Unsolicited Mail asking for &Donations&
It appears that Ms. Duval is on the move. I have received (my second) letter from Ms. Duval requesting a "donation" be sent within 29 days as I could come into $28, 778.00! This letter is 9 pages, and perportedly written on "Hotel del Mar Boutique Hotel & Spa" South Beach, Florida letterhead. The return address for the self-addressed envelope is Maria Duval 3105 N. Ashland Avenue #398, Chicago, Illinois 60657.
Is there anything that can be done to stop this woman from these unrequested solicitations? I have received letters from her in the past, all with different addresses for the letter, and all requesting "donations." It appears that she is phishing and when successful, her "donations" increase.
I would like to have her mail stopped and however she is obtaining my address blocked.
I appreciate your help and/or suggestions as to what can be done. Should you need to reach me, my e-mail address is [protected]@yahoo.com. I live in Ossineke, Michigan have received mail from her at my homes in Nevada, Arizona and now Michigan.
Thank you for your help.

Bugging aged parent
My 87 year old father has been inundated with, at minimum, weekly offers from this so-called psychic reader. I don't know how much money he sent her in the past, but in January 2011 I started dating when he receives the letters and 'lucky charms' she and her cohorts send. Despite writing to her at her Nevada address on 4/19/11 that he no longer wanted any correspondence from her, the solicitations kept coming. I filed a complaint with the US Postal Inspectors on 5/3/11, the volume of letters has diminished but they still keep coming. With all the complaints and investigations done on her and her cohorts in other countries, and I'm sure there've been more than enough complaints about her throughout the United States, why is she allowed to continue to prey on the elderly, and when will they be shut down for once and for all (not to mention I want these idiotic offers to stop coming!)?

I returned the item in a timely...

My 82 year old Father was a victim as well got him for 180.00 someone needs to do something. it is very disheartning that these people prey on the elderly i am going to call my district attorneys office and put in a complaint. something needs to be done to these people what they are doing is criminal if someones goes into a bank and robs then they go to jail that is what needs to be done to these people they are stealing from old innocent people. for those who feel they should know a con when they see one i hope when you are old and someone tells you something that is too good to be true you will not fall for it
Unbelievable how many people fall for this crap! Geez!
These rip off people are calling and saying they can reduse your current magazine subscriptions amounts because most people have subscrptions so you assume they are who you contract with. But you are not contracted with them for your current magazines. The reduction sounds inticing because everyone is looking for a saving. But if you take the time to look at the amounts they are quoting is crazy.
They say they can reduce your $500 (really, who would order that many magazines) to $99 (I don't read that many). In my case they got ahold of my 80 year old husband who thought he was doing me a favor, but has created a disater. They were able to get him to agree and got our bank information. Fortunately, I saw the amount pending on my account that say day and called my bank. My bank even recognized them as fraud. The funds did not pay, so they have sent a collection notice and are having people call. The collection agency said that once my husband agreed it is binding. Well, I disagree since they obtained the information under false pretense. These people need to be stopped.
Keep your money, scam
Total scam. I bit. I was (am) desperate for help. I won't say my age or the amount spent. Play the lottery, your odds are better.
Her written guarantees are worthless. All lies!
4 letters from me and 2 letters from BBB and no responses, and no refunds.
All have been ignored.
Her "toys" that she sends, do nothing to help you. Her pages of documents she sends are for you to "self help."
To me, she comes accross as a "self help guru."
The only satisfaction I have in this, is that the money I won on the lottery before her contact paid for my entertainment on this subject.
If you read the fine print, it states that it is an entertainment solicitation.
Its buyer beware.
Keep your money.
Rip off
Maria Duval is a scam artist. Address most recently that we have received mail from are: 14-3650 Langstaff Rd, #100, Woodbridge, Ontario,
L4L 9A8 as well as 1285 Boring Blvd., #403, Sparks, NV [protected].
My husband has lost money to this scam & she must be stopped! Her mailings come usually once a week which is very annoying & don't seem to find any way of stopping them. From whatI see, once mailings answered with money. you are a sucker. Guess because she is a scam, I have not found a site on the computer to discontinue such mailings.

I was a victim of this vicious Maria Duval/Destiny Research Center also, as my husband and I are going through a Financial Hardship. I believe in astrology and then I got all of these letters, ring of re, talismans, books and from her friend Patrick Guerin/akaDestiny Research Center. I sent money too, like a desperate fool, but no more. I am notifying my bank if any check comes through for Destiny Research, stop payment, fraud. I would also like to get my money back as it is over $200.00 and I am very sick about it. We are in such bad shape, we are behind in our mortgage, we can't buy our medicine and groceries. What these scam artists don't realize is that if you are that evil to people in such bad financial situations that believe in luck and miracles and astrology that this will go back on them in spades. What goes around comes around. Don't think for one minute, all of the money and people you scammed that you are going to get away with it. I don't think so, the demons will come after you in spades, you do evil, it will come back and haunt you triple. I will never be taken again. I was desperate to believe, I know some people will probably not understand this, but I thought maybe something would come true. In the back of my mind, I thought, God forgive me if I have been scammed. Please forward this to the proper authorities, FBI CIA Attorney Generals Office.
I don't care if I get mail from her, it is costing her, I would never give money to answer her correspondence. I just read them and leave them. I have been receiving mail from her since 2009 and I have never sent her any money. So the choice is yours, not hers, if you send money, it is your responsibility, don't blame anyone, unless you are sure that she is genuine. Your complaints only started through your naivety.
Bugging me
I was silly enough to fall for this scam 6 months ago. Once i realised it was a scam i threw the info i recieved away believing that would be the end of the matter. I was wrong. since then I have recieved at least, a letter a week, i have returned all to sender and yet they still arrive. I am now throughly pissed off and whish to warn others about this scam. if caught in this trap Do Not Send Money! No Matter What. Return all letters to sender (my letters come from Singapore!)and if you can find the website and remove your details!

I'm in the same situation. I agree that once you start sending money that take you for a sucker and is constantly bothering you over and over and over and over and over and over again and it is never ending. I stopped many years back and I have recently started getting junk mail from her and her cohorts again and I am totally fed up with it. Wish someone could stop her and her cohorts. I just will continue to throw out her junk mail until someone can stop her. poohb358
Same with me-received tonns of letters since 2005 (maybe even earlier)-returned to the sender, paid once-never got my money back. Letters disappeared for awhile, then i moved-letters come to my new address! They come every week-i simply destroy them and just sent a letter recommended by Wndsor Police (Ontario, Canada) stating that i won't press charges against Destiny Reasearch Centre (a.k.a.Maria Duval)if i get my refund.
There are new people mailing from the same address-astrologers, etc, plus i received letters in the past from about 10 different "psychics" which proves that my name is circulated near and far (New Zealand, Australia, Spain, US).
I feel bad for you and hoping that letters will stop some day.

I am completely pissed off because I was scammed out of $25 too! She sent me these rings that first of all fell apart and then lost their color and made my fingers itchy! What a huge scam and I'm pissed at myself for falling for such a trick.
What can be done about this type of scams that obviously take advantage of people who are struggling and put their faith in false hope. Isn't it against the law for companies to give out one's address, i.e., other subscriptions to magazines? How else does she get hold of one's address?
