Quite literally the WORST experience I have ever had with a healthcare provider
Quite literally the WORST experience I have ever had with a healthcare provider. They don't even deserve 1 star. I had an appointment with my doctor regarding anxiety and wanting to find a solution that did not require medication or pricey therapy appointments just yet. She pushed and pushed for me to look into medication or therapy and consistently questioned me on why I didn't want to to the point where I was uncomfortable. We settled upon using an Emotional Support Animal and she promised to write me an *** letter. After the appointment, I get an email stating that they would not be writing me a letter because I didn't qualify. This is definitely only because they want me to choose a solution that consistently puts $ into their pocket instead of a 1 time letter. I immediately requested a refund for my appointment and cancellation of my account/for no further charges since I did not receive the services I was promised. I was finally refunded the copay, but then received a *** for around $200. One just for filling out a simple health assessment prior to the call, and one for the visit that was a HUGE waste of my time and I requested not to be charged for. Not only did the doctor make me feel dumb and uncomfortable for not wanting medication or therapy, but she did not perform the services she promised she would AND I got charged an absurd amount for absolutely nothing. I scheduled an appointment for my anxiety and this appointment only resulted in PlushCare giving me MORE ANXIETY. Now I have to figure out how to pay this unexpected ***. DO NOT USE THEM.

It is not apparent that if you book an appointment with Plushcare that they will sign you up AUTOMATICALLY for a $15 a month fee, but they do. I booked a single appointment in Feb. and put in my insurance info (which completely covered the cost of the visit), but the app still insisted that I enter my credit card info for "copay" purposes. I knew I wouldn't have a copay since I've met my deductible for the year, and I thought it was an either/or scenario--use insurance OR sign up for the monthly service. (It's really not as clear as they'd like you to believe it is when you use their app what they're charging you for, and when you're sick, it's even harder to decipher since you're not feeling well!) I never used the app again, but have been getting charged for the membership for three months without a single email letting me know I was enrolled, or a receipt sent to the email address on file letting me know I was being charged. I called them and they were quick to offer a refund, which is about the only positive part of this experience. I also told them to delete my account, which they (presumably) did. Ironically, when I booked my first appointment, I thought it would be great to have a telehealth provider on hand for the future that could use my insurance for billing, and had intended to keep them in mind for that purpose. Them charging me a monthly fee for a service I never signed up for AFTER they got the money from my insurance for the visit is what will guarantee I'll never use them again. Scamming customers--especially sick ones--is a poor and unethical business model. Greed will ruin this company.

I signed up so that I could start a weight loss medication
I signed up so that I could start a weight loss medication. 1- before the appointment started I received an after visit summary thanking me for discussing the following - weight, meds, dietitian etc - except we had not even spoken y et 2- MD stated that I needed labs, I just had full labs done, I asked if I could use these, she said "no, you need to have them done at Quest so that they are directly sent to us. - So later looking at my bank I see an extra $90 withdrawn, I called Plush - they stated it was for labs which i never agreed to pay - now I find out that I can in fact use my other labs 3- I ask for a refund for the apt as I now feel that there is a total lack of transparency. She states that I cannot have a refund despite their 100% money back guarantee bc I had a referral to a dietitian - oh the referral that I said I absolutely do not want because I work in a hospital literally next to a dietitian - well MD sent it anyways apparently 4- Oh now that I stated that I refused the dietitian, now I cannot have the refund bc labs were ordered - even though they shouldn't have been when I stated that I have labs bc their policy is that I can use labs within the last 6 months.5- I bring up how the entire appointment was basically fraud as the documentation was done prior to the actual appointment, before even seeing me. Well...now I get a refund. Overall, not only does this business lack transparency - I would say that they are predatory...any way to make the extra $. I personally cannot recommend them at all and think their practices should be looked into for insurance fraud side note, the lady who took my call was very sweet - if I were her, I would not respect this company at all but she was very apologetic.

I found PlushCare as a telehealth service that could prescribe Paxlovid
I found PlushCare as a telehealth service that could prescribe Paxlovid. It noted on their website that my insurance is in-network and typical out-of-pocket cost is around $30. After entering my state of residence and insurance info, I was taken directly to scheduling. I was never informed of the total cost, although I understood that the service would be submitted to my insurance and Id be responsible for what is not covered. I was shocked when I saw an EOB for $199. That visit was less than 10 minutes with no follow-up or any other orders except for Rx. The provider was in-network and Im still responsible for about $170 (havent met deductible this year). In contrast, non-insurance cost is only $129. I have been in contact multiple times with PlushCare via email. The information on their website is misleading, advertising companies as in-network and typical out-of-pocket cost of $30. There is a contracted fee for services so PlushCare should be forthcoming in the actual cost. If I had seen anywhere that $199 would be billed to insurance, I wouldve considered waiting for my PCP to see me. My visit was not complex. I had mild-mod symptoms and wanted medication. Other telehealth charge $29-69. Stay away from this company and read similar reviews to mine. While the doctor was good, the cost is exorbitant for the service rendered. PlushCare will not address your questions directly and instead will give you a rather condescending explanation of how insurance works. They are missing the point of overcharging for services without revealing the cost upfront, knowing they have contracted rates with insurance companies. Find a better, more cost efficient provider for fast care - Sesame, MinuteClinic, MDLive, Teladoc. You have better options.

I won't rehash what others have stated about the intentionally tricky automatic membership, with billing starting quietly a month after your appointment. It's true and a gross exploitation of sick people when they're vulnerable. The added complication in my story is that I scheduled and paid for a visit for my sick partner in April - I have never personally used the service. Fast forward to May 2022. I noted a $14.99 charge on my bank statement and reached out to PlushCare customer service. I was worried there had been a data breach and my info in their database had been compromised. It took 22 emails with five different PlushCare reps, including at least one supervisor, to reach resolution. I requested a call with a supervisor twice - that went nowhere. They kept bizarrely insisting they could not tell me how this happened because of privacy laws around health information and the account being under my partner's email address. Mind you, no health information needed to be shared to figure out the FINANCIAL issue they had created. Mind you, I had been sitting with him during the video visit when he shared his health information with them. Mind you, he was copied into the thread and confirmed he'd had no dealings with them except that one and only appointment I had set up and paid for, for him. This was purely a financial dispute and they refused to deal with me, the financial account holder, all because I had used my partner's email address to schedule the appointment. The information they refused to share with me but sent directly to his email address (which he forwarded to me) contained NO PROTECTED HEALTH INFORMATION at all, nor explanation. They were simply refund notifications for 12 months of charges. This is a nightmare company and there are plenty of alternatives. Would never recommend anyone using their services.
