ten pound credit offer
Bid tv was once again doing an offer claiming that if you made a purchase with them over a week they would credit youwith ten pounds!they never said when but i knew that credit would have to be used between a certain time so i rang customer services to see when the credit would be applied to my account and when i could use it!they said could use it between the 18th march til 1st april!so on the 18th march i ordered a product and bid rang me back to take the payment and yes you guessed it the credit hadnt been applied!so they told me to ring customer services so the next day i did!they said it might take a few days to hit my account!so today the 20th march i rang them again and the credit hasnt been put on my account!but to add insult to injury the operative said that it was only pricedrop who where doing that offer!i dont watch price drop so unless im living in a parallell universe i think they are ca;lling me a liar!so as i only ordered the product because of the ten pound deal just goes to show you dont get something for nothing!i will continue to watch the programme bid tv because its entertaining but wont be purchasing any more products from them!plus ive probably used the ten pounds credit on my phone calls to them!perhaps i will switch to QVC!SO BEWARE NEXT TIME THEY MAKE THAT OFFER YOU MAY HAVE TO FIGHT FOR IT!
nuisance phone calls
i have not ordered anything from bid tv but have received phone calls asking me for my bank details these have increased from one phone call a day to in excess of twenty phone calls a day some as late as 1.30 am which wake me up.

They are still doing it. harassing me up to 10 times a day about an order that has NEVER been placed. I hadn't heard of BID TV until 2 weeks ago when the phone calls started.
A couple of weeks ago I received no less than 7 calls between 1.45 a.m. and 2.30 a.m. and despite the language I used they still kept calling. I tried complaining to Bid TV am still waiting for a response
Depending on your family life, unplugging the phone is not always possible. But if you are not expecting anyone to call I suppose it's the easiest solution. Although I have like anyone would have, major issues with bid tv handing my bank details to anyone. I have been told today that it is unethical but not illegal. I have spent a lot of today finding out how it was so simple to take that money from my account. It seems that there is a possibility that the Pound Saver Club that is linked to bid tv has either knowingly or been hacked for Bank Account Details. If on your bank statement it shows LV8* Pound Saver or LV8* Classic Saver, then contact your bank immediately as THIS IS NOT A COMPANY THAT YOU CAN CONTACT IN ANY WAY? IT IS A SCAM.
bidtv have conned ppl of money for so long and its time it was stopped they are a disgrace and should be barred from appearing on british television
I have just spoken to RIJ a representative of Bid Tv. I was told quite clearly by him that if Bid Tv believe that you have joined a Big Savers Club and that Bid tv are satisfied that you have SAID YES TO JOINING A SAVINGS CLUB. THEN BID TV WILL NOT ONLY HAVE HAD FURNISHED THEM WITH YOUR CONTACT DETAILS TO BEGIN WITH
THEY WILL THEN GIVE ALL OF YOUR BANK DETAILS TO THEM? THIS WILL ALLOW THE SAVINGS CLUB TO TAKE OVER £150 EACH YEAR FROM YOU AND THERE IS VERY LITTLE YOU CAN DO. IF YOU CHECK YOUR BANK DETAILS AND IT COMES UP, WITH LV*POUND SAVER or LV* CLASSIC SAVER, unless you have a good bank you can CAN SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR MONEY. I will carry on putting this wherever I can. IT MUST SURELY BE ILLEGAL TO GIVE ANOTHER COMPANY YOUR BANK DETAILS. IF YOU SHOULD WISH TO JOIN A SAVER DISCOUNT CLUB YOU WOULD BE THE PERSON TO GIVE THOSE DETAILS. WATCH THIS SPACE! TRADING STANDARDS TOMORROW AND I HAVE GIVEN BID TV A DEADLINE OF 28th March 2003. I WILL THEN TAKE IT THE POLICE. SORRY MR BID TV BUT YOU REALLY HAVE BIT THE WRONG ONE THIS TIME, I MAY BE JUST ONE VICTIM THAT COST ME THIS MONTH NEARLY £160 BUT I WILL BE LIKE AN ITCH THAT YOU CAN'T SCRATCH. I WILL NOT GO AWAY?
take your phone off the hook when you go to bed it will give the engaged tone they will soon get the message
Taking more money than required
Tried to purchase an item on easy buy thought this was going to be easy as never had a problem before. Recevied several calls which became irritating then when checked my bank they had taken the full amount out plus 7 first payments of the easy buy first instalments totalling £482.62 on contacting. They informed me there was a problem with my card. Yes obviously it released to much money. Can't seem to get them to understand that at no time did I agree to the full amount being taken out nor did I want my account to be asked for 7 lots of first payments only one. If there was an issue why did someone not telephone me back and let me know instead of me almost going into the red on my account. So disappointed in Bid TV and their customer services. As a Customer Services professional I am so disappointed with the service I have received and no real apology just keep calling me mam which I hate. Can't send them an email as can't find an email address need help

no refund for returned item
I purchased on item from Bid TV in November 2011 which cost £16.99 plus £8.99 P&P. When the item was delivered, I found it was damaged, so I returned it by recorded delivery and asked for a replacement as it was intended to be a Christmas gift. No replacement was sent, so I had to buy an alternative present.
When I chased the query up with Bid TV I was told to fill out a feedback form on their website - which I said I couldn't do as you need to register and I didn't want to register so I wrote to them at the address on the website. I got no response. Every time I try to call, I get put on hold for 20 minutes, and at a premium rate number I can not afford to keep calling so I have asked them to contact me.
I am still waiting (6 months later) for a response and my money back, but get nowhere. I don't know what to do next!

Peter who is supposed to be a expert on perfume is not a truthful person.I have bought two perfumes going on his say so, they are rubbish, will never bye again, neither will my friends. He needs to give the job up and get someone who tells the truth.
Try OFT... They have hundreds of complaints about bid tv who do send by royal msil 2nd class & we pay £10 or as near as dam it. I did a survey & i sat myself down put the channel on, pen paper & calculater. In 45 minutes they made £40, 000 & at that point i had to give up because i COULD NOT KEEP UP.. They need monitoring or some secret shoppers to give them what they deserve BANNING.. DQ
Brett Simpson is the ye n ne... Getting through to Mr Percivel the CEO is impossible ALL EMAILS ARE INTERCEPTED.. I will come back another time when ive got a week free to tell my story of this RIP OFF company. Donna.

this has been going on for approx. 1 year. can you help.
Frauds!
Bid TV have no ability to solve problems when things go wrong (and systems that protect them but offer no possibility of the customer receiving service).
I made a purchase from Bid TV. I paid for the item and a high charge to them for delivery. The goods did not arrive. I spoke twice to 'Customer Services'. Both times they said they would trace the goods. On the third phone call they said again they would trace the goods. I said I wanted to know if I was getting the goods and if so when. They said they did not know. I asked for a refund. They said they would send me a letter to respond to for a refund. After another 5 days neither the goods nor the refund letter had arrived. I phoned again and they said they had not sent the refund letter and would not do so for 7 days. They also said my goods might still arrive. Today I got an email saying they acknowledged that I had returned the goods unwanted. That is not true. They did not deliver them. The email goes on to say that they would refund me sometime after 7 days. It also goes on to say the amount of my refund will be £0!
I rang customer services again (the call costs in trying to resolve this matter have risen to the degree that I could have taken a day trip to London, bought the item in Harrods and paid for a taxi to deliver it for me for less!) and they said that since the goods were still with the carrier they could not refund me. They said when the carrier returned the goods to their warehouse they would then contemplate a refund. I paid Bid TV and therefore consider that my contract for delivery is with them . Why, if they know that I have not got the goods are they unwilling to refund. I smell a business with cashflow problems. Holding onto money when it does not belong to them smacks of desperation. I suggest readers of this think twice about buying from Bid TV. You may never get anything for your money - just like me.

Hi Sue, I've bid for avalanche products too and have been astounded at how quick the items sell out too. I start dialling before the phones open yet still get 'item now closed' reply when it couldn't possibly have sold out that quickly. Like you said it is a good way for them to collect &take £1.53 off people for nothing. I've given up trying these avalanche products now as like you said it is just a scam.
Sorry Sue, for some strange reason they have scrambled my message. I did read it and it read perfectly but now doesn't having posted it! Strange.

I phone straight away for a avalanche product for which they closed and changed the number funny how it immediately sold out they should be investigated for these scams as god knows how many people phoned costing £1.53. They are scam tv some of their items are in the shops for a fraction of their price and how can all their items be £7.99 postage when some items are bigger and heavier. If I had a delete button for the tv I would definately delete their channels. I want my details removing does anyone know how we proceed as they dont listen
Re Bid Tv/ price drop. I also ordered from them and paid £7.99 postage they say wait 7 days before contact . Well on the 8 th day contacted them they said it had been dispatched but would sent me a non delivery letter within 7 days which I had to sign and return. Well this has never turned up and also I have asked them for the tracking number so I could check myself that it was dispatched. They could not produce a tracking number for £7.99 I would get a tracking number if I posted a parcel through royal mail.I don't think my parcel was dispatched and they take your money knowing they don't have enough stock so they make interest on the money they hold for over 14 days watchdog should do a investigation I am sure this is fraud.
Overall Service
Needed a new Tv/DVD combi unit and saw one on BID TV's schedule on 18/06/10 on a falling price scenario which was due to close at (approx) 20.33 that night. I made an online/web bid of £50 as i was just taking a lucky chance it may be a crazy price reduction job.
It came up on my system with a notice in red that my bid was accepted, but, to warn that this item had previously sold for £249.99 in the past and it may be worth bidding again. The £249.99 price was in the "bid again" box at the bottom of the screeen at this point I thought i may as well up my bid to £100 and as i moved the mouse over to insert my new bid amount in the box to bid again, the screen changed and a message came up thanking me for my bid and confirming it as £249.99.
I called the Customer Service number ( if ever a number was so innacurately described it is this one) and advised a girl at the other end of the phone, which was obviously not UK based as the dialling tone changed while it was ringing the number, and advised her that i had made a bid in error for the item, which was an AKURA 21.5" tv/dvd combi unit, and wanted to cancel the bid. She informed me that the item would not show up on her system till after the auction had closed at 20.33 and to call back then and they would sort out the cancellation.
Unsurprisingly, my "bid" of £249.99 was the highest they received for the item, but, the auction closed at £199.99 and i was lucky that i would only have to pay £100 more than my original intended bid !
After the auction advised that the item was cancelled and i would receive a full refund in "10 working days maximum", but, should the item be delivered i had to refuse delivery.
I waited till 29th June and then checked my credit card account and Bid Tv site to see if refund had happened, but as expected, it had not and, more worringly, the item was showing on their site as "despatched".
I called customer service (?) number again to be told that a supervisor would call in next 24 / 48 hours to arrange the refund. This was after being informed that 1) i had refused delivery on 25/6/10 which never happened and 2) the item was back at their warehouse.
The promised call never materialised but a couple of days later i tried again and was advised that the matter was "being escalated to a supervisor and they would call in "next 24 hours".
This call also did'nt happen.
I called again today and after telling the first girl i spoke to that i wanted to speak to her supervisor NOW, i spoke to someone who advised that 1) I had refused delivery on 25th June...2) The item was not back in the warehouse but still with the courier...3) I cannot get a refund even though they know the item is back with the courier as the item's barcode has to be scanned back into their warehouse before a refund can be made...4) Should the item not be scanned back in by 7/7/10 i will get a refund regardless.
When i asked why i cannot get my refund now as the item is, by their admission, at the couriers, i was informed that it was not procedure to do this.
As i write i am waiting on a call back from someone at their uk HQ, which they refused to give me a number for, and i have been assured this will be before 5.00 p.m. today. You will understand that i am not holding my breath waiting on this happening
Just thought i would update everyone... the phone call before 5.00 p.m. did not happen...what a surprise
barring of account
My account has been barred because i WON too many of the famous mega drops -where any item can go for one pound .
apparantly you are only able to win no more than two, well thats as maybe yet the hosts of this channel BID TV do not tell you that when they are playing the famous "BUY IT NOW AT THIS PRICE ITS A BARGAIN AND REMEMBER ANY ITEM COULD GO FOR A POUND "- well i managed to buy 8 products in this megedrop event from fri 6th feb -sat 7th feb then received a phone call on sunday 7th feb stating that my account was now barred! "because it is not fair to everybody else" .
Is it fair when you telephone and all products have gone ? they still charge you £1.50 for the call - no matter how many things you buy they charge you the exorbitant price of £7.99 (minimum) to send it even when delivered by Royal Mail as i used the web to BUY and i use the word BUY NOT WON these megadrops i paid £1 + min 7.99 p+p so £8.99 min every time i purchased .
On monday 8th FEB phoned to ask if my account was BARRED for a period of time or for good was told someone would ring me -n0-one rang of course so rang back on wed 10th feb cut off during conversation phoned again this time i am told that I have to give "my side of the story" to customer services, when i said that perhaps better if i cancelled my account was told "that would be such a shame" They have not a clue! how to conduct themselves and i am exteremely angry at this farce . lynnette houle

terrible service
my mum phoned bid tv to buy a gift for her grandaughter whilst at my house. About an hour later the phone rang and it was from an indian call centre asking if i was the bidder- i said no and that it was my mum and said i could give him her phone number. I was then hung up on. The phone continued to ring all day (around 18 calls in total) all from the same bid tv number! Some just let the phone ring 2/3/4 times and hung up before i got to it, others would be polite but then i would get half way through explaining my mum wished to purchase the product then id just get hung up on, others were absolutely rude to me saying i must hand over my card details for immediate payment. The last phonecall of the day was at 11.40 at night which woke my husband and i up when we had work the next day and our one year old baby. I was very annoyed at this point and demanded they stopped calling me and that because of this terrible customer service my mum no longer wished to continue with the sale. They apologised but we got the same harassment the next day- FROM 6.20 IN THE MORNING. They have finally stopped calling and im so happy my mum didnt part with any money for them. Its shocking that this is how they treat people who are parting with their hard earned money to purchase their products, i also would think twice before thinking that you are getting a bargain- remember they charge £1.50 for the phone call and around £7-8.99 for their postage. A work colleague of mine bought a diamond ring from them and i was shocked when i saw the quality- it had no shine or sparkle to it and she paid a few hundred pounds for it, she then had alot of problems when trying to return it with them saying they hadn't received it etc. So be warned...think before involving yourself with bid tv as its not all the bright colours, smiley presenters, quality products and hassle-free after service they'd have you believe when you switch on their channel. (The same goes for their 2 sister channels also bid up tv and speed auction tv i think they're called.)
Buying gem stones/gem stone jewelery from the Bid channels.
After buying AAA Tanzanite 925 Sterling Silver ring I had it checked out some months later. All the Tanzanite stones were flawed (not graded - not AAA not anything). One stone even had a huge crack in it. I returned it expecting it not to be refunded but to my surprise it was. If it had not had been I would have taken it to trading standards - maybe that's why they refunded it even though the returned date had long expired. There are some clues though. Who sells top grade stones in Sterling Silver ? Top grade stones are sold in more expensive metals. It normally costs more to have an item valued than what you paid for it ? so therefore its not viable to get it valued - now what does that suggest. My valuation was free and I got £89 + postage both ways refunded. The item was not worth anywhere near the purchase price.
they owe me £333.97 for goods not recived & goods returned from early to mid Jan i havent had a penny put back in my bank account to date & last night 3rd feb Anita from customer care with a bad attitude rang me to TELL(SHOUT AT) me that i would have to wait 3-5 days for MY money to be refunded, then to add insult to injury she offered me £5 for the 10 plus phone calls i had made to sit up to see where my money is. Also i've b'n offered a £10 voucher to spend on sit up for any inconvenience without predudice'' now do the maths, £7.99p&p £1.53 per min phone call(from bt) does sit up sell anything for 48p? If i send my phone bill in with all my personal & friends & family tel' no's on they will re emburse me for the calls i've made, it's hard enough tryin to get what they owe me why would i believe them anymore!
Re: Phone Calls
All the hosts on the sit-up channels (bid tv, price-drop tv and speed auction tv) regularly remind buyers that they will get a call back within the hour to arrange payment and delivery details. Your mum had left the house by that time, so they couldn't arrange payment. You couldn't prove that the number you were willing to give them was your mum's, so they could not call that number back - as far as they know, you could have been giving them a number to be used for fraudulent purposes. This then meant that the purchase had not been completed, so it would stay active on their system, and as a result, you kept getting calls from different people in their call centre (which I believe is based in London).
Most buyers will add £10 to the purchase price, as they know that the postage and phone call will add more money onto the price, but all shopping channels make some money on P&P. It's just something you have to accept if you're wanting to buy off the TV.
Re: Bravia TV
The sale of the Sony Bravia TV was advertised in at least three newspapers on the day of the sale, and as a result, there was a lot of interest. They have a couple of hundred phone lines to accept calls, and when these get overloaded, you will get an engaged tone. The demand for the product was greater than the quantity they had, so people were bound to miss out. Most regular viewers of the sit-up channels know that the first six numbers in the phone number will always be 0904251, so the rest is a guessing game. Employees, family of employees and friends of employees at the sit-up channels were exlcuded from purchasing the TVs. This meant that nobody had an unfair advantage. However, different digital set top boxes take different amounts of time to display your picture. This means that there will always be some people viewing the screen before others. Your set top box might have been slower than others, meaning that you stood next to no chance of getting the product.
they had sony bravia tellys on bid tv last night, i thought it was a complete scam.there is no way no this earth you had chance to get one, it doesnt matter how quick you were on the phone, you would never have got one.i only dailed first number and surprise they were all gone.I wont be using that channel any more
Numerous phone calls
I was woken at 1 o'clock this morning by someone calling from bit.tv - calling from [protected]. Since then I have had 5 other calls. I have repeatedly said that I have not ordered anything from bid.tv and yet the calls still keep coming. I believe that bid.tv is part of Virgin Media. I have never bought anything from shopping channels and never will, so...

I bought 2 watches from bid TV one came friday it only had 2 thirds of the strap, the other came Saturday which was not working at all, to me its a con channel it should be taken off the air regards peter.
These vouchers/credits are next to useless when you do get them anyway. You cannot buy anything under £10 with them. You cannot use them if there's ANY other kind of promotion attached to the item sale, ie free postage, easybuy etc. Watch how many items are actually priced under £10 whilst these vouchers are valid, loads.
