Condition of Apartment
Ontario Travel Suites advertises themselves as "Luxury Furnished Executive Suites". We were told that we could not move in until after 7:00 pm because the unit we paid for was being cleaned. Attached are photos of the unit taken when we moved in. Decide for yourself if our unit was luxurious or clean.
LMS Realty Ltd. and Ontario Travel Suites still have not returned our $750 deposit from our month rental, June 1, 2013 to July 1, 2013. They will not respond to emails or phone calls. Comments on an earlier complaint list two other individuals who have also had their deposits withheld. So, we are not the only victims.
Both LMS Realty and Ontario Travel Suites have unlisted business addresses; therefore, Small Claims Court Plaintiff Claims can not be served against them. Plaintiffs have no recourse to resolve the issue of the failure to return the deposit.

Failure to return deposit
We moved out of the apartment on July 1st and were entitled to receive our deposit back within 30 days. It is now October and we have received no cheque. Jim Osborne and Ontario Travel Suites have ignored our request for the return of the money due us. Jim Osborne and Ontario Travel Suites do not return phone calls or answer our emails. Has anyone else had this problem.

I have had a same problem; how to do I get my money back or complain about their mal-buiness-practice? I have no idea. Can anyone suggest?
We rented an apartment back in July/Aug 2013 while we were in Ontario for business. We have tried to call from different numbers to reach Jim and no luck. They owe us a $1000 deposit. How are these thieves still operating?
The same has happened to me...they stopped taking my calls. Today I tried calling from another number and they took my call...and have promised a cheque...I wonder. How many times can they do this before it is investigated as a fraud.
I got a reply from antifraud centre, apparently, they collect complaints from people and investigation occurs only when there are sufficient evidences(large number of victims). So please report to anti-fraud centre if your deposit have been stolen. I also spoke with burlington police, as their property is based in burlington. Police said he cant get involved because this is bad business but not criminal. They didn't physically stolen our money and we gave them deposit. It appears to me that travelsuites know how to get by canadian law so they advertise a property then, steal deposits from people. I really want to stop them. Anyone has any ideas?
We booked travelsuites in october and was supposed to move in on Dec 13. We cancelled our booking within 1 week and formally requested our deposit back. A guy called Frank kept sayiing he will have to wait till december to return our deposit and asked me to call back. After that he doesn't pick up the phone, never answers email except when we made a deposit he sent a confirmation letter and that's it. I have reported these people at anti-fraud centre.
Yes, same issue happening to me - moved out August 31st and haven't received deposit back. Jim not returning emails nor phone calls. Don't rent from this company!

We rented 1356 Charles Drive in Burlington. We were not told it was a sublease and lucky for us, we met the ACTUAL owners of the building when the top apartment had a leak into our apartment. We found out that Travel Suites had not paid their rent, but that their lease was going to end PRIOR to the lease we had with Travel Suites, leaving us with a furnished apartment, with out furniture (owned by Travel Suites). Luckily we terminated our lease and used our deposit of $750 towards rent and got out, but are still awaiting our receipt for the over $5400 we paid for the months we did occupy the apartment. Not only will they not respond to our emails, we know they received them as we notified them of mail we received and they did remove it from our mailbox. One of the bills was the utility bill, addressed to L.M.S. realty. We received it in October, and wouldn't you know it, but the last 10 days of our lease, we had no electricity or heat. Luckily we were out by then, but the owners verified this. Real nice during the Christmas holidays! These people are deplorable. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN. Do not follow the law and should have their licences to operate revoked!
