Energy Supplier EXCO Supply Service
I have just become aware of the incredible scam knows and Energetix. Our local utility began many years ago to provide the option of purchasing the energy supply from separate independent companies. As I recall, this was a new New York State regulatory requirement that was supposed to save the consumer money. It appears very clear to me now that our state...

RG&E has a nice tool on their website for comparing your ESCO to what RG&E would have charged for the same electric and gas
supply. I have been an Energetix customer for several years and finally realized I am paying too much. In comparing what I paid
EnergetÎx over the past 12 months to what RG&E would charge for the same supply, I found that I paid 65% too much. How can Energetix advertise that they will save you money and then charge that much more. For several months they charged more than
100% more than RG&E's variable rates. There should be truth in advertising so they would have to tell their customers that it will cost
extra to do business with them. Needless to say, I am no longer an EnergetÌx customer.
Terrible company
We are a retired couple living on a small pension and Social Security. We received a phone call from Energetix last year stating that we were $1000.00 behind on our budget plan. When asked how could this happen, the answer was not forthcoming but they would set up a budget plan that would pay for the deficit and keep our current billing up to date. We accepted that, not really wishing to fight them.
Last week we received another call from Energetix saying we were now $2000.00 behind in our budget plan. When asked how this could happen, we were told not to dwell in the past, what is done, is done and that we should concentrate on the present. Well, the present involves a payment of more than double what we are paying now for two years and doesn't include what further changes in their estimating might occur.
We are angry, frustrated and are bound and determined not to pay this as we can no longer trust them or afford them. Lie to us once, shame on you, lie to us twice, shame on us. We never had a problem with RG&E and that was for 23 years, but the three years with this company will make our budget cry and us with it.
These professionals are supposed to be able to determine, within a reasonable amount, what your budget plan will be and, if there is a problem, it is their responsibility to forewarn their customers of a problem. Obviously their estimating is not valid and they did not forewarn us at all in these two years. When asked why not, the answer was, you are dealing with the past again and we need to get over that and onto the present and future. But the mistakes were yours not ours, why should we be responsible for them? Well, you should be keeping track of where you stand by yourself. And where do I find this information? On the back of page six on your RG&E bill. Where? Page 6. Why didn't you tell me this last year? No answer. We trusted you to be right this time but you succeeded in doubling our deficit. If you have had the patience to try and read your 6 page RG&E bill, I doubt if many of you would find the information about the Energetix budget plan as there is information about the RG&E budget plans first but they have nothing to do with this.
I finally asked to speak to someone else about this and received a call from the Supervisor later on. The same exact merry-go-round. He was willing to take $400.00 off the bill but that was it. Our monthly bill was still over $400.00 a month for 2 years.
Our questions are: How can we trust these folks after they have made huge mistakes for two years in a row, never contacted us and are now making us pay for their errors? Are we really that far behind? Did they ever check our meter? Should we pay for this? I'm sure the folks that contacted us were just doing their jobs but it is also possible they get paid bonuses for how much they can collect from the unwary, (we wonder how many other Seniors have been put in this position).

sorry that was the wrong energetix...
The owners of this company actually formed a small cult where all members were required to go to 3 "services" a week (given primarily by it's CEO and CFO) and live within a small highly restricted commune. It was very sad and I'm glad there evil doing has caught up with them. You'll find a great deal of accurate detail about this given by people who have mostly decided to be anonymous. I'd say %90 on here are recognizable to me as people I lived with for 4 or 5 years and were also working for this company and it's other companies in Dahlonega, Ga. http://whathappenedtodeerfield.wordpress.com/
The whole forget about your past thing, yeah that screams Cult, eh?

I see that I am not the only one with Energetix problems. I feel sorry for the others that were also raked over the coals by this low-class company.. When they were a local company they would contact me every year regarding a new contract with different cost structures that I could choose from. I recently noticed my yearly gas and electric totals were rising substantially and called my local gas and electric company to determine what my bills would be through them.. I was informed that I was paying double for my electric and triple for my gas service through Energetix. I found out what I had to do to cancel out with Energetix and switch over to my local company to save the double and triple rates I had been paying unknowingly. I then called Energetix back to request a refund and the supervisor I spoke to gave me a song and dance about the notice they sent on November 29, 2012 (almost 3 years ago when they used to send them annually). In that notice she said it stated that our rate would go to the variable (so they could screw us over) after the first year of the new contract. This is their method of screwing people over and not letting them know each year what the rate is that they are paying. If you are considering an ESCO, DO NOT USE ENERGETIX. THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU AND THEN ACT LIKE THEY ARE INNOCENT ANGELS WHEN YOU CALL THEM ON IT. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF RIP-OFF ARTISTS.
