unfair business practices
Some years ago, I accepted a Juniper credit card in my name, and my husband got one in his name. We are good customers, and never missed a payment on these cards.
Some months ago, they closed my card. It really badly affected my credit - both from losing open credit, and also from the card being closed by the vendor.
Recently, we used the card up close to the $3, 500 limit. I paid the balance off last week, $3, 440, and then they reduced the credit limit. We were notified that my husband's credit limit was being reduced from $3, 500 to $500. We never missed a payment, and often paid the balance in full!
Beware of this company. They badly affected our credit scores. Totally unfair. I could see it if we had missed payments, if we were behind, or if we didn't pay the minimums. Not the case. We were good customers and paid every month, always more than the minimum.
When I called and asked them to reconsider, the account manager was rude, woudn't listen to me, and kept talking over me.
I will make it my life's mission to tell every person I come in contact with, about Juniper Credit Card.

Corrupt Business Practice, exhorbent fees, poor customer service, outright liars and pack of thieves
I accepted a credit card from Juniper Bank in 2007. Credit limit at that time was 3250.00. Juniper reduced my credit limit in July of 2008 without notice and then paid a bill which I am still in dispute of that put me over the new limit. Due to my disbelief when I received my bill in August which notified me of over the limit fee of $39.00 AND a charge on my account I did not authorize of 19.00 I began a dispute process which caused a LATE fee of another 39.00. I actually approved and charged only 17.00 in the whole year of 2008. Juniper not only did not respond to my disputed charge but continued to place late fees and over the limit fees AND raised my interest rate from 5.9 percent to a whopping 27 percent just for exercising my right to dispute a charge that Juniper authorized. Juniper continued to place fees and fees upon me to the point where I thought I was dealing with an illegal clandestine preditory lender with absolutely no accountability for their actions. I continued to battle with this company to no avail they finally offered me a hardship program after they racked up over 850 dollars in fees and I still have no response to the item in dispute which caused this whole mess. Juniper has caused so much harm to me it makes me physically ill to be cohersed into a "hardship program" because this bank caused the hardship in the first place. They extort money from me every month and try to tell me I am getting some kind of a break as they reduced the interest rate to 5.9 percent until February of 2011 at which time they will reset it and this will begin all over again. I have not even paid all the charges Juniper placed on my account due to their reckless handling of my credit line, reputation and credit reporting. The damage they caused is incomprehensable beginning with ruining my credit, causing other credit cards to follow suit with closing and increasing my interest rates, insurance went up over $500 for my home on and on and on. Hell is too good for these preditors surely there will be some relief for consumers who have been harmed by this corrupt company. In the meanwhile I will continue to try to find HELP, and filing bankruptcy shouldn't be my option for simply refusing to pay a charge in dispute and attempting to get assistance from this negligent company that is STILL in business. WHY is this company still in business ruining consumers lives. I have lost a little bit of faith in humankind and want to empower myself and other's to not be victimized and make this company accountable. Of course as I educate myself more about the CEOs of Juniper past they have been handed cush government jobs with large compensation for stealing, lying and turning a blind eye to corruption. UNBELIEVABLE! I know of one person that is taking this to court because Juniper ran his fees up just like mine to the point where he could not pay. Juniper sold his account to a collection agency which began court proceedings to collect FEES. He was able to obtain an attorney and is fighting this case. He cannot buy a car, house, rent another apartment, get credit cards and all of this because of JUNIPER. I hope he wins because if he does I win too. I will follow suit and hire an attorney to fight this company and sue for civil damages. I live in Kansas and sure hope there will be a class action because I want to be included in that as well. Is there anything I can do NOW before I am completely ruined. February 2011 is coming up and Juniper will rear it's ugly head something I am not looking forward too.

Simple-Always have paid my account on time. Juniper sent me a letter saying they were raising my interest rate to 29.99% from 12.44%. I opted out to keep the say rate and closed my account. They raised my interest rate anyway and charged me an overlimit fee. Customer service did nothing and even sending a complaint letter to corporate did nothing. Juniper needs to be sued! They are crooks.

REPORT THEM TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. THIS BANK IF COMPLETE FRAUD. LOOK AT ALL YOUR COMPLAINTS. THEY TAKEN MY MONEY BY CHARGING ME THEIR OWN FEES. I WILL NOT LET THEM DO THIS TO ME. I NEED MY MONEY FOR MY FAMILY. REPORT THEM TO THE ABOVE WEBSITE. THE MORE COMPLAINTS, A LAWSUIT CAN BE PROCESSES AGAINST THEM FOR OUR MONEY BACK.
Juniper charges you interest on new purchases made and get this - they charge you interest on money YOU HAVE ALREADY PAID BACK! Stop using them immediately! If people don't stop using them they will continue doing this!
Penalty Interest
Beware of Barclays Bank Delaware!
My penalty interest kicked in for paying my Barclays/Juniper Credit Card bill on March 1, 2010...two days too early! My closing date was March 3, 2010.
You have got to be kidding!
I've been paying 100 times or more the minimum amount required in an attempt to maintain good credit and be a responsible consumer. I guess they were just NOT making enough $$$ off of me when I attempted to keep balances low and in control.
Just one more chance for the banks that we bailed out as taxpayers to find and use an excuse to get us once again!

Over limit fees
Shoulda looked at this website before. All the complaints describe the same problems I am having. Went over my limit by $27 and they charged me a overlimit fee. I understood that and and thought I paid enough to cover the fee and bring my balance well under the limit. Nope. No more charges to the credit card, but finance charges brought me over the limit again and another fee. Paid even more the next cycle, but yet another fee. They did not inform me of what I needed to pay to avoid another overlimit fee. Three overlimit fees! Two based solely on finance charges. Horrible horrible company. Money hungry and very poor customer service. Never late with a payment. Tranferred the balance, but still fighting with them over two over limit fees. Pissed off! Why do the responsible people always get the shaft?

I wouldn't be "over" my limit except for their ridiculous fees.
late charges
Victims through out the United States. There is good news, if you could call it good news. New laws will be implemented within a year to deal with the unfair and deceptive business practices conducted by all banks that hold credit cards. How far will these new laws go, no one knows? However, there was a company by the name of Providian's that was brought to justice in 2003. Providian's called the complaints against them allegations, yet they ended up paying $4 million in restitution. The state of California brought the lawsuit on behalf of the consumers. Folks, take a few minutes out of your busy schedules and file a complaint with your state attorney. Remember, we, the public, vote for these individuals. The more complaints they generate against a particular company, the more likely they are to investigate the allegations. It is important to keep track of your statements. When you send your payments out and in what method you pay them. It's a good idea to send your payments by register mail, even if they refuse to sign the document, it is proof that you attempted to pay on time. Monitor your phone calls, time, date, person, and detail notes of the discussion. When all fails, make copies of everything and submit the complaint to your state attorney. You voted for your favorite politician, then, start to write letters of complaint, call them, or even visit them. Whether you like the President or not, write to him and inform him of the abuses he contributed to by bailing out these banks. These banks are double charging the consumers. Our tax money was used to bail them, and they in turn, are charging us ridiculous amounts of money. A good source of information regarding the case is www.commondreams.org.

Unethical fraud & abuse of current bankrupty laws
I was sent a Juniper credit card offer in the mail with an interest rate of 8.9% in Feb. 2008. In June, they lowered my credit limit with out notifying me. When I used my card to make a purchase, they did not decline the charge allowing me to become over the credit limit. This way, they could attach extra fees onto my acount making the account even more over my credit limit. They also could then increase my interest rate to 27.9%.
I was also told by a smart ### customer service rep. (from Juniper) that the credit card companies that headquarter in Deleware and South Dakota are allowed much more power than other states. That is why alot of them move to those states. I did not know this before all of this.
I believe in all the cases I have read though, they are guilty of unethical and illegal banking. They are a true prediter.
This is an example of credit card companies taking advantage of the curent Bankruptcy laws being in their favor! As for me, I am seeing a lawyer on Tuesday. Wish me luck!

Stay away
I transferred high rate CC due to low never rising interest rate, was not an introductory offer. Not only did they raise my rate after paying more than my limit, which they never disclosed, (they paid the other cards anyway) then promptly increased my rate to 27% plus. I am pissed and willing to let anyone know (who will listed) to stay away from this BANK. Their charges and practices on unfair business practice and non disclosure. For a 100 word min. what more can I say other than they are prime examples of what is wrong with the credit card industry.

My husband went over his credit limit and was charged $39 over the limit fee no problem. His monthly payment is $12 and we paid $100 dollars on the due date and he still got another over the limit fee. When questioning Juniper, I was told because he didn't get the account under the credit limit within 20 days was why he received the second fee of $39. I figured since he was already charged one fee, we would wait and just pay the payment on the due date and it would be okay. Wrong! Now because of the over limit fee the account is over the limit 19 cents ain't that a blip. This is crazy! I need some advice.
Scam company
This is a very shady company!
They keep billing me over the limit fees. I called to find out the amount I needed to pay and when to get under the limit. I did as they said and they slapped another over the limit fee on me. I had to call the company 5 times in one day and still do not have the issue resolved.
I have filed a complaint with the BBB and am posting as many complaints on the internet that I can. I am also sending a complaint to corporate(like that will make a difference).
DO NOT deal with this company!
I have cut up my card and cancelled my account.

We got a letter saying they denied my husband's credit card application. He did NOT apply and we think someone is using his name. I can find no way to contact this company in Deleware except by writing to them which would take forever. No email address except one you have to log into, no phone number. Should we call the police or what? js

Bad business practices, and customer service. They will get you to sign on with a nice low interest rate, but they are NOT a good company to use. Go with Capital One... They state everything up front, and do not charge you crazy fees, or jack up your interest rate for late payments, or going over your limit.
DO NOT GET THIS CARD! Plese, they WILL rip you off in any way the can, after 3 years off HELL I closed my account, within 4 days they uped my intresed from 12.9% to 27.9!
STAY AWAY...IT'S ALL BAD WITH THIS CARD!
