Install New Service
I recently purchased a new property. I tried to get new gas service installed. I was referred to Revenue Assurance. After 2 days of calls and long holds I haven't been able to get service.
Yesterday and part of the morning, I would simply get a message that there are no reps and to call back at some other time.
It took over an hour worth of tries and I finally got a message saying I'd be transferred to someone. Since then, I've been on hold waiting for someone from Revenue Assurance to talk so I can resolve the issue for more than 1 hour and 40 minutes.
The house can't be lived in because I can't get heat going.
Desired outcome: I'd appreciate it if someone can reach out to me so I can resolve whatever the problem is that's preventing me from getting gas.

Read full review of Peoples GasOvercharge
I just moved out to another apartment on 06/01 and I transferred the service with me the same day Peoplegas charged me the same amount that usually I pay monthly for 13 days and they overcharge 3times again and now my bill is $ 92.52. I spoke with customer services and they said that my bills will fix it and nothing. This is crazy! How am I going to pay $ 92.52 for 13 days/services? Please if somebody can help me to finally fix this issue.
Thank you
Peoples should be sanctioned for such practices.
Sir/Madam: I received a Notice from Peoples Gas that it was enrolling me "free" in their "Gas In-House Line Protection Program" which has a regular cost of $2.95 per month and that "No action is needed to continue enrollment." This is thievery! I did not request this service and do not wish to "continue enrollment." I sent them a letter informing them as much. Thank you. Jeff Balicki
Read full review of Peoples GasThe gas company has been ripping the consumers off for years
On Friday 11/5 i called the gas company to make payment arrangements. I spoke to an agent, not the automate system, and told her that I could pay the entire bill on Friday, 11/13; she stated that it was not acceptable and that I needed to pay $73.00 plust $3.95 service fee immediately, which I did by Visa. She further stated that I could pay $55.00 a month in addition to my regualr bill and this would satisfy the past due amount; I agreed.
I came home from work yesterday, Monday 11/8 and found that my gas service had been shut off. When I call the gas company the agent Chela stated that I was shut off because my bill had not been paid, after lengthy discussion she saw the $47.95 payment, but insisted that I had made it through the automated system, which I did not. She said that I had not notified them that the bill had been paid, yet the amount was taken from the Chase account. This is the second time within the last month that the gas company ha turned by service off and stated that I had had used the automated system and have to wait a week before the service can be restored.
I assure you that on 11/5 I spoke with an agent, how else would I know of the arrangements to pay $55.00 per month. Chela also stated that I needed to pay the full amount of the bill and an additional $3.95 which totaled $203.64 in order to restore service, which I did by Visa. After accepting this payment, she stated that service would not be restored until Monday, 11/15 between the hours of 11:30 and 4:30 and further stated that I would be required to pay and additional security deposit of $46.00 per month and the the previous $46.00 paid on 10/26 by check #1005 through Chase was lost to me. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she advised me that none was available and that I would be placed on a call back list and could perhaps receive a call within 24 to 48 hours. My bill and security deposit were paid in a timely fashion, as requested, and because of a careless, negligent employee, I am without gas service for a week and am forced to forfeit my previously paid security deposit. The gas company has been ripping the consumers off for years. I have copies of my bank statement available upon request.
We had been contacting peoples gas since oct. 15, 2013., until now they did not start our gas yet. I called them almost everyday to start our gas because i have two kids 5 and 6 years old and it is cold in the basement.but you know what they were giving us a hardtime.
Unknown to me one of the tenants did not get gas in there name and Peoples Gas opened in my name
I moved from my home at 4247 W Melrose, Chicago in 1998. I still owned the 2 flat. I rented it out. Unknown to me one of the tenants did not get gas in there name and Peoples Gas opened in my name. The people must have payed until the last bill and then did not pay the final $52 dollars. They later transferred it to my account (I am ok with that) and then placed a "Collection" on my credit.
Had I of known they did this of course I would have payed. They marked my credit bad and then still had me pay.
I even called Peoples Gas in 1998 to state I am moving, How can THEY open the account on there own years later and then ruin my credit?
