Easy Breathing Air Duct Cleaning Dishonesty...Terrible work

ALMOST VERBATIM! ***DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY****

My wife scheduled duct cleaning. Robert said he would "personally" come out to do the work. Some other guy came out the day of. Robert told us it would be $95.00 flat to do the work. When the technician came out he told us he saw mold in the vents and we needed sanitizer to kill it which more than doubled the price...we paid it. When I got home from work I took off a couple vents and noticed "TONS" of dust still in the vents. I called Robert and he said that his tech was in a hurry to go to Wisconsin and apologized profusely and rescheduled an appointment for the next Saturday at 9am. Needless to say, like above, he never showed up... I called and he never returned my call. My wife called and he never returned her call. Well we fianlly got a call back the next night on my voicemail where he lied and said no one was in the office over the weekend and he didn't get our calls and that his technician forgot us on the schedule, blah, blah. I called him back today, (no answer again). BBB here I come. Small claims court...here I come! I've included a couple pictures of my vents "AFTER" the cleaning...The pictures speak VOLUMES!

Easy Breathing Air Duct Cleaning phony fraud rip off

Easy breathing air duct cleaning company also known as 'The air Duct & Chimney Cleaning Company' is a fraud. The owner of the company is also the tech he works out of his house, His name is Rob. He advertises in the Clipper Magazines under The air duct & chimney cleaning company number /number removed/. Rob is a complete rip off takes advantage of all customers tells them a price over the phone and then rips them off when hes done doing the work. He charges hundreds of dollars for work he didnt do he lies. He puts a hose to one vent and blows the rest of the vents with a weed blower he doesnt have a sucker which goes into the vents all the way cause it takes to long he says. His method is phony and is all a show! I am reporting this because i feel bad for the hard working individuals who become victims of acts such like this, Being minipulated and cond from there money.
How do i know this because i worked for him and was disgusted by his actions i found him on craigs list worked for a week or two and barely got my money and never heard from him again, which im sure he does to alot of younger adults trying to make some money. His actions are sad that a man works his entire life to scam people so please dont ever use him for anything.

Does anyone know the address of this SOB? I need to file a small claims court case but cannot find his adress. I do have his phnoe number and list of the business name, but he never returns my phone call after he cashed the check for a chimney service that he said would warranty for 20 years. It was broke 2 weeks after his service! I tried in all good faith to contact him and he never returned my phone calls. I only realized that he was such an SOB when I tried to google search his name and address and then I found out this website with all other complaints against him. I think we should all sue him so that he is not off the hook. If anyone knows his address, can you please post it here? Without his address, I cannot even file a law suit against him. This proves he intentionally omitted the address on the contract forms. Too bad I did not search it before signing the "contract" with him. No one should ever do business with this SOB, aka: Robert Riemer.

Easy Breathing Air Duct Cleaning Worst company ever

I hired the company to clean the air ducts on 2/9/09, they did a lousy job: they used a blower on the "air returns" which threw all the debris/lint/dust back on to the furnace. My whole house house dusty and we could feel dust everywhere, I called the company next day and talked to the owner Robert and explained the situation, he promised a redo by himself and scheduled an appointment for following Saturday. No one showed up on the promised date 2/14/09, I called several times no one picked up the phone. I called again on Monday, Robert apologized and promised for 2/21/09, no one showed up again. Upon calling again Robert promised for 8 am on 03/07/09, I called at 7:45 and talked to Robert, he assured me the service guy is on his way and should be at my place withing 5 minutes, again no one showed up and I kept waiting, I tried calling the office number but no one picked up, I left several messages. I wasted 3 days for someone to come and redo the air duct cleaning. Now no one is picking my phone or returning any calls. I tried calling from a different phone, Robert picked up the phone as soon I told him my name he hung up on me. This company does not know anything about duct cleaning and causing more health hazards by moving the dust back into the furnace.

I made a mistake by not checking their BBB rating before calling them the first time, their rating is already negative at BBB.

Stay away from this company.

I have had the same BS from this operation, if you want to call it that? Exactly the same issues from previous posts, Its almost like we all live in the same household !
Marvin races to get the job done then Robert plays the role saying he will save the day the following week/weekend. But never shows up, calls or even answers the phone unless you call from a different number then they hang up ! I will also be following up with multiple websites, BBB & other authorities. Straight up crooks! Then they have you write out the checks payable to Robert Riemer directly how convenient when they play games w/the company name !

We had a similar experience with these con artists. Below is my email to them, which they responded to once and then didn't call back after they said they would. I was subsequently ignored.
I am writing because we purchased a certificate for services from your
company for $59.00 that were worth about $200 (?) off of City Deals. Our original appointment was for this morning (8/31/11), but my wife called Monday, and asked if you could come earlier because we had a dead animal in our vent that made our house stink. No additional costs were given to my wife because of the dead animal. Your technician came out yesterday (8/30/11), counted the vents, told us it would be $10.00 for each additional vent and what each return vent would cost should we choose to do them. That was the only mention of any additional cost and we expected it to be maybe $50 or $60 more. We were expecting it to be a little more than what we originally paid on the certificate to get all the vents done. We told the technician of the dead animal (your company was told this at least twice now). He brought in the cleaning equipment and then told us he would have to put sanitizer in our vents because there was a dead animal. This was after all the cleaning equipment was in our house; no extra cost was given. I then left and my wife was alone with our two little girls while the technician worked. Additional services were then offered (such as mold removal), and THEN my wife was told (even after the technician counted the vents over the entire house) there was another additional fee for the four main lines he "suddenly" saw. We were never told of any extra costs when the technician went through the house initially or when we were on the phone asking to move the date up for cleaning because of our dead mouse.
My complaint is the following: How can a service go from $59.00 for a basic fee to nearly $1, 000.00? This is outrageous! I feel my wife was taken advantage of. The entire process seemed like a bait and switch tactic, which is illegal. I may file a complaint with the Better
Business Bureau and the Attorney General if there is not an accurate
accounting and reasoning as to why were never told what we would REALLY
have to spend when your company knew of potential extra costs. We need a good resolution to this. At worst, it is illegal, at best, it is bad business. Additional services and fees are fine, of course, but if they are not disclosed and extra upgrades are offered while the service is performed with no disclosure of cost, there is a problem.

My wife called Zephyr because she thought our ducts needed cleanin and she had one of their come-on coupons. They arrived told my wife there was mold in the ducts which was caused by a leak in one of our heating/AC units. He told her he could clean out all of the mold from the unit as well as the ducts to the tune of $1, 300.00. My wife has asthma was very concerned about the mold as I was but my concern was why was the ac unit leaking. Not being there to be able to access the situation and wanting to get rid of the exisiting mold, my wife and I agreed to have the work done. Supposedly the tech called his boss who gave him permission to lower the price by $300 if we had th work done today. Red flag. After the work was completed the tech David A (?) told me wife we shoould have a ac company take a look at the unit since it wasn't draining properly and that we needed a new drip pan. The owner of a trusted ac company came over and went to the attic to check the drip pan. After being in the attic 30 seconds he asked me to join him. He proceeded to show me where water was resting in the drip pan as well as the blower and the all of the bottom of the equipment was sitting in water. He said the unit was defective that water is never supposed to sit in the blower compartment and the drain was not hooked up properly so the water could not effectively drain from the drip pan. He informed me that the unit could not be repaired but had to be replaced. He also said that the ducts should never have been cleaned since they were very old. The duct cleaning had destroyed the plastic cover over the duct work leaving the insulation exposed so now I am cooling my attic. He said the the duct work was basically worthless and also needed to be replaced, he said any reputable company would've known better than to try to clean it.
The next day I called Zephyr and asked to speak to the owner. Of course he was not in but I was give the name David Meibus. I wanted to discuss my bill for him to justify the cost since the work that was done was worthless and also to explain why a tech would go ahead and clean the mold off of the ac unit knowing that the unit was going to have to be replaced. Funny though he has not returned my call. I have called back four times over the past two days and every time I am put on hold and then after sitting on hold for several minutes they disconnect me. I think I will stop payment on the check maybe then they might pick up the phone.

This sh-t needs to end, tired of these fraudlent companies ripping off the hardworking americans. The thing that really bothers me is they don't have to be licensed to do these services so simple name change after so many negative reviews & their back at it.

I used them over seven years ago and they forgot to do some vents and almost the same stories as above. The bbb is a waste of time, attorney general a joke and small claims court (which I sued them in and won) did not ever receive payment from them but had to pay the court fees of over $200. I got so pissed off that I went to his home in Northbrook only to have a gun pointed at my head, then I went back to my car called police and I GOT ARRESTED FOR TRESSPASSING?... Anyways, thought Id post my complaint from years ago again because I was just here to post another complaint about another duct cleaning company that just charged us over $1600 for the cleaning. They advertised $69 (all vents included), returns, and main lines were all extra $$$. I refused to pay, they just called the police and reported theft of service... I HAD TO PAY THE CROOKS OR I WAS ABOUT TO BE ARRESTED FOR THEFT OF SERVICE? I think all duct cleaning companys are bad and crooks. Made Easy Breathing look cheap at only $295... Oh yea, I asked them to clean the dryer vent also and that alone was $$395... Thanks MISTER DUCT

This company is a total joke. They use "SANITZER" which is really just an air freshener for your air ducts. Good idea, but you'll never believe how much they charged me... $263.50 extra PLUS the $110 for the air duct cleaning portion. That's $373.50 for SEMI-CLEAN air ducts, and an hour long lasting air freshener. They're terrible people. The mexican man, MARVIN, told me I had mold! Scare tactic, to say the least.

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM MARVIN, ROB, AND ANYONE ELSE AT THIS COMPANY... TRUST ME!

PS, THEY CHANGED THE NAME OF THEIR COMPANY FROM EASY BREATHING, TO BREATHING EASY SO THEY WOULDN'T GET SO MANY COMPLAINTS. THOUGHT IT WAS QUITE COMICAL WHEN I HEARD MY FRIEND SAY SHE USED THEM. UNREAL. THANKS GUYS!
