I've been feeding my cat Royal Canin SO for over 7 years
I've been feeding my cat Royal Canin SO for over 7 years. The price has gone from $60 to $109 per bag. It's really unfair to charge such high prices for a food that is necessary for animals with medical needs. Royal Canin should feel ashamed for taking advantage of people.
I signed up for an auto shipment of Royal Canine food
I signed up for an auto shipment of Royal Canine food. They took my money from my account, but they still haven't sent my order. I tried to cancel the shipment, but they said it's already being fulfilled. It's been almost two weeks, and I haven't received the product. I want a refund because I don't think I'll ever get my item.
I been feedin' my old cat the rabbit n' pea canned food formula for the past five years
I been feedin' my old cat the rabbit n' pea canned food formula for the past five years. There been lotsa times when the supply chain got messed up. The latest one, which happened this year, was the worst. They changed the formula, made the cans smaller, an' worst of all, there ain't no food available at all. Now I gotta find another food for my 19 year old cat with IBD. This company says they care 'bout pets, but this is just plain irresponsible.
Royal Canin done made their cans smaller, goin' from 5.8 oz to 5.2 oz, and they done hiked up the prices like crazy - goin' from $36 to $47
Royal Canin done made their cans smaller, goin' from 5.8 oz to 5.2 oz, and they done hiked up the prices like crazy - goin' from $36 to $47. When I called 'em up, them customer services folks just said sorry, but they ain't offerin' no help at all. I asked 'em 'bout coupons and they said they only got 'em for dry food. I gotta find me a new brand 'cause this here's gettin' too dang expensive. Now I'm stuck havin' to use up the latest order to slowly switch her to somethin' else.
My cat has been eating Royal Canin PV wet food for a long time
My cat has been eating Royal Canin PV wet food for a long time. It is vet prescribed for cats who need a limited ingredient diet. Without warning or explanation to customers, RC recently changed this product and also made the can smaller while increasing the price of a case by a lot. My cat won't eat the new version. When I asked RC why, they said it was for "scientific reasons". Now I have to find another food and I'm stuck with 2 cases of cat food that my cat won't eat, which cost me $180. What a rip off!
Hey fellow dog lovers, I've been a breeder for a while now and I've been getting my RC dry kibble from their website for over 10 years
Hey fellow dog lovers, I've been a breeder for a while now and I've been getting my RC dry kibble from their website for over 10 years. Lately, though, I've been having some issues. I place my orders and the next day, bam, I get an email saying it's been cancelled. What a bummer, right? So, I've had to resort to buying a 30lb bag from another website, even though it's more expensive. The price isn't the problem though, it's the fact that RC still takes my order only to cancel it later. Maybe it's because of COVID-19? I think RC should just shut down their website if they can't handle the orders. That's just my two cents. Yours truly, *** from North Carolina.
Royal Canin Persian was gone for a while and when it finally came back in May, I was so relieved
Royal Canin Persian was gone for a while and when it finally came back in May, I was so relieved. It's the only cat food my 3 Persians will eat. But then, about a month later, one of my cats started scratching himself like crazy. He scratched so much that he had raw, bloody, bald patches. I took him to the vet twice and ended up spending about $1000 on him, including meds, but he still kept scratching. Then, I noticed something strange. He was eating his food in a weird way, only using his front teeth. I looked it up online and everything pointed to an allergy. But nothing had changed in his environment, so I couldn't figure out what it could be. That's when I realized that his food had been off the market and the recipe had been changed. I immediately switched brands and all the cats ate the new food without any problems. Within a few days, he stopped itching. Later, when I compared the labels of the cat foods, I couldn't believe what I saw in Royal Canin. It was actually pretty shocking. I had to share my experience because it was just too much.
My dog has had allergies since he was a pup
My dog has had allergies since he was a pup. I started him on the select PR product at his dermatologists recommendation. Last week I got a refill of his normal order of wet food from *** and I thought it smelled different than normal. I looked at the expiration date and it was 2023 so I thought maybe the smell was because it was “really new” and fed my dog. My dog was also diagnosed with CHF and ended up in the ER because of this bad food. Sure he has CHF but it was manageable with medication, but the diarrhea and refusal to trust the food I gave him (with the pills inside) almost ended his life. It also cost me $1700. After the ER, I am feeding him Hills food and he eats every bite without hesitation. No reimbursement from RC will ever replace the stress both of us have gone through. I realize it’s possible storage at RC or *** could be the problem, but either way it’s not acceptable and I won’t trust either ever again.
I wanted to complain about Royal Canin 'cause they keep raisin' the prices all the time
I wanted to complain about Royal Canin 'cause they keep raisin' the prices all the time. Finally, after waitin' for like 3 months, they got the hepatic dry dog food back in stock. But every time I called 'em, they gave me a different answer about when it would be available again: 2 weeks, "we dunno," it's a transportation problem, and all that. So, the other day, when I was 'bout to place my order on Chewy, I saw that the price had gone up AGAIN. Before it went outta stock, the retail price was $125 for a 26lb bag. Now, it's gone up to $135. When I first started usin' this stuff in August for my dog with liver disease, the price for the 26lb bag was $99. I'm just so disappointed that the price keeps goin' up without any clear reason from Royal Canin. When I called 'em today, they said the price increase was 'cause of inflation, transportation costs, and makin' the formula. I asked 'em why the price went up when the food came back in stock instead of months ago when inflation started affectin' people. It feels like this company is takin' advantage of us customers and they just don't care.
My pet was prescribed with Urinary S/O
My pet was prescribed with Urinary S/O. One day a batch was delivered and for a whole week she was having uncontrollable diarrhea, fever, and fatigue symptoms. She refused to eat. This went on for almost two weeks. My doctor couldn't determine the cause--it was only when I had an 'ah-ha!' moment when I realized it started happening since her new batch of food. I spent a lot of money on blood tests and money on the Vet during this time as well. Very upset. Did research apparently earlier this year or last year they changed up the ingredients without telling anyone (or had some contamination) and a lot of pets got really sick. I read about 15 pages (10 reviews or more each page) of people having the SAME exact issue--same symptoms etc since getting the food delivered this year. I have switched foods to a different brand that is also Urinary S/O as well and she has been doing well and never had same symptoms. She would NOT even touch the old food -- because she knew it was making her sick. THEY ARE NOT BEING TRANSPARENT about what is going on with the food nor are they taking responsibility. I am putting this out as a WARNING to other customers in hopes that they can save heartache as well as money spent at the doctors.
I've been feedin Royal Canin vet grade SO + calm for over 2 years with no problems
I've been feedin Royal Canin vet grade SO + calm for over 2 years with no problems. So when my vet wanted me to change one of my cats to Royal Canin vet Satiety food, I did it with no reservations. I changed three overweight cats to this food. After a day, one of these cats started limping and actin very fatigued. Slept a lot and didn’t follow any of her normal routine. A call to the vet said watch her for a day and see. By the next day, the other two cats were behaving exactly the same way. Limpin on exactly the same leg, seemin extremely fatigued, and not followin their normal routine. It didn’t take long for me to realize these were the three cats on the new food. I spent lots of money at the vet on bloodwork, checkup and xrays which all showed nothin that could be causin the symptoms. I am left to assume that the food change had to be the culprit. I immediately threw out several hundred dollars worth of food and started all my cats on another brand. Two of the cats have bounced back. One is still strugglin. While I have no “proof” it’s the food, anecdotal evidence certainly points to the food. I am very disappointed in a company I and my vet thought we could trust. I really hope if there is a problem with the food Royal Canin will rectify it before someone suffers the loss of their cat.
Royal Canin diabetic vet formula makes my dog's sugars go really high, even when I give him a little more insulin to handle it, I still can't
Royal Canin diabetic vet formula makes my dog's sugars go really high, even when I give him a little more insulin to handle it, I still can't keep the sugars stable or stop them from spiking again. I bring it down and the food just spikes it back up again, all day long. My dog starts off with a good fast and gets his full dose of insulin, but within 15 minutes his sugars are already spiked over 100 points! There was even a time when his blood glucose went into the *** plus range in just 15 minutes after eating this food! Now, his full dose of insulin, which used to be enough to bring down his normal fast, is not sufficient to handle the crazy and dangerous spikes caused by this food! My poor little dog has to have 2-3 injections per meal (first a full dose, then another half unit, and if needed, a third half unit) just to keep his sugar levels down. This food is not helpful for my dog's diabetes and it's causing even more problems for both of us. The ingredients are cheap too, and it surprises me that they think this food is worth almost $100 per *** kg bag? I'm going to do some research and find another food, it doesn't have to be vet recommended. I just need to make sure the fat level is low to prevent pancreatitis, there's a decent amount of protein, and I watch the carbs! Then I can find the right amount of insulin to work with it. Don't believe everything vets recommend, it's all about money. Most of the vet food is junk with cheap ingredients. Use your money to find a better quality food.

I found a plastic piece in the Royal Canin Renal Support E Veterinary Diet
I found a plastic piece in the Royal Canin Renal Support E Veterinary Diet. It was really disappointing to discover this in the food. I hope they improve their quality control to prevent such incidents in the future.
I got two cats who've been on Royal Canin Satiety Support for urinary and weight, as recommended by my Vet
I got two cats who've been on Royal Canin Satiety Support for urinary and weight, as recommended by my Vet. They've been on it for about 2 years now. Just got a shipment of the canned wet food on 7/11/22 (2 cases for $138.77). Gave it to my cats that night and now they got diarrhea. Contacted my vet on 7/16/22 and they said to stop the wet food and give them dry. Diarrhea cleared up. Tried the wet food again and now the diarrhea's back. I attached pics of the front and back of the wet food can and also my receipt.
Royal Canin is tryin to kill my cat!
Royal Canin is tryin to kill my cat! First, it was the Renal + Hydrolyzed Protein dry food that made her super sick. Now I'm findin pieces of hard plastic in her wet food (Renal Support E)! There is also possibly metal in there, cuz it pops real loud when I warm it in the microwave for 5 seconds. Pictures of lot numbers for both products attached. I've been feedin my cat Royal Canin for about two years and she's been in and out of hospitals with diarrhea, vomitin, loss of appetite, lethargy, and weight loss that entire time... and each time the doctors come up with nothin, and they keep insistin on the Royal Canin diet.

I've been usin urinary so cat food for 7years
I've been usin urinary so cat food for 7years. After buyin my last bag, every time I fed my cat, she vomits. I called my vet to ask if they knew of any issue with the food. They said no, but my cat still would vomit when fed. I took her to the vet, who thought she might have a bladder infection and gave her antibiotics. Still, she was sick. I changed her food to iams and she got better right away. I went on line to check customer reviews and found many people had the problem. Royal canon had responded with a phone number. I called and was then told about a formula change, which among other things made the food harder. This was why she was eatin it whole and vomitin. I didn't even get an apology.
Royal Canin's policy say: "If you not happy with Royal Canin food, you can give it back and get all your money back
Royal Canin's policy say: "If you not happy with Royal Canin food, you can give it back and get all your money back." I made a claim on July 27 'cause the cat food made my cat sick. They said they approved the refund, but when I asked 4 times when I gonna get it, they just say "it's in finance" and don't give me no other info or even a number to call finance. This been going on for 3 months now and I keep getting the same answer. They owe me $122.25. Royal Canin got all the info they asked for (they said it's approved) and they approved the refund of $122.25. But I still ain't got the money or even a note saying it's on the way. My Royal Canin case number is ***.
I only used Royal Canin Frenchie Puppy kibble for my 7 month old Frenchie since I got her in September
I only used Royal Canin Frenchie Puppy kibble for my 7 month old Frenchie since I got her in September . At first, she was okay with the food, but then she got really bad allergies. Lately, she got a double ear infection. Even though she took a lot of prescriptions for the allergies, like otc benadryl, nothing helped and her allergies got worse. She lost all her fur around her eyes, near her mouth, and in between her wrinkles. She even scratched one of her eyes and got scabs on her lower eyelids. Her behavior changed and she became more aggressive and anxious. So, I recently changed her food to a different brand. Within a week, she started to respond better. She scratched less and her behavior calmed down. I added some pictures of her face while her allergies were getting worse. The vet knows that I switched her food because of the allergies.
When I got my 10-year-old Grand Champion Standard Poodle Puppy at 6 months old, I worked with the vet to slowly switch him to Royal Canine puppy
When I got my 10-year-old Grand Champion Standard Poodle Puppy at 6 months old, I worked with the vet to slowly switch him to Royal Canine puppy food. After about 2-3 weeks, my puppy, who I named Prince, started vomiting and having uncontrollable diarrhea. At first, the tests for giardia came back negative, but when they were sent to another lab, they found some suspicious bacteria, even though the tests still came back negative. The vet and FDA informed me that the Royal Canine dog food, which was outsourced, was contaminated and causing these symptoms. Unfortunately, Prince's symptoms are now considered lifelong, and he will need to be on prescription food and probiotics for the rest of his life. I have to buy expensive prescription dog food and I want to be reimbursed for the total cost of $997.76, which includes unnecessary vet expenses and 3 bags of RC dog food that I have to keep for the FDA. The FDA has started an investigation on Prince's behalf. I'm not asking for reimbursement for the most recent bill, but it serves as proof of the ongoing issue.
I gave my dog royal cabin low fat gi
I gave my dog royal cabin low fat gi. He has been very sick since. He has been diagnosed with pasturella infection and has been on antibiotics for months. The food had a very rancid odor. I got it at *** in ***. I didn't know it should not smell like that. Within days if eating it my dog was having trouble breathing and ended up in hospital for 3 days. They used same food with different dates and it had no smell. He was then transferred to royal canin. Renal which gave him severe diarrhea. Royal cabin has my complaints and even knowing my dog got pasture low from eating it, still won't properly investigate the food. I'm also out money for 4 cases of go and 2 cases of renal as the hospital he was in is 2 hours away and I can't take it back. Please investigate this food and refund me the 6 cases. I refuse to ever use royal canin again as they don't seem to care my dog has been sick for months after saying their food and has cost me thousands in vet bills. I feel royal canin should reimburse me for that also.
The company charged my CLOSED account for Diamond Lake Animal Hospital $853.90 total (3 transactions: $303.10, $168.68, and $384.23) on 4/3/22
The company charged my CLOSED account for Diamond Lake Animal Hospital $853.90 total (3 transactions: $303.10, $168.68, and $384.23) on 4/3/22. I called them on 4/4/22 to let them know and get a refund issued to the credit card. They said it would take 2-3 days. I called again on 4/8/22 and got the same info. I called a 3rd time on 4/12/22 and they said it would take 2 days. I called today and they said it was "processed on 4/8/22 and would take 5 days to arrive in my account." I told them it's been 6 days since they supposedly processed the refund, so it should have arrived already. They don't know why and can't connect me to someone who can fix this today. They said they know it's a fraudulent charge as our account is "blocked/closed for making purchases," but they still haven't refunded my money or connected me to someone who can help. They say they don't have a phone number for a manager in the finance department.
I started feeding my cats royal canin cuz it was a lil more expensive than other cat food and it had been recommended by a vet to start them on
I started feeding my cats royal canin cuz it was a lil more expensive than other cat food and it had been recommended by a vet to start them on it cuz she liked the food. They were fine for the first three months meaning this was not an issue with switching their food. I started slowly with the transition to not cause issues such as diarrhea. After spending over 100 dollars on wet cat food from royal canin my cats started to develop symptoms. I was not sure that it was from the ***. One of my cats who did not show symptoms started to refuse to eat her wet food which is odd. She would immediately turn her nose up and walk away. The other one began to puke it up immediately after eating. The third one would puke multiple times a day. I didnt connect the puking to the wet cat food for about a week as the puking I assumed was due to the one who puked immediately after, eating too fast. After a week of constant puking it got to the point where my one cat was frothing at the mouth and puking every 20 minutes. I discontinued the use of the we cat food and the problem immediately resolved within a day. They have been puke free for over a week now. The issue was definitely the wet cat food. I will never use this brand again and I have since talked to others who claim this has happened to their pets too and the constant puking was immediately resolved when the food was switched.
This complaint is about Royal Canin's billing stuff and customer service
This complaint is about Royal Canin's billing stuff and customer service. I run a vet clinic that buys Royal Canin food for our peeps. Usually, I get a bill at the end of the month with a payment due date of the 15th next month. But by March 13, I didn't get a bill for February. So, on March 13 at 12:54pm, I called their customer service number (the only phone number they show anywhere) to ask for an email bill. I talked to *** and she said she'd ask for that and I'd get something soon. Two hours later, no email. I called again at 2:14pm and talked to another person who said they had no record of my call and no request for the bill. They asked for the request and gave me a case number. On March 14, still no bill, so I called again at 12:29pm. Again, I talked to ***, who said I'd get the bill by email tomorrow. I asked if the payment would also be due tomorrow (the 15th). She said yes. No sorry or trying to fix their mess-up. I asked to talk to her boss. She said someone would call me back. No one to talk to, no way to get info, and no help with a simple thing. Bills should be email-able right away. This is not cool from a big company like Royal Canin.
Royal Canin is a company that makes cat food prescribed by vets for medical reasons
Royal Canin is a company that makes cat food prescribed by vets for medical reasons. I've been using their wet glycobalance cat food to control my 16-year-old cat's blood sugar because she has diabetes. Since last year, the RC food shelves have been completely empty in every store that sells them. Even the vets who carry it can't get it, so we don't know why or when it will be back. I've contacted RC many times asking when I can expect the product, but they can't give me a timeline or explain the problems or solutions they're working on. They've left us in the dark after taking away a product that's essential for our pets' health. They don't seem to care about improving communication with customers or assuring us that the product will be available soon. It's like they don't think it's a big deal. Because of RC's negligence and lack of communication, my cat's health has gotten much worse. It's not acceptable to have this product unavailable everywhere without giving customers a reasonable explanation or timeframe. It's irresponsible and disrespectful to the customers who trusted this brand with their pets' health. I tried emailing CEO Moutault, but got no response. I've also called their hotline multiple times, but they won't give any helpful information and keep important details from us.
