Penn Credit robo calling

This company called my mom house talking about I owe money for something. When I returned call they wanted to know what number was called. I'm not telling them any info they should already have. The manager was very rude and I suspect they were trying to reach someone else. I don't owe anyone and they need to remove my name or send me something in writing.

Penn Credit medical billing

I received a bill from Penn Credit using the ACA International Credit and Collection Professional logo. The bill is for medical services rendered.. Kostelac, Sage Kayleen (?) in Monongahela Valley Hospital. This is the way it is written in my letter. I am taking it for granted that Kostelac is the one that delivered some service.

The letter was addressed to Unknown Unknown and my address in Georgia. I have never been to the hospital mentioned and they were kind enough to give me an account number with balance outstanding... I have 30 days in which to notify them.

To Expedite credit to my account return payment to P. O. Box 1259, Dept: 91047, Oaks, PA 19456

Unknown will not pay this bill.

Yours truly
Unknown

Got a letter from:
""...

P.O. Box 1259, Department 91047
Oaks, PA 19456

...""

It's addressed to the former home owner (not me) however I'd like to write them back. They didn't provide much information on the envelope so I'm glad I came across this website about the sender.

Is Penn Credit Legit?

Penn Credit earns a trustworthiness rating of 91%

Highly recommended, but caution will not hurt.

Our conclusion: After a detailed review, ComplaintsBoard finds Penn Credit to be a trustworthy company. Although there's a 16% resolution rate for customer complaints, which deserves attention, Penn Credit is known for their high standards and safety. If you're thinking about dealing with Penn Credit, it's wise to check how they handle complaints.

We found clear and detailed contact information for Penn Credit. The company provides a physical address, 3 phone numbers, and 2 emails, as well as social media account. This demonstrates a commitment to customer service and transparency, which is a positive sign for building trust with customers.

A long registered date for penncredit.com can be seen as a positive aspect for Penn Credit as it indicates a commitment to maintaining the website and its domain name for a long period of time. It also suggests that the company is organized and has taken steps to secure its online presence.

The age of Penn Credit's domain suggests that they have had sufficient time to establish a reputation as a reliable source of information and services. This can provide reassurance to potential customers seeking quality products or services.

Penncredit.com has been deemed safe to visit, as it is protected by a cloud-based cybersecurity solution that uses the Domain Name System (DNS) to help protect networks from online threats.

However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:

  • While Penn Credit has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. As a result, only 16% of 25 complaints are resolved. The support team may have poor customer service skills, lack of training, or not be well-equipped to handle customer complaints.
  • Penncredit.com has relatively low traffic compared to other websites, it could be due to a niche focus, but could also indicate a potential lack of traffic and popularity. The penncredit.com may offer a niche product or service that is only of interest to a smaller audience.

Penn Credit calls trying to collect a debit

Today I received a call stating they were a collections agency trying to collect a debt. They were looking for my husband but had my cell number, didn't make sense. Said they couldn't release any details until I verified my husbands DOB or address. I gave DOB and they said it was for a $45 parking citation from March of 2016. My husband never got a citation (I asked him). When I told them I needed more information and that this seemed fishy, the guy got short with me, said they are just a third party collections and I can make a payment over the phone. I said I wasn't giving him any money because none of it made sense and the guy hung up on me.

My concern is that these jokers have bits and pieces of our information. Please put a stop to this scam, judging by the complaints I've read online, they are out of control.

I received a letter from them stating that my daughter owes $62.00 from the Virginia Department of Taxation. I knew right away that it was a scam since I help my daughter with her income tax returns. With all the complaints and violations posted here for years, I am flabbergasted to know they are still in operation. These leeches will get their karma - guaranteed.

Penn Credit debt collection

Calling my wife who has a fairly common name (uses a robo-call) with selections on "how she wants to pay for her debt". Had to call the original company who says she owes noting according to their records. Called this company back who says "you've never lived in Kentucky?" I about blew a gasket (since we live in PA). What kind of company uses a common name then starts calling someone with the same name several states away!

Call the PA Attorney General's Office about them.

Penn Credit unauthorized utility collection charges

Penn Credit has been a stain on my credit report since November 2014 related to First Energy Metro Edison electric utilities company.
After verbal confirmation from Met Ed that my closed account was paid in full, I contacted Penn Credit to inform them of this mistake.
However, Penn Credit never closed the account based on this error.
How does this happen, when I completed the payment plan with my utility company?
Penn Credit provided no proof that Met Ed enlisted their services.
Met Ed states my account was closed in good standing.
Penn Credit needs to close this unauthorized account in order to remove this stain on my credit report!
Sincerely,

Denise Klein

Penn Credit false report on my credit report that is affecting my credit score

I just recently checked my credit report. There a claim on there from Penn Credit from 2012, I have never heard of these people and I would like to have it removed from there. I have seen many comments on their website about the company harassing people and giving false information.. I was a little baffled when I saw their name on my credit report. I pay my bills even if I sometimes have to make payment arrangements. There is no way I have a charge off. I copied and pasted below:

Penn Credit Robo-calling

For the past month I've been ignoring calls from Penn Credit coming from [protected]. Finally I decided to try and speak to someone. After a few calls, I got ahold of a representative (Diego), who explained that Penn Credit is a collection agency. To their credit, I was able to speak to a representative, and then his manager.

After speaking to division manager Sean Foley, I discovered that in trying to get ahold of someone who owes money, Penn Credit simply starts robo-calling anyone with a matching name, even if the address does not match, such as is the case with me. I expressed annoyance at this practice, and Sean said "well, we're not doing anything wrong." I guess it is cheaper for them to robo-call the wrong person than it is for them to cross-reference my name and phone number in the white pages and realize they have the wrong person.

Of course I asked them to remove me from their list. I certainly hope they do. What an annoyance. He expressed surprise that I found negative postings online about them. I had no problem, simply googling Penn Credit and there were the negative comments.

Given a choice, I urge you to take your business somewhere besides Penn Credit.

Penn Credit Debt collection

this company sent me a letter saying they were hired by PA EZ PASS to collect 115$ past due balance from me. I do not owe ez pass any money, and when you do owe them money they send several letter notifying you, and your registration can/will be suspended way before they send it to collections, if they even do that. this was real fishy. i tried calling the number on the letter and it says business hours are m-f 8am-10pm. i called at 530pm and a VM saying I'm calling after business hours came on. very strange again. i don't think this is a legitimate company.

Penn Credit unauthorized debt collection

Received a letter stating I owed $16, 776.67 in taxes from the state of maryland from 2009. The thing is i have never worked or lived in the state of maryland. This smells totally fishy as I see another complaint mentioning that they were also asked to pay Maryland state tax when they had not lived there.

Not sure whether i should try and track down my 2009 DC state tax return and send it to them or ask them to validate the debt.

Penn Credit Completely 100% FABRICATED "debt collection" letter

On May 9, 2016, I received a letter from Penn Credit stating that I owed $1, 500 for a deposit to my account made by "Check by Phone".

I have never in my life received anything from, or even heard of, "Check by Phone". When I did an internet search, it does not seem to exist.
Also, the letter is dated 03/31/16, but the supposed "deposit" occurred on 04/08/16 - how is that even possible?

This fraudulent letter upset my mother-in-law to tears because she thought it was legitimate. This company is nothing but an underhanded scheme, and whoever works for them should be ashamed of themselves.

Penn Credit Debt Collection

Not professional, unkind - all over a $25 bill I owed the hospital that was an incorrect charge. I had 6 surgeries in 7 months. I had breast cancer. I have multiple sclerosis. I asked to speak with a manager to explain that this charge should have been waived because I was told there would be no copay. I spoke with a manager by the name of Sean Foley who shouted at me and was very unkind. Totally unprofessional.

Penn Credit Theft of money while working for the state of il

During a divorce a judge working for Cook County, IL ordered me to give a $30, 000 vehicle to my ex. a year later I receive a letter from penn credit saying I owe $265.00 for a title transfer. I called the IL Dept. of Motor vehicles and explain that they made a mistake because the car was still owned by the same person that had already owned it. The girl at the DMV said" this is a mistake but it don't be my job to fix it". I had to pay penn credit $265.00 to avoid being dragged into court. If you are an attorney reading this I welcome you to start a suit on my behalf for hundreds of millions of dollars against the state of IL, the judge, penn credit.

Penn Credit Debt Collector

I received repeated phone calls on an unlisted phone number that I use for my business. Finally answered one to make the calls go away. Penn was calling for my adult son, who lives in a completely different state. This number has never been associated with my son, was obtained 5 years after he moved out of state, is not associated with an address he has ever lived at and I doubt he even knows the number. This is flat out harrassment, a violation of the DNC list AND a complete waste of my time. There should be a law that they have to pay me for the inconvenience.

Penn Credit I am not the person that owes them any money

They keep calling my house number looking for my sister-in-law. I have told them several times to quit calling, but they still call several times a week and I am fed up with them. As you know it is annoying to say the least. My sister-in-law does not live here. They started calling 2 months ago several times a week and no matter what I do they won't stop calling. I have told them she does not live here and this is not her phone number.

Penn Credit professionalism and defensive

A letter was sent out to me concerning a debt. On Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at 09:15 a.m. Eastern Time a phone call was placed to your customer service department, by my POA. Because I was seriously injured in an automobile accident, it was recommended by physicians to have someone assist with daily and stressful activities, i.e., collections. The first rep introduced themselves, and then my POA explained “I am calling on behalf of said person as her POA to resolve this debt. However in order to do so I just need to know the name and address of the Chief Financial Officer.” After much debate on why I need this information and why I could not just make the payment with them. I inform the rep “I am registered through the UCC and in order to pay from my corporate account I need to send the CFO the financial statements and addendum along with the other required documents so we are able to get the account resolved." I was then put on hold and another rep was transferred to me and I had to explain the whole reason for the call and that I just needed the CFO name and address. At this point the second rep was clearly agitated and rudely stated “I’m just going transfer you to a supervisor, ‘cause I don't know what you are talking about." and without saying “hold please” the line went blank. Once the first supervisor (Shawn /Sean Folley) got on the line, I again explained who I was, what I needed so I could resolve this persons debt. He was extremely displeased. Stating things like “I don't know why and I have never heard of this" we don't have one of those (CFO). So when I repeated what he said and also reminded him that my line is also a secured line and is being recorded, he continued an unpleasant and hostile rant about the CFO doesn't have authority over this matter and there is nothing I can do but just pay so how do I want to handle it, and he gave the various payment options. I again told him I just need the CFO name and address to do so. I also explained that he may not be familiar with this process because it is not for his level of employment and that's why I am asking for CFO information. Somehow the lines were disconnected, so I commenced to call back, this time when I gave my information to the rep, she immediately transferred me to another supervisor (a women). As I began to explain everything over again, but before I can speak; she was speaking over me, loud talking me, I guess to show authority. When I tried to finish speaking she just talked louder. Bringing attention to how rude in her tones demeanor over the phone and her voice inflection; I stated I am the client trying to resolve an issue so why are you taking this so personal?” She then stated that " Let’s get this straight you are not my client!", with much attitude, hostility and arrogance. Needless to say I have not gotten any information I have requested from them just continuous unprofessionalism, rude and disrespectful behavior. I am hoping that this is looked into and addressed immediately. A letter of apology would also suffice. I did manage to get ID numbers and names of all those I can into contact with that morning., : Shawn or Sean Folley #13, Jeremy Zook #574, Megan Brapcho #539 and melody Gaskins #26..Please be advised a copy of this complaint will be mailed to corporate office, my attorneys and other parties involved in this case. irst call was at 09: a.m. eastern.

Penn Credit Unprofessional employee

I received a notice of collection and I called the collection agency to find out more information about my notice, and I just came across to very rude and unprofessional person (a man), who did not want to give any additional information I was asking and he hang up on me. I have to say that I was calm and I was trying to see to whom I should talk in regards the medical bill that I had. I understand that nowadays there are a lot of people in debt, but they also, have to know that some people get a collection note by mistake.
unfortunately, i do not know the name of the man, but i called on November 18th 2014 at 2:20 pm, and i am hopping they have the record of my discussion with him, so he gets a courtesy lesson, because I also work in customer service filed, and if I would behave myself like this, I will be fired right away.

and I called again and then a lady helped me with what I needed, (she was very nice and polite) I asked her to whom I talked before and of course she did not give me the name... She said she can provide the ID # only...

Penn Credit ILLEGAL COLLECTION PRACTICES

My parents have received 2 or 3 calls from this company over the past 2 weeks, and each time, it's a recorded call that asks for me by name, and then proceeds to state that I need to call them regarding an account (and it states the dollar amount owed).

This is illegal. FDCPA protects consumers from this sort of violation of privacy. It is against the FDCPA to contact anyone other than the consumer and give them specific information about the consumer's debt (like the amount owed) unless they can confirm that they are speaking to the consumer in question, or they have written permission to speak to someone else, or if the consumer has confirmed it is acceptable to leave a detailed message at the number they called.

I called the creditor in question, confirmed that I did indeed forget to pay off an old bill (a book club account, my fault for forgetting about the bill, and I accept responsibility for it), and I made payment arrangements with the original creditor - NOT with Penn Credit. I then called Penn Credit, and advised them of the arrangement, and asked them to note it in my account. Now get this - the rep from Penn Credit said, "ok, no problem" and was going to hang up - HE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE MY CONTACT INFO, ACCOUNT NUMBER OR ANYTHING ELSE WITH WHICH TO NOTE THIS INFO ON MY ACCOUNT! They would have turned right around and called again tomorrow - and probably will anyway - even though I gave them my info to note this on my account. I'm sure the one I spoke to didn't write it down or anything - he sounded like he was just acting like he took my info to appease me. This company is shady, shady, shady - don't fall for their tricks. Call your original creditor and deal with them directly - you don't have to deal with these yahoos.

Penn Credit Unprofessional Collection Agency

Paying off debts is a difficult thing, especially when the dealing with a lot of hassle for a debt that isn't valid to begin with.

Due to my EZPass transponder not reading properly the Delaware Transportation Authority turned a debt over to Penn Credit. What was initially an $8 debt (to cover the tolls two ways) turned into $108 debt. Admittedly, I did not deal with Delaware Transportation Authority in a timely manner to clear the debt and show I have a valid EZPass that wasn't reading. That said, today when I called Penn Credit to see if I had any options to clear the debt, set-up payment plans, or possibly go back to Delaware/ EZPass to prove the debt invalid Penn Credit was extremely rude, disrespectful, and inflexible.

First I spoke to a girl, who defended the debt telling me it was too bad and there was nothing she could do for me, unless I was ready to make payment. I then asked to speak for her supervisor. When her supervisor, James got on the phone, he echoed a similar sentiment. According to him, the debt was too past due to consider an adjustment, and his only suggestion was to set-up a post-dated check if I couldn't pay in full today. He proceeded to tell me that the state's in a budget crisis too, and helping me wouldn't be very helpful to Delaware. Keep in mind this debt is $100 in fee's on an $8 debt. When I asked if I had any options to prove I have a working, valid EZPass account, he said he cannot recommend or help me with any communication of that type due to Penn Credit's arrangement with the Delaware Transportation Authority.

So I hung up and called Delaware Transportation Authority myself. Within 5 minutes they agreed to pull my debt back from Penn Credit collections and look into clearing the fee's due to my situation. I understand that it is not a collection agency's job to be nice or flexible, it is after all their job to collect debts. Penn Credit just seemed particularly unhelpful and borderline disrespectful. If there are any companies out there looking for a place to manage your collections, I would steer clear of Penn Credit. They are the worst.

psuguy58 -

I don't think anyone took "pity" on me, I believe the source acknowledged the debt was not valid to begin with. Everyone has a right to an opinion, and I agree the $8 should be payed. The truth is, even if the debt was valid and for a significantly higher sum, Penn Credit's level of professionalism was extremely poor. That is the source of my complaint.

This is the first time I've ever had to deal with a collection agency, so maybe they're all like this, but I was surprised by the rude demeanor and lack of help that I received from Penn Credit.

I worked in debt collections, and I never spoke down to anyone. I was a courteous bill collector which made me good at my job. The boss always said I was too nice, but yet I made my quota which always went up every month. You can catch more flied with honey than vinegar!
There is no excuse to be rude and interruptive. If you alienate the person then you have no means in which to collect the bill. I just dealt with this company and filed complaints over then disclosing info to the wrong party. This is in violation of the FDCPA. I also filed with the BBB in Harrisburg, PA as well.
It is not a debt collectors responsibility to be rude, it is their job to collect money and abide by the law. They make it a habit to be rude and in violation of the law. They give bill collectors a bad name!
Remember we are all human and should be treated as such.

you won't get any help from a debt collector. believe me, they've heard all the stories before. part of their job is to be cold and callous. their sole purpose is to get the money. not feel bad for every tom, dick, and harry. i have had to deal with debt collectors several times. not one of them was ever nice and everytime i explained my reasons for not paying it just didn't matter to them. all they want to know is when are they getting their money from you. so don't look for any sympathy from them. you won't get it. and as long as they are not cursing you or physically threatening you than they are acting with professionalism. i actually got sued in court and received a docket number. i wound up on settling on making payments to them as opposed to them actually taking it that far with the courts. don't let it come to that...because then you wind up paying your attorneys fees and their attorneys fees and the court fees and all taxes. so your debt could actually get that out of hand if you don't take care of it now. times are hard and these businesses are now really coming after the people for their money.
