I dropped off my boy for grooming at his 1:00 appt and told them not to shave him. I want a sanitary cut with butt curtains, trim the bottom of his pads, clean up his feathers on his legs but not short, clip his nails, shampoo and dry, remove the mattes in his ears and anal excretion if necessary. They said they will probably have to cut/shave them right away. When the old manager, Deanna, was there she tried everything she could to not cut his length, and I told them that. He was ready not EVEN an hour later, which means they rushed him through. They went right to it and cut them, chopped the hair, it's not even smooth. It usually took at least 2-3 hours to groom him in the past. They texted to tell me he was ready at 2:27. Then they called me a few minutes later and said he was ready. I said, OK, I'm going into a meeting at 3 and will be over to pick him up later. I was told they close at 3:30 and he needed to be picked up before then. I told them that I could always drop my dogs off and pick them up within four hours. They said that would not be possible. I had to rush over there and pick him up without missing my meeting. That put added stress on me. When I got there, I was given the bill and told to go pay, then I could pick him up. I didn't even see him at that time yet. Before, I would get the dog(s), then go pay. I realized why after I saw him. I was so pissed. His ears were very short and butchered up. His overall appearance wasn't what I expected either because I saw some placed that weren't combed out on his one leg and his butt was butchered and not smooth. It looked like an amateur that didn't know how to groom took care of my dog. I looked at him and looked at the girl handing his leash to me and left. I was so mad I was afraid what I might do if I stayed, plus I was rushed to get back before my meeting, which they knew as well. I feel I was taken advantage of and not warned about his ears, which are the CKCS crowning glory when groomed property. I admit there was more matting than normal, but I've been away and sick and couldn't keep up with the brushing as well, but they are supposed to be professional and if they would have worked with him more, maybe soaked his ears and let it sink in, they might have been able to save them a little more than they did. I cancelled my appt I had schedule to get my girl groomed with them and went somewhere else. She was in a similar condition as my boy but looks so much better. They took 2-3 hours to groom her properly, her hair was smoother all over and where they did shave the ears, they look so much better. I will never use the groomers at Petco again unless I get some kind of apology/refund and assurance that this won't happen again.
Desired outcome: I would like a refund or at least a heavy discount for my anguish and anger towards them.
