states on the website that the component has "no hassle or compatibility hacks". The problem is that my Mac Pro computer needs to have the operating system in order to maintain performance and security, but the upgrade fails with the error "Compatible internal storage is required in order to update" I contacted OWC support and was told, in order to load the upgrade I need to old component, or I need to purchase a replacement component from them, pay for shipping both ways, crack open the computer, install the new component, upgrade the *** Pro, remove the component, install the original, then send back to them for a refund, minus the shipping both ways. This is deceiving and not congruent with what is posted on their website. The component is on completely compatible as they claim, and their solution is a compatibility hack, which they also counter claim.I purchased on 10-15-2019 on Sales Order *** Attachments:Sales Receipt Support transcript Website excerpt with claims

1st time user, and NEVER ANY MORE !
1st time user, and NEVER ANY MORE !Their site was running some sale on NEW items, and despite the fact that I almost never buy electronics on other site than *** or Amazon, because of the buyer protection you have there, I wanted to try this site as it was recommended by a friend.I've bought a few new items that were on sale, including a 525GB Crucial MX300 SSD drive for $52.75 that was presented in a way by their listing page that tricked the customer (me) to think it was a NEW item. *** Order *** placed on December 28th.Upon receiving the drive, I saw right away that it was a used one, as it arrived in a generic packaging, and not the official Crucial one. I never buy any used computer drives, as they tend to fail quickly, especially SSD! I have contacted the support right away about the issue, asking for a *** Their response was:"After reviewing your request, we have determined that your return is not eligible and has been Rejected. " I have contacted Lauren through their chat system, who also told me that "Regrettably, the 525GB Crucial MX300 memory is not refundable since it is a clearance item". Nowhere near the listing (which is conveniently gone from their site now) was any mention of this no refund policy on clearance items, so this merchant also violated California Civil Code section *** by not clearly displaying their limited or no return policy.I want to be able to return this used item and get refunded of this item price, which was $52.75 + tax.

On 11/07 I purchased an "2.0TB Aura Pro SSD" hard drive for $622.04
On 11/07 I purchased an "2.0TB Aura Pro SSD" hard drive for $622.04. This drive is listed as having a "5 Year Warrantee", but it failed after just six months of use. It was a catastrophic failure, I could not boot up the drive or get my computer to recognize it at all. All data was lost. After chatting with an online support representative, I was told to ship the drive back for repair or replacement, which I did. After OWC computer received the drive they said they could not honor the warrantee because a "sticker" was removed. They claimed that removing this sticker was a violation of the warrantee. I informed that I had removed no stickers from the drive, and pointed to their warrantee documentation that contained no information about removing an stickers from the drive. In fact, their documentation said nothing about stickers at all! They claimed that the sticker said "Warrantee Void if Removed". I did not attempt any physical repairs to the drive. I did nothing other than instal and remove the drive. I would have had no reason to removing any stickers. They claimed that I removed it, but could not provide proof that there was ever a sticker on my drive. After several requests to see an example of what this sticker would look like, they finally provided one, and the sticker did not say anything about a "warrantee" -- it merely said "Void if Removed." What was "void?" There was no documentation saying what would be voided. Additionally, this is a CHIP drive. There are no moving parts. The sticker covers no "tamper proof" seals or screws that would allow interior access to the drive. The only reason a sticker like this would be added is to provide Other World Computer (MacSales.com) a way of NOT honoring their warrantee. It does nothing else! After several weeks of trying to resolve this issue with their customer support, I have no choice but to buy a new drive from a different vendor. I need my computer operational again, and cannot wait any longer.

I have been a good customer of OWC and spent no less than $4,500 there in the last three years
I have been a good customer of OWC and spent no less than $4,500 there in the last three years. On December 2, I purchased a new Mac Pro. They were offering a $300 instant rebate and this made the final price $1,648. Then, on December 28, OWC sent out an e-mail promotion for the same product for $300 less than I paid, or $1,348. It is a generally accepted practice in retail that if something you buy goes on sale shortly after you buy it, the reseller will make things right and credit you back the difference. This is done to avoid consumer procrastination and improve consumer confidence. I feel like OWC owes me the $300 difference. I've made two attempts to address this with OWC. First, I used their e-mail portal to contact them. I received no response. Then, on January 5, I contacted their customer service line and spoke with *** I sent Brian a screen grab of the December 28 (lower) advertised price and he compared it with my invoice on file, and could see it was the same product & configuration for $300 less. At first, he said because these are used or refurbished products the prices are not directly comparable. But I pointed out in both cases these are "new, factory-sealed" Mac products, which he could see was true. He said that they do not have a price protection policy per see, but that he realized I could have returned my first purchase and re-purchased the same item at a lower price, and for that reason, he was going to try and do something for me. A day later I got a terse e-mail saying that because the SKUs were different they were not going to be able to do anything. But this was not true. I checked the SKU numbers on my invoice and on the later advertisement and they are identical (UAGA3HS6IXXX0XG). I wrote back yesterday and said that the prior explanation and conclusion was not satisfactory. I documented the SKU details. I received no response, and I don't want to call, wait on hold, and only get someone who is not empowered.

OWC provides an install kit, which includes everything needed to remove the screen and install the hard drive
OWC provides an install kit, which includes everything needed to remove the screen and install the hard drive. They also provide a video to follow along to, which I did. 3 months later, my screen has fallen off and needs to be replaced. I contacted OWC to explain. On my first call, Josh says they would need an email from me with photos to investigate and make sure it was not user error. Since i followed the video carefully and used only their install equipment, I assumed it would be fine. 7 hours go by and I dont get the email from josh. So I go on chat, I ask a Catherine to send me the email Josh was going to send, for a screen investigation, and she spends an hour being rude to me telling me to "cooperate" or she will hang up. She hangs up. I do the chat again, and this time she sends it. But so does another rep. The two reps send me two different emails, which seems weird, like they have no standard procedure. By now, the investigation that was supposed to be done in an afternoon has been 3 days. I call back. This time I ask to speak to a supervisor. When I speak to the manager, I learn they still have not done the investigation, and I literally am put on hold while he investigates. He comes up with a BS reason why I am at fault. At this point, I see they are not trying to help, they are disorganized, and I need to escalate again. Since they made their decision using images they said were "small and had to be blown up" I email the CEO with clearer images and a video to show the part of the computer where they say I left untaped. I know for fact I taped every inch. The CEO replies saying this is no way to treat a customer and they will take care of the repair/warranty and same day ship it. But that was 12 days ago. Now, I am being told "before we make promisses" we want to make sure we have the screen in stock. More time goes by, and now the latest is they are "looking to get a screen shipped in and do not want to give you any false expectations on repair time

I purchased a *** Elite Pro USB-C hard drive from OWC (on March 10 for $217.74
I purchased a *** Elite Pro USB-C hard drive from OWC (on March 10 for $217.74. This model comes with a 3-year warranty. When I received the hard drive, I was surprised to find the USB-C cable didn't fit all the way into the back of the hard drive. In fact, the cable barely went into the port. Since this was my first USB-C device, I didn't think much of it. After several months of use where my imac monitor was tilted back and forth with normal use, the hard drive would become disconnected, not physically but the electronic connection would break and I'd receive a warning about loss of data. I contacted OWC who offered an adaptor to hold the cable in place. I accepted this offer but found the adaptor was useless. I contacted OWC again and they offered to replace the drive. Since I had to transfer all my backup data off of the current drive, I needed the replacement before I could return my defective drive. To do this, OWC required a credit card deposit for the cost of the drive, which I provided. When I received the new, replacement drive it had the exact same problem. I sent photos and videos to OWC which they acknowledged and said was probably a defective cable. I tried multiple USB-C cables and none of them fit all the way into the port. I was concerned about the integrity of my backup data and did not want another defective drive. It was clear that OWC's USB-C drives were defective and I needed a reliable drive for my backup data. I asked that my defective drive be replaced with the older (less expensive) USB connection. To do this, OWC said that I would have to buy the new drive and they would refund the cost of the most expensive drive minus a restocking fee. They expect me to pay a fee for the TWO DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS they shipped me! The return process was a fiasco. They took weeks to process my returns and failed to refund my credit card the $217.74 they promised. They eventually offered a refund $185.08 because they wanted me to pay a 15% restock
