From July 10th -19th 2023, my mother (Anna Baker DOB 5/26/35) suffering from dementia visited Sanford Hospital. Every time we visit Sanford, there is always some “issue”. This time, since my mother was staying there for so long, I brought in three bottles of her supplements- an unopened bottle of "Bowel Mover", "Megasporebiotic" and and opened bottle of Premier Digest. All three expensive bottles were either stolen or thrown out by the pharmacy?, nurses? Or someone else.
I worked with a “patient advocate”- LeAnn Hovdenes- who was no advocate at all. I had to literally beg her for weeks to look into this. When she finally did get back with me, she said that I needed to provide proof that these were our/my supplements- as if I/we are the criminals- when Sanford stole or lost the expensive bottles.
I gave her prices and links to Amazon. She said that was “not good enough”. Why didn’t you say that in the first place! I have purchased these supplements for my mother for years now and I have many receipts. I gave them links to all of the receipts and websites, but their outdated software cannot open the links.
Then, LeAnn Hovdenes sent an email saying they would no longer work with me.
There was NO other email stating that they would no longer communicate with me. Dealing with this “patient advocate” was a total waste of my time. She was unfriendly and slow on the phone- as if she was on drugs- and now this. I’m getting used to this lack of professionalism at Sanford. I’m glad my mom is now in a nursing home so I no longer have to deal with Sanford, but I want my money back from the stolen expensive supplements.
Email from LeAnn Hovdenes:
As you have been advised of such several times,
Patient Relations will not be responding to further emails or phone calls regarding this matter.
Sincerely,
