My mother was on medical aid and used chronic medication. Pharmacy Direct send out chronic medication for 3 to 4 months. She was admitted to hospital on 29 January 2023 and was in hospital until 23 March when she passed on. On 31 March 2023 i emailed Pharmacy Direct and asked them to cancel on chronic medication as my mother passed away. On 19 April i receive an email that states that i owe them R2733.61 for the chronic medication as the membership for my mother was cancelled. I replied back and said they can come and collect the medication as i have no use for it anymore. On 24 March i received a reply back to say that my request was send to the pharmacy to arrange for the collections of this medication. Up until now nobody has come to collect this medicine. Yesterday i received a new account stating i now owe them R3300. I still have the medicine with me. I emailed them again on Monday the 20th asking them when will they fetch the medicine. How can i be held responsible if the send out medicine for 3 to 4 months at a time and the patient passes away and the medical aid was cancelled on 3 April 2023.
Desired outcome: I want them to fetch the medicine and not bill for it.
