I just had to share my terrible experience with PCHub.com. I was searching for a replacement CPU fan for my Asus K401 laptop as it was making strange noises while spinning. I tried to clean it out, but it was still making noise. I found the exact same part number on PCHub.com, and they claimed it was new and original, so I decided to make the purchase. Since I needed the replacement fan urgently, I opted for DHL Express shipping, which I paid for.
The expected processing and delivery duration were as follows:
PCHub.com Processing Time upon payment received: 1 to 3 working days
DHL Express Shipping Duration: 4-6 working days
However, after paying for both the item and DHL express shipping, I received the worst after-sales customer service ever from PCHub.com! They have an office number listed on their website, but calling that number is useless as it seems like that number is disconnected.
Here's what happened:
Aug 24,1.27pm: I made the purchase and received a system-generated confirmation and purchase receipt.
Aug 27,3.33pm: PCHub.com's customer care emailed me to inform me that the item I purchased was no longer available in new condition, but they had a used one. I was given two options:
Option A: Accept the used item, and they would refund me USD $7.
Option B: Cancel the order, and they would make a full refund.
Aug 27,3.56pm: I replied to PCHub.com and informed them that I would accept Option A. Additionally, I told customer care that I needed the item shipped out ASAP as it was already Friday, and I needed the item urgently.
Aug 27,5.31pm: Customer care replied and informed me that they received my option and would ship out my item within two days. I would receive my item in five days from today.
Aug 27,7.14pm: Customer care emailed me to inform that they had found a new fan for the item I ordered from another source. The item would be shipped out next Monday and would be shipped from Shenzhen to Hong Kong. From Hong Kong, DHL would take over to ship to Singapore.
Aug 27,7.25pm: I replied to customer care and thanked them for the update. I also informed them to hurry and get the item packaged and ready for shipment. I reiterated in bold words that I needed the item urgently; otherwise, I wouldn't have chosen the DHL Express shipping option. I also highlighted to them that my item should be picked up by the courier in Shenzhen early morning on Aug 30 at 8 am.
Aug 28,4.49pm: Customer care replied that they acknowledged and noted all my points made in my email reply on Aug 27,7.25pm.
Aug 30,7.12am: I emailed customer care to inquire if my item had been picked up by the Shenzhen courier yet. If not, what was the scheduled time for pick up by the courier in Shenzhen.
Aug 30,5.11pm: Since I received no response from PCHub.com for ten hours, I sent another email to customer care informing them that I had not received any updates and needed to know where my item was.
Aug 30,6.10pm: Customer care finally responded and emailed me to inform me that my item was on the way and that it was shipped out that day.
Aug 30,9.30pm: I replied to customer care informing them that I was extremely disappointed with the after-sales service I was receiving and the lack of and slow response and updates of my order item. I included three very basic and specific questions that I needed answers to:
1. What time did the courier in Shenzhen pick up my item for shipment to Hong Kong?
2. What is the tracking number of my item from Shenzhen to Hong Kong?
3. Where is the exact location of my item now?
Aug 31,1.12pm: Customer care replied and informed me that my item had just reached Hong Kong. They also informed me that they were unable to respond promptly to the questions I raised. Additionally, there could be additional delays on the shipment as well. Since PCHub.com was unable to provide me with satisfactory customer service, they canceled my order and made a full refund.
Throughout all my email correspondence with PCHub.com, I never typed any words in caps, nor were any of my emails aggressive. All my emails' words and tone to PCHub.com were professional.
I am utterly upset and disappointed with PCHub.com mainly for the following reasons:
1. As I highlighted to PCHub.com about the urgent need for my item, they did not provide prompt updates and responses to me, especially on Aug 30, where they took 11 hours to update me.
2. My request to know where my item was from my email to customer care on Aug 30,5.11pm, and the three very basic questions from my email to them on Aug 30,9.30pm, I am extremely disappointed that they could not provide me with precise answers to those basic questions. I am also surprised that after the courier in Shenzhen picked up the package en-route to Hong Kong, PCHub.com was not able to provide the tracking number. This means that if the package is lost during transit from Shenzhen to Hong Kong, PCHub.com will have no clue about it!
3. They went ahead to cancel my order without checking with me first if I wanted to cancel. This is extremely ridiculous and totally unprofessional! What puzzles me is since the item had already arrived in Hong Kong, they should have continued its transit instead of "taking the initiative" to cancel it.
My overall experience with PCHub.com from this incident tells me never to look at them again if I ever need any laptop parts. I implore anyone who reads my above experience to steer clear of PCHub.com too.
