My husband purchased a 5 - qt. Pressure cooker and it has been used not that often, one of the handles broke. So he kept on using anyway. But somehow the pressure regulator was misplaced, and we have been looking all over the internet to try to purchase both items. Guest what all we were able to find was a rating / complain page, oh and where to buy them. What surprises me is that a well know dept. Store as jc penneys would sell this kind of products, that as we can see is of inferior quality, and has no way communication policy. Cindy zayas

Got a Philippe Richard 8 qt. pressure cooker for Christmas...what a piece of you know what this is! From the very first time I used it, it did not work. It won't seal properly, leaks all over the stove...I can't begin to say how disappointed I am with it. JCP (place of purchase) is also getting a strongly worded letter concerning the pot...p.s., DO NOT put ANY Philippe Richard cookware in your dishwasher!

I agree with everything I have read about these pans, they are the worse cook ware that I have ever own, plus you can not get a hold of any one to complain. I also got mind at Penneys.

These pans are not even worth the tin cans they are made of. I just got a 21 piece set. The frying pan was really bent and the first time that i used the 5 quart pan the handle broke off. These pans are horrible.

I am another fool who bought into the great price of Phillipe Richard at Penny's. Used only a few times and there is rust on the inside coating. The teflon as well is stained. The screws that hold the handles are rusted too. Big waste of money!

I found this site trying to find the Philippe Richard website. I too could only find complaints. I bought a 31pc Cutlery set for my mom for mother day, from JCPenny's. Once she opened it up, the block had 31 spots for the cutlery but one of them wasn't even hollowed out. I took it back to JCP, and traded the block out. The first box I looked in had the very same problem. It seems as though this company has no quality control department.

I completely agree with you, especially about the health hazard. I bought a set for my daughter. The gray nonstick coating turns brown and emits a strange odor and now in less than 3 weeks is now turning black in spots. I told her to stop using them because I don't think they are safe and the fact that they are made in CHINA is not good either consider past reports of products made in china. We are going to try to return them to JC Penny as defective merchandise. COMPLETE JUNK! I aslo posted a complaint.

this is horrible cookware! I also got mine at Penney's. I wonder if it's some kind of store brand. It's awful, all the non stick stuff comes off and I never use metal, always bamboo and plastic to stir with. I don't scrub with harsh agents, this is the worst cookware I have ever owned

we came to this site looking for a number to call about the rebate that we were due, there is nothing but complaints. what a surprise, I didn't get the rebate because they needed a barcode for item purchased. There was no barcode in the box. I guess that's how they get you. Why do JCP sell this merchandize? They are going to loose loyal costumers.

No bad news yet:
I bought an unused 8 quart philippe richards pressure cooker.
Paid 10 bucks for it.

The sides immediately became stained with black beans, but I can care less. What an idiotic waste of time it would be to keep it looking pretty.

There's no silly teflon coating in my cooker. Despite cooking surfaces being fully metal, the cooker cleans quickly with plain water. No problems with sticking...but I haven't cooked it dry yet.

No problems yet, but anything made with a rubber seal is gonna hit the [censored]ter at some point. Make sure you don't use too much pressure. That rubber is probably not designed for higher temperatures, which are reached with too much pressure and too little water.

Wow. Either I got a really good fluke of a 12 quart pot, or you guys don't know how to handle stainless steel cookware. I used this pot during canning season to make berry syrup, preserves, salsa, ketchup, pizza sauce, and meat stock. It goes in the dishwasher (glass lid with rubberized handle, too) and let me tell you it got a workout in the past year. It's an excellent pot and I'm going to buy more!

I cannot believe I paid money for this junk! These are the worst pots and pans I have ever used. They do not heat evenly and therefore the center of the pans burn. Everything sticks to them no matter how much cooking spray or oil you use and the coating is peeling off. My pots and pans also rust even if I handwash them and dry them, when I take them out of the cubbard they are covered with rust on the inside. The handle of one of the saucepans even snapped off when I was cooking with it. These are going right to the garbage! I also purchased mine from Penneys.

These strange people apparently believe they can run a business on one-time sales, since they don't pay their rebates. All your work making sure that all the rebate provisions are fulfilled is a waste, since there's no evidence that they ever intended to reduce their immediate profits by the honesty of redeeming the rebates by which they sucker us in. Oh well, I guess $20 is a small scam to suffer to find out about these people. After six months all my cookware is in good shape. The experiences of others reported here make me realize I have a lot for which to be thankful. Thank you all. I'll join you in speading the word.

I received a complete set of Phillipe Richard Stainless cookware two years ago for Christmas. I am a retired professional cook who still cooks everyday at home. I think this cookware is wonderful. I have had not the first complaint in using any of it. Cooking with stainless is like cooking with cast iron; there is a right way and a wrong way to keep food from sticking. I never put it in the dishwasher and always wash and dry it by hand. It's been very servicable and I totally enjoy cooking with it.

My only complaint - I can't find accessories for my 12-quart pressure cooker! I need a trivet and a steamer basket! Anyone have any ideas?

The Philippe Richard cookware set SHOULD NEVER BE USED! It is made of Teflon, a chemical that has been strongly linked to causing birth defects and cancer in human beings. It is also very harmful to birds (pets at home). The US EPA will phase out these type of chemicals by 2015. Teflon is made by DuPont. The company never made people aware that there were serious health risks when the pans are heated on high heat. However, teflon is released regardless because even if a pan is not on high heat, the pan heats up too quickly, and reaches temperatures that cause Teflon particles to start flaking off. There is something known as "Teflon flu" that is associated with using teflon products. I hope JcPenney takes heed of these warnings about the serious health risks of Teflon, and removes these products from their stores very quickly!

My freind just called me to say her Philippe Richard cookware glass top of the pot she was cooking about ten minutes exploded into a thousand pieces. She said if she hadn't turned away she may have been blinded. It didn't surprize me that this was made in china for Phillippe Richard.
Has this happen to anyone else?

Complete garbage. I bought mine from Macy's. It's only been used during holidays, when I needed extra pots. Even so, the non-stick coating has bubbled and peeled. Scratches have rusted. The only thing positive is that the pots haven't warped and the handles haven't melted or snapped off.

I have had my 2 pieces for years and I have never has a issue until a few weeks ago my 18/10 stock pot's bottom started to bubble and I was stillusing it and now when I do black smoke come out of the sides where I assuem it should be welded to the body of the pot. I have stopped putting my frying pan in the dishwasher. I think that may be the issue. I am sad that there is no one to complain to. I guess JC Penny has much to answer for. This maybe a store brand. That maybe why we cant find anyone to speak to of this issue. I have had my pots for just about 15years. So I guess I cant be to mad.

I received my 8 qt. pressure cooker for Christmas of 09.. This cooker is used several times a week.. I haven't had any problems getting it to seal. It cleans up nicely.. No rust nothing wrong with the finish.. Like oilofgladness I haven't had any problems with it.. If you want a complaint I can tell you about one I bought from HSN and now can't get any parts for it.. Company bellied up.. So stuck with a cooker I can't get a gasket for.. So there is garbage in most any company.. Depends on quailty control.. If they give a crap about the product they are making..

The company is Table Tops Unlimited. They have several brand-names and philippe Richards is one of them.

I had a stainless steel tea kettle, so all the care cautions about not overheating on a gas stove really should not be applicable, because you require high heat in order to get the water to boil. Placing it on a smaller burner will not boil water (unless maybe you wait hours until most of the water evaporates and you are left with a small enough amount of water to get it to boil).

So the pot got all black and brown around the outside, corroded around the bottom edge, and either it always had a tiny leak which worsened this process or it happened after usage, but either way, it eventually got bad enough where we noticed it had a slow leak. Upon investigation we saw a hairline crack.

Warranty is a process and cost you shipping and handling both ways- you have to send them $8.00 to cover their ship & handle.
This address takes you directly to their website- warranty page:

http://www.tabletopsunltd.com/en/main.html#faq%20warranty?id=66&cl=FAQ

Their phone number is: [protected]

However, you should start by returning to the store from which you purchased the item.

Another GREAT option is that if you paid for it with a CREDIT CARD, there is a good chance you doubled your warranty period (up to an additional year) and can process your claim through VISA or MASTERCARD.
They DO pay you money back and charge you nothing for any processing.

I'm not sure how credit card warranty policies work with Limited Lifetime Warranties like Table Tops a/k/a Phillipe Richards product line. You may get 2 years from purchase date as the maximum period to claim through your credit card.

Best of luck!

I bought the 21 piece knife set from JC Penney's. They have rusted, broken, and turned really dull really fast. They are junk. There is no website of phone number to call. JC Penney's tells me to talk to them. I don't ever want to purchase or receive another Phillippe Richard product again. There are a few knives in there that I haven't had a chance to use more than a few times that have rust on them, like I used them 50 times. Stainless Steel shouldn't rust, and if they can get away with selling their products like that, they are scammers. Especially since they do not have a phone number or website. Sounds fishy to me.

I purchased the Philippe Richard 11" cast iron grill skillet from JCP in August 2010. On December 2, 2010, as the skillet was heating, it cracked before I could put the oil in it. I was so shock that a cast iron skillet cracked. I have had two cast iron skillets for over 25 years and have had only great cooking results. I have to admit I was really disappointed. The skillet was just turning black.

I made my turkey in the roaster and was looking forward in using the dripping from the turkey, but was very disappointed that I had to throw it out because the pans non stick film came off and was found floating in the gravy or what was gonna be the gravy. I will never buy from the company again!

I purchased a Philippe Richard’s Cookware set from JC Penny’s in November 2010. I met all of the requirements; however, I’ve only received one of two rebate prepaid cards. I’ve made several attempts to use the $30.00 American Express rebate card at several stores; however, each time the card is declined. I also made several attempts to call the number listed on the back of the card, but to no avail. After holding on the line for 20 minutes or more and several failed attempts, I’ve given up. I would like to see the state’s attorney look into this matter. Thanks.

Purchased the stainless steel set at some great savings @ JCP. The handles are poorly riveted to the pots. One actually fell off. The dutch oven pot started to get these huge bubbles in between the layers of metal. I have sent both of these pieces to the Tabletops Unlimited address in Carson, Calif. stating that this product is CRAP. Never heard word one from anyone.
