Seattle Coffee Direct NON REFUND OF MONEY

January 27, 2010

Hello: My name is Brenda and I didn't order 6 pounds of Coffee from Seattle Coffee Direct They charged my checking account Debit
in the anount of $116.85 and they keep telling me they will put the refund back into my Bank for the last 5 months. I have talked
to approximately 36 people who all tell me the same thing. Wait 72 hours and your Money will be put back into your account.
To date, they have not put any money back or even returned anymore of my phone calls. I don't have this product but they billed
my Bank Account 3 days in a rowe back in July 2009. All I have been asking them to do is put my money back into my account
and all will be done and over. I cannot believe a Company can take money from your account wihtout your authorization which
they never had. Please get my money back into my Account. I am on Disability and I don't have much money as it is.

Thank you,

Brenda Neumann Email address: [protected]@yahoo.com

Seattle Coffee Direct Fraud

Basically FRAUD and illegal charging on my credit card.
I thought their service sounded like a convenient idea, but that's when the over charging, etc. began. Who pays $79 for a small bag of coffee and a crappy travel mug? Then another, and another, and another in the course of a week! Certainly not me. I contacted my card and disputed all these charges and returned the items. All had been fine until recently. I hadn't had a run in with this company for over 14 months, and now all of a sudden I have 2 packages on my doorstep. Realistically, the only way to stop them is to cancel your credit card and I'm just about to do that.

I plan on contacting the Better Business Bureau and the Evanston district attorney to find out if there's anything else that can be done. Sure, I might spend a lot of time, but now it's become personal.

These guys seems to go with either Seattle Coffee Direct OR Cafe Saporito

I have been charged unreasonable amounts for unsolicited product. Seattle Coffee Direct did not even fulfill its promotional promise of two bags and a grinder but have charged me for it anyway. I signed up for the $9.00 promotion of two bags and a grinder and was charged $38.95. I never received the complete promotion. Since then the company has charged me twice for $38.95.

That's a total of $16.85. I am thoroughly disgusted by their unethical practices. I have returned the product and requested a refund. If I do not receive satisfaction, I plan to file complaints with the local authorities, US Postal Service, the FBI and IRS.

Ordered in good faith a 2lbs. for five dollars sampler and was charged a total of 140.00 for a daily delivery of 2 pounds of coffee. Sent them back with the driver the next day and called to cancel this mess. I was told to expect my money in 30-60 days, however, they have another scam here; by the time you are expecting your funds, they say it is too late, the return policy has expired. Out of $ 140.00 for some coffee. Unbelievable
Surely there is someone here that knows a good lawyer?

The same thing happen to me-four months AFTER I cancelled the ONE TIME sample package that I got, that cam with a membership and more charges I did not ask for! I have returned the three shipments but have not had my $79 x 3 charges they made. I did cancel my card, and am working with the bank to get my money back. The phone number they give is useless because they dont answer it and dont return the call. They need to be stopped!

We ordered the $25 promotional offer 2 bags cofee 2 cups and a travel mug get this ...last year, November 2008. We did recieve our cofee at that time and we were not overcharged, but the cofee was not very good so we canceled any further shipments. Then we were looking at our bank statement online last week and low and behold this company charged us $79.00. For what? we have recieved nothing in the mail and no e-mail confirmation of any such order. Guess they held on to our credit card # for a year and thought we wouldn't notice. Saturday we called and got a Vm and left a message now all curciuts are busy and if you do get thru you get VM again but the mail box is full! Had to cancel our credit card and get reissued another to prevent this from happening again. Have reported this co to BBB and our bank for fraud.

Seattle Coffee Direct fraudulent charges

As part of another offer I signed up with Urban Tea Direct to recieve a special "free" offer. A special for 4 bags of tea and a pair of mugs and a tea leaf steeper. It was a "free' offer with $39.76 shipping and handling charge. OK no problem, it was worth the shipping for the 4 bags of tea which I hoped was extrodinary. I was supposed to receive a new shipment once a month.

I received my first shipment 10/06/09 and the second on 10/22/09. Ok, a little faster than anticpated but still OK if they wait another month.

There were charges on my debit account for $39.76 on 10/6 and 10/09. Strange they would be so close together but I did receive the products. Here is the kicker>

Alos on my account there are 2 charges to Seattle Coffee Direct for $79.00 on 10/20 and 10/28. I called the company informing them I never signed up for coffee or received any products and there must be an error. i am dumb founded with the answer. They asked if I ordered tea and I said yes, but it was from a different company. It was expalined that it was the "sister" company and that Seattle Coffee also chrages for the tea. Now this makes no sense to me and asked further questions. The answer was that the website said there could be price increases. Totally understandable- everything goes up. But not triple in 2 weeks!

They are double dipping the customer and have no regrets. There was no offer to correct the 2 $79 charges. I am returning the entire shipments (never opened any tea pouches) and expect of full refund of all charges from both companies.

I would like to warn the public that this company is fraudulent. A customer purchses what a contract says. I agreed to shipments for $39.76 and and then am charged additionally double the amount by anther company.

$240 for 8 bags of tea? Not in my house!

Took advantage of offer for grinder and 2 lbs of coffee for $9.99; have since been charged $38.95 three times since july 07 and $34 once, with only one credit of $38.95. they sent offered products which i accepted, then 2 other DHL deliveries which I "returned to sender". They owe me $101.91. thanks for your help., MAM

Followed a link off of the 'Tagged' web site's Mafia Wars game, Offered 2 packets of coffee 2 mugs and a travel mug for $5.00. filled out the form seeing nothing about any further costs or charges. checked account the next day and found a charge for $25.00, I thought, OK maybe $5.00 per item and I missed something. 2 days later a charge for $38.95, 2 days more and there was another charge for $38.95. Needless to say I was bit confused and as it was after closing on Friday could do nothing till this morning. Looked at account again this morning and SCD has ANOTHER charge on my account. Have sense called the bank and locked out that card. Tried looking for contact info on the SCD web site and they only list a phone number that is not answered on weekends. Filed complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the State of Illinois Department of Consumer affairs. Bunch of Thieves.

If you signed up for a trial with Seattle Coffee Direct or World Tea Express and got scammed like myself and hundreds of others, READ THIS! I urge everyone to file Mail Fraud Charges against this company. It's simple to do and if everyone who's been ripped off by this company (myself included) files the Postal Service will be forced to close them down. It’s a very serious charge and they have to undergo and audit of their activities if you file. Here is what you do; Go to this link: https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx
it will provide you with a form to fill out. I choose 'misrepresentation of product/service' on the pull down menu. Make sure you have the company information prior to this. You need the company name and addy to file the complaint; Seattle Coffee Direct 990 Grove Street Suite 204 Evanston, IL 60201 Phone #: [protected]. After reading all the complaints I’m appalled. Don’t let them get away with this.

I too had two fraudulent charges on my account for $79 each. One is from Publicationsmax.com and one is from Seattle Coffee direct. They are sister companies. I ordered coffee over a year ago and closed my account. They seem to have retained my number and are fraudulently charging me for magazines and coffee that I did not order.

Thanks for posting the mail fraud complaint site. I filed a complaint as soon as I read this and I encourage others to do the same. I was promised 5 items for $25 (Two bags of coffee, two travel mugs, and on ceramic mug). I received all but the ceramic mug and I had four charges to my card from this company totaling over $40. I called the company and was told I'd receive the mug and my funds would be refunded. I've gotten NOTHING nor have I heard from this company since! What a joke!

Seattle Coffee Direct Charges and refunds

I fell for the $2.00 gimic of 2 packages of coffee and 2 travel mugs. The day received the package, I called to cancel . within 2 days, there were 2 seperate deductions from my account for the amount of $39.70. I sent both packages back with return to sender on packages and then waited about 2 weeks to call again. They told me it takes 3-5 weeks for the packages to come back to the "office " so they can reimburse customers. But they will not tell you when the packages were scanned for shipment. That way they can keep changing when the 30 day billing cycles begins and ends

Seattle Coffee Direct Refund Not sent to me

I ordered the special of 2 lbs of coffee for 5.99. Every few days my debit card was charged 38.99 and I was covered over with coffee. I called immediately and stopped this mess. Told them I was sending the coffee back immediately and I did. That was in June of 2009. Seven phone calls later and I have only received a refund of 38.99 and that was just last week. I am furious and just made my 8th phone call telling them I was contacting my local TV stations and Georgia Watch ( A consumer Advocacy Group in Atlanta). They promised someone would get in touch with me and as that is a promise I have had before, I do not believe them. I will never do business with this group again.

Waiting for my refund of $79.40 (39.70x2). Called them and no answer, just a voice mail. Sure wish someone had warned me prior to my ordering :-( Maybe if we email this to everyone we know and each person call their local news station we can stop these folks.

Seattle Coffee Direct Unauthorized Debits

My husband is 72. He rec'd an email offering 2 pounds of coffee & 2 mugs for $2. That was last week. Within 7 days he has been billed over $119! Don't go near this company with a 10 foot pole! Our bank says we must contact the company and speak to someone before they will take any action. Have yet to contact a live person, but I'll keep trying! Check out the Better Business Bureau for a list of all their other shell company names! File a BBB complaint then call or write the Illinois State Attorney General as well as your own. I will hound these people until they refund the money they stole from us. Wish I lived near Evanston!

Seattle Coffee Direct MAJOR SCAM!

I ordered a special $4.95 offer from this company offerring 2 bags of coffee, 2 mugs and 2 tumblers. Little did I know, they charged $5 for EACH thing, not for them all together. So, instead of being charged $5, I was charged $25. Then on top of that, I was also charged $38.95 for some subscription or something. I sent 2 packages back I received and cancelled my "Membership" as they call it. I called 5 times and the first 4 I was told they just hadn't received my packages. When they did receive my packages, I would be refunded. EVERYTIME I was told I would be refunded. The 5th time I called, the lady explained to me that this is a subscription service and I should have read the terms and conditions more closely. They do not offer refunds, just store credits. I tried arguing that I was told 4 times I would get my money back, but she stood firm that I only get store credit. This company is a major scam and should be put out of business for fraud!

Let me caution you that this company "Seattle Direct" is in fact an Illinois company and they have many different names they use -- World Bean Cafe, Direct Coffee -- all scams. They get you in and have your account number, then make the "random" charges. My advice is cancel the card you used to begin with. These people are unscrupulous and it's about 4 people involved. They switch out names - Dometrias also goes by Williams, Beverly has other name, and there is a Nina -- File a complaint with the Illinois attorney general. These people have to be stopped! They have taken my husband for $160 in about 2 months.

Seattle Coffee Direct Overpriced / Unwanted Shipments

I wish I would have read these complaints before trying the offer from Seattle Coffee Direct. During a survey I was offered two 12-ounce bags of coffee, two coffee mugs and two travel mugs for $5. However, with shipping the total was closer to $25. To make matters worse, automatic shipments started every two weeks with billing almost immediately. The auto-shipments were for two 12-ounce bags of coffee and with shipping totalled $35. That's $1.46 an ounce! In retrospect, you could buy directly from Starbucks and receive two 16-ounce bags (with shipping) for around $27, coming to $0.87 per ounce.

Do not buy this coffee! If you have, cancel immediately. Even then, watch your credit card because they will continue to ship/charge and you will have to eventually change your credti card number and dispute the charges. Too much headache for coffee that is mediocre at best and nearly double the cost of Starbucks.

Seattle Coffee Direct huge scam!!

This company has gone to such lengths to scam people that the name of the 'actual company' listed by the website is false. For anyone who has been scammed by Seattle Coffee Direct, their real phone number is:[protected]. I would suggest that everyone who reads this immediately call and cancel the "order" you didn't agree to and send a formal complaint not only to the BBB but also to the attorney general of Illinois. Its 100% free (unlike their crappy coffee) and hopefully if enough people do this, these people will be stopped permanantly! The "$ 5 no obligation" offer is so much crap that its not even funny, within 2 weeks of the initial order ( the $5 one that is ) i received more coffee than any human could drink and was charged every week for $39 every time!

I, too, got scammed for over $200 of unsolicited coffee. I only ordered the promotional "2 for 5". the next thing i discovered, my bank was being charged 38.95 per 2 bags and coming every other week? I was able to stop it after several weeks and only to be promised refund in 60 days after verifying returns? this was in early of last year. After numerous phones calls and emails, in October 09, again, I was promised refund in 60 days. nothing came. I emailed again in 2/28/10, so far no response and now all thelephone numbers are disconnected?

I think WE ALL NEED TO NOW REQUEST THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY TO GE INVOLVED TO STOP THIS SCAM ARTIST. I cant be imagine how the employees involved can sleep at night, let alone gobble food on their table knowing where it came from?

Dear Beth,

I apologize for any problems you may have encountered with our company, Seattle Coffee Direct. Seattle Coffee Direct, like many businesses, is owned by a larger parent company with a different name. The name on the web site, however, is correct for the monthly coffee service we provide. Dissatisfied customers are best served by calling customer service at 888-217-CAFE, where representatives are on hand to answer any questions, and modify or discontinue memberships. The 847 number you provided will most likely reach employees lacking these capabilities. If you have any further concerns, please call 888-217-CAFE. Seattle Coffee Direct Fraud - Credit Card

Charges from this company appeared on my credit card twice. I was not sure who they were and they were closed when I called the number on my statement so I googled them. It took me to 12 sites complaining about their horrible business practices. When I did reach them by phone they stated I ordered coffee? I said I did not order anything and they basically said too bad. Now I have to dispute the charges at my bank which is a pain. I found this site regarding complaints against them so I decided to add mine. Its hard to believe a company like this with all of these complaints since 2007 would still be in business. I am also going to file with the BBB.

After six unauthorized uses of my credit card in an 11-day time span, I called the company to put a stop to it. They assured me they would and that my money, over $200, would be refunded. That was June 29, 2009. By August 24th, 2009, the charges were still on my credit card. I called the company to put a stop to it. They assured me they would and that my money would be refunded. They cautioned me it might take one to two billing cycles to show up on my account. Now it may be too late to dispute these charges. I have canceled my credit card, notified my bank, called the authorities, and contacted the Chicago Better Business Bureau for help. Avoid Seatttle Coffee Direct/Ultimate Beans/Peel, Inc. at all costs and beware any involvement you have with them through xbox live.

I signed up for a promotion to recieve two free mugs, and two bags of coffee for $ 2.00. I recieved them only a couple of days after signing up via UPS the UPS guy said that a signature wasn't necessary and he just left it on the counter.
I recieved the box with no paper work included, except one guaranting the quality of their coffee, and if there were any problems to call the above number.
The next day after the initial $2.00 dollar charge hit my account I was charged $ 38.95 and then two more charges of $ 38.95 on the 11th.
My bank called me and told me about the charges and asked if I had authorized them...I said NO!
The charges have over drawn my account, and I'd like to know what they are charging me for ? I haven't ordered any more coffee, and if I were going too, it wouldn't be one day after I'd recieved two full bags.
I want my money back and to be reimbursed for the overdraft charges that I will no doubt be hit with because of their slimmy business practices.

I like so many others, filled out a survey and with the purchase of 2 bags of seattle best coffee, I would receive two coffee mugs and a thermos for $25.00. It came, and then immediately a second two bag shipment for the great price of $38.00, then a third and a forth, even after i called and cancelled. I never opened the last two, but wrote return to seattle Best. I have called several times about getting my refund to my credit card to the tune of $78.00, and they tell me they have the returns, but they have still failed to give me my credit. what rip off artists!

I originally ordered 2 lbs of coffee and two free mugs with mt purchase. I cancelled my subscription on August 2009. Since then I have been charged in just the month of November 2009, three seperate charges of $79.00 each and have not received any thing from them. Not only that I was charged by my bank another $30.00 for each transaction as I did not authorize these withdrawls and was chat=rged for insufficent funds. This is criminal, I have called several times, you get a voice message saying to leave your name and number and a representitive will call you back and no one calls. I have written Letters to the company and reported them to the Better Business Bureau and nothing. I intent to write the attorney General and hope to receive my money back with all the costs due to charges to my account. The only way our right now is to cancel my debit cards and receive a new one, which is an inconvience also. DON'T ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY! IT'S A SCAM AND A RIP OFF!

Like many of the other folks who posted complaints about this company, I too, fell victim to the Free Mug and Coffee offer. Was only supposed to be 9.00 (no additional charge for shipping). I now have had 3 shipments of coffee (2 bags each). The first two were 25.00 and 48.95, and I'm still waiting on the damage from the last shipment. Their website has no e-mail contact info and you can only speak to someone 10am-6pm EST Mon-Fri. Total Scam!

Seattle Coffee Direct will scam you out of lots of money! You think you're purchasing a couple of bags of coffee for $25.00 and the next thing you know, they're charging your credit card $38.95 EVERY WEEK! Who can drink that much coffee?

I ordered 2 bags of coffee for $25.00 (which is a ripoff in itself now that I think about it) and in 4 days, they've charged my credit card $155.80 and I've only received 2 bags of coffee!

STAY AWAY FROM SEATTLE COFFEE DIRECT! I have called them 3 or 4 times and have sent 3 emails and they continue to charge my account $38.95 every week. They say it's a weekly coffee club. WHO CAN DRINK THAT MUCH COFFEE? I LOVE COFFEE AND I CAN'T!

I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau and my bank is going to send me fraud papers and dispute forms.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SEATTLE COFFEE DIRECT! IT IS A SCAM!

I never ordered coffee from this company. I received a $79.00 debit on my checking account. I called the company explaining I did not order any coffee and refund my funds to my account. It was very difficult to contact these people. Finally I spoke to someone and explain the situation, that I never ordered the coffee.A few days later I receive 1 pound of coffee which I retuned we dont drink coffee. The agent I spoke to said a has been more then 60 days.refund would be issued in the amount of $79.00placed back into my account within 30-60 days. It has been more then 60 days. She also gave me a confirmation # of 374380. I just want my refund.

Yes I ordered the 25.00 purchase for just the coffee. They took out the 25.00, I didnt receive the coffee. I also had 38.95 taken out of my account for another order that I did not place. Im very upset and plan on doing whatever is necessary to get my money back. I dont appreciate them placing 2 orders out of my account.

They get you in and then they change all info and won't refund your money says it takes 30 days then you call back and they say it takes 60 days then you call back and it takes 2 more weeks they just mess with you hoping you'll forget about it. You're also supposed to be 100% satisfied but they do nothing to rectify it if you are not. This place needs to be put out of business. Don't get suckered in. Help put this place out of business. Seattle Coffee Direct Misrepresentation and illegal business practices!

We have also been suckered by Seattle Direct Coffee. The initial offer of $9 for two bags of coffee and a grinder is a complete misrepresentation. Nowhere in the ad is it stated that there is a $25 shipping and handling fee. Since March 23, our credit card has been charged once for $34 and three additional charges of $36.95--four months worth of coffee in 1 1/2 months. To date, two shipments of mediocre coffee have arrived. After reading the other postings, I was amazed to have a person from the company return my call. She has agreed to cancel the membership (believe it when I see it) and claims that we should be receiving an order shipped on April 17 soon. Of course, its the fault of USPS that we have not received the shipment, not their failure to ship it.

My credit card company says they cannot block charges from this company but since there have been at least three charges, they will cancel the card and reissue with a new number. We are also disputing the charges.

No where on there site do they list what the charges are and that you become a member of a coffee club. I too responded to a survey to received 2 travel mugs and 2 small samples of coffee. Within 2 weeks I have received 2 additional shipments of the same coffee (I haven't even opened the original to try) and my debit card has been charged $48. each time including the inital offer. I am contacting my bank first thing in the morning and since I work for an attorney... we'll see what happens.

I had never heard of Seattle Coffee Direct, never seen an ad for their company on the internet, in short, I have never in the past had any contact with this company in any way whatsoever. You can imagine my surprise and dismay when I checked my online bank statement today and discovered a 6/30/08 charge of $25.00 from this company. Their phone number was included on the information given in my bank statement, and I called it and spoke for a while to a gentleman named Mark. I asked him how it was possible for this charge to have occurred, as I've never ordered anything from them. He said that two bags of coffee and four mugs had been ordered, by engyprasory@comcast.net--a false email address--and addressed, strangely, to me.

Someone ordered coffee from Seattle Coffee Direct. They used my Bank Card number. And they were having it shipped to me? Who benefits from that? And why in the name of god would someone who had my bank card number order something--from a company apparently known far and wide as some kind of "fine print" scam--and have it shipped to ME?

I'm not suggesting that Seattle Coffee Direct was directly responsible for this grossly illegal transaction, but they do seem to be the only ones to benefit by it--except for my bank's Fraud department, who are going to have a hell of a good time fielding all the complaints they've been receiving regarding this particular company (including mine), and the future cell-mate of whoever actually made the purchase, who is getting desperately lonely

I received the initial order for two bags of Guatemalan and Costa Rican coffee beans in early January which was charged to my credit card on Jan.7. Despite my call to stop further shipments I received three more shipments every other week which were also charged to my credit card on Jan. 14, 21 and 28, respectively. After I send them back to get refunds promised, I've never received credit for refund on my credit card. This is a sheer fraudelent business act.

Yeah...I'm another sucker. I'm asking my bank not to honor future charges from Seattle Coffee Direct. The charges are unauthorized - as we all know - and their web site doesn't offer any way to stop the shipments or charges. In fact, the only changes you can make to your "account" are the password and the types of coffee sent. If anyone needs my help in shutting them down, I'll do whatever I can. If my efforts fail, I'm contacting the attorney general... which I may do anyway.

I just became another scammed coffee buyer--34.00$ for the 9.00$ coffee grinder and coffee sammpler and a week later a 48.00$ charge on my debit card for 2 more bags of the same kind of coffee. Nowhere did I sign/or see an agreement to enter into a monthly coffee club nor did I give them permission to use my debit card. I am so angry. Spoke to my bank and have to cancel my debit card and get a new one issued! AGHHH

MAKE SURE YOU DEMAND A FULL REFUND!

I was charged $34 on 11/5/07 and $38.95 on 11/13/07. I called and the first person took of the 2nd fee, I asked to speak with a manager and she was not willing to help any further her name is Rita (ID# 3005), so I asked to speak with her supervisor and her name is Rebecca (ID# 3015) and she is a director. The company claims, since they put you owe $25 in the terms and conditions that they don't owe you a refund, I told her that when I put my CC # in I was never shown that my CC was charged more than $9. She finally ended up refunding all of my money.

Only thing that I think would prove to be extremely difficult would be to get any refunds if you were charged NSF fees by your bank.

I plan on seeing what I can do to get this shut down. I ended up signing up for the coffee b/c I don't have any money for Christmas and I was under the assumption that if I signed up for a few small priced offers I could receive a target gift card for $500. This is not the only place I was charged additional money after already trying to cancel memberships. I can't afford this and I can't believe I was stupid/desperate enough to caught in this scam!

I was also fraudulently charged by the Seattle Coffee Direct.com.
Instead of advertised $9.00, my credit card was charged twice. First time $34.00 and in a week - another charge
for 38.95. I've never given my permission to make such
charges.

I am 76 years old retiree. I've never in my life met such an insolent swindling!

I'm just going to add what I put on another one of these complaints:

As soon as they said that my card had been declined I knew something was up. I called and did actually get someone, but she would only tell me that my card had been declined on their end, and that the bank statement saying that $35 was charged to them was obviously false.

Then when I saw all of these similar complaints, I knew I was pretty much screwed. So I filed a report with the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) . I encourage other people to do so as well, so that these jerks can be shut down and possibly be brought to justice. I also plan to change my card number to prevent future charges, and bug the crap out of the people on their 888-217-CAFE number.

Also, someone said that a "VP" of the company, Eric Flippo, can be found at

Seattle Coffee Direct These people are crooks!

I take all the blame for being stupid and responding to an online survey. The promotional offer was 2 lb of coffee plus a coffee grinder for $9.

It sounded like a good deal. Somewhere in the fine print was a $25 membership fee. I was charged $34.00 on Jan 30. I went on line to check my credit card bill and saw this charge plus another on Feb 7. I called immediately to cancel. The coffee is lousy and definitely not worth $17 per lb. I have seen numerous complaints online and they apparently charge for coffee much more often than once every 30 days. I am going to call again and tell them that they are no longer authorized to charge my card and if there is another charge, I am going to file a police report for theft. I am also going to call my credit card and hopefully block any future charges. Apparently these people are crooks. I have a subscription with Gevalia and the coffee and the service is great.

I did a promotion form a survey and quickly canceled the order because the charge was much more than what was offered. I didn't get a charge on my account. but lately I have got two charges. One from shopdani.com for 79.00 and the other from seattle coffee fro 79.00 the first one didn't go through it sat in pending for a couple days. The charge I have now is only pending. I did not order anyting from either of these companies. I did research and shopdani.com and seattle coffee has the same office in Evanston IL. They are aboslutying ripping you off.

In an above post the diecor of customer serivice posted a number to call. I haven't called it but I did send him a cease and desist email.

I suggest runing not walkig to your bank and file a charge dispute they will return your money and go after seattle coffee to get thiers back. you will have to get a new card with a new number. took 10 days to get my new one from B of A.

I ordered from Seattle Coffee Direct as part of a deal to get a $100 gift card to Barnes & Noble that I will probably never see, and boy, do I know better now. Anyway, I was to pay $5 for shipping and they charged me $25. (Probably that “fine print” membership you guys mentioned and I never saw.) Then I got more and more coffee. When I saw my credit card bill, I had been charged $38.95 FOUR times by Bellezza Coffee Company. (They have complaints here, too.) I called Seattle Coffee Direct, and the woman admitted they were Bellezza. She said the customer has to sign up for a desired frequency of delivery, and if they don't, the computer automatically ships the coffee. I got shipments every THREE days! What kind of crazy delivery schedule is that? I don't run a coffee shop! Of course I called right away to cancel what I thought was a trial membership. Anyway, she tells me to send the coffee back -- "just seal up the package and drop it in the box, don't take it to the counter because they'll make you pay postage. When we get the coffee, we'll refund the money." Fat chance, I thought.

So I called my credit card company to dispute the charges, and I am not going to be held responsible for them until Seattle Coffee explains themselves. They said to return the coffee-- but send it with return receipt requested so I have proof that Seattle Coffee got the product back and owe the money to my credit card account. At the Post Office, they recommended sending it certified so that Seattle Coffee has to sign for it, because that will hold up in court if necessary. I'm not taking this lying down. They have angered the wrong grandma!

Remember, this slimy operation is in Evanston IL not Seattle WA.

I was also taken by the 5 for $5 deal on the internet. I know that it is my fault for making the purchase but the end result and the amount of charges is unreal. I called to cancel after I received a second shipment and I did not know why. Then a few weeks later I saw that I was charged 2 more times. I called again and was told that I never cancelled so it would be taken care of right then and that I would receive a credit within 5 to 7 business days. After 8 days and no credit I called again and was told there was I problem and the transaction would be made again in 3 to 5 business days. After 6 days and no credit I called again and was told that I would receive my credit within 72 hours. I already have an attorney ready to help if the credit is not received within the next 72 hours. Good Luck to all who are dealing with the one of the worst managed organizations I have ever seen.

I took the on-line survey, I ordered what I thought was 2 mugs and 2 bags of coffee, I got 4 mugs and 2 bags of less than desirable tasting coffee, then with in a week I got 2 more bags of coffee, I thought I cancelled my enrollment well today I got 2 more bags at $38, I called the number on the envelope Brian was quick to tell me that I had not cancelled and since I didn't indicate how often I wanted the coffee the COMPUTOR GENERATED MY DELIVERIE'S, I cancelled with Brian he issued a credit. I then tried to send an e/mail expressing my displeasure could not find e/mail address called back spoke to some girl she was quite RUDE, what a horrable way to do business, I will stick with starbucks, they don't even charge $38 for 2 small bags of coffee. I signed up for a 5 for $25 special. I didn't realize they were going to continue sending and billing me for additional coffee so I also received a second shipment at the same time with 2 more bags of coffee. I just called them concerning this and they immediately cancelled my account with an email confirmation coming to me so I have backup. Hopefully this will prevent further issues. I was also told I could return unwanted shipments that I have already received for a refund. When I called, I got right through to a live person that was very helpful...

We feel the same way. We got suckered into the same deal and when we discovered what had happened we sent the coffee back after cancelling our 'membership'. We never did get our credit. I agree with everyone who has posted here. I too, took an online survey. Every 2 weeks I am being sent coffee, which is not that great, and I am being charged $40.00. And I cannot get anyone to answer the phone as well. At any rate, when I "signed up", I agreed to MONTHLY deliveries, NOT bi-weekly. Anyone have any suggesstions as far as what to do considering all of us only granted the company permission to charge us ONCE a month? Please respond asap. I am very frustrated and I am more than ready to take action against this company!

They got me in the past week. I fell for it too... The coffee grinder and 2 bags of coffee for $9.00. How many of you, like me, got involved with the "Get a free laptop" survey? Nothing is free, and I should know that by now. A couple days later I saw the pending debit on my credit card for $34.00. I found their website and called the phone# and DID get to speak to someone, who told me the $25 was for shipping and handling. I told her to cancel immediately and she said the shipment was already on it's way. That was a week ago. Has anyone ever received the coffee grinder? Yes, this is a scam, and I believe they are crooks.
