I've purchased ammo from them 3 different time and sure there's a 10 day wait for shipping and then a few days later it at my door. Customer Service gets back to me every time I email them and I think I spoke to someone on the phone with no problem. My friend as well purchased ammo from them and no problems.
Rural King online gun buying was excellent
Received email on an item I wanted. Placed order on a Friday. Item shipped on a Tuesday and I received the email from the store the following Tuesday. A total of 8 days between order and pick up. Since the website said it would take 7 to 10 business days to process the order, I would rate the experience as excellent.
Great Gun At A Great Price
I'm not sure what all the stink is about on here. I ordered a rifle on Sep 9th, it arrived at the store on the 19th and everything went smooth. Tracking wasn't updating so I emailed customer service and got a reply and answer within 15 mins. Overall great experience not sure what all the nay sayers are whining about...

I started dealing with RK GUNS on April of 2020. I bought the S&W 40 VE on -line for $279.00. $100.00 under my local gun store. RK had it in stock, where no other dealers had it in stock anywhere for any price. I received gun 10 days after placing order. Since then I have purchased 4 other firearms. RK has unbeatable $ prices as well as fast shipping. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND RK GUNS FOR ON- LINE FIREARM ORDERS!
Fantastic Service
I see a lot of negative reviews here but I have made 2 purchases that were nothing but a great experience. I did make a third purchase that seemed to take a little longer than expected. When I contacted Customer Service via email, they responded within 30 minutes. They apologized and told me that the order had to be canceled. I completely understand given the current climate, I assume that only so many were available and I was last one to order.
First time buying at RK gun barn
I recently purchased an ez9 snw pistol at Clarksville tn store. Although I had to order it online as they had sold out at the store. The process was painless. I printed out copies of the transaction as it went along. They kept updating as to the progress of my order. True to their time frame the order came in. At the store we did the background check. 15 minutes later we were out the door. The salespeople were all curtious and very helpfull throughout the process. As I am not a new gun buyer and have purchased shotguns, rifles, revolvers and pistols at other various stores this was a pleasant experience. I will not hesitate to make additional purchases from them. Keep up the good work RK and thanks! John O.
Poor customer service experience from rkguns.com leaves sour taste in mouth
So, I was browsing rkguns.com and saw that a product was listed as in stock. I placed my order, only to receive a message 20 days later informing me that they can't fulfill it. I received what appeared to be a scripted reply, claiming that their site has too many orders coming in. I call this garbage! They have a stock-based system that should remove items as orders come in, which is basic inventory management.
When I mentioned that I had also purchased a bunch of ammo for the firearm, they replied that it was not refundable. The whole situation left a sour taste in my mouth. The customer service was terrible, and I don't think I'll be shopping there again, not just for firearms, but anything else either.
It was frustrating to see them try to play it off like they were doing their best to fulfill the order. I even reached out to the maker, who confirmed that they had many items in stock and ready to ship. If this is how Rural King does business, then it's not a business I want to support. Warning: Do Not Trust RK Guns' 'In Stock' Status and Delivery Timeframe
I recently decided to try out RK Guns for a rifle purchase and boy, was that a mistake. Like many others, I learned the hard way that their 'in stock' status and delivery timeframe is not to be trusted. It's all a bunch of baloney. I waited an entire month for my supposedly in-stock rifle to arrive at my local store, which is only a four-hour drive away from their distribution center/warehouse where it shipped from. And when I reached out to customer service for an update, they were unable to give me any information. Even the local store was clueless about the rifle's whereabouts.
The worst part? This was a $1300 rifle, and yet no one at RK Guns seemed to know where it was. The lack of communication and transparency was frustrating and disappointing. In the end, it turns out that for the measly sum of $12.99 shipping, RK Guns basically threw my rifle on the same semi-truck that was already headed to the local store with another load of mostly imported junk that they're selling these days. What a letdown.
If you're in the market for a new firearm, do yourself a favor and skip RK Guns. There are plenty of other online gun stores out there that will ship your purchase directly to your local FFL transfer point and have it to you in just 2-3 days. I made the mistake of giving RK Guns a chance, but I won't be making that mistake again. In fact, I'll be avoiding their gun counter altogether from now on.
Unacceptable Lack of Security at RK Guns' Gun Show
This here is my honest opinion about RK Guns (rkguns.com). I'm a big fan of guns, I love 'em. And I'm all about that second amendment, you know what I mean? But I gotta say, I went to the gun show they had on January 1st and it was a complete disaster, man. I mean, first off, when we got there, there was this huge-[censored] line of like 250 to 300 people waiting to get in. And there was only one person selling tickets and checking guns as they came in. Like, come on, man, how hard is it to hire another person for that? So we had to wait in line for like an hour before we could even get in. And then, get this, there was not a single security guard in sight both inside and outside the venue!
So, because of the lack of security, we ended up standing super close to a big plate glass window in the lobby. Then, out of nowhere, some dumbo from outside shoots through the window 5 times. 5 times, can you believe it? Luckily, no one was seriously hurt, but two dudes got scraped up a bit. And to make matters even worse, the day before this incident, some dude fired off a rifle in the parking lot! I mean, seriously, where was the security?!
After all this madness, I can definitely say I'm never going to another RK gun show again. I'm all about having some killer guns, but this whole situation was just completely unacceptable. It's a shame too because stuff like this ruins the reputations of legit gun shows. It's not like the media cares, they'll just blame every gun show there is. But, honestly, RK Guns needs to seriously rethink their security situation. 'Cause if they don't, someone's going to end up dead and nobody's going to be able to spend any damn money then.

However, when I contacted the store at 4pm on the same day, I was told that my gun wasn't on any of the four trucks that were received that day. The store representative informed me that it would take up to 10 days for my gun to arrive, which was quite disappointing.
On the 10th day, I still hadn't received my gun, and when I called the customer service department, I was put on hold for 2 hours and then hung up on after 1 hour on the line. When I finally did get a hold of a customer care representative, they had no idea where my gun was. Furthermore, I found out that the day after I ordered my gun, the price had been raised by $50 and it was now sold out again. I had no way to track my shipment, and this was the second time this year that I had been disappointed by RK Guns.
The first time was when I ordered 1000 rounds of 9mm ammunition that was in stock and ready to ship, but after waiting for 3 months, I was told that they were shipping ammo to stores first before fulfilling individual orders. I recently had an experience with RK Guns that left me frustrated and disappointed. In late May, I ordered a handgun from their website. This item was hard to find in stock at most vendors, so when I received an email from RK Guns stating that the item was available, I was glad to have found it. As is standard with most firearm purchases, I was asked to provide a copy of the FFL (Federal Firearms License) of the facility to which I wanted the firearm shipped.
I immediately sent a copy of the FFL license to RK Guns, and I expected to receive a confirmation that they had received it shortly after. However, I did not receive any response at all. I sent a total of three emails to follow up on this issue and received only automated responses in return. It was frustrating not to know whether the FFL license had been accepted or if my order was going to be cancelled due to not receiving the license within seven days.
I then decided to call their customer service line. Unfortunately, I was on hold for almost an hour and never spoke with a person. I called again a few days later, and again, I was on hold for over an hour without any human contact. On my third attempt, I finally got to speak with a customer service representative (after another 45 minutes of waiting). They confirmed that the FFL had been received and that my order was "being processed, estimated 10-14 days for order to be shipped." However, despite the promised timeline, the item was not shipped for three weeks. I received no update on the shipment, no change in the status of my order, and no charge on my credit card.
I eventually found the same item in stock at another vendor and ordered it from them. When I called that company to confirm the stock, a human being answered the phone, and I was relieved to learn that the item was indeed in stock. Feeling frustrated with RK Guns' lack of communication, I called them again and spoke to a customer service representative (after another 45 minutes of waiting) to cancel the order, which they did.
It is disappointing that RK Guns did not provide adequate communication or customer service throughout this experience. Although the desired item was in stock, the lack of assurance and prolonged waiting made the purchase process unnecessarily difficult. I was never sure if they had the item in stock, if the FFL had been accepted, or if I would ever receive my order. Worst Ever
Ordered an mpa defender 9mm on the 18th of july, from rkguns.com took them until the 25th to "process" my order, it shipped from the distribution center in mattoon IL on the 25th of july and didn't get the the warehouse until the 31st of july, warehouse is also in mattoon IL, then it took another 5 days for it to ship to the store in IN. It gets to the store on the 3rd of August, i'm not notified until the 4th of august that it is ready for pick up but i was at work and couldn't get there until saturday the 5th of august. I get there and inspect the weapon and all seems fine so i do the paperwork and they tell me there is a 3 day delay on picking up my weapon so by this time i am pretty upset that it has taken almost a month for me to even look at it so i call customer service to ask what is the delay about because i had just purchased a para pt14-45 on the 25th of august from buck and jakes and there was no delay, i was told they have nothing to do with the delay and i could come get my weapon in 3 days time. So i go back into the store while still on the phone with customer service and no less than 3 people were playing with the weapon i had purchased and inspected so i told them that i would like for them to not be handling my weapon because it is baught and paid for and its not a toy. At this point i am so upset and felt i was being lied to so i left the store and drove to buck and jakes to buy a taurus gc3 9mm and magically it took 15 mins for my background check to come back and i took the taurus home. I do not know why they lied to me repeatedly or why it took almost a month to get it to the store just to be told i have to wait even longer but i will never buy from them again. I am a 23 year army vet with zero criminal record (minus a speeding ticket i got in my camaro 3 weeks ago) i have bought over 100 weapons and NEVER have i had to deal with this kind of thing. Do yourself a favor and buy from literally any place else!

I had been searching for a specific type of gun, with a top cocker, and when I came across the RK Guns website, I was happy to see that they had what I was looking for. However, when I saw that there was another option, a side cocker, I became interested in that style instead.
Wanting to switch my order, I decided to give the customer service line a call. Unfortunately, the lady who answered the phone was not very helpful at first. She told me that they did not carry the side cocker style and that there was nothing she could do to help me switch my order.
Feeling frustrated and disappointed, I asked her why they had the gun available for sale online when they didn't actually carry both styles. Thankfully, after some prodding, she agreed to check the system. It was a simple solution that could have been handled more efficiently had the lady been a little friendlier and more willing to help in the first place.
Eventually, she informed me that they did not have any of the side cocker style guns available. While I was disappointed with the news, I was even more dissatisfied with the customer service I received. In my opinion, RK Guns should look into hiring a more personable receptionist who values building customer relationships and providing excellent service.
