Mixed Experiences with J C Anderson Construction
When it comes to J C Anderson Construction, opinions are divided. Some customers have expressed frustration with the lack of response and unmet expectations, highlighting issues with communication and service quality. On the other hand, there are those who have praised the professionalism and efficiency of the team, citing successful project completions and positive interactions. It seems that the experience with J C Anderson Construction can vary greatly depending on individual circumstances and specific project requirements.
Excellent job in hanging my chandelier and he was a
Excellent job in hanging my chandelier and he was a very nice gentleman and very respectful and I was very pleased with my first time using Porch. Looking forward to working with you all again soon! Oh and I wasn't very concerned about not receiving notification before he arrived-it was just a problem when we went to pay and I had not received any link? Just more for your info. It was all good for me. Thank you very much, Linda Stewart
Warm personalized visit from Jose
My partner and I have wanted to replace the lighting in our condo for nearly 10 years. It was always something important for us to get done from our home improvement list. After being contacted by Porch and meeting Jose the handy man who came over and did an amazing job with the instillation we couldn't have been any happier. Jose was great to talk to and he made us feel confident in our purchase. Thank you and we'll be seeing you again for future projects.

Great service!
I needed some doors trimmed after new carpets were installed, but was having trouble finding someone in the area. I was a little skeptical about how simple it was to request the service on Porch, but they were able to connect me with someone to do the job within a week for the day I selected. He reached out to me the day before my appointment to confirm the details, arrived when he said he would, and completed the job efficiently. I'm really pleased with my experience!
Excellent Job!
I was so grateful and relieved to have someone put together my TV stand. I have put things together like this myself in the past but I wasn't confident that I could do this so I'm glad I had this option. When it was over he did an excellent job. I received this service through Walmart and I took advantage of it and I was glad I did because I received my brand new tv the next day and my fianc? and I didn't have to do anything but put it on the stand. Thanks again for the service.
Fast Service
I had a small project in my bathroom, replacing the light/exhaust fan. My skills are limited in that area. Was told about Porch.com and thought I would give it a try. I was contacted by them for arranging a time for the install. The installer showed up when they were scheduled for, and got right into working. They worked for a little more than an hour. When they were done, they cleaned up. They did a very good job. My wife and I were pleased. It was an awesome first time using Porch.com.
Seamless experience
It was a pleasure working with Porch they were very professional doing what they promised to do which is sometimes a rarity today. Their servicemen Adrian was very nice he arrived right on the time which surprised me I'm not used to that kind of home service. Adrian stuck to his work until he was finished and he was patient with my little dog that was a little pest I appreciated that. The price was reasonable. The whole experience was very good I definitely would recommend this service and use it again. Thank you, Porch
Porch.com review: Unreliable contractors and sketchy communication
So, I’ve been looking to repair my storage shed, and ended up giving Porch a try. I received calls from two contractors, named Daniel and Josh, who both reached out to me on the same number. Daniel promptly slapped me with a quote, before even setting his eyes on the pictures I shared with him. When I opposed and sent over pictures of the damage, the bloke still couldn’t see what was wrong despite the images being crystal clear. He demanded that I let him check the problem first-hand, before giving me an estimate. And then, almost audaciously, he even asked me to pay $59 beforehand, “just to come over for an inspection”. Obviously, I wasn’t too comfortable with these shenanigans, especially since I didn’t know him or his company. So, I cancelled the appointment.
Luckily, there was Josh. He offered to have a talk about the project, and I figured, sure, why not. However, when I called up the number he texted me from, the person who answered said he didn't know Josh, which made me a little suspicious. I think Porch should have set up a system whereby-recommended companies each have their separate numbers. If a contractor needs to get in touch, then he/she should leave their own company's number and email, not the general Porch.com one. I guess I'll never know what happened to Josh since I refused to give my debit card numbers to the company. No one at Porch has bothered calling me back since then.
All in all, what seemed like a promising experience fell rather short for me. I didn’t find Porch particularly reliable, and its contractors certainly didn’t make me feel too confident to commit to hiring them.
Porch.com Review: Average Experience with Confusing Navigation and Slow Response Time
2 stars: Not Great
So, I used Porch.com for a project I was working on and it was just okay. The website was a little confusing to navigate and I had trouble finding what I needed at first. But eventually, I found a few contractors that seemed promising and decided to reach out to them. However, when I did finally get in touch, it took them a long time to respond and I almost gave up on hiring anyone through Porch. When I finally did find someone and they came out to do the job, they did an okay job, but nothing outstanding. Overall, I would say it was just an average experience and I probably would not use them again in the future.
Avoid Porch at all costs - My experience as a painting contractor in Los Angeles was terrible
Just wanted to share my experience with Porch - it's not a good one. My company, a painting contractor based in Los Angeles for the past four decades, decided to try out Porch as business has been slow. But unfortunately, we were sorely disappointed with the leads. They were all stale, cold canvassed, and almost always non-viable.
To make matters worse, we had to pay for a vetting background check, which felt like another scam by these companies. We were pressured into a $250 monthly budget until we had to do our own research and discovered the pay as you go option. The agent never revealed this—imagine that.
But the real kicker is when we found out that Porch doesn't make it right when a customer doesn't respond after the requisite number of calls and texts within a three-day timeframe. According to their rules, we were supposed to be credited back. But the bloodsuckers have a rule: if your voicemail is 60 seconds or more, they assume you spoke with the dead lead and no credit. It's ridiculous; contractors leave lengthy voicemails just trying to get a callback. Do you need a stopwatch to deal with these crooks?
In the end, we spent $250 and $130 on Porch, and we only received two estimates—one didn't work out and the other used her cleaning lady's husband and just wanted to compare prices. It's clear that Porch's cold canvassing leads are iffy at best. And the cost isn't worth it.
I also want to add that the leads can cost $48+ and $54+ for unspecified 1-2 or 3-5 rooms to paint. It's absolutely a ripoff. Porch doesn't know how to realistically price leads, and they know nothing about the trades period.
In conclusion, don't use Porch. It's not worth the cost, and they don't have a system in place to make it right. They're only out to enrich themselves and make money off of desperate contractors.
Unprofessional Handyman with Poor Workmanship - Porch Review
So I found myself needing a handyman and thought Porch would be a great place to start my search. Thankfully, I was able to get in touch with a handyman pretty quickly and we communicated by both text and phone. I explained that I needed bathroom and kitchen sink faucets installed which I provided, we agreed on a date and price, and I was ready to go.
However, when my handyman showed up he had his little one with him. Now, bless his heart, the boy was no hassle, but I just didn't think it was professional to have him on the job. Nonetheless, the handyman was a pleasant person. Though, he did have to run around twice to get parts which extended the time it took to complete the job. And, I ended up having to pay for an additional hour plus the parts.
My biggest issue was the fact that I still had to clean up debris left behind after he left. As a matter of fact, when I checked the faucets, it was clear that they had not been properly anchored or sealed on the sink's top. So any water accumulating around the faucets, during normal use, would leak! And, it dripped all the way down to the cabinet floor. Can you believe the nerve!
Needless to say, I refused to take this lying down and I called immediately. I was really trying to set up a time for him to come and fix the shoddy workmanship, but man was it a hassle! Can you believe it took three whole days to finally have him come and address the situation? And the cherry on top? He wanted to come in the evening, when I had already clearly stated that I didn't have service people in my home after the sun goes down. For real?!
I eventually had had enough and told him to forget it. I wasn't about to wait on him anymore. I'd rather look for someone else to fix the issues he created. Honestly, it really left a bad taste in my mouth. A person being paid to do a job should make it their top priority to get back and correct the problem they caused as soon as possible.
Anyway, I sure hope the folks over at Porch will take care of this guy. Maybe make sure he doesn't bring his kid to work with him, and ensure that he properly trains his employees. Because from my experience, I'm not sure I'd be that willing to give them another chance.
Nightmarish Experience: Unprofessional, Unhygienic, and Inconvenient Service from Porch
Oh my goodness, where do I even begin with my experience with Porch? It was an absolute nightmare, to say the least! The person they sent to fix our king-sized bed was completely ill-mannered, asthmatic, and weak. I mean, who sends someone with asthma and no muscle to move such heavy furniture?!
To make matters worse, he showed up in a pickup truck with a dolly to move the bed. He wasn't even wearing the Porch uniform that I was expecting from such a huge company, and instead, he showed up in a tank top and shorts. I offered him a mask and gloves to protect himself and our family, but he refused! He didn't even use the hand sanitizer that I offered him.
The worst part was that he was coughing and sweating profusely, and he didn't even bother to cover his mouth or wear a mask to protect us from his germs. He left his sweat droplets all over our furniture and the floor, and it was extremely bothersome and unhygienic.
In true unprofessional fashion, he created a scene in our apartment complex, and our neighbors all came out to see what was happening. They even said that he looked like a drug user! It was so embarrassing, and now our neighbors are going to file a case against him for creating a disturbance.
As if all of that wasn't bad enough, he only worked for one hour out of the two that we were supposed to pay him for. He spent the rest of his time on his phone, taking personal calls and spending twenty minutes in the restroom! Plus, he didn't even compensate us for the time he wastefully spent.
Thankfully, my younger brother stepped in to help him since he was so weak and asthmatic. However, he left everything in the middle of the main street, causing a huge inconvenience for our neighbors and traffic. It was so rude and unethical of him to leave everything in such a mess.
Overall, my experience with Porch was extremely poor, really horrible, and unacceptable. The person they sent to fix my bed did such a terrible job, and he was extremely unprofessional! In my opinion, Porch should either train their employees better or just close their company, because no one should be subjected to such horrible service!
Don't waste your time and money with Porch- a disappointing experience with their handyman services
I gotta tell ya, folks, this ain't no review you want to miss. If you're thinking about using Porch for your handyman needs, you might want to think again. The people over at Porch didn't seem to give a hoot about me as a customer and that just ain't right.
First off, the fella who set up my appointment didn't seem to be paying attention when I told him what I wanted. He quoted me one price over the phone and then jacked it up when I got the confirmation email. And when I tried to get in touch with someone to talk about it, I was hitting a brick wall. No one was picking up the phone or answering my emails. It was like I was talking to myself!
So when the day of the appointment finally rolls around, I'm hopeful that things will go better. But no luck! The guy shows up an hour late and then tells me it's gonna cost $150 instead of the $239 Porch originally quoted me. Hey, that's great and all, but I have a bone to pick with Porch about that extra dough. I was never told I'd be charged by the minute and I didn't get what I paid for!
And after the handyman left, that's when Porch decided they wanted to start talking to me. Suddenly, they're all up in my business, wanting to know about the $59 charge for the 10 minutes that dude was in my house. And despite all my calls, voicemails, and emails, I couldn't get through to anyone. Talk about frustrating!
Let me tell you, friends, if you want to save yourself some trouble, just skip Porch and find yourself a good handyman nearby. Porch might have a fancy website, but when it comes down to actually getting the job done, they're not worth the hassle.
Porch.com: The Horror Show of TV Hanging Services - A Warning Review
I had placed an order with Porch (porch.com) for hanging my TV. The communication and booking were going great, and the appointment was set for October 3rd, Monday morning. I was sent reminders for the same, but they should have confirmed with the provider. Unfortunately, the provider was sick, and the appointment was re-scheduled to the next day. STRIKE ONE!
On Tuesday, I received a call saying that the provider had quit. I was disappointed but decided to give them one more chance and booked for Friday; however, on the call, it was evident that they had no particular provider in mind, based on which they scheduled it according to my availability. Therefore, the appointment was postponed until they saw a provider available. STRIKE TWO!
Afterward, I was 'confirmed' for Kevin on Saturday morning at 9:00, but it was another no-show. When I reached out to Porch to check what was going on, I was told that the same provider had confirmed his availability at 4:00 p.m. on the same day. Within two hours, I was informed that the appointment was re-scheduled for October 12th. STRIKE THREE!
I was frustrated, and at this point, I canceled my order and gave them a piece of my mind. I received a phone call asking me if I was sure I didn't need the provider at 4:00 p.m. which made me even more frustrated. It appeared that no one knew what was happening, and the provider's presence was being doubted. It was incredibly frustrating as I had given them Five opportunities to get their act together, but nothing had been done right.
In conclusion, I had to call it an end to this terrible experience and let them know. In hindsight, I would not recommend anyone go through the misery I went through with Porch. Make sure you choose someplace else for this kind of service to avoid losing time and money. I would also tell anyone who would listen not to trust this company as the experience was horrific, and no one seemed accountable. It is best to seek alternatives and save your energy.
Unreliable and Unprofessional: My Disappointing Experience with Porch.com
OMG! I can't believe how disappointed I was with Porch.com! I was referred to them through HomeAdviser for a small indoor double door installation project. At first, things seemed great, they contacted me via text and phone call, suggested the date and time, which I agreed to. They kept on sending me reminders through text messages and emails, which was really helpful. However, two days prior to the scheduled appointment, they asked me if I wanted to move it or keep it as is. I decided to keep it as scheduled, and they confirmed it through text message. But, can you believe it? The day of the appointment, no one showed up!
I waited for a while, then decided to contact them through the numbers they provided. I spoke with Mario, who confirmed the appointment was in their system, but couldn't give me any updates. It took around 45 minutes before I decided to call their 800 number, but the person who answered told me that no one accepted the work, and there was nothing they could do. I asked for someone to escalate my concern, but no one ever contacted me back.
Finally, after almost 2 hours of waiting, the Project Coordinator called and said he was an hour and a half late. He mentioned that they couldn't get anyone to come up and that the next available appointment would take more than a week. I was really frustrated and felt like they didn't care about their customers. What I found more disappointing was that the Project Coordinator never apologized for what happened and never attempted to call me prior to the scheduled appointment.
I am so disappointed that I wouldn't recommend using Porch.com for your renovation needs. If it wasn't for me calling them, I wouldn't have received any updates or explanation for what happened. I hope they improve their services to provide better customer experience.
Unreliable Handyman Service: My Disappointing Experience with Pork
Pork is kinda a hit or miss if ya ask me. Last time I used their handyman services it was a miss. They charged me $90 an hour and the dude couldn't even fix a slow leak in my toilet. He said he didn't have an overflow tube, which was causing water to continually leak into the bowl. He adjusted the water level, but the leak didn't stop. Later that day, my whole bathroom was flooded. I was pissd and contacted Pork the next day. Their "project manager" contacted the handyman, but he lied and said he didn't work on the toilet. Can you believe that? I asked Pork to send a new handyman, but they said I had to use the same guy because they already paid him. After 16 times of going back and forth with Pork, they refused to fix the damage. The project manager was super slow to respond. I had to follow up with him every time to get a status update. Their customer service is useless, so I advise you to use a local handyman who cares about quality and reputation. Don't waste your money on Pork.
Porch Review: Sub-par Service with Minimum Benefits for Contractors and Clients
Porch is one of the best online platforms where different contractors can showcase their work, including but not limited to locksmiths, woodworkers, handymen, painters, plumbers, electricians, and many others for specific services. They assure their users that they provide a system where contractors can apply for leads and get the desired work. However, contractors complain that the site often sends unwanted leads that are not worth the money they pay, and they pay anywhere from $10 to $30, depending on the job. Contractors also have shared that they rarely get compensation for these worthless leads, even after requesting a credit.
The site assures contractors and provides them with an option to be a "vetted pro" at an additional cost of $360, offering an auto credit to their account if they buy a lead, and are unable to connect with the client after a few attempts. The automatic credit to your account comes with annual background checks that highlight any criminal activities. However, the site does not have any other requirement to become a 'vetted pro,' and the renewal process is automatic.
We attempted to reach several of the professionals that give testimonials on the Porch website. However, none returned our calls, and we do not consider such happening to be a good sign. In addition, when we went to the site as consumers, it provided a cheap estimate, yet deceptive. Moreover, Porch.com has no way to view contractor profiles, leaving clients with no option to control how their leads are directed. We believe that their current system helps the company generate maximum income with minimum benefit to both contractors and clients.
Other good options for contractors can be found with ToolBelt, JiffyOnDemand, and the ManagedbyQ partner network.
What their users are saying:
Noel Carreaga (Sr.), August 9, 2020: I did a job for porch services, and I was told that I would not be paid for my services rendered, because the customer did not want to pay porch services, hence I would not be paid! This is the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of working with, contractors and 1099 workers STAY AWAY from this company they will send you to a job and then if the customer does not pay them, you will have wasted your time, fuel and energy doing a job and never see a dime for your efforts!
Daryl Durell, June 17, 2022: I would agree with your assessment, I called a "potential " customer from porch.com, and he told me that he took a survey online; the ad he answered was "are your windows older than 5 years, you may qualify for free windows." That is a terrible way to get people interested, and a terrible lead for a contractor.
Anthony Fusco, December 28, 2022: I had been with porch and canceled my enrollment as a contractor because the leads were either out of my area, out of my scope of work, or were unresponsive?.and those that were sent were far and few between.
They convinced me to sign up for "vetted leads" and that proved fruitless as well.
I asked for my $350 balance/ deposit to be refunded, and they refused.
There are no leads in my area, so I can't even try to spend it down.
As a professional, I would recommend staying away from this Porch, as far as you can. DO NOT GET SUCKED IN. It's worse than signing up for a gym membership. At least, you can cancel it and not have to walk away from your money.
In conclusion, Porch is a sub-par service that contractors should steer clear of. Their business model is mostly designed in their favour, with a minimum benefit to both clients and contractors. On the other hand, the users have different issues with the site, such as fake leads, a difficult refund process, and cancelation faulter. Contractors may have better luck looking into other local networks or some of the other options suggested, which offer a more profitable opportunity for their services.
Porch Complaints 10
Porch Website: Unwanted Calls and Shady Business Practices
So I never signed up for this Porch website, or even asked for ads and stuff. But somehow this home inspector company gave away my deets to them without even asking me. And now these Porch people keep buggin' me with their calls, even after I done told them twice to back off. Ain't that just a damn shame? How they 'spect me to trust 'em after that? These guys are real low-life businessmen if you ask me. They just wanna make a quick buck off somebody else's hard work. Why you gotta pay some middle-man to find a handyman anyways? Why not go straight to the source and save yourself some cash? Don't line the pockets of these Porch people and let them treat their workers like crap.
Unprofessional and Disastrous TV Mounting Experience with Porch
So, I had a bit of an experience with Porch. You know what I'm saying? My pals over at homeadvisor sent me their way when I needed someone to mount my TV on the wall. It sounded like a good plan, don'tcha think? Yeah, I thought so too. But boy oh boy, did things go awry.
It started when they took the TV outta the box. Somehow, somewhere along the way, the screen got busted. Like, for real. And that's not even the worst part. They didn't even have the right tools to find a proper stud in the wall or to make sure it was level. So, guess what they did? They drilled a bunch of holes in my precious drywall. Now, I got more holes than a slice of Swiss cheese.
I tried giving Porch a ring to fix the whole mess, but all they had to offer was a discount on their hourly rate. Come on, man! That's not gonna cut it. Besides, they sent me these "installers" who didn't know what the heck they were doing. It's like they picked them up off the street or something. I feel like I got duped, but hey, I guess you reap what you sow.
Warning: Porch Is Not Worth Your Time And Money - A Review for California Contractors
Hey California contractors, let me give you a heads up about this company called Porch. They promised to connect me to potential clients and their representative named Paul kept calling me about it. He was really persistent and guaranteed that the leads he’ll provide are legit.
Well, I decided to give it a try and bought two leads from them. But guess what? I tried calling and messaging the clients multiple times, but got no response. I’m starting to doubt if they’re actually selling real leads or not.
So, I called the Porch rep to ask for a refund, but they gave me a hard time. They kept finding all sorts of reasons not to give me my money back. I had to give up and just accept the fact that I lost my hard-earned money.
I’m leaving this review to let all the contractors out there know that Porch is not worth your time and money. As someone who works hard to earn a living, I don’t think you should waste your resources on a company that won’t deliver what they promised.

Porch Review: A Site That Leaves Customers Hanging and Contractors Fooled
This site is not what it's cracked up to be! It plays both the customer and contractor for fools. Customers like me often have questions and want to get a price quote from the contractors but to do this, the contractor has to pony up dough before they can even make a call or send a text! And, would you believe that this service charges customers on average between $25-40 just to have the contractor's contact info? But that's not all, customers like myself wouldn't even bother using their service if they knew the real deal behind it. I mean, why would we post an ad only to know that we wouldn't be contacted unless we pay up that dough? It's simply ridiculous!
So, I decided to give Porch a real chance and paid that fee once just to get a contractor's contact info. The worst part was when I got the voicemail and heard a different name than the one in the ad! This could've been the customer's fault but I thought Porch would be more considerate and refund me my money. But, no! They just gave me the cold shoulder and left me feeling scammed.
Overall, I don't quite recommend using Porch. This site simply just leaves us hanging.
Porch Hire Disaster: Shoddy Transition Strips Ruin Simple Flooring Job
So we had this job to do, which we figured would be a cinch. We just needed to yank up the carpet in our breakfast nook, which is a small space at only 137 square feet, and then put in some vinyl planks. We got a dude from Porch to come handle it, and it took him the whole dang day. But finally, he got all the vinyl down and it looked pretty good - except for one thing. The transition strips from the vinyl to the carpet were an absolute mess.
See, when this guy pulled up the carpet, my husband made sure to tell him to leave enough flap so the transition would be smooth. But this dude didn't listen, or maybe he just didn't know how to do it right. He assured us he'd take care of it, but that was a load of hogwash. When he was done, we had two shoddy transition strips that looked like they'd been done by a kindergartner. We were ticked.
The next day, I called up Porch and told them we needed someone with more experience to come finish the job the right way. They did send someone, but guess who it was? You got it - the same dude who messed it up in the first place! We couldn't believe it. So now, we're still looking for someone to come fix the mess this guy made. I don't think we'll be using Porch again anytime soon.
Disappointed and Let Down: My Experience with Porch.com's Unreliable Services
Me and my hubby really needed some hands to help us with installing floor and door trim in our new dwelling. Being new to the community and not having much time on our hands, we sought out the facile assistance of Porch.com. Just feeding in my zip code and the nature of my project, I was rapidly given a service date two weeks ahead which seemed to be okay with me. I shared our abode address during that time as well.
Since we hadn't moved into our pod yet, we anticipated that having our new furniture and us snooping around would make things inconvenient for the installer. Thus, we had been busy day and night painting the trim, prepping to make things a little bouncy and jolly. We were so looking forward to starting our new chapter in life there.
But let me tell you what truly happened next. The night before our scheduled service at around 4PM, I get a voicemail and text from Porch, telling me that my "service was being cancelled" as they "could not locate any providers in the area". You could have knocked me down with a feather by the news. I mean, did they lose their marbles ?
Frankly, it was a total shot in the dark, and we were forced to look elsewhere for reliable assistance. It is really disappointing that Porch did not honour their commitment and let us down so badly. We cannot recommend their services to anyone in the future, and we will definitely not be using them again.
Porch Review: Unprofessionalism and Frustration with Installation Scheduling
So I gotta say, my experience with Porch was pretty darn frustrating. I mean, they scheduled me to have an a/c installed on a weekend that's supposed to be a holiday time, which in and of itself seemed a bit odd to me. But I thought, hey, maybe they know what they're doing. And then, the day they were supposed to come and do the installation, they called me up saying they gotta reschedule. Why? Because it's a holiday weekend, of course! I mean, come on. That's kind of obvious, isn't it?
Anyway, they said they could do it four days later, on the 31st, so I thought, okay, that works. But then they were supposed to call me an hour before the appointment to confirm everything, and guess what? No call. So I give them a ring before the appointment, and what do they tell me? They couldn't find the installer. Oh great.
So I tell them how disappointed I am and that I'm gonna look for someone else to do the job. And here's where it gets weird. Within 20 minutes, they call me back saying they can have someone else come by at 3 pm. Like, what? They couldn't find someone earlier, but now all of a sudden they can? I don't know, it all seemed a bit fishy to me.
Anyway, at that point I was pretty fed up, so I told them thanks but no thanks. Honestly, I don't think I'll be using Porch again, and I'd recommend you steer clear as well. I mean, their unprofessionalism is pretty off-putting, ya know?
Porch Removes Truthful Reviews and Replaces Them with 5-Stars for Lousy Contractor
I gotta tell ya, I'm pretty steamed about my experience with Porch. I was trying to warn other homeowners about a contractor who really messed up my renovation project, so I posted a detailed, truthful review on their site. But then I found out they removed it! I couldn't believe it, so I tried posting it again, thinking it was just some kind of mistake. Nope - they took it down AGAIN, and replaced it with a bunch of glowing 5-star reviews for the same lousy contractor.
I'm not the only one this has happened to, either. Another homeowner contacted me to say they had the same problem with the same contractor on Porch - they posted a negative review and it got removed. What gives, Porch?! Why are you protecting these shoddy contractors who are making people's lives miserable?
I did some digging and found out that other review sites like Yelp and BBB have negative reviews for this contractor, but for some reason, Porch is the only one with all positive reviews. That just doesn't add up, ya know? It seems like they're manipulating their reviews system to make it look like this contractor is great, when really, they're not.
I wish I knew why Porch is doing this - maybe they're getting paid off by the contractors, or maybe they just don't want to deal with negative reviews. Whatever the reason, it's not fair to homeowners who are trying to find reliable contractors to work with. I urge anyone looking for a contractor to skip Porch and head straight to other review sites where they can get the real scoop.
Unreliable Lawn Service: My Experience with Porch
Been getting my lawn services from Porch for two years now, just Spring through Fall 'cause I ain't no grass freak, ya feel me? But let me tell ya, it's been one disappointment after another. The lawn contractors switched up on me like crazy - I never knew who was gonna show up, and even when they did, it was always 2-3 days late. I ain't too fussed about when they cut my lawn, but dang, you gotta be reliable!
So, I called up Porch to reactivate my lawn service for this year, thinking it'd be smooth sailing. Got myself an exact start date, set it to auto-bill, and all that jazz. But guess what? On the day of my appointment, no one shows up. I mean, come on Porch, you're killing me here. So, I give 'em a call to see what's up, only to find out they never reactivated my service. And now, I gotta wait another 2 weeks to get a new lawn contractor out to me. Talk about incompetence right here.
I gotta say folks, this has been the last straw for me. I ain't using none of Porch's services again after this little mishap. I mean, if they can't even get their act together to show up on the right day, what's the point? You might as well just save yourself the stress and put in the work yourself. Believe me, it'll be a lot less frustrating.
Unreliable, Overpriced, and a Waste of Time: My Experience with Porch.com's MovingPlace
I gotta tell you folks, I got myself into a pickle with Porch.com's subsidiary, MovingPlace. I paid these folks a pretty penny, mind you almost $5,000, for them to drop off a container at my house on a Friday, so me and my moving gang could get busy filling it up on Saturday and have it hauled off come Monday.
But guess what, on Friday afternoon the news broke that the carrier Porch.com hooked up with (note: they don't even touch the container themselves, they hire others to do it for even more cash), well they weren't going to deliver it that day. And you know what? MovingPlace told me not to worry because it was a done deal, they guaranteed it would arrive the next day, Saturday. They promised it was a wrap... a lock. In fact, I asked them multiple times to confirm that it would pop up that Saturday, and they swore up and down it would.
Fast forward a bit, Saturday came and went, no container. Surprise, surprise, the call comes in from MovingPlace that it won't be delivered until Monday. What chaps my hide is that I had to cancel my good ol' movers and that doesn't come cheap my friends. Then I had to sweat and toil like some working mule and move all my gear out on my own during the wee hours when the sun wasn't even breathing yet. And who knows, there's rain in the forecast till Monday when they've got it slated to be dropped off.
In my humble opinion, Porch.com and their MovingPlace team just can't be counted on. They oversell, underdeliver, and waste your hard-earned cash, and it's just not worth it folks. My advice: go ahead and contract directly with the carriers they're using, dodge the Porch.com bullet, and keep your sanity.
