I got a Sawgrass printer for sublimation in Jan 2022. The software you gotta use to print right through their print manager is the Sawgrass Creatove Studio. If you upload a design that YOU created and OWN, to print, you then can't download without Sawgrass putting their company watermark all over. There's zero option to not have that water mark. Essentially limiting owner use of their own design and watermarking it as property of Sawgrass. I reached out to Sawgrass and they said it's to allow loading to webpages without someone being able to steal the design, but Sawgrass not giving the option Essentially steals the design. They said I gotta pay a monthly fee to download my designs without the watermark. I already paid for the printer and gotta use their application to use the printer why do artists gotta pay an additional monthly fee to download designs we created and own. There needs to be an option built into the software that gives the option without having to pay extra money, since we gotta use this software.

Me and my partner got a Sawgrass Virtuoso SG1000 sublimation printer last year for 1,599 bucks. It was all good until we had to change the ink. The Sawgrass ink was way too expensive for us (like 500 bucks for 4 ink cartridges), so we went for a cheaper option (70 bucks for 4 ink cartridges). We knew it would void the warranty, but we didn't have a choice. We've been using the non-approved ink since April and everything was working fine until Sawgrass did a FIRMWARE update. After that, the printer wouldn't recognize the ink and it wouldn't print properly. We tried different software, but it only printed nozzle checks. We think Sawgrass did the update to force people to use their ink. We paid for the printer, so we should be able to use it however we want. We contacted customer support, but they didn't help us. They just sent us their agreements. We don't think it's fair that they can lock our printer just because we use a different brand of ink. We just want them to let us roll back the FIRMWARE update so we can use our printer again. It's not cool that we have a 1,599 dollar brick now.
