dead plants badly shipped bad customer service
e next week, in hot weather, in a plastic bag, in flimsy plastic bottle material, smashed and dead, some rotten, and were tiny and weak before they shipped. The specimen tree was a stick with its lead cut off. I planted and watered everything that looked like it had a chance, and repeatedly tried to call the company; they don't answer their phone. I finally found an email and wrote them; they said that to get my money back I had to return all the plants with the original shipping label within 14 days -- and it was now day 12! I immediately mailed back everything I could find (that wasn't rotted away or unidentifiable fragments), with the shipping label, except for the 10 that looked to be recovering, and the specimen tree, whose bark looked faintly green, but no buds have yet sprouted and it is now mid-June. I just received a letter saying that they couldn't identify the plants, and needed to know which plants they were -- and no wonder, since I couldn't tell what they were without the labels when they arrived -- in order to send replacements! They have obviously no intention of ever refunding. Of course I should have read their policies before ordering, but if I had suspected that I would need to, I wouldn't have ordered from them in the first place! Plants I have ordered from other nurseries have arrived in wonderful shape in good protection. I have emailed them back a list of the only remaining plants alive; they have my shipping label and should be able to do the subtraction. The bottom line is that they have very poor quality plant material and do not care about protecting them during shipping, and obviously don't care about customers. Huge waste of money.

The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I ordered 40 Creeping Phlox plants. They were DOA!
In a blue plastic bag with a few air holes I received 8 smaller bags of plants.
There were allegedly 5 plants in each bag. You couldn't tell plant from root or where 1 plant began and one ended.
I was expecting plants to be sent in a small flat of live plants.
Emailing doesn't do any good. They said they couldn't open the attachment. I attached photos.
I texted and got standard responses.
I just finished packing everything up to return merchandise for a full refund.
Wish me luck.
I also ordered plants from them. Almost impossible to contact their customer service and then no response. Oder was received over a month ago. One time they said it would be shipped next week or the following week. This was over thee weeks ago. I tried to cancel my order but they said I would have to do it by mail. Now I learn the company is associated with Burgess so both are on my list of never to order from again. I will try to contact one more time and then send a registered letter of cancellation. I finally unloaded the mulch from my truck that was awaiting the plants I ordered. Next year I will throw away Burgess and Honey Creek materials.
i ordered 3 plants last summer . my customer number pkg id is [protected]. 2 of them didnt do well, so i mailed them back in the orginal package. they sent me a post card going to replace them in the spring. so i recieved 1 package 1 of 1 with the plant that did do well the mosquito geranm. So are you going to replace the 2 trees? I ordered the
daisey tree. and the lemon/lime tree. They were so tiny. I hope maybe
they can be alittle bit bigger. Since i didnt get to enjoy them last summer. I have 2 palm trees i brought back from out west doing great.
I ordered a number of items from their catalog to add to my 3/4 acre of perennial plants. Upon receipt, I planted all the stock in individual containers and placed them in my greenhouse. Everything grew except the monarda and the strawberry candy daylily (the crown had been cut off prior to shipment).
I wrote the company, including a photocopy of the address label, and asked for replacements. The stock in question only cost $5.10. They wrote back asking for the original shipping label which I had discarded by this time.
I called them to ask if I had any other recourse and they started telling me what "I needed to do next". I feel they should have gone ahead at this point and issued me a replacement or credit.
I have no intention of "doing" anything more other than:
1) Never ordering any nursery stock from this company or any other Burgess-related company.
2) Seeing if I can make a claim through my credit card company.
I feel that they need to better train their customer service staff to provice service rather than barriers and negative feelings.
