Red Lobster app is a loser.
The rewards app is impossible to use. It doesn’t accrue points properly —I find I’m just a few points from a reward, scan my receipt, and when I check it a week later my points haven’t budged. Or I get an email telling me I get free Pepsi. But neither I nor the server can access
it and I’m sent to a page where I am told to “sign up” again. Who has time to chase their tail? So many other apps just ask for your phone number once you join. Red Lobster could benefit from looking at them.
Recommendation: Unless they fix the app and the rewards program, don’t bother to join.
Terrible app for online orders
This app does not do very well when ordering online. Menu is even more limited on app than the restaurant and didn’t offer many side options. When I was ordering I was trying to use one of my rewards I was trying to put the code in but not working. I decided to go inside restaurant to pay so I could use my reward. Once I opened it my code was gone and apparently once you open it, it goes away when you close it. Does not say that anywhere on their app. You have to be present in person to use rewards and being able to show them the code at the restaurant. Very bad experience for me.
Not really an app
This “app” isn’t really an app in the sense that you can order directly from it, or browse the menu.
You can only view your points total and see what deals and rewards are loaded onto your account.
It’s irritating to have to login to the website each and every time to place an order. All of the other restaurant apps I have allow me to order via the actual app without being redirected to the website.
I honestly don’t even really understand why this app exists when you’re able to view the previously mentioned account info once logged into the website to place an order. It doesn’t make any sense to me.
Doesn’t work
No one will help to fix. Local restaurant tried to help with no success was able to reach someone but they never got back to me. Red lobster shut down customer service line. Like so many company's they don't care about customer service.
Update, Red lobster sent a response to this review. Clearly they didn't even bother read this review because they told me to contact their customer service. If they had read the review, They would have read that the customer service line is non operational. So I tried the restaurant and the manager talked to someone at corporate who was suppose to call me back but never did.
Reward choice should improve
My husband is the red lobster fan in our family! He would go there every time we eat out if it weren’t for my wanting a variety of restaurants to go to
We were both disappointed in the choices given on the rewards app. We would never order or enjoy chocolate cake or clam chowder and we do not order appetizers because we have more than enough food with Red Lobster’s meals. What would encourage us to visit choosing Red Lobster is if we could apply the rewards to our bill. It’s no use to us as far as the rewards. So there’s no reward for us who are frequent customers. That’s pretty sad. Please reconsider the reward options.
In the business of selling your data
We like their food so I got the app to make it easier to order. But apparently if you get the app they are in the business of selling your data. I think it’s smarter as a business and I own a business to be in the business I’m in. I don’t sell my customers information. I think it’s just trashy and lowlife to be in the restaurant business and sell your customers information. Federal and state need to pass laws and get everyone out of that business. There’s no reason for anyone to be in that business or put a big big sign on their main page hey come here so we can sell your information. So yeah it’s trash because they make it difficult to opt out.
Survey about app
I completed a very long and detailed survey about the app to receive a reward. The reward was received and expired within a month. I went to the restaurant a few days after expiration (unbeknownst to me that it had expired) to use it and realized it was gone from the app. When I reached out to customer service to ask for the reward back, or something equivalent, they advised the rewards expire in 90 days. Mine expired in 30.
This was one of the points I made in the survey! Give the customer more time to use their earned reward! Customer service came back with a copy/paste response and did not address my request for the points back. Poor service.
Food and waitress was great! Atmosphere not good
The Hoover restaurant in MI is where we had visited and when I arrived I was wondering from the beginning if I should have left. There were two young people smoking marijuana a male and female sitting on the bench outside the restaurant when I arrived in the rain to drop off my children at the door. I later learned they were both employees. Not good.
The food and our waitress was excellent! Superb thankfully! The biscuits did take quite some time even longer for a refill and the restaurant was very cold. I noticed a male employee in the back eating from a plate as he was walking by. The atmosphere makes me not want to return. I may just order online but that makes me feel uncomfortable.
Can’t online order with rewards
Tried ordering today and wanted to redeem a reward I had earned, when I went to checkout it told me I needed to sign in so I would and it would take me back to the home screen where it shows my points total and rewards. So I would go back to the cart to finishing checking out and it would say I’m still not signed in. Went through this three times before I gave up. Also disappointed that the online menu is much more limited then the instore menu. Had to choose 2 sides with my meal and my only options were fries, rice, mashed potatoes and broccoli. Didn’t even have the option for a salad!? Only continued with the order because we had a gift card to use, otherwise would have ordered elsewhere.
Needs more work
App opens up fine, just a few problems. (1) Trying to create an account by entering all of the provided fields and then submitting it FAILS. It tells me that “This account is taken”. I’ve NEVER used this app nor have I gone into a Red Lobster in over 13 years. (2) Trying to login using Facebook, ALSO useless. Trying to use my Facebook account automatically refreshes the login and DOES NOT say anything about me being logged in or if it was incorrect unless I didn’t put anything in the query boxes. (3) I had to go into my email, reset my account password that it says was “incorrect” and it STILL mentions that it is NOT valid. I am currently using an iPhone 6s. I just want to reserve a table for once.
We keep loving red lobster no matter what!
My husband is a nationwide truck driver we have been to over 100 restaurant the best is in Schaumburg Illinois and the one that made me very sick was in Virginia the nastiest and dirtiest is in Gastonia nc where we stay it smells like the carpet has never been cleaned and the tables are dirty also ur elbows will stick to them I asked my husband please never ask me to go to Gastonia location again but he loves it so much after one year or more of the worst seafood ever he talked me into going back again dam! It was 10 times worst experience I had ever had washed the dirty table off the silver wear and the food was cold and unbearably we just paid and left!look at the pictures and see for ur self we are alway going to love red lobster no matter what mrs Adams

Man they have an attitude problem no customer satisfaction what so ever what they say goes and that’s that. Couldn’t even enjoy a glass of wine while I waited for my to go order. Must be an LA thing. Never will I ever step into this location ever again. My Orange County location is my go to spot I don’t know why I stepped foot in this place. I guess I thought they would all be the same. Our food was great
Our food was delicious but the service could have been a lot better. We arrived at 5:45 on Monday April 25th to our local Red Lobster and we were seated immediately and our server approached us rather quickly. From then on is when the problems started. We asked for a second round of biscuits because we ordered at 5:55 and by 6:20 we were still waiting for salads. We finally got extra biscuits but was made to feel like it was against the law to give us more. We even offered to pay for them. When salads finally came out at 6:30 our meals came out 5 minutes after that. We were celebrating my father’s 87th birthday and by the time we finished eating we ended up taking his cake home because he was tired and wears out rather quickly.
I will go back because I love Red Lobster and hopefully I’ll have a much better experience next time.

Seriously, Don’t Waste Your Time!
Earn points just to have the app not actually give you a code to redeem. I was at the restaurant when i clicked on the choices to redeem my reward (125 points) and nothing happened. No code, just back to beginning with zero points now. I was completely disappointed and decided to send a message via the “contact us” section.
I scanned my receipt to earn 75 points for the transaction and waited for a reply. The next day I did receive a reply asking for some details. They could not determine the cause and recommended not clicking the redeem now button until the server is at the table to take down the code... never mind I never got a code the first time but I guess the server could witness? Anyway, they decided instead of replacing the 125 points they would instead just add 50 points to my 75 to get me to my next reward.
Now i just feel cheated... I think i’m done with this and suggest everyone learn from my experience and stay away. I did rate 2 stars because they did a least respond.
Interface needs loooooots of work
-Navigation is all dropdowns and side arrows. It’s all efficient and clean, which is perfect for engineers and web designers. For normal humans (for example impatient wives and not tech-savvy parents. I’ll tell you about it later) however, hyper-clean mobile layout isn’t always the clearest to read/interact with.
-The menu sub-menu contains a few inescapable rabbit holes that force you to abandon online ordering altogether should you foolishly opt to enter them. In my experience, entering options for a baked potato meant stopping the entire online ordering process, which is why I bothered to download it at all.
-Like many developers, the crew that made this phone and tablet compatible app left it locked to vertical, no rotation possible. Annoying for those of us who use our iPads with Smart Keyboard covers, or simply don’t always use portrait mode 24/7.
The development team that made this restaurant app for regular consumers should maybe leave their offices, go to an actual restaurant, and meet a real human or two. It might help.
Log in access blocked, is from a third party Glitch, Red Lobster stated by phone on 12/20
You all have me blocked out of the Website, I’ve called over two times, got a reply by phone on 12/20, stating that there’s a third party glitch on log in problems and it should be resolved in 24 hours, not so it is still not resolved. I cannot receive the e-mails to solve the log in problem. I have a reward that expires on today 12/21, and I cannot access it. I have four rewards in all on my account Red Lobster app. Three of them expire in 2020. This is unfair. I cannot even log in through Facebook. All entries come up wrong e-mail or password. You All owe me this reward that ends today and I request a complimentary Red Lobster Gift card for all of this hassle. I was signed in to the Red Lobster app daily, then you all sent an e-mail stating that you all were upgrading the app. That kicked me off and now, no way to get back in.

Password recovery
I haven't used my Red Lobster Rewards app in several months, but I wanted to see where I was with points anyway. I opened the app and selected to sign in. Apparently, the password that I thought I used was incorrect, so I selected "forgot my password". I never got an email. I then tried again, still no email. I checked my spam folder, and even waited 12 hours. No email. So of course I try every password I might have used. I got blocked and was given a message that an email was sent with instructions to reset my password. No email after 2 hours.

Can’t sign in
I have been a member of the rewards program for over a year, and now I can’t sign in! It says invalid state. I even tried changing my password and received the same error message. Please fix this! Luckily, I found out that you can enter points on the website, so I’m thinking about just ditching the app if this issue isn’t resolved. I did uninstall and reinstall the app as well, same issue.

Completely Broken with the last update
The app auto-updated and required me to relogin, and not only did my password reset not work, but now it states my email doesn't exist when requesting "forgot password". When attempting to re-sign up, it states "user already exists" even with a different email. You idiots just lost me as a customer forever, thank goodness I checked the app before placing an order today. Learn2code, dummies.

It no longer works
About a month ago it stopped working. It won’t let me sign in. Keeps saying invalid state. Tried resetting PW but I never receive email after 4 tries. Tried setting up new account but it won’t let me. Broken...update received email pass word reset finally but still app won’t work. When enter the new reset password still says “invalid state” Tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail.

Needs work
I tried to use this app to gain points and it told me to update before i could scan. I updated and it told me to update again. By the time i had yodated the scan square had disappeared from the electronic credit card reader so the waiter had to get me a paper receipt which i scanned and received zero points. I showed this to the waiter who did not know what to do about it. A lot of trouble for no points.

Pointless reward system
When you purchase through the app it isn’t applied to your reward system. There isn’t a code on my electronic receipt either. I tried to redeem a reward through the app and it opened a new window with a code for a server, warning to not close until the waiter has applied. Well I’m ordering through the app so now my reward is waisted. When ordering it just directs you to a browser. Terrible, pointless, no good app.

Apparently the developer doesn't want to compile their app with libraries that support older devices in iOS 10. So their solution is to buy a new iOS device to support their app. It's like they want me to take my business elsewhere.

The app isn’t working spent 10 min trying to place a order that never got placed due to this corrupt app kept having me doing captchas that were right but the system didn’t recognize it. I need to delete this app, it’s taking up space
What a waste of space on my mobile phone. I don’t even get to use the app before my “reward” for something I didn’t even want already expired, and I can’t even see what’s on the menu unless I am ordering to go. As a dine in customer, I’m not even bothering to go. The LobsterFest is probably way overpriced anyway. They email you with all these graphics, but there’s no way to see the prices or what’s on the menu without starting an order.

Way behind other chain brand apps
What is the point of this app if I can’t even mobile order. It literally sends me out to a web browser where I have to sign in again. We also tried to redeem our T-Mobile 2/22/22 offer and it was glitching so terrible between the app and sending us to the browser that we couldn’t even redeem it. A terrible experience all throughout only matched by the terrible in-restaurant experience for this outdated and slowly becoming obsolete food chain.

They took points away!
We had plans to eat at Red Lobster last night, so I downloaded the app. I was given 75 points for signing up. I scanned our receipt from last night. We spent $48. The claim is $1=1 point. I open the app to see if they added the points to find I now only have 26 points. They REMOVED the 75 points that we DID NOT use & only gave me a little more than half of the points we were supposed to receive by scanning our receipt. I hope it’s just a glitch/honest mistake.

Worst app ever
I can never log in. It keeps saying the password is incorrect. I try to reset the password and it keeps telling me “unable to reset password.” I have lost multiple points because I can never get this stupid app working. Makes me want to not go to Red Lobster because of the frustration of their app. Yet they can email me continuously about how I haven’t been to red lobster and earned points. Hello? KIOSKS ON TABLE IN RESTAURANT
There is clearly a problem with the kiosk payment / game machine software and it needs to be corrected. The kiosk is blatantly cheating servers out of their gratuity by re-creating a new gratuity amount based on a adjusted total. The gratuity amount does not default to the original amount. This is blatant theft. Also, previous complaints about this were shrugged off so I’m publishing a review of this theft with the ComplaintsBoard.com and Florida State Attorney General.

Garbage App That Should Be Zero Stars
It was going good, until the app signed me out. I have tried every username and password I have ever used, and can’t sign in. I’ve emailed Red Lobster, multiple times, because I NEVER receive the link to reset it. They assured me, they’ve sent it to me. IT NEVER ARRIVES! There is no way for me to sign in. I’m sure I’ve lost the 2 rewards I had on my account, because this app is garbage, and for some unknown (since no one can help) reason the reset password button, DOES NOT SEND THE LINK!

App doesn’t send email in a timely matter
I’m very frustrated with this app after the update. I go thru the process and try to reset my email. All the app does is say that an email will be sent to me to reset. This was yesterday around noon time and no email ever came. When I checked this morning an email came but it was in the middle of the night and of course the link was expired. So, I tried again this morning and it happened again with the email coming later. I have a couple awards expiring soon and I was hoping to use them.

Pretty Much Worthless
Still can't order with it. Still can't use it for call ahead seating. I bumped it to two stars because I can now get to the menu. The app looks like it is pretty much a view into a responsive web site. I like the scan feature to track rewards. I think there is still room for improvement. Benchmark the competition. Make it more like an app and not a web page. Allow me to place myself in the queue for seating so I don’t have to wait as long in the restaurant on a busy night. It’s getting better.

Fail
I ate at Red Lobster this weekend and was suggested to sign up for the rewards program. Download the app, put in all the info & got an account. Logged into the table kiosk. Kiosk confirmed I was logged in & displayed my name multiple places. Paid for my $50 order and was instructed that if I had signed in the points would be automatically attached to my account. Of course, I logged in today to check, and no points. What’s the point of a rewards program if the app doesn’t award you the points for the order?

Ridiculous
Dined at RL on 11/28 and earned rewards, which was wiped out on the app before I could redeem it on 12/20 Luckily, I had the email for it and the manager accepted it.
I have tried multiple times to upload the receipt from 12/20 and have been unable to. “Unable to load page.” I even emailed RL to address the issue - twice. No response. So, I guess no more rewards at RL, and maybe no more dining there. A shame for RL as my family and I went twice a month, when we felt valued.

Not very good
Compared to other restaurants out there Red Lobster is not taking their mobile app seriously. It’s crazy that you can’t even order from within the app. And the rewards part is a nightmare - one it’s too restrictive on what you can redeem your rewards on and if you don’t like any of the three options oh well l, I guess. Secondly I accidentally tapped redeem in store and got stuck because it said to only hit done when the server entered the code but there was no option to back out so now I lost a reward and your customer service takes weeks to get back to you.
