Knowledgable, and very honest
Knowledgable, and very honest... prices are reasonable for their services, and they won't try to sell you anything you don't need.
Quick and fare quote
Quick and fare quote. Was able to get scheduled within a week. Replaced old sump pump, fixed the sub-quality work prior to installing a new sump pump and a battery backup. Efficient and quick.
Quality Waterproofing of Dayton, LLC has done a bunch of jobs for me and my clients
Quality Waterproofing of Dayton, LLC has done a bunch of jobs for me and my clients. There was a little while when I wasn't too thrilled with some work they did, but it turns out they had a worker who wasn't up to snuff, so they gave him the boot. They redid the job and it made me happy. Besides that little hiccup, me and my clients have been real pleased with how they do their thing and how they make sure the work is top-notch.
I recently had these guys come out to fix some issues with my basement leaking due to some drainage problems
I recently had these guys come out to fix some issues with my basement leaking due to some drainage problems. At first, it was supposed to be a simple fix, but when they started, we realized that my problem was going to be bigger than we thought. They couldn't have known until they started digging up my drainage line in my backyard. The guy who helped me explained the situation and ended up having to hand dig an 80-foot trench to fix my line. He did it all in one day and replaced the poor equipment used by the previous contractor with the right stuff. These guys do good work and have reasonable prices. I would highly recommend them!
SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED
SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED. After cancelling two days in a row, 10 minutes before scheduled arrival for the installation of a sump pump, they showed up at noon without notice to do the job on the 3rd day. Less than 3 hours after they arrived, the owner called the foreman and told them to be at another job in an hour. After they left, I discovered they had not installed a check valve which would have caused the pump to burn out. They did not seal the hole where the pipe went through the foundation about a foot underground. (This is a waterproofing company?) And if they had tested the pump installation before they left, they would have discovered two (out of 2) pipe joints leaking. They borrowed some of my tools because they didn’t bring what they needed. To add insult to injury, they will not respond to emails or phone calls after 2 weeks. I ended up installing a check valve, sealing the hole, and repairing the fittings myself. That said, warranty is probably worthless.
Their bid said they would hand dig for piers to protect my landscaping and sidewalk
Their bid said they would hand dig for piers to protect my landscaping and sidewalk. They showed up a few days late with a backhoe, and I had to wait for the supervisor to arrive to discuss. We agreed that they could use equipment to dig if I could deduct the cost of my yard repairs from the job, and he said okay. When they finally finished, they buried 3 large tarps in the backfill without telling me. They came out and removed only one from the filled area. Then they refused to honor their warranty because I deducted $100 for year repairs. The owner said the contract was voided since they didn't pick up the check for job payment for 2 days after the job completed, and his terms were COD. The office person threatened to have them come out and dig up and remove the piers if I didn't get them a check on a Friday night, when they knew they'd have the check Monday morning. They were not easy to work with. The owner shouted at me on the phone and kept interrupting, and the owner and office staff were consistently very disrespectful. Only the supervisor Jeff seemed to care about me, my property, and the job.
What a mess of an office!
What a mess of an office! I called this company 7 weeks ago to schedule a basement crack repair. The first time I called, Kim said Angie would contact me for scheduling. But guess what? I had to call back 3 weeks later to schedule myself. They said they were about 3 weeks out, which was fine, and they scheduled me for Friday, December 4th. On the morning of December 4th, I hadn't heard from them about the arrival time, so I had to call them again. Kim said, "I don't have you in the schedule. I'll talk to Angie and find out. I won't leave you hanging." Well, guess what? She left me hanging again. The job didn't get completed on the 4th. Finally, on Monday, they called to reschedule. They said it would be next week. So now, it's been almost 8 weeks of trying to get this company to do a repair. I told them it had to be this week or forget about it. After about 10 minutes of back and forth with Angie and Kim, Kim decided to tell me they don't work that far! But wait, Angie just told me they did a job at the neighbors! What a joke of an office management! If they didn't want to do the job, they could have just told me on day one, and I would have looked for another contractor. Thanks for leading me on for 7 weeks and wasting my time!
This spring I found a big crack in my basement
This spring I found a big crack in my basement. It was raining hard and water was pouring down the crack onto the floor. I didn't want to try fixing it myself, so I called Quality Waterproofing. I watched some videos and they used the same resin technique. First, they put injection ports evenly along the crack. Then they coated the wall and injected the resin. I could see the resin on the outside too. The inside coating could have been neater, but it's a small thing. I'm giving 5 stars because Quality Waterproofing came quickly, did the job, and I haven't had any issues yet (even with heavy rain). They have a warranty and the cost was fair. If I have more foundation problems, I'll call them again.

Date: 11/29 // Cost: $2200 // Job: Installing a sump pump ---- Quality Waterproofing was hired to put in a sump pump when I bought my new crib. They did the installation on 11/29, but there were a bunch of problems afterwards: They cemented the sump-pump lid to the floor, so when I tried to take it off, it actually broke the concrete around the pump. They fixed some cracks in the floor, but the resin they used was messy, unsanded, and unfinished. Now I can't put my furniture back level because there's a "bump" in the floor. When they dug down and replaced the downspout tee outside, they left it too low, so I can't fill it with dirt. This means water is going straight into my foundation. They said they would fix these problems, but they've missed two deadlines to come out and do it. They haven't been answering my calls either. It's been 18 days since they finished the job, and my house is still a mess because of it.
They've cancelled on me 8 times now
They've cancelled on me 8 times now. They don't answer their work email in a timely manner. The boss yelled at and called my father a stupid painter. First, they wouldn't answer my emails about if they received the check I sent to them. They cancelled on me and supposedly got the check a day later than the start work date, which I don't believe. We rescheduled for 11/18, 11/19, and finish up on 11/23. They were understaffed on 11/19 and didn't come on 11/23 to finish the job. They pushed me to pay them on 11/23 and didn't let me check the work they did first before paying. They left a mess behind, buckets aka trash, and didn't put air ducts back in place after they pulled them. After checking the work they did, we found they didn't put a pole in behind the AC/heating unit. After we pointed it out, they said it was because air ducts were in the way, but they had no problem removing other air ducts and not putting them back. After this, we had the boss come back out and explain what we see wrong. He explained things to me, but my father who was there to help me asked him some questions as well. The boss immediately started to raise his voice at my father and ran out of my house after insulting and calling my father a stupid painter. Now I've been trying to reschedule a day for them to come out, but they keep cancelling on me the day of or before. They keep giving me the excuse that they are understaffed, but I schedule 2 weeks in advance so they could be prepared.
When I was gettin quotes for waterproofing in April and May, I made the mistake of askin if they do concrete
When I was gettin quotes for waterproofing in April and May, I made the mistake of askin if they do concrete. The owner, ***, said yes. I hired them to do a 4' x 21' sidewalk on the same wall as the waterproofing. It took a while to get it done because of rain and stuff, but they finally did it on 7/31. They used 76 bags of Sakrete and a portable mixer. I heard it takes 6-8 weeks for the concrete to "cure" and look better. But even after that time, it still didn't look good. I paid the full invoice on 8/2. When I complained, they told me to send pictures. I sent 4 pictures of the worst parts. They said they would fix it, but they kept delaying. The owner, ***, didn't even come to look at it until October. He said it was garbage, but didn't do anything about it. On November 5, a crew came to remove the bad concrete. They said they would pour new concrete in 3-4 days. But that didn't happen. I lost my money and now I don't have a sidewalk. They called on November 11 to say they were ready to pour the new concrete on November 13, but no one showed up. I left a message for ***, but he didn't respond.

After having a sump pump installed, we've been waiting several months (and been through several appointments) for a verbally-promised radon lid
After having a sump pump installed, we've been waiting several months (and been through several appointments) for a verbally-promised radon lid. On August 3rd, Quality Waterproofing of Dayton installed a sump pump in our basement. This is the second job they had done for us, and the work again was done well by a capable and responsible crew. When finishing up, I mentioned to one of the workers that we had a radon mitigation system and that our master bedroom was in the basement. I asked him if we needed to do anything special for the crock. He recommended taping around the crock to prevent seepage of radon into the basement. After some googling, I figured out this wasn't a viable solution for radon. I reached back out to Quality Waterproofing of Dayton in mid-September about what could potentially be done about the radon issue. On September 17th, *** reached out to me via email asking me to send her pictures of our lid and crock. She mentioned that there may be a cost associated with replacing the crock if that was necessary in order to get the proper lid. I responded with pictures on September 18th, and then followed up again on September 24th when I did not hear anything back. On September 25th, *** called me and told me he would come out and do a type of plexiglass cover that could be sealed free of charge. He mentioned *** would call and schedule the appointment early next week. I heard from *** early that next week and we scheduled the appointment for the lid on October 8th in the afternoon. On the morning of October 8th, someone from Quality Waterproofing of Dayton called me to tell me they would not be able to make it out that day and needed to reschedule. At this time, we rescheduled for October 15th. I took off work the morning of October 15th when a crew from Quality Waterproofing came out to install the new lid. Unfortunately, due to some type of miscommunication, they showed up with a radon lid (not the plexiglass *** and I had talked about). That lid did not fit my crock and they were unable to complete the work. I was reassured I would be hearing back that day from someone at Quality Waterproofing of Dayton with what the next steps would be. I did not receive a phone call that day. After going back and forth multiple times (and making several phone calls), I get a new date of November 9th for someone to come out and do the plexiglass lid. I take off work again the morning of November 9th, and a crew from Quality Waterproofing of Dayton shows up with plexiglass to do the lid. However, when attempting to drill through the piece of plexiglass, it immediately shatters. One of the men on the job said he knew before they started that the plexiglass was too thin and that they had the wrong tools to cut through it. Again, the crew leaves and I still do not have a radon lid. Once again, I am reassured I will hear back that day from Quality Waterproofing of Dayton. I called the company that day and was told I was put up on the whiteboard as something that needed to be taken care of. I called back today, but nobody answered. It is currently November 19th, a little over two months since my initial contact about the issue with the radon lid. I would like to mention that everyone, especially the crews, has been very kind and professional in my interactions. The breakdown appears to be in communication or organization. I simply just do not feel like just attempting to reach the company on my own is going to help my family reach a resolution to this matter. We have been sleeping on a fold-out bed for three months now and would like to feel comfortable moving back into our master bedroom in the basement.
