ITT Technical Institute teaching, kicked off school not allowed to graduate

I started at ITT West Covina for course in Web Design. Tried to get financing and was denied. I approached the principal and she told me to speak to a Asian Finance Manger and I tried to quit and was told I could not as I have signed to take the course and was told to speak to counselor and than was told to go to my council Person who never replied to me. I got letter from the counselor which was fraud that he knew me for years. FYI I have seen a counselor at EDD El Monte who walks with limp passing out flyers at EDD which I found is not legal.

Regardless I waited for response as instructed by Finance Manager. Sad but true Algebra teacher wrote all the answers on the board for final exam as he was in hurry to go home and watch the game. Had one teacher supposed to be teaching programming who kept on saying WORD COOL over and over again and kept on telling us about his marriage and his wife all the time. He would show us a program over the board and when it failed he would tell us just figure it out. Dont get me wrong had good teachers also. I got loan from Citi bank for ITT due to non approval of my loan. By these time I was a quarter away. Due to a project not done in my last class, I would told my teachers aid a fat female who walked me out of the class and told me I have failed the class and will not graduate. I spoke to Ali believe he is from IRAN in the hall way and he just smiled and walked away as he did not give a damn. Is there any resource of getting my refund as they did not allow me to graduate.

ITT Technical Institute financial aid department

I am having a problem with the financial aid department at ITT Technical Institute. The person in charge of processing my loan did not process it correctly and will not return my phone calls. They will not even provide me a full accounting of my loans and how they are applied. I have contacted the corporate office and the US Department of Education to request assistance but no one will return my phone calls and it has been months. I have submitted the following email to many divisions of ITT Tech and the US Department of Education. I really could use some assistance to at least tell me how I should proceed.

Who would you contact if you are having a problem with the financial aid department? The US Department of Education says the head of the financial aid department but I cannot get anyone to return my phone calls. The person that has been handling my loan did not process it correctly and has not corrected the problem yet. It has been months and I cannot get anyone to return my phone calls. I have left several messages.

ITT Technical Institute avoid itt tech

I wish I would have listened to my brother when he told me not to attend ITT Tech. He graduated in 2004 and had a very hard time getting a job. He eventually found a great job through a friend. He has friends in high positions and they let him know that they really don't like hiring people from ITT because they give degrees to everyone. In fact, they even made the news in my city when a student submitted a recipe and received an "A" with a "Good Job" comment.

My problems with ITT Tech occurred quickly. I first enrolled in August of 2009, but due to a family emergency I had to drop...way before classes started. I re enrolled in December and noticed right away that you will be given an "A" no matter what kind of work you turn in. After three months of utter crap I decided to dropout and attend another school. Right before I did I found out that they never turned in my financial aid papers on top of that they kept my Pell Grant from August. They never sent it back like they were suppose to do. I contacted the Dept of Education and they said what ITT Tech did was illegal. That's not the worse of it, when I called to drop out the woman was extremely angry and unprofessional. I made sure that I was officially dropped out and signed at a different school and thank heavens I did because two weeks later after I was officially dropped from the school. I found out that they tried to take a loan out under my name. If I hadn't signed up at a different school when I did..they would have gotten away with it. Also if you're thinking about enrolling at ITT Tech do a little searching on the web because many of their campuses have been raided!

What I want to know is, how can a student fail ALL of the test and still pass the class. Well what I have come up with is, they do not care if you get a education, they just want to rush you thu it to make room of the next batch of suckers. They just want that money. Thats why industry do not want ITT student, they learned nothing. I enrolled into a state school before leaving ITT, and i can say it its hard, but I am learning. Do yourself a favor and stay away from ITT, its a scam, a very expensive scam.

ITT accepts resumes from anyone and it may be a shock to you but some people embellish a little on their resumes. ITT is required to conduct background checks and get official copies of resumes sent directly from the source college for all employees. However, having the credentials does not mean that you have the skills. ITT also must follow procedures to retrain or release employees that are not meeting expectations. Occasionally students fall subject to a short term poor hire. Student need to take charge of their own destiny and push for the things they deserve.

ITT Technical Institute itt methods causing students to not graduate

Students involved: c. carter, p. mckay, and g. turner

Itt employees involved: dennis artis, registrar, renee s. hall, associate dean, and william wells, director

Problem: the registrar and associate dean (approved by the director) put these students online without prior notification and these students felt that they had to try the course because they were in their last quarter. they feel they were not advised properly. these students were placed in online courses during week 1 (no advising performed) and given no opportunity to test out. they sat in class waiting for the instructor but was told by a finance person that the class was moved to online. the registrar or associate dean did not communicate anything to them. these students were in their last quarter at itt - graduating. these students were tutored by the associate dean who is not qualified to tutor economics. she teaches english. she did not know the topics necessary to help them successfully complete the course. she did not know how to solve the problems or explain how to solve them. the tutor hired was not present on the days they came to school. now, these students have failed the course and not able to graduate. itt has failed these students.

Please investigate the st rose campus... these students have paid too much money for a degree they cannot use... these students are now very upset that their graduation is delayed because of wrongful actions of itt

From Wyoming Michigan
I was also put into an online class and was not happy about it. I took my concern to the department chair because I was having problems logging into the online class. He also tried sitting next to me at the school and had the same problem. I asked why I was put into an online class in the first place? Turns out I wasn't the only one experiencing the same issue. I was pulled from the online class but I had to wait till the next quarter...10 weeks later because he could not get me into the class because of the rules in withdrawing from an online class, That I didn't sign up for!

ITT Technical Institute students failed

I am writing because I believe that ITT Technical Institute may be trying to circumvent the "program integrity" mentioned on your web site regarding the gainful employment regulations:

Dated: September 24, 2010
"The Department of Education today announced that it is on schedule to implement new regulations of the for-profit education sector dealing with gainful employment and 13 other issues to protect students and taxpayers... Final regulations to ensure program integrity in federal financial aid programs are scheduled for publication on or around November 1, 2010, and will go into effect on July 1, 2011..."

The new regulations, in my opinion, focuses on the marketing practices to new students, relationships to federal funding, and employment strategies of for-profit education providers. However, I believe that ITT is partially moving the marketing of students to the academic area. They are calling this marketing strategy as the "re-entry" program. The focal point of this program is to gain 10% of the gross dropped student for the previous trailing 12-months. A bonus program was also attached if you achieve a certain percentage above the 10% (star bonus). Here is where I believe this strategy becomes unethical and an effort to circumvent the new regulations. If a student is dropped from a quarter, then that student is a drop for every quarter in the trailing 12-month period which means some students are counted at least 3 more times than the 1 time that student was dropped. For example, for the March quarter of the new year, ITT counts the trailing 12 months of drops which is counting back 12 months from the new quarter:

December quarter
Student dropped

September quarter
Student counted as dropped again

June quarter
Student counted as dropped again

March quarter
Student counted as dropped again

The trailing 12-month gross dropped number is more than the number of students in the school and that is the number they use to make the goal of re-entry students for the academic personnel (the 10% of the gross drops = 10% of a fictitious dropped student number - fathom students). I am told that the gross dropped student number in one school was approximately 490 but the program from its inception did not get more than approximately 350 students. How can you drop more students than you ever had in the program and then be asked to market and attain 10% of this fictitious number?

One student counts at least 3 quarters (3 times more). Then the representatives from the academic area must try to market to the actual drops (the real amount of dropped students, not the inflated number). There rationale behind this is that the period to attain re-entry students can go back decades of years, but the people in charge know that normally after a year or two of being out of college the student will probably not return. I believe that these unrealistic goals are trying to be made into a new marketing path to possibly circumvent the regulations of the gainful employment implementations. Additionally, if what I am told is correct, a re-entry fee is charged to the students in addition to the exorbitant tuition, which seems almost like a practice of "extortion". Just my opinion but please check it out!

I already disapprove of ITT holding the current technology back given the money charged for tuition - the computers are not the top of the line, the software is outdated, and equipment used in sub-par ()opinion) - when the cost of a Bachelor degree is quickly approaching $100, 000. The students should be using cutting edge equipment with the latest software. When ITT was beginning to teach Windows XP and Office 2007, Windows 7 and Office 2010 was out in the market. These students could be doctors with that price tag!

If ITT continues in this fashion, then the pressure will be off the marketing team because the academic team will be another marketing source off the radar. Off the radar because the academic marketing strategies was not mentioned as a part of the area questioned under this gainful employment regulations.

I would have to agree with responder in saying that some poor companies base their oppinions on a few bad apples. It is a good indicator to the aplicant that the company conducts poor interviews. A company should base their decision to hire you and thoughtful responses to applicable questions. Not on a resume or a school's name.

Sorry to say, but it's ###. When I was interviewed by Lakeside Software Inc, once they heard that I completed Associate Degree program in ITT - I've gotten an offer immediately. Most likely the company you was interviewed by got bad experience with some ITT students and that's why you failed. There is no reason to blame ITT in it. You perfectly know that a lot of students are attending classes in ITT to get Degree Certificate, not a knowledge.

ITT Technical Institute over priced non transferrable credits

Mistake of a lifetime, they encourage people to stay in their program regardless of proficiency.
All they are after is cha-ching
Stick to public schools, community colleges.
Your best interest is the goal of public schools if you drop a class they will not call you to keep you in a program you are ill suited for.

Oleg.O, I'm sure you meant 'Another uncalled for accusation' but then with your wonderful ITT Tech education, I'm not surprised. I shouldn't be too critical, I too have a completely useless, over priced, Associates of Applied Science "Degree" from ITT Tech. My biggest complaint is that in 1989, when I applied, I was told that the program was Nationally Accredited and the fact that the credits were non-transferrable was not spelled out in the brochures or talked about by admissions. My degree is in Tool Engineering Technology and I started my "career" in 1989 as a part time draftsman. Low paying drafting jobs were easy to come by but after 10 years in the business I was only up to a wopping $16/hr. Even in 1999 that's not a lot of money. The simple fact is that you cannot make enough money with that education to pay off the high cost of it. Now I don't even use the education that I am still paying for. That's right I couldn't afford to pay mine either so I avoided it for as long as I could.

Another uncalled acquisition. In regards to "over-priced": what did you expect from a private school? In regards to "non-transferable" - you should've been told about it when signing up the paperwork. At least I knew about it since I've started there.

ITT Technical Institute poor education, but huge loans

Itt Technical Institute is a rip off! The recruiter are lieing big time just to get you sign up for these huge unbelievable loans. They lie that ITT Tech. has top of the line education that ranks like 2nd or 3rd. - BS. We had 15 minutes of lectures per week in CAD classes. I was recieving Highest Honors each quater i was there. Well, it took me a year to realize that theyir credits don't transfer to any onther university or community college and that all of my friends who have graduated are still looking for work. They could find a job for 3 years already. Thats sucks isn't it...So, you pay wild loans for campus education while getting an online education where you are on your own. Plus recuiter lied to me about transfering to different university and ITT Tech finding you a job. Anyone who want to sue them with me call me: [protected] and we DO IT!

I started at ITT Tech 6 days after high school graduation in 1995. I was hoping it would be a stepping stone in my education and adult life since we were told when they came and spoke to our senior class and assured us all credits earned would be transferred. I completed my Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Management and Accounting in May of 1997. After settling in to adult hood (getting married, finding a decent job using my education, buying our house, and starting our family) I decided to start looking into getting my bachelor degree. After contacting a few local colleges and even the University of Phoenix, I learned it was all a hoax. None of my credits would transfer and I would have to start completely over. After a few years, ITT started their bachelor degree program. I have completed all but 4 classes now. However, I have maxed out my student loans and with out the CPA license I was working towards, I have no way to fund my other 4 classes. I currently owe more on student loans than I do on our house! When I hear of anyone showing interest in going to ITT I tell them to run as fast as they can in the other direction!

ITT Technical Institute predatory company, zero integrity

I am a former instructor for ITT, having chosen to quit after learning the truth about what goes on behind the scenes inside the ITT system.

If you are considering any ITT school, LOOK ELSEWHERE. The reasons?

1) Frankly, you will be embarrassing yourself if you attend there. Anyone can get into ITT; in fact, the recruiters target low-income, minority, and under-qualified candidates to attend. The majority of the students I knew were not even reading or writing at the high-school level. Many of them did not even have a concept of how to behave in a college classroom.

2) You will not find a job unless you are extremely lucky, or self-taught. Companies have wised up to the fact that ITT classes are watered-down and that the degrees are relatively worthless.

3) If you intend to be a serious student, you will be surrounded by people who do not. Trust me. Students at ITT are trained to expect their grades to be handed to them. There is no accountability whatsoever.

4) You will probably not get quality instruction. Instructors are re-hired based on "numbers, " which refers to how many students pass each class, get high grades, attend, etc. The result is that we are basically told, in code, to hand out false or inflated grades, and most instructors do it. We are also trained to treat the students like children. We call them to make sure they come to class, email them about homework, feed them treats to keep attendance up, and have "raffles" and other nonsense incentives to make them feel happy at school.

5) You will be paying more than you would at a prestigious private college.

6) I have taught at multiple colleges over the years, and can say with certainty that the material at ITT is so dumbed-down that I would be embarrassed to teach it to a sixteen-year-old. They design the courses so that it is virtually impossible to fail. This means that the bright and hardworking students gain no skills, and that the lazy students gain a false sense of confidence and ability (since they are getting A's mainly for attending class and turning in sloppy work whose content the instructors are trained to grade for completion, not content).

7) If you try to transfer, you won't be able to. I woke up to what was going on at ITT when some students confided in me that they felt "trapped" at the school because nobody would take their credits. One student of mine was so angry and crushed by ITT that he was willing to start from ground zero at another school (none of his classes transferred-- over a year's worth of school wasted).

Are you convinced yet? I am not saying any of these things as a disgruntled former employee. I left very quietly, choosing to seek work elsewhere because I felt guilty and ashamed about remaining a part of this organization.

It broke my heart to see some really sweet and well-meaning kids get duped into enrolling here. They deserved the truth. So give it a second thought and don't fall into the same pit.

-embarrassed former instructor

I don't know why it is taking so long for the federal government to stop giving our tax dollars to these horrible organizations (all for profit schools). I also worked at ITT in admissions, The comments being left here are accurate and I also had to get out of the environment if I was going to be able to sleep at night. Send Tom Larkin (Iowa) your complaints, he actively monitors the unethical practices in this industry. Keep in mind, 90% of these schools revenue comes directly from the Federal govt. Education should not be putting people in bad positions (inability to pay student loans - debt) while creating billions in profits for the already wealthy investors.

I have a large student loan debt that was presented to me as a grant. Direct Loans claims it was a loan and have my signature to prove it. I was not allowed to see the amount of the checks that I endorsed nor received a receipt for any money that ITT received on my behalf. Find me a job? That was a joke too. No company that I applied at would hire me because i went to ITT which I came to find out is not an accredited school of higher learning. The whole package was grossly misrepresented. Since fighting this battle, I have found many disgruntled students and employees alike. I have not found one person however to say anything on behalf of ITT. Hmmm

Not only arwe the instructors paid on a "numbers" system, but every employee from the janitor on up the food chain to school Directors, Program Directors as well as the upper echelon of management, ie EFOs and CEOs. I know, I'm a former Financial Aid Coordinator, who was asked to defraud the Federal government many, many times in order for my school to make its "numbers." I, too, finally got sick of the total sham of this so-called "education corporation." (Is that an oxymoron or what?)

ITT Technical Institute don't go there

In my opinion I was ripped off by ITT TECH. 50K for a 2 year degree. Was told how I would save lots of money on books, lab fees because they were included with the class cost. Well at $400+ a credit hour and each class being 4 credits. 96 credits later with interest 50K.

Here's my problem. A basic class like Composition 1, same as English 101 at a real college. Here's how they got me. composition 1, 4 credits cost 4X433 Books free = $1732 12 weeks 4 hours = 48 hours of classes.

Now at a real college here's the math. English 101, 3 credits + cost of books.

3X259 + $89 for books = $866. 16 weeks 3 hours = 48 hours of classes

where's the savings? -$866 savings

96 credits for 2 year degree 96X$433+ books free = $41, 568 and that's without interest.

A real college requires about 70-75 credits for 2 year degree. we'll use 75 for this argument.

75 X 239 + books for 25 classes @$100 (high estimate) = $20, 423

Think twice before going to ITT TECH!

I'm sure prices have gone up since I went there. Remember their credits don't transfer anywhere. If you want to get a Bachelors degree, It will cost you you nearly $100, 000.

Try paying for it in today's job market. Won't happen in our lifetime. A house for $100k? or a ITT TECH degree for a $100k.

LEARN BY MY MISTAKE, DON'T GO THERE

I am a former student of ITT Tech, and I'm in the process of forming a case against ITT Tech for fraud based on deceptive business practices, false advertising and predatory lending practices. Anyone who wishes to participate in this effort is free to contact me on my new blog site, www.idiotnotes.com.

My goal is to gather evidence from former staff and students from all over the country and present this evidence to the appropriate agencies who can put a stop to what they are still being allowed to do. Even better than that, I hope to be able to put a strong enough class-action case together on all of our behalves to convince the courts to force ITT to reimburse us for the costs we've all incurred because of their deception.

If we can all get together and fight this, maybe we can at least cause some kind of student loan reform where this illegal activity is no longer allowed to continue and it can no longer rack up victims. And yes, we are victims...we were charged for goods and services that the company did not even attempt to deliver or provide and we deserve to be compensated, or at the very least we deserve a refund of all charges incurred because of this fraud.

ITT Technical Institute stay away

I've submitted complaints about ITT Tech before (on this site and some others). However, there are people out there who claim that the ITT Techs at their location does not suck and offers a very good education. With that said, I guess I can't say every ITT Tech *** since they do operate with over a hundred campuses nationwide. I don't know which ones suck and which ones don't, but I've read blogs and talked to people going to ITT Techs at a lot of other states and most of them have been saying the same things that I have. It's all over the internet and students at my campus are saying the same thing, everyone is saying that ITT Tech offers a very poor quality education and they're overcharging for it. How are they going to charge us an immense amount of tuition as though they were a top notch school like Harvard or M.I.T. when are not a school that is up that high of the totem pole? ITT is among down there in the bottom of the totem pole. The education quality they offer doesn't even come close to that of even a high school education. They over exaggerate their degree programs and their job placement rates just so they can lure in students to collect their pell grants and other financial aid sources, it's like a predator laying a trap to catch it's prey and then sucking it's blood dry. They also use the recession to scare students, and say things like: in today's economy, you have to have a college degree to get a job. Our degree programs get students into recession-proof jobs. With a degree from here, you can make $40-$50, 000 a year right after you graduate (with an associates degree...). And they show you all kinds of statistics to try and back it up. I know all this because I am a current student and they used all these techniques on me the day I enrolled. I was a sucker that fell for it, and now I'm in for something that I'm going to regret big time.

As of right now, my campus increased their tuition to $495 per credit hour and you need 96 credit hours to get an associates. Holy shiet...

12 of my classmates are transferring out to other for profit schools like the University of Phoenix, the Art Institute, etc. They still may be for profit schools, but at least they push you a lot harder so that you'll actually learn something. And my classmates told me that places like the University of Phoenix don't charge as much as ITT.

The reason they chose for profit schools again was because ITT Tech's credit won't transfer anywhere else, but to schools like these. They wished they never enrolled here at ITT in the first place, but it was too late, they've already spend the last 16 months here. They're just glad their credits were able to transfer anywhere at all.

Bottom line is, avoid for-profit schools like ITT Tech. Well, there is nothing wrong with for-profit schools, but just make sure you get the quality education you pay for, not just some S.H.I.T. Tech quality education that won't even make 1st graders break a sweat. I myself am looking for a much better school with a better quality of education. It's going to be tough since I went to a school that's nationally accredited (yes, ITT is accredited by the ACICS, a career college accrediting commission).

What schools like ITT Tech are doing is similar to what the banks did to drive this country towards the recession, in a way. They lure in students into their crappy *** programs and lie to them and sell them fake dreams, etc. And then they take all their pell grant money and make students take out ridiculous amounts of loans that really require a high paying job pay back. Then, when students graduate, no one will hire them because ITT did not really prepare them to enter the workforce or employers recognized how unskilled these graduates are. Some might land jobs, but it might either be at Burger King or at some job that pays only $10-$13 bucks an hour. And with only $10 an hour, how in *** are students expected to pay back over $45, 000 for a degree that did not get them anywhere? The students then find themselves back in day one, the situation where they are struggling to find employment and thought that getting an education was the only way out. The students then are only to find that they've just wasted a lot of time and have been scammed for all their money.

Students are most likely to default on loans and have no way of paying the money back, because they are barely able to make ends meet. They might try to file for bankruptcy, but they don't know that it's extremely hard to file bankruptcy on student loans.

Next thing you know, you have thousands and thousands of students who went to for-profit schools like ITT and cannot afford to pay loans back.

What do you think will happen next? Another bailout?

Please, please, please, please, please! Do not pick this school to invest in getting an education in. You will regret it big time. ITT Tech does not adequately prepare students to enter the job market so why should you be in debt over a degree that won't get you anywhere in life?

When I first spoke with the reps at ITT they informed me that it wasn't difficult to drop if you absolutely had to, which it wasn't at all. They get a ton of money out of you if you complete your program or if you drop.

Think before you ever sign any paperwork. Is $47K really worth it? When you get out you will be working just to pay off your loans.

From my experience the instructors were really nice and knew what they were talking about. The problem arises when you have to drop after attending for 2 weeks (6 classes total)! You are then paying for 50% of the quarter and that equates to roughly $3, 600.00. Ok, not the end of the world.

What they neglect to tell you is if you drop that early on your loans are null and void and that they send your balance off to a collection agency. If that balance isn't paid off in 3 months it will have a negative affect on your credit report and you will have that burdon for 7 years.

Now I am going to be stuck with this negative mark for the next 7 years because I cannot afford to pay them roughly $1, 200.00 per month.

My advice to anyone thinking of enrolling really think about the cost. You can go anywhere else and not have to pay that much money for an education. They are extremely overpriced and the financial aid department that I delt with was giving me wrong information.

I agree, the only people that are receiving "a quality education" are the same people that are still flipping burgers before and after attending ITT-Tech. Coming from a CNS background I have had no formal training in computers science. What i know, i have learned from experience. My experience far surpasses most of the teachers that are employees for the school. I don't understand how students that are unable to install an Operating System or show you where a power plug is in the back of a computer will graduate with a degree in Computer Network and Security. How can any school explain that?

This is true for ANY for-profit college. If you drop out of college, your loans are due immediately. Financial Aid should have told you that, and if they didn't, I am SURE it is in your paperwork you neglected to read.

ITT Technical Institute very poor education quality

I am a current student here at this school and I'm sad to say that I highly regret coming here in the first place. First reason is the quality of education and the second reason is the cost.
When I first started here, I was very enthusiastic and motivated about pursuing higher education and thought I was in the right place to be. I was a high school student who graduated one year prior to enrollment at ITT. Little did I know that this school was a for-profit school that was all about making money and NOT delivering the product their students are paying for (a quality education). Now there is nothing wrong with this school trying to make money since they are for-profit, but they should at least make their curriculum a little more challenging and push their instructors to do a better job of teaching. If these instructors are already doing their best, then they should be fired. I remember back in my junior high and high school days, our teachers would do a better job of teaching than these ###s.
As of now, my campus is charging $495 per credit hour and you need 96 credits for an associates degree. They are charging us like they are some renowned top-notched school like Harvard, when they are actually a low quality, suckass school with very many unhappy employees. I would have to say, from my experience, that this school would rank down there among the lowest when it comes to the education quality. And what's bizarre is, if they are offering such a poor quality education why are they charging so much for it?
I've also seen many students who graduated from my ITT campus that can't find employment. The ones that do find jobs are NOT working in the fields they've spent 2 years studying and those jobs will not provide any relevant experience (a new hire at my job recently graduated from ITT Tech with an associates in criminal justice, and with that degree, what on earth is he doing here detailing cars? He told me he had trouble finding a job, even after brushing up his resume and practicing his interview skills with real life professionals who are current parole officers). I've also talked to some other grads and from what I've heard from them, they were just fortunate to land any job at all. But it's jobs where they do not make enough to even be able to pay back student loans after the six months grace period. How are you supposed to pay back a $45, 000 debt with interest incurred, when you're only making $10 an hour? You can barely pay rent with that much, let alone keep the lights on.
After everything that I've seen from fellow students who started school before me and already graduated, I began worrying a lot to the point where I could not sleep at night. I kept thinking to myself, will I be able to find work after I graduate? Will I even be able to land an entry level job like tech support or helpdesk? And I'm not expecting to land some job that pays $50-$60, 000 a year right out of school, I know that you do have to gain experience and work your way up. But, it's sorry if I graduate and can't even land a job like tech support.
Sure, they tell us it's the experience that matters the most, but how do you gain experience if your degree won't even get you an entry level job that will provide you with any relevant experience? That's the whole point of going to school in the first place, to earn a degree and get a basic entry level job (that has to do with your field) and work your way up. I've been going to all my classes, did all my homework and studied hard, so I've been putting a lot of work to try to get something out of this school, but it just seems like it's all going to go to waste.
If graduates here aren't getting jobs, then it must be that employers don't recognize ITT as a reputable school and don't want any unskilled graduates. I'd like to transfer out now, but can't because no other school will take ITT Tech's credits. If I drop out now, I will have a huge debt that I don't know how I'm going to pay back. This is just horrible. Our government should do something about school like ITT Tech. What they are doing is a crime and they should not be allowed to operate and do business. If they are going to charge over $45, 000 just for an associates, then they better make sure students get their moneys worth. They're having students take out an awful lot of money that they won't even be able to pay back with the jobs they get upon graduation. I should have went to community college and transferred to a university like the rest of my friends. Now I feel like I fell way behind all of them.
People, do not consider going to this school. It's just not worth it. Sure, you can't expect to land a $50, 000 job with a 2-year degree, but if that's the case then why not get your degree elsewhere like a community college, where the cost is significantly less and you'll be getting a better quality of education? If an associates degree won't get you that far, then why pay $45, 000 for one? Pay ten times less at a community college.

ITT Technical Institute waste of money

ITT Technical Institute is a joke. One would be better off taking a fake bank to the check, take $100 of $5000 and send the rest to some anonymous address overseas. I taught at ITT a couple of years ago and trust me it is all about the students. The students can do whatever they want and still pass. One student came once out of 11 weeks and got an A. One of the deans changed the grade.

At the ITT in Maryland, most of the students cannot read and write. And they are always questioning the instructor and complaining to the dean. The instructor's work area is ridiculous, as there are "new computers" running XP with no service packs. Student computers are even worse.

And some of the faculty and staff got involved with students. Especially a librarian who seemed to date a new student every week. Humanities is taught there, but where are the ethics? There are none. The school lies and gets students to sign up for loans by Sallie Mae, frauds, who are part of the bailout crooks.

The cost for this college is unbelievable, as $40, 000 will earn an associate degree to nowhere. It is unaccredited, but with ITT's purchase of an accredited college last summer, they can claim accreditation.

It is more or less a camp for mostly adults who cannot go to real college. I did encounter some students who really did want to learn and I told them to go to a real college.

It would be a mistake going here, but one could always hide it by recalling Oscar Wilde's suggestion: "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes."

A good friend of mine decided to attend ITT Tech in 2008 and I decided to check it out. First scam is they charge $100 to take what they call a "Entrance Exam" which is so stupid it makes attempt to see what kind of level of education you have.

He was passed on classes he totally Failed and which he had no actual training. After he graduated with god knows how many loans he had taken out he couldn't find a job for squat. He did eventually land an IT job at a Hospital where his mom worked which was the only way for him to get in. ITT Tech is a pure crap school.

If you want a real education go to a Community College then transfer to a University. I'm almost done with my Education at Cal State LA and I probably have 10 times more education than he does at this point.

ITT Technical Institute poor education, con job, horrible company for which to work

Hello all. I left my job as a representative/recruiter at ITT Technical Institute, not long ago. I have been perusing through the complaints online and have decided to share with you what we are taught as "Educational Recruiters/Counselors" at ITT Technical Institute.

First of all, be wary of any place that asks you to come visit the school and all of a sudden, you are being asked to schedule a financial aid appt. You see, as a former rep, I was instructed by my supervisor just to sell you guys the appointment and once you get in the school, make the sale.

Second, you will be told it is about you, the student. Well, wake up! It is not about you, it is about you attending ITT and padding the pockets of the Tax Accountants and Fat Cats that own and run the business. It is a For Profit Organization. That means it is about the bottom line and essentially, the students that sit in class make the bottom line.

Third, Check the credentials of your instructors or all instructors! At any other college or university, you must hold a Masters Degree or Higher to be an instructor. A Bachelors will not do. I have more education than the District Manager, the same as the School Director, more than my supervisor, the financial aid director and most of the instructors. The Dean is the only person there that had more education than I and I was relegated to the lowest position of employ on the campus, Recruiter/Representative.

Fourth, Always ask to see the figures on placement and average salary for the last years graduates. IT IS YOUR RIGHT TO SEE THAT INFORMATION. Don't be caught spending that $45K for an Associate Degree when your annual income will average less than half of what your education cost. CJ students be very wary! Don't let anyone, not even the instructors tell you you can use this degree to go into forensics or law school. YOU CAN'T. Forensics requires alot of science and anatomy, something you will not get at ITT. And as of last check, there is no "online or walk-in" law school in this country and that is the only type of law school you would be accepted to if you get an ITT CJ degree. Remember, universities with law schools also have undergraduate programs to make sure you get the correct classes in order to meet entrance requirements.

Fifth, Yes, ITT is accredited through the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) and every Rep will try to tell you that it is an important thing. Guess what! It means absolutely nothing to any other school that you apply too. It is a national accreditation and all state and local (non-profit) schools have a regional accreditation and will not accept your transfer credits. So, unless you go to another nationally accredited school, you will not advance your education past your ITT Diploma. Why do you think they put that disclaimer on their commercials that "not all credits will transfer". Protecting their butts!

Now that I have shared some tidbits, let me explain why the reps do what they do. It is all about production, meaning that the more students they enroll, the more time off they get and the higher their salary rate goes. We are given a quarterly quota and woe be the rep that doesn't meet the goal. They will be working Saturdays, forced overtime, and placed on a 90 day letter that ultimately results in termination if they do not improve their enrollments. That is why we call you more than once or twice. You see, it really isn't about you. It is about me and being able to keep my job and keep food on my table so that my kids can get braces and be in gymnastics. It upsets reps when you fail the entrance exam or can't qualify for enough financial aid to cover the cost. Oh yeah, that reminds me. Did you know that if you cannot cover the cost of school with the Federal Aid (which you won't) that ITT will float the remainder of your balance, at no interest, until your next installment of Federal Aid and the time that you may qualify for a personal education loan! Sounds good, doesn't it? Personal education loans, the interest is based on your credit score and will be significantly higher than a Federal Loan and in most cases, you will be floating a higher balance than what the Federal Aid covers in the first place. So, ITT gets their money and you get a high interest rate. Bad thing is, the company preys on those who cannot afford the $493.00/Qtr Credit Hour cost. Yeah, a university could cost you more, but they have more FA opportunities in place to help those less fortunate afford an education. You can go to a community college or JUCO and cover the whole thing with Federal Aid. I have some guilt for working for ITT for as long as I did. I never quite understood how people couldn't see right through the BS, but then I realized that I am presenting myself as a counselor and a mentor. That is when I woke up and quit ITT Tech. If anything I have integrity and when I realized that it wasn't really, truly about the students, I had to decide if my integrity, pride in who I am, conscience, and professionalism were worth selling out for the company and the answer is "no". So, if this little dab of information helps you make the "right" decision for your future, then yeah, it was worth leaving and I wish I had done it long ago. Don't forget, in 2004, the Corporate Headquarters in Indiana was raided by the Feds. Can you really trust an "institution" that the Feds don't trust?

I actually went in yesterday and spoke with an enrollment counselor who informed me that this was a golden opportunity and wanted me to take a test and apply for financial aid. After seeing the cost of $465 per credit hour I stopped him and advised him that this was a program for someone who couldn't do any better. The tuition is extremely high and you can obtain a quality education from a local community college for much less. In fact if you do the research, you will realize that you can obtain a Masters degree for what they are charging for an associates degree. I was told to look at it as an investment in my education. I informed them that I already have Bachelors from a private University which didn't cost this much and didn't see the benefit of a $50, 000.00 Associates Degree. I also asked if they were an accredited program and the counselor danced around the question by telling me about other programs that they were registered in but never would say if the school was nationally accredited. This is a very important factor because most employers want accept degrees unless it from a nationally accredited program.

ITT Technical Institute poor quality education, inflexible system

I finished up a two year degree in Computers and IT at a two year college and decided to further my education by returning to school for a Bachelor's at ITT Tech.

I began speaking with my recruiter, who was very pleasant but pretty much rushed me into a meeting with her. I met with the recruiter and I took the entrance exam, yes ITT Tech actually has an entrance exam, after I passed I was shown a nice powerpoint that pretty much made me feel like this was the perfect decision to make. When I told her that I already possessed an associate's degree in IT work she basically told me, "too bad, tough luck." I was then informed that I would have to repeat the associates program through ITT Tech in order to even begin working on the bachelor's degree. They told me some of my credits would transfer, and they did, but I still have to complete five quarters out of eight just for the associates. So think twice before deciding whether to go to ITT Tech if you plan to grow from associate's degree to bachelor's.

I got through all of the registration and began my first quarter, thinking that completing another associate's would be no problem. The first quarter went smoothly and I got two A's and a B. I thought for sure I would get an A in that last class but for some reason all the questions on the final were things that were never covered in class. The reason I did get a B was thanks to my homework that I had completed. After the grades came in I went to my dean and asked for four classes per quarter. I was given the go ahead but I never saw that fourth class.

I began my second quarter during December and that's where all my major problems began occuring. First day of class and my books weren't in stock. Nearly every class has homework issued on the first night and I couldn't do it because only five people had books. When I went back to get the books on week two the books that had already come in were already out of stock, again! I didn't recieve my book until the third week of class. And it put me behind horribly, as the amount of work for the class was quite heavy and I've been playing catch up ever since.

On the first day of class we were having lecture and all of a sudden a group of people over in the corner were beginning to get kind of loud. Our teacher called over to them, "Can you guys quiet down, I'm trying to teach a class." One of them replied with, "So am I." ITT actually scheduled more than one class in that room at one time. That's just the tip of the iceburg, we only had access to the lab for an hour and a half before moving into a lecture room for the rest of class. How are we supposed to learn in a class that requires a lot of hands on, if we spend most of the night in a lecture room? I had two classes where we switched out like this. One was WAN Technology and the other was Linux. How can you learn these concepts without a computer to work on?

One day I got to school early and plugged in my netbook at a station and then a staff member kicks me and another student out of our room so that they can have a faculty meeting in there. That one sent me over the top. I sent the nastiest e-mail I think I've ever written to ITT's feedback line detailing just about every problem I have listed in this complaint. A week later I got a call from my department head telling me he needs to meet with me. I met with him and the Associate Dean. They told me I had to appologize for the letter I had sent. I appologized for the language I used, the worst of which was the word "stupid". The Associate Dean told me that our campus was not over capacity and that all ITT Tech schools practice the class rotation system. She said there aren't enough computers for all the students to have access to one, thanks for stating that obvious point, so we have to rotate out. If they are lacking that many computers then I think they need to get more computers, not limit our time on them. We did address the faculty meetings, which in my letter I had called stupid and was made to appologize for. I think this aspect has been cleared up. Ever since our talk I have not encountered a faculty meeting since. I also complained about one of my teachers and I was told that they would talk to him and have him adapt his methods since the entire class was clueless. We would sit and watch him put Linux commands into his computer and never understand why he was doing what he was doing. After speaking with the Associate Dean, my teacher has still not changed his methods and as the final draws close the class still has no clue.

Also know that ITT Tech has almost all their books written for them. The books are generally horribly planned out, full of errors and at times make absolutely no sense at all.

The teachers are almost always adjunct, and this in itself can be a double edged blade. Generally adjunct teachers work in the field in which they teach. This means that they have great real world experience and can really be great teachers, however they aren't usually great teachers, as they either don't care enough about teaching or they just don't know how to teach. Knowing something and being able to teach it are two entirely different things. ITT Tech doesn't seem to have a very good screening process for teachers.

Being a career college you would expect more flexabilty in scheduling. This coming quarter I have been scheduled for two of the three days that I currently work at my job. I was told that in order to change my schedule I must have a letter, written on my employers letterhead, stating that I can't come to school those days. Are you kidding me? I pay thousands of dollars a quarter and your telling me I don't even have full control over my schedule, and I have to involve my employers in the process. I'm sorry but if I pay you money you had better do everything in your power to make me the happiest person alive. ITT Tech is a for-profit school and you really can tell what matters more to them when it comes to students or money. I got the written letter from my work and turned it in to the registrar. I was then told that no classes were available for me and I was basically either gonna have to choose between work or school. Thanks a lot ITT Tech. I understand that the campus is small and not every class is offered every quarter but come on, don't you dare make me jump through hoops only to find out it was all for nothing.

ITT Tech also forces you to use this thing called the Virtual Library for your research projects. It's a virtual collection of articles and books. They push this on the students because they pay for it and have to have so many students accessing it. I have not found a good reason to use this tool. It's cumbersome and clumsy and generally it's more helpful, and faster, just to find the information online, but most projects state in them that one of your sources MUST come from the Virtual Library. When you use it every link will open one more browser window and you will end up with a screen cluttered with Internet browsers.

ITT Tech is by far the most irritating school I've ever dealt with. They don't care about the students needs and when students complain, the complaints are generally swept under the rug. I would stop going but with all the money I've put into it, I feel I need to get something out of this miserable experience, so I plan to finish this associate's degree and then be done with ITT Tech for good. I'll try my luck at a real four year school that actually cares about me as a student. Do not believe the commercials, they are trained actors, not actually real ITT students. They actually make you sign a release form when you start here saying that you would be willing to participate in a commercial, just so you actually think the commercials are real. I mean the release form doesn't even look legit. It was faded and messy, and just looked like it was thrown together. Don't take my word for this though, I just have a very high suspicion that they aren't actually real students in the commercials.

If you are considering ITT Tech try looking many other places before committing yourself to this. Always check the complaints and the success stories when looking at schools. It is always up to you to weed through all the hecklers and find the true complaints from people who are actually dissatisfied and not out just to harm the school. Trust me I was extremely excited when I started at ITT Tech, and it all seemed great but after all the problems I stated above I really don't think I can say the same anymore. I hope I save someone from making the same mistake I did. Perhaps ITT Tech isn't the school for me and it's perfectly right for you, just do your research first and be aware of what you are getting into before you commit.

March 30, 2012, I am an ITT Tech student(Ft. Lauderdale campus), and I agree with the majority of the complaints. What bothers me the most is that I didn't research anything about ITT. I have 8 weeks left until graduation. I went into the Computer Electronics Engineering Technology program knowing nothing. Almost 8 quarters later I know more than I did going in, but I know I won't get a job because I won't do well on an employment test. I am trying to stay positive and hopeful about my future. I am planning to go to a community college for Networking Services Technology in South FL. after some research. The degree I will receive from ITT will only remind me that
mistakes are made but don't give up. If you read this and you work in the field and have lots of experience then go to ITT. It will be an expensive and easy degree, but why waste your money and intelligence. For those of you who aren't sure, research..research everything you do in life. I'm not going to say don't go to ITT Tech. I am a current student that went in with optimism and I am walking out with uncertainty and student loans that I will have a difficult time repaying. Good luck to everyone and arm yourself with information.

I have a list of complaints from this so-called university, too many to list in this forum so I will focus on the most important ones. As a single mother, tempted by the commercials of a brighter future, I attended ITT Tech, Green Bay WI Campus, from [protected] and have an Associate's "Degree" in Multimedia.

My 1st quarter, two weeks before the final grading, our instructor walked off with our grades. We then had a fill in, and we were literally graded on two weeks worth of work for two classes. For some students doing poorly, this increased their grade and GPA, for others doing well, it lowered their grade and GPA. Some students dropped out after this, and in hindsight, I wish I was one of them.

Grade inflation was evident throughout my experience at ITT, which exception to two math classes, which were the only classes I would say were actually college level learning. The rest of the classes were not challenging, and some of the classes I even did ind. studies for since I had already taught myself things far beyond what this school taught me. For our Operating Systems class, I had to practically teach the DOS section. Our economics class has tests that were open book. (I'd like to note, one student who attended the UW college system, majoring in economics, was unable to transfer his REAL college credits. On the same note, ITT credits do not transfer anywhere but ITT.)

Our books were printed in India, were full of errors and poor translations.

Additionally, while we were promised help with job placement, that did not happen for anyone.

Do not waste your time and money with this school. Do not be fooled by the easy federal loans, as you will most likely have your resume thrown in the trash if an employer sees ITT, and will be unable to repay your loan, accruing interest and possibly ending up in a default status. ITT Tech is owned by ITT Corp, and I suggest doing a little bit of research about what ITT Corp does.

Several of my former classmates and I would be interested in a class action lawsuit against this school.

My bf wen't to ITT Tech and graduated this past November. He didn't really have many complaints except for it being too easy and knowing more than the instructors half the time. While he was in school he ended up getting a job in an IT department and when he graduated he also got promoted and given a substantial raise which they told him was due to him having a degree. So even though he wouldn't necessarily recommend others choosing that school, his did have a happy ending ... for both of us.

ITT Technical Institute fradulent application for loans

ITT TECHNICAL Institute - SALLIE MAE

I would like someone to contact me, I want to file a lawsuit against ITT Technical Institute when applying for school in 2002 I was told sallie mae was my only option. ITT Technical Institute failed to state my accurate race which is Hispanic and they entered my data as a Caucasian. (I just discovered this error in January 2010 when reviewing the original documentation) I believe I have a strong case against ITT Tech for doing this. I would have received free government loans if my race was entered as Hispanic now I'm almost homeless paying three loans to Sallie mae one at 13.25% interest and the other two at 10.25%

Please read my story here.

I am a former honors graduate from ITT Tech, the school if you could call it that is a joke, they are con artist. I hope one day several former students bring a class action lawsuit against the school for shady practices. I would happily sign on board with a lawsuit against the school. A short story, I started in the Architectural drafting program with 35 students after 2 years there were 5 that graduated out of that 5, 1 has a job in the field, but all of us have more than $40, 000 in debt for 2 years..

My son signed up for a computer course at ITT. He told them that he would not be able to afford to attend unless he quailified for a grant. He had no job and I did not feel that ITT was right for him so I refused to give them my financial information. He attended two classes. The first class was an orientation and the second class was one that had started several weeks prior to his signing up. All of this happened before he found out that he did not quailify for a grant. Upon being told he did not quailify for grant funds he returned his books (unused / unopened) and never returned. Several months later he was informed he owed ITT somewhere in the neighborhood of $5000.00. It has been over a year now and he is constantly being called by a collection agency. Beware - the paperwork you complete is an approved loan application basicly a promissary note.

I have worked in financial aid in the past, and to my knowledge, there is no free government loans made specifically to the Hispanic race. That being said, there are scholarships that are designed to help Hispanics pay for school, but they have nothing to do with Sallie Mae. What law did ITT Tech break that makes you feel that you have a case against them?

ITT Technical Institute fraud

I am working for ITT and I know what’s going on, everybody knows ITT-TECH and their fabricated information and invented reports, I am surpassed they still in the education business, they should be in the Sublime loans or any fraud and unethical business. The only concern of the management in the HQ is to increase profits and do not care about students, I believe ITT Tech soon will go down because I know about many lawsuits waiting for ITT.

Who would have thought that an educational institute in the U.S.A can be allowed to be up and running with so many complaints, ethics, morals violations, and educational deception and fraud.

I made the big mistake of thinking that this school was a good school with all the advertisement there is of this institution. But it is a fraudulent institute that I myself, an adult fell for this scam. First I went there and went through the process of the interview and all the information put into the system for the financial aid and said that I did not qualify. After two weeks, they call me back to come back and said that the representative must've done something wrong. I went there again, BIG MISTAKE, and said, first, that I had done great on the scoring of the test for admission and than they approved me for the financial aid, that is the student loans. The four classes I had were not what is expected of a college level course; second, the classes do not extend the full schedule time. Than you end up paying more for tuition than if you just went to a regular college or university. ITT credits are not acceptable by other Colleges or Universities, so if you plan on transferring, that money just went down the drain. I attended there one semester only and dropped out due to disappointment and frustration. Now I have a debt due to the loans of a LITTLE over $6, 000 and ITT still says I have a balance of over $1, 000 with them. The government also in with this fraud for allowing these loans without a more rigid acceptance. There is no government or city agency that you can enter a legal claim.
There are all these complaints against ITT Technical Institute across the country and the government does nothing about it. Most of the young adults that get into that Institute are minority groups being taken advantage of. Where is the justice in this country. THIS ITT TECHNICAL INSTITUTE IS NOT PROVIDING A HIGH QUALITY EDUCATION. THERE ARE MANY AS MYSELF THAT ARE BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE BY THIS BUSINESS. IS THIS BUSINESS OWNED BY PEOPLE WITH MONEY THAT ARE BEING PROTECTED IN THEIR DIRTY DEALINGS. Even though I am an adult with grown children that somehow thought that I would achieve a dream by going to this school and getting a degree and was ripped off, I still feel very sorry for those young people getting in debts on loans fraudulently being taken by this so call school. I hope there is someone with knowledge and courage to bring them down. I will keep spreading the word. Because there is nothing more powerful than word of mouth. Keep talking people. FREEDOM OF SPEECH...

Story in short I received my associate degree in 2005 from ITT in Computer and Electrical Engineering. I had teachers with strong accents who I couldn't understand, teachers were teaching classes and had no idea what they were teaching. I literally had an entire semester class on hubs. The classes were a job, the teachers didn't teach, I have been actually told by employers that I was not hired because I specifically went to ITT-Tech. I truthfully hope ITT burns in hell, I am going through wage garnishment because I couldn't afford to make a dent in the $700 a month sallie Mae wanted up front. I wish they would teach you in high school how to avoid places like that and what to look for. I could have learned more from youtube videos then what I got from ITT.

I have to agree with "current ITT employee". I also work in "upper level" management at a regional ITT. All full and part time instructors are very dedicated. Academic Affairs including the Dean, Chairs, etc. are very dedicated and put in 60hour weeks. Our reps are also dedicated and do as much as they can to get the right student into the right program. Yes ITT is expensive but it is open enrollment here and does not require entrance exams. I see many of our students do quite well when they get out. We bend over backwards to help but we do not grantee them a job. I know we try and prep them to succeed but alias there are students that just can't polish up their act. Putting down the CEO is funny and after meeting him I can honestly say he is all wind. His first and foremost duty is to the stockholder. ITT is a for profit school and unfortunately is a bonus driven entity like most publicly owned stock holder owned companies. I do firmly believe as of this writing that corporate is putting way too much pressure to cut corners making the director’s job impossible. The statement is true that corporate is constantly changing the numbers on the performance reviews to their advantage. They make full time staff work for specific goals based on a 1 to 5 scale, 1 being best. The scale a year ago where a person would get a 1 is now worth a 3. Those getting 3's in the past are in the 5 range now. This is another way corporate is cutting costs by unfairly changing the goals. This and the other items stated by "current ITT employee" are demoralizing. I am not sure the Director here is "looking" but many others are including full time instructors. Good instructors are hard to find and train and keep. I get the feeling that corporate would bring over foreign instructors and pay them half if they could get away with it. They recently did away with a bonus system and replaced it with a merit raise. Some of the high performing full time instructors could make over $5K in bonuses because of their excellence in teaching. Now they cannot and many are looking elsewhere. As stated before the staff at ITT is top notch but corporate sucks the life out of anyone and anything they can. They consider employees expendable and treat them as a commodity.

I work at ITT. Corporate is micromanaging ALL levels of our school to the point where all of us (full time) types from the director down are looking very hard to get out of there. Currently corporate, meaning Mr. midget Modany is requiring all school to make sure we have a higher student to teacher ratio. That saves him money (for over 135 schools) so Napoleon Modany can save more / still receive his ungodly bonus, last year it was over 6 or 8 million dollars. The managers here must take on more tasks and cannot spend any money. His shortness is so paranoid about the government digging into ITT business we cannot do anything or hand out anything unless corporate checks it first. It takes a lot of time to do this, so the students suffer no matter what we need approves. ITT should stand for it takes time. Modany cares nothing about students, instructors, chairs, deans, etc. It is all about making a profit. If by chance through our hard work and thriftiness we happen to do well with our Personal Performance review by hitting all of our “numbers”, maybe the students may come out ahead. For our performance criteria we are given goals that we have absolutely no control over. That way corporate gives us CRAP raises because we cannot meet or numbers. We are forced to call back students that we either should not call back for academic reasons, or students that simply cannot afford the almost $50K for an associates degree. This forced mess is called a reentry and is a revenue stream that corporate loves. It is more cost effective to bring in struggeling students than it is to dig up new ones. I hear that the chairs spend so much time doing this task that it takes precedence over most anything else, and they are over worked the way it is. Again, working for Modany’s yacht payment, not the students needs. The instructors here are very dedicated and really care about the students and what they learn. We all try very hard to make sure we do a great job despite the lack of care from corporate. Corporate spends more time trying to get dignitaries into coming to visit campuses (like Senators and Representatives from state and federal government) so we play well to the public and we grease the right palm. I would think the future golden parachute CEO could tithe his bonus and make available scholarships for the students, or at least give something back. Geez, there is so much more wrong with this place. Good thing at a local level we all care and do our jobs well. I am very proud of the effort all of us put forth and know first hand that many do go on to great jobs. For the students it is what they make it, just like any other college or university. God bless them all.

As an adjunct professor at a state university I have heard many horror stories from my own students who attended ITT Tech. A huge number of students end up owing large sums of money to ITT, whereupon ITT refuses to release a transcript. About 10 years ago I decided to investigate: I called them and asked how I could get a catalogue that detailed their degree requirements together with a listing/ descriptions of all their course offerings. At first the person on the phone acted like they'd never heard of such a thing! Then they finally said Oh Yes, they did have some printed material that they could send. What arrived bore zero resemblance to anything a bona fide institution of higher learning would publish for their students... it was in fact a corporate report, mainly showing their vast earnings!
