nissan titan xd
Hello, My name is Kristie Istead, I purchased a brand new 2016 Nissan Titan Xd on Mother's Day of 2017. This was my dream truck that took me 10 years to get, and honestly I've never been let down my a company so much. In the year and half that I've owned it it's now been into the shop over 22 times and goes in again this Wednesday to have another set of...
Read full review of Nissan Canada Inc.Reimbursed for repaired even though a Recall Letter is issued for same!!
Received a Recall Letter (2015) for a steering column issue. Did the same repair in 2014. Found out the steering column assembly had an extended warranty (same part#). Was told it was a different part# by dealer originally even though I showed him a NICO Forum blog showing details. Been trying ever since to get reimbursed. It's a large $$ amount. Am ignored by Nissan Canada even though they promised to send a letter & e-mail with an explanation. We've bought 4 Infiniti's in the past. Great car. Lousy customer experience when an issue arises. At least North American cars have a Customer Arbitration process. The folks at Nissan Canada don't even come to meet you when you go to their offices in Mississauga. They hide behind e-mail addresses & 1-800#s. My 2 cents, skip Infiniti's not worth the aggravation.
2009 Nissan Altima Electronic Steering Column lock
I purchased a 2009 Nissan Altima from the Rendez Vous Nissan dealer in Hawkesbury, Ontario in 2010.
In 2013 I received a notice from Nissan stating that if there were issues that they would extend the warranty for a period of six years due to a manufacturing irregularity that has since been corrected. The ESCL may malfunction.
On Friday, September 18, 2015 on my return home and shutting my car off. The car would not restart. I remembered receiving the warranty extension and had to have the vehicle towed on Monday morning at a cost of 70$. The car dealership called me at 4:00 pm on Monday afternoon to advise that the "warranty" ran out in January and they would not cover it, a cost of $700 + to have it repaired.
I contacted the Nissan Customer Service company Tuesday morning and was advised that they would not "extend" an extended warranty.
I have no vehicle at this point in time. The car is at the dealership with the steering column torn out of it. The dealership service center has advised that it is a defective piece.
Nissan had to extend their warranty due to the irregularity and I believe that they should go good for the cost of the repair. This vehicle is our only reliable vehicle at this time and I am absolutely livid that they will not correct their mistake that they have "since corrected".
This has been an ongoing (an online search shows) and they weaseled their way out of it by doing an extended warranty but not a proper recall.
I want them to fix the ESCL and pay for the repair.
It is very clear from the letter that you posted that the warranty item was for 6 years ONLY... That means that the warranty would be 6 years from the date of manufacture. If the 6 years is up then you must pay for the repair. If you disagreed with that then the time to complain would have been in 2013 when you got the letter.
