Masters Hardware Toowoomba Breach of trade practices act and consumer code

Purchased 2 items from Masters Toowoomba. Both items were made by Trimmers Plus and were attachments that claimed compatibility with most major brands of whipper snippets. One of the boxes listed the Husqvarna brand which falsely gave me confidence that it would work with my machine. A few days later I tried to attach them and found they were both incompatible. I bought them items after being deceived by the packaging. which made false and misleadingly inferrances in breach of the Trade Practices Act and the Consumer Code. Store manager Bob at Toowoomba was not willing to provide a refund because in his words "the items are not broken or faulty" ... even though they've could not be used with a product they claimed compatibility with. Isaac at head office was equally unhelpful ... Woolworths might think they are being clever exiting Masters but the hasty exit at the cost of customer good will risks damaging customer relationships. I will never do business with them again ... good bye woollies, good bye Dans good bye Caltex ... I feel ripped off and I am extremely unhappy and spend lots.

Masters Hardware Toowoomba Very poor customer service

I have been a customer of Masters since you opened, however yesterday I visited Masters in Toowoomba and to my horror I had the worse customer service experience I have ever, ever had(and I am 50). I went to the shop the day before and I went to purchase some rope lights and it went through the check out only to find that the check girl had charged me $40 instead of $20 but the transaction was finished.

I tried to bring this up with the check out girl but she was on to the next customer and there was a million people there so I decided to deal with it tomorrow. I returned to the store the next day. I explain this to Emma (who was very helpful, she explain the policy but under the circumstances she understood it was a mistake of the product being on the wrong shelf.

Emma told us we could continue to shop and she would deduct the amount from our shopping, everyone was happy. Nearly a $1000 of shopping later we approach the desk to talk to Emma only to find that she had gone home and the next lady was rude, very rude. She stated she was the desk manger, she had blonde hair and very immature.

She would not listen to our story she did not care about the agreement we made with Emma even though she spoke to Emma and confirmed the statement. She continued to belittle us and became very unhelpful. At this point I notice that another customer was allowed to swap her purchase and I asked why we were not given this option. Then I continued to talk to the lady next to me only to have some young girl behind the counter told me to mind my own business as I have nothing to do with this ladies purchase.

I asked this very young person who she thought she was, as I had a right to talk to this lady if I wanted to. Suddenly she ran off crying, the lady and I looked as each other what was that about. We were left at the counter with no service for 30 minutes while there cuddled and told the girl we shouldn't of abused her.

I stated we did nothing to this girl and the blonde girl became very abusive and rude and refused to serve me and past me off to a young bloke, I said to him what is going on and the young bloke simply said I try to stay out of the drama over there (meaning the service desk).

Even though the young man was now serving us the blonde was still abusing us and being very rude, which I told her she will not get another job with that very rude attitude and suddenly some little man was yelling at me and threatening to throw me out of the store. I tried to tell him about his very rude staff and he did not care to listen or hear how rude his staff was, I asked him why is it ok for his staff to act like this and he became abusive with me, that his staff gets yelled at all day. Well that is not my fault, if they weren't so rude they wouldn't get abused (but I hadn't abused anyone, believe me they would know if I abused them). He them demanded that I shutup, really shutup. I was so upset I left the store with the plan never to return to Masters or Woolworths Store again Ever and I will make sure none of my large family will never deal with this business again.

I understand that Masters is closing but that is no excuse for treating the customers so rude and so DIRESPECTFUL, I hope these three people never find employment again in the public area as they have no idea how to manage the public at all. I do hope that these staff members are spoken to about how to deal with the public better in the future or better still please take them away from the public, for the public do not deserve these three people near them.

Masters seriously drop the ball putting these people in charge no wonder the business failed with these people at your service desk.
