Sanford Brown Institute Fraud and Scammers

I do not know who this company is but I'm pretty sure they are scammers. I have never taken out loans and my education was paid in full because I'm a veteran and have full tuition coverage through the GI Bill. This woman keeps calling me and leaving me this email below. I called once just to see what she would say and she defiantly does not work for the school. She asked for my social instead of my student ID. I have reported this issue to the school.

EMAIL SENT MULTIPLE TIMES:

Latrice Williams

It is extremely important you get in touch with us regarding the status of your school account. We are here to assist you with any questions or issue you may have regarding your account. Please respond to this email or contact us today at [protected]. I look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you very much.

Sanford Brown Institute Charges

My brother 'co-signed' my student loans 10+ or so years ago and this 'debt' keeps getting “re-sold" to other collection companies as an outstanding debt. These are My student loans that have been fully dismissed on my end. Every 5- years it is sold to another company and it's hurting his (brothers) credit. Mine were dismissed due to a traumatic brain injury. No one could've known this was going to happen to me. Just recently he approached me (08/27/2022) about them. The School started as IADT Online then as Sallie Mae loans - then to Sanford Brown Institute and now this account is being sold over and over again with an updated date from when these new collections agencies receive them. All these schools are no longer valid/shutdown or operating. What can we or I do to have them fully forgiven and have his name removed? Thank you for your time..

Desired outcome: I want my brother to stop getting harassed and his credit restored over this debacle

Sanford Brown Institute Medical Assistant Program

Went to UDS (Ultrasound Diagnostic School) in 2000 and I've never even received my certificate... yes it states that I completed in October of 2000...but they are stating that I graduated in October 25, 2001... I know that's not true at all because I finished the extern around September of 2000 I was pregnant at the time so I definitely would know and I had my son in January of 2001... and was done months before I even had him... so I really don't know where this October of 2001 is even coming from... but have no proof at all since I have no certificate.. I would like to get this discharged but without any help.

Desired outcome: Discharge this student loan

Sanford Brown Institute Institute approved my leave, but wanted money for the student credit

I started to attend classes in Sanford Brown Institute. But 2 months later, my son had some health problems and I needed to stop my studies. I warned the management of the institute and they approved my leave. But after that I got a phone call from debt collectors, and they wanted to get money for the student credit. I said that the Institute knew about my leave and the rep interrupted me and told that the Institute called them and wanted money. I can’t understand their actions.

Sanford Brown Institute The lady lied and gave me wrong advice

The rep from Sanford Brown Institute scammed me. She advised me to attend ultrasound program, which would give me credit and after that I would be able to attend the medical assisting program. But after I have finished the course, it turned out that I still haven’t received enough credit. I was so naïve and trusted this lady, but she lied into my face and told me completely wrong things. I need to start everything again.

I have enrolled for the program through the company Sanford Brown Ins. I wanted to share my review about this agency, because they told me that the program was accredited, but it was lie. Also they promised me to find a job after I would graduate, but they did nothing. I simply wasted time and money, but this company turned completely unprofessional. Not advisable place.

Sanford Brown Institute Fraud

My name is Dionne Perry, I enrolled in classes at Sanford brown July 2013 to Nov. 2013 for Medical Assistant. When I first called the school I takes to my Enrollment counselor Jade Hudgin at the Atlanta, GA. campus which I asked a series of questions regarding the school and the accreditation's. I was told by Ms. Hudgins that the school was regionally and Nationally accredited which was not true. I also told Ms. Hudgins my over all plan was to gain my Medical Assistant license and take my credits to another school for additional schooling in medical. She promised and reinsured me that all my classes will go to another school. I asked her in detail what we would learn in the classes in Medical Assistant because I was on the fence if I wanted to take the Ultrasound class instead. She said she would go over the classes with me when I come in to meet with her which I did the following week.
I met with her at Sanford Brown college in Atlanta, GA. Administration office within that meeting Ms. Hudgins said in the class rooms we would learn to do IV which was untrue as well. She went on and told me other untrue statements regarding what will actually take place in the class room. I asked her for the second time and stated I just wanted to be clear about the accreditation that the school is Regionally and Nationally accredited which I told her that when I looked up the school it said they were not regionally accredited but Nationally and this worried me that not all Colleges would accept credits. She again reinsured me that they gained their Regional accreditation and it was not listed yet.
She then steered me to the Medical Assistant classes which I was truly leaning on the Ultrasound class and she brought in Ms. Strange and further said how the class would bust me in my medical career and get my feet wet and I could go back later for Ultrasound and my Sanford brown credits would be transferred to their classes and lesson my time there.
So I joined up for the school and in my first semester after our 21 days we were able to withdrawal with no charge onto the student the truth started leaking out from the teachers. I was told and other students were told that the accreditation was incorrect and no credits from the school will be accepted anywhere due our classroom structure and time we are in the class and the time the class last. I heard a faculty member tell one of the teacher before he resigned in Oct. that he was telling the students to much information and the extra information given out was not allowed and not for us to know.
I have wrote in three of my semester appraisals lack of accurate information that was given to me and the rest of the students. I have talked to three teacher, one admission administrator, the administrator director twice, and Ms. Strange which she called me today at 2:35 p.m. May 29th. I have called the financial aid department which I have gotten the run around and the head office and received the same. The only answers they have given me was sorry for your experience and Ms. Hudgins is no longer there.

I was fraudulently lied to multiple times and brushed off with nothing done from this school, I do not feel this school should receive any FASFA funds or my Pell grant Funds. They should be looked into for legal matters for fraud and serious lie and deception to gain new student numbers.

They Did not find or help me locate a job i graduated in 2009 they have yet to help me find work, but I recently was contacted by them for another program that they offer. Sanford Brown Institute Administrators are never around

The problem with this institute is how administrators and teachers are not helping the students to get all what was promised at the time of registration. They have different teachers but they are not real ones. They have other types of backgrounds. One of them just goes to class and reads the book and after is the test. The new class just talks about her family and how she doesn't like Spanish or white people. That is all the class, no teaching. I hope that they can check the institute and classes how they are. Administrators are never around. Please take care of this business.

Sanford Brown Institute Bogus School STILL!

I wanted to do a follow up on my original complaint about Sanford-Brown Tampa Campus. My original post was in September of '09.
Every year the sonography director tells the incoming class they she is "working" on the certification for their lame program. She states "that's what's all over my desk" "if I look busy it's because I am trying my hardest to get this done for you". Oh yea, sooooo concerned about the cert. That was in '09. It is now Aug of 2011 and guess what. They still don't have any certification for sonography and won't ever. Lies, lies and more lies. From the top to the very lowest of the bottom feeders at any CEC owned school. My advice is still RUN as fast as you can.

For my 12 days of classes they ate my pell grant of $6, 500. I wound up paying $120.00 and still consider myself EXTREMELY lucky. The horror stories still go on with many many others not being as fortunate. Following is my original post.
The "school" no matter where you might attend is made up of professional smiles with people who have the sincerity depth of a childs wading pool. The games for me started the first week of class. I was not allowed to see my "admissions rep" as she had been warned I wanted to cancel out of the program. I sent letters of delivery confermation on 9/21/09 that were delivered on 9/22/09 I persoanlly cancelled my students loans via SallieMae and with the Pell grant review board. I am sure they did not do one thing after recieving my letters of intent but will continue to charge me a bill for only 3 weeks of class. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. Even the director of the DMS program is a lie and cheat. None of the campuses are certified with CAHEEP so even if you are one of the lucky ones they don't play games with along the way you still CAN NOT sit for the ARDMS which is the certification for sonographers in the US. Go read the prerequsites from the ARDMS web site for yourself. I got out early and will consider what ever bill they send me a godsend to have gotten out of the "school" at any cost. I'm speaking of the Tampa campus. Hostile employees, even more hostile are the admission reps and the head of that DMS department. Can you spell Cee yoU Next Tuesday cause it's a real runny mess. How their admission reps sleep at night is way beyond me. Again. DO NOT WATSE YOUR MONEY OR TIME on any campus. In 2007 the company that owns them, CEC, had to pay out over 450K in fines to the federal gov't for their gross infractions.. It doesn't take an idiot to smell the disaster that awaits you at ANY campus.. Buyer be ware!

Now I am stuck with a bill that is 11, ooo Dollars how am i supposed to pay them back if they refuse to help me I suggest that no one waste their time studing medical billing unless you at least have an associates in Health Information Management and experince but how do you gain experince if no one wants to hire you. The other problem this school has is if you dont have enough college credits you are obligated to choose medical billling or Medical assiting it is alll bout the money its ashame the only thing i can do is speak to a lawer. I also belive that financial aid shoulnt loan Medical billing students unless they are going for an AA degree or a masters, bachelour degree

Sanford Brown Institute false accreditation

Sanford-Brown College is robbing students of money and hopes of getting a job in the future. This college is located all over the United States. The only reason students go to college is knowing that hard work and student loans will ensure a bright future down the road. Sanford-Brown portrays as a good college with good credits. This is definately not true. The purpose of attending college is to prepare students for the future and jobs they are striving to reach and to survive in our complex economy. Every student that has attended Sanford-Brown should be refunded every cent they have put forth due to this money that is just going to the pockets of crooks. This "so called" college should not receive accredidation and should be stripped of it's wrongdoing. Any lawyer should be interested in this case because justice needs to be served to these criminals. The College Board of Accreditation needs to open it's eyes and realize that this "institution of wasted time and money" should be subjected to fraud. Anybody interested in this complaint or who has fallen victim to this "### college", please speak up and tell your story.

Sanford Brown Institute Rip off

I work in the welfare reform field and have seen a parade of Sanford Brown Alumni coming through my office unable to find employment in their career focus. They have loans of 15K and more and receive no assistance from Sanford Brown as far as placement. Their placement preactices should be as strong as their recruitment practices. It is a money making racquet pure and simple. They target poor, unemployed women on welfare with promises of financial that lure them into taking thousands out in loans. They then ask their students for names and contact information of other poor, unemployed friends. The recruitment tactics are criminal. I actually know a recruiter, here in Milwaukee that has a GED, but was able to talk her self into a sales position with SB and now makes close to 100 grand in bonuses and commisions. Why? She is bi-lingual and able to target the women in her culture. Just criminal. Every opportunity I have, I try to steer these poor women to the state vocational colleges which are way less expensive and accredited. They also have very strong ties to the local labor market and work hard to assist their grads with placement assistance.

Sanford Brown Institute scam artists

The appointment with Stephanie lasted over 4 hours. It was reminiscent to buying a used car at the dealership. They call themselves academic advisors although what they really are is salespeople. They will try to find out all these personal details about your life to size you up and figure out a way to manipulate you to going to their school. I went in there interested in one program and they were trying to talk me into something else that I didn't even want to do. The prices for all of their programs are absolutely ridiculous. The whole atmosphere just felt as if I were surrounded by lying, soulless, money sucking vultures. To prey off of someone's hopes and dreams for a better life or a leg up in this world is to me just despicable. Your community college more than likely offers the same exact programs for what you are interested in and will cost a small fraction for what you will pay at any "vocational" school. Be careful out there when considering a private school. There are so many many scams and it's shameful that our government hasn't done anything about it yet.

Sanford Brown Institute Fraud

I attended the CVT program at Sanford Brown in Ft. Lauderdale. The admissions rep fraudulently represented the "after graduation" employment numbers, the accreditation of the school, and the school loan process. You do not learn the facts until after your money has been paid.

The admission reps receive a bonus when their students graduate. If you do not have the credits necessary to enroll in the program, the admission rep will find away to get you in…even illegally. Most people pass the courses regardless of whether you come to class or not. Grades are not given based on skill level. They are based on keeping the enrollment figures high.

Externships are not real. You are told that you will actually do the job of an echo tech. You will acquire real-life, experience to take to the job market. You will scan patients in a doctor’s office or hospital environment. What you actually encounter is very little scanning time and no experience. In some cases, students have not been allowed to touch the patients. Because the program is not accredited, you need 800 hours of externship to take the CCI Registry for Echocardiography (if you don’t have a Bachelor’s degree). The school will only insure you for 600 hours. The Externship sites know this and sign off on 800 hours. This is not legal. If you happen to have a site that is on the “up and up” and will not sign your paperwork, there is no way for you to take the Registry Exam. No one will hire you without the Registry.

The end result…unemployment with a $ 40, 000 school loan.

Several class-action suits have been filed. I am currently looking for a Florida attorney willing to take my case. There are several students from the CVT, Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound, Dental Assisting and Pharmacy Tech programs who attended the Ft. Lauderdale campus with the same result.

Sanford Brown Institute mad is hell

i started sanford brown in jan 09, i wasnt a first time college student i knew the experience that came along with school, and i know that when you are in school it should be a challenge there was not one day that i had to stress "o i have to study, they spoon fed us so much like basically giving us all the answers so for the test we just basically had to remember the answers ...so when i signed up my rep stalked me everyday even though he just spoke with me the day before and didnt tell me anymore info than the day before. i was in several classes with about 30 plus students and it was impossible to learn...on top of that the turn over rate of the staff is ridiculous, and at one point our program director was a teacher of customer service who had THE worst customer service skills, the class was out of control we didnt learn anything and we consantly complained and nothing happened. our president doesnt want to speak to her students even though since day one she said she has a open door policy so when there was a issue you go to speak to her she have you speak to someone else. i personally left her a voicemail and she had a brand new staff which was the new director of education contact me, and she was still in training and only been at the business for less than a week, so of course my issues didnt get resolved. i called the corporate and again my issues werent resvolved. i was on extern and i got a needle stick injury and guess what SBI didnt give me my proper paper work until a whole week later. o yeah while im on the subject, how about this the school has a "policy" that after 30 days of being enrolled in the school you MUST have your physical done, which includes a hepatitis test, as you all know it is a dangerous and non curable disease why were we already poking ppl in labs and come to find out that half of the school didnt have their labs and some ppl did have them but the stupid ### school lost them how can you loose ### in that small piece of ### place. so when its time for us to go to extern they start threating us if we dont have our physical papers in that we would not be able to attend school so mind you if you dont knw that most of their programs are 15 months so when it comes to the 13th month they want to act concerned for the physicals simply because the extern wont let us come be apart of their practice with out it...sanford brown makes of off 10 weeks and this is out of 30 students 99, 975.00 plus book fees and we have half the computers working, no student lounge, no heat, or ac on so to me that is a money making school and thats all they care about...they have students starting after 5 weeks for 7 different programs and thats just the day time...
