Bayada Nurses Low pay, racism- was called a &Spic&

These people misrepresent deliberately how you will be paid and what you will be paid. Most Vermont employees spend as much time trying to get paid what they are owed as they do working. Beware of the "guarantee" jobs where they guarantee you 10 or 20 visits a week at $$ per visit. When their patient census drops Bayada managers pressure nurses to travel greater and greater distances to "make your guarantee." When they don't have enough nursing work for you, you will be treated like it is somehow your fault that their marketing isn't working. You may also be asked to work as a home health aid even though you are a registered nurse.
Nurse clinical managers are often not the people to turn to for sound clinical advice and support for field staff. Managers are often selected based who they know in the community on the misapprehension that knowing people means they will bring in more clients. The clinical manager that I had was known as a scary, out-of-date nurse who had been fired from three other jobs before landing at Bayada. Yes, she knew a lot of people locally, but a lot of people knew her too.
During orientation, this clinical manager discovered that I was Puerto Rican in heritage and she thought it was funny to call me a "Spic." When I explained to her that such terms were offensive and unprofessional she told me, "Get used to it. I'm a native Vermonter, we were here first, and we can say what we want to you people." A few weeks later I was told by this manager that I did not fit in on her "team" because I was " not one of the girls" . Then someone vandalized my car and did $3, 000 damage. I left shortly after that and never looked back.

Be aware of these people; they talk a good game, but when it comes to the workings prepare to be "groomed in the Bayada Way". They institute an atsmospher of fear and insincerety among their employees. They attempted to brain-wash the employees to think their thoughts and talk their talk. They create a false atmosphere of team when actually fostering fear...
