Dumping Calls onto our landline bill
Power Net Global, part of AmeriCOM Communications, has been our long distance carrier for nearly 10 years. For the past several months, Power Net Global (PNG) has been dumping charges for calls to out of state numbers, onto our land line phone bill. When notified that we are not making these calls, we are told that the calls originate from our land line and that our provider (Frontier) forwards the calls to PNG, who leases the lines from Frontier, so we need to contact Frontier regarding calls that are forwarded to PNG. We called Frontier, and were told that, "yes, we do forward the calls to PNG but we cannot determine why the calls are coming from your land line. Both PNG and Frontier called the numbers in question and asked if they knew "us" and were told, "no, we have never heard of them." After being told there was nothing they could do and that they could not credit us fro the unwarranted call charges, a Frontier technician showed up and said that sometimes more than one home is put on a "line pair" by accident. He then went to the main junction box that services the entire region and switched our line to a known unused connection. The very next month, we have even more of the calls to the same Alaskan phone number, and new ones to yet another Alaskan number! Both numbers have the same area code (907) and the same identical last four numbers... and the prefix number for both numbers are identical except for the first digit! And we are expected to pay for some other persons calls while neither PNG or Frontier will address the cause. Bottom line: PNG and/or Frontier are practicing "Call Dumping" where they dump unpaid calls from other users, onto unsuspecting customers in hopes of getting paid in the long run. When caught, both deny it is happening and refuse to credit the calls. Total Rip Off Scam!

overcharging
WATCH OUT! these people are liars, scoundrals and sneak theives. I had no problem with the service for several months. I then checked my March billing and found a rate increase. Very small print buried in the minutia. I called to get current rate quote. I was quoted a low rate and when I questioned why my rate was 60% higher I was told it was to intice new customers. Beware...they will quote low rates to get your business then raise the rate once you have been there for a few months. Pass these guys by. THere are better companies out there to deal with.

billing for no reason, hard to get thru to Cust Svc
I initiated a calling card and a temporary cell phone for my daughter traveling in Israel for one month. The phone number they sent me what not the phone number that went to my daughters phone and they did not figure out the problem for a week. Charges were more than expected and the bills was too confusing to understand. They kept billing on the calling card to keep the account open after I asked for it to be closed. It is impossible to get them on the phone in a reasonable amount of time. All in all I spent so much time on the phone trying to get things resolved.
I would not use them again. They advertise a phone for a temporary purpose then make it impossible to end the account.

I have stopped my service in April. They are still charging my cr. card in October. 3 calls later with very long wait times, they are still charging. Rip off
I do have to say, to this. Please, PLEASE read your agreements with Israel Phone. It will tell you how to cancel your calling card through PowerNet Global. In that letter, there'll be a password as well. You'll need that to cancel the account. It helps to say your son or daughter is under 18 as well. Then they'll just close out the account as they can't really bill a minor. Trust me, this works. If you're uncomfortable with lying, just call in with the password and ask to have it closed. If you're polite, you'll generally get credit for at least the final bill. Depending on who you get when you call, you may get even more credit. Generally speaking, the farthest back a customer service rep can go is 3 months.
Rip off! I've used their long distance services for years, but there was some company change over a year ago and since then the rates have gone up without notice. My local phone company now has better rates than this company. Recently the intrastate rates were raised to 25 cents a minute. WITHOUT NOTICE. Since I call in state more than out, and receiving an unexpected high bill, I changed quickly at the phone company, but I still got a bill later for basic service and taxes even though I'm not using them anymore, because I failed to call Powernet Global to cancel the service. Customer service was cold and rude, but not unexpected considering they likely have to deal with other dissatisfied customers. I'll happily pay the phone company rates to be free of this company.
This company is completely unprofessional. Their charges are unwarranted for services I did not receive for the four days that I installed the Voip box. Calls were dropped and I discontinued service. They continue to charge activation and shipping fees.
DO NOT USE POWER NET GLOBAL>>>>>
I have had great difficulty getting in touch with them to end my cell phone coverage. I kept getting threatening calls/letters from their billing system, yet when I called in and actually got someone (after waiting for a half hour), I was told there was nothing wrong with my account. I cancelled in January, got a bill for February, just spent 10 minutes on the phone with someone telling me (once again) I had a zero balance. Sheesh!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
