I contacted realtor.com for "leads", which is what they really sell. If you're ever stupid enough to post your real information on that website, you will receive tons of calls from realtors, because they sell your info. Actually, the higher the price range you're looking at, the more expensive you are, as a lead. I signed up to receive "leads" in a certain zip code, where homes start at $800, 000 to millions and condos start in the $400, 000's, with only one exception: a freakin' time share at $50, 000. Over a period of 6 weeks i received 24 leads, 22 of them inquiring about the time share! I asked them how these things are distributed and they said "by algorithm", computer does it. Total bs, there's no way i've been selected 22 times in a row by this thing for the $50, 000 inquiries, where hundreds of other listings are much higher priced! Bottom line, they also lied about my having a "contract for 6 months" with them, where i've never signed anything with them. They kept charging my credit card, even after i told them to stop. Here's the kicker: i called bank of america to "cease and desist" this activity, it turns out they can't. Because they don't have any knowledge of your conversations with the sales rep at realtor.com. So in their opinion, you paid $24 per lead, they gave you leads. There's no documentation that you signed up for high end leads over $800, 000 and you got 22 of them for $50, 000. You paid for leads, you got leads! Over all, realtor.com is the biggest piece of ### in this business and people need to know this. Go ahead and sign up with a local re company website and you'll deal with a real person, not a scam making machine!

Beware of their monotone put you to sleep reading of the terms. They have been withdrawing funds from my account without my consent - $2, 295.75 in five $459.15 withdrawals.

A salesperson named Ali Hosseini contacted me about a lead generation service for realtors. He sounded very good and I consented to give them a try for a month. I gave him my debit card in exchange of 8 leads that I was going to receive for the month. Shortly after I did not receive any leads and I started contacting the salesperson and
realtor.com to no avail. Despite to not having a contract, the billing kept on recurring and the amount of leads promised not delivered. It was a scam.

An "Account Specialist" named Joe Brown contacted me told me that I signed a 12 month contract which I never did and that they are not obligated to give me any number of leads - just leads. He said he could not credit me for the lack of leads, and that the billing will continue. I had to call my credit card and close it, and dispute the charges. Unfortunately they can only go 3 billing cycles back.

Overall, I received 22 leads in a 5 month period. I was paying for 40 and I should have received 40. They refused to credit me any money, and refused to discontinue charging my credit card.

The qualify of the leads was horrendous. They may be inclined to tell you that the agents that complain are not good agents. I have been the #1 RE/MAX agent in Florida in 2010 and 2014, and #1 in Broward County for 2012. I am a pretty good agent however, I did not even meet a single prospect let alone close one.

I experienced the exact same thing as mentioned below with the lead generation of Realtor.com and filed a complaint at the attorney General in CA and OR! Don't hesitate to do the same!

After listening to multiple sales pitches from Realtor.com I decided to sign up for their lead program. For my investment the promise was an average of (4) leads per/week. It never happened. I have had an ongoing discussion with John Montaque Region Sales John.Montaque@realtor.com manager for months only to be dragged along with promises not delivered on. Realtor.com has gotten one thing correct. They have not missed for one minute taking the monthly payment (almost $400.00) I agreed to. What they have missed is delivering ongoing quality leads. When asked where the leads are they tell you they can't control when people go to their site. They seem to have enough data for sales to guarantee an average of 4 leads per/week. They even continue to sell additional leads in the same Zip code when only delivering about 30% of my contract. REALTORS BEWARE. THE LEADS MIGHT BE GOOD WHEN YOU GET THEM BIT YOU WON'T GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR. Realtor.com works like a medical plan. They hope you will die before you can collect.

John, see my post below. I research the properties the bogus leads ask about, call, email and text with absolutely no response. To be fair, this is no worse than Zillow. I poured money into their scam for 2 years until Realtor.com assured me their leads were better quality than Zillow. I must be really stupid to throw good money after bad. Oh by the way, if you do one deal you pay for several years of marketing expense. Have you heard that one before?

Promised 3-4 leads per month. Got 2 crappy leads and one maybe lead in $50, 000 range. In 3 or so months! Won't give back money or cancel.

Let me count the ways in which this company Realtor.Com/Move.Com are ripping off agents. They promise you a specific # of leads and then when they do not perform on their contract agreement, they do not return your calls. When you do get in touch with the salesperson or CSR rep, they do nothing but deflect, completely dismissive and often times belittle you for having the gall to complain. Look, all anyone asks for is that if you promise me say 60 leads in a certain zip over 12-months, that you deliver on it. If you give me what I pay for, then I have nothing to complain about. What a novel concept. However When I only have 15 out of 60-72 leads halfway thru my annual program and I call to ask where all the promised leads are, they continually lie and say 'they are coming with the busy season'. As if the program that has given me 2 leads a month is all of a sudden going to be giving me 8 leads per month to meet the promised total? Yeah, not. On top of that, my sales person Jesse McGough is a complete [censored]bag who essentially told me that I am not spending enough money ($500/mo) in order to realize any ROI. I just need to spend more! What a fantastic way to endear yourself to your clients - tell them they don't have enough money. But yet, he sold me a package he later admitted to be ineffective. I will be pursuing a lawsuit against Realtor.com for fraud. I encourage any other Realtors who have had similar experiences with this sham of a company to contact me directly at shawnesgate@gmail.com and perhaps we can work towards a bigger class-action lawsuit. NAR should be ashamed of themselves for promoting this company as a resource to its members and perhaps they should be included in the class action as well for helping to promote fraud upon their members.

Same here! I wish I had googled them before signing up. If I had seen this there is no way I would have EVER agreed. I was very hesitant and asked is this something I can cancel at any time. The liar of a salesman said yes. The leads I have received are total crap! They prey on new realtors because of that lovely old saying, "In order to make money you need to spend money." Realtor.com is a complete and utter scam! I am disgusted with them. I don't want to screw up my credit so I am stuck paying for their crap leads until September of 2016. REALTOR BEWARE! DO NOT TRUST REALTOR.COM THEY WILL SAY ANYTHING TO GET A SALE AND THEY ARE ALWAYS LYING!

DO NOT give these THIEVES your credit card information!
I was forced to call my credit card company and they stopped any further charges from going through.
That was in FEB...this month...in April ALONE
they CONTINUED TO TRY TO SUBMIT CHARGES on the following dates:
4/19, 4/20, 421, 4/22, 4/23, 4/24 and 4/25th ( which is today)!
***** Call your credit card company to stop all future charges*****
...do NOT believe them when they tell you your account has been cancelled... !

Same thing happened to me. Never received the leads. My contract expires in a few days. During the last 5 months I have repeatedly complained to Realtor.com. Bottom line is they DO NOT refund money or release you from the contract early. Doesn't matter if they don't meet their side of the agreement. If you cancel during the year, you still pay. you just don't get the few leads you've paid for.

I've filed a complaint with the California Attorney General's office. Here's the link:

I've discovered several complaints saying the same thing. Realtor.com takes your money and doesn't deliver the leads. If we all complain to the AG maybe they will see there is a problem and investigate. The address I put on the form is Move Inc's corporate office:

Realtor.com is such a SCAM! Do not sign up with them or give them any money. I am a Realtor in Central Florida. In May I received a call from a slick talking, pushy sales guy named Mark who tried really hard to get me to sign up for zip codes near me that would get me great leads for 12 months. After going round and round for several minutes I told Mark there was no way I was agreeing to a year contract with him. He stated "well, we do our billing monthly so you're paying by the month". I asked "so does that mean I can cancel after any month?". YES he said. So after receiving crap leads for $35, 000 to $80, 000 buyers for the month of June, I called to cancel. I made my first call to cancel on June 25, 2016. Here it is August 4, 2016 and they still have not cancelled my membership. I keep getting billed 238.66 every month. Finally called AM EX today since that's how I was paying and informed them I have 6 weeks of documentation on where I've been tying to cancel this service based on what Mark told me in the beginning. AM EX blocked Realtor.com from billing me any further. I bet NOW they start calling me! PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. THIS HAS BEEN AN ENRAGING AND FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE.

We paid $1000 per month for exclusive leads and caught realtor.com sharing our leads with other brokers. We did a charge back and shut them down our first month. They admitted there was a glitch. I really wanted this to work too, now I can't trust them.

I too was "taken" by a smooth talking salesman who promised me the world in terms of lead generation and quickly saw it was a scam. This was the worst career investment ever and I caution anyone thinking of doing business with realtor.com to run the other way. Everything they say and do are lies

I too was mislead by Realtor.com! Their salesperson Daniel Castor called me and signed me up in May. I was told that I was going to get an average of 10 leads a month. Well the first month I received 8 leads, some of which are duplicates. The month of June only 4 leads and this month only 4 leads. When I asked if I was locked in for 12 months he basically said "no." Now when I tried to cancel I'm being told that I am in a 12 month contract by someone in the Thousand Oaks office. Daniel called to check up and I explained how unhappy I was with the lead quality and amount received. Of course he said he will look into it and make sure they are better quality. Now he won't even return my calls. This is a shame that our own National Association Realtor is ripping off its members. I'm ready to report this to the BBB and check with a lawyer about a lawsuit. It may end up being a class action suit with all the complaints I see here. Wonder where is there code of ethics. Hypocrites!

THIS IS SO SERIOUS AND VERY EXCITING! Hello, there. My name is Brian. I was terminated from Realtor.com this past March. The 'real' reason they fired me was because I refused to participate in the unethical sales tactics and illegal activity which is all centered around making the next level in your monthly compensation plan. I have a law firm who has picked up my wrongful termination case. It is very strong and mediation is set for this November. There are illegal & unethical business practices claims as well. Will you PLEASE HELP me as I gather dozens of agents across the country to unite in putting an end to the culture on the sales floor? As soon as management heard me on the phone agreeing with an agent that the leads she was getting were horrible my lead flow was cut off. In a matter of months I went from making over $10k/mo to $2, 500/mo. They REALLY screwed up in the way they let me go and all stars are aligning for a CHANCE TO STOP THE LIES!

I have tried REALTOR.com twice. My latest adventure was when I was offered another zip code with better leads with an increased cost. I was led to believe that the new agreement would supersede the previous agreement. That was not the case. The leads I started receiving were not even in my area. Some were 50-75 miles away and the others were at the low end of the price spectrum. After they billed me a ridiculous amount I called and inquired about the charges. Their response was all I would need to do is sell 1 property to pay for the charges. I told them I was not in this business to support them. They told me I would have to talk to billing. Billing told me too bad, I had an agreement. You do not sign anything with them. They email you a statement and if you open the email and do not disagree within 3 days you automatically agree to their terms. I had to cancel my credit card to stop the charges. This company practices fraud and deception. They lie to get you to sign up to spend more $$. I think NAR sold us realtors out when they sold realtor.com. If I could I would make them take the word REALTOR out of their name.

Realtor has been a terrible experience. They send me "leads", but the leads never respond to my calls, emails or tests. They evidently plant these bogus leads to make it appear they are fulfilling their contractual obligation. The Better Business bureau needs to hear about this. We hard-working Realtors are being scammed, and we probably have a good class action lawsuit.
To be fair, I had the same experience with Zillow. 2 years paying them and not a single "lead" panned out. The funny thing is that the Realtor.com salesperson told mem their leads were much better quality than Zillow. Fool me once, twice, three times. I'm done with internet leads.
