They were great
They were great. Nick walked us through the process and answered all questions. They made sure we understood the pros and cons and limits of a solar system. The install team was on time, and got it done in one day. They cleaned up great. The team was friendly and answered all our questions.
Solar is Freedom made it so easy for me to convert my farm to solar!
Solar is Freedom made it so easy for me to convert my farm to solar! The consultation was quick, informative, and SAFE ( zoom). The installation took no time at all, the staff were courteous and efficient and my questions are answered quickly. I am saving tons of money on my electricity and I love using renewables to do it! Definitely call them!
Awesome company to work with. They answered all my questions up front and more. The designed system is attractive and sized for maximum ROI. Installation was efficient and clean. I recently had a problem which they quickly diagnosed and fixed. Have recommended them to friends and family.
Great company , great service, If you have questions issues it is taken care of in a timely manner
We worked with Sonny and he is wonderful. He is professional, honest and very prompt. He answered every question we had honestly. Unfortunately for us we are not able to make this work do to our electric company having some ridiculous fees. If in the future things change we will definitely be calling Sonny or Solar is Freedom. Great company to work with.

Solar is Freedom provided great service and value. Installation was very efficient!
Great company; we worked with Kyle out of Cincinnati & he was thorough throughout the process & with follow up. Installation techs were great. Entire process was quick & seamless.
From sales to installation the process was exceptional. Was contacted by Alex every time something was supposed to happen and after it happened to make sure I was satisfied.
Alex was great to work with. Knowledgeable, professional, easy to work with, returns calls, answers questions. Great company from top to bottom
Could not be happier with the service and product received from Solar is Freedom!
Could not be happier with the service and product received from Solar is Freedom! Shelby explained everything that would happen in the process and it was flawless. Happy to say that we are two weeks in and making enough daily KWs to offset our entire bill, and it is December! They are a great bunch to work with and the numbers made this a no-brainer for me.
Karim K was our guy. He helped us as best he could. We are 27 panels installed. And yes our electric bill has gone down.

My husband was very interested in obtaining solar for our house in Louisville. I was very hesitant given the arrangements/permits/pricing that comes along with solar. Shelby helped ease us through the process. The initial call does seem scripted but it it to get to know you, your family and your wants and needs. The presentation was through zoom. Once we committed Shelby took care of our homeowners paperwork, zoning, electric company documents and stayed in contact with us the entire way. The guys who placed the panels and wiring were extremely respectful and helpful. Would absolutely recommend this company and Shelby to anyone who will listen

From the first call the experienced and helpful staff guided us through the process taking time to answer all of our questions. We never felt pressured to commit to anything. They kept us up to date through the entire process and were always easy to get ahold of if we had any further questions. I can't recommend this company highly enough! Andrew was super helpful. Solar is freedom really came through for us!
I had no initial out-of-pocket expenses and got the 30% tax break since I got my Panels installed in October
I had no initial out-of-pocket expenses and got the 30% tax break since I got my Panels installed in October . Since then I pay practically nothing for electric. The whole process had been very easy and painless. The installers were knowledgeable and on-time top include the electrician. Since my system has been installed I have Generated over 30 Mega Watts of Power that was put back into the electrical grid, which then lowered my electrical bill. Respectfully, *** Retired Master Sergeant

i LOVE MY SOLAR PANELS!
i LOVE MY SOLAR PANELS! I have no initial out-of-pocket expenses. I expect my costs to be about the same as my previous electric bill, until I pay it off. Then I will pay practically nothing for electric. Adam answered all of my questions patiently. (I ask a lot of questions.) The whole process has been very easy and painless. Installers were knowledgeable and on-time. The electrician followed the very next day. I am waiting for *** to show up and change my meter, but my current one is running backwards. There are tax credits this year, so everybody should convert to solar this year. No carbon footprint!

The best part of Solar is Freedom is the upper management team
The best part of Solar is Freedom is the upper management team. When issues arose, they responded personally to ensure that the issues were being addressed or fixed. We had a major hurdle with HOA, which I am fairly certain was really one 'vocal' person in the neighborhood. We got the approval for panels for one side of the house. This was a win because solar panels are not allowed as called out in the deed of restrictions for the neighborhood. After the first set of panels went up, we received a kickback from the HOA (neighbor) to move them to a different part of the house. Then, during the second visit from Solar is Freedom to move the panels, the company was contacted directly to NOT do anything. We were not contacted initially by the HOA (or the mystery neighbor). Finally, things were agreed upon and after the third trip to our home, the panels were installed. The situation written above shows the dedication that Solar is Freedom has with its customers and to solar. Each trip out is ~2.5 hours for them and the panel installers made three and the electricians made two. Being the first house in a neighborhood that frowns on solar panels is ... was a tough road. But with Solar is Freedmon's patience and help, maybe we opened the door for others to take advantage of solar energy. Things to know when getting started and if you have an HOA: 1 - Check the deed of restrictions. 2 - Call the HOA committee and get everything approved (in writing for a paper trail). Another note of worthiness is the competency and friendliness of the solar panel installers and electricians. They did amazing jobs and were very friendly to me and my family (my children wanted to watch them work). They also gave us details of how things work for our better understanding. They are all good crews.

Leaning on the recommendation of a knowledgeable and trusted family member, my wife and I made the big decision to take the plunge, so to speak, and "go solar", using Solar Is Freedom as our company of choice. Our motivation was twofold: 1) Saving money in regards to our electrical energy costs - both now and in the years to come, and; 2) Doing our part to "go green" and help the environment (we previously had a Geothermal heating/cooling system installed). Our 44 solar energy roof-mounted panels (the number of panels required is specifically tailored to your energy usage) were installed in late June this year, and the entire install job, as well as all electrical work, was completed in just one day! The installers and the electricians were all courteous, friendly, professional, and extremely thorough - when they left, other than our solar panels, one would have never even known they were there! We were, and continue to be, exceptionally satisfied with the job they did for us, and we have immediately begun to realize substantial energy cost savings! Lastly, a huge shout-out to our Sales Associate, Alex H - what a warm, respectful, and genuinely nice individual! From our initial phone contact to our truly fascinating Zoom presentation, to all follow-up texts, calls, emails, etc., Alex has cheerfully and expertly answered any and all of our questions and concerns, and has let us know emphatically that he is always just a phone call away! He has truly helped make this solar energy endeavor a remarkably pleasant, interesting, and positive experience! The fun factor is enhanced even more by accessing their app on our phone to track our daily/weekly/monthly solar production! To sum everything up, our experience with the Solar Is Freedom company has been nothing short of excellent, and I would enthusiastically and unequivocally recommend them for being your company of choice as well, if you decide, as we did, to "go solar!" *** Ohio

We've had panels since November 1st. So it's been a couple years now, and they're working and nothing is broken. However, we're moving and want to take the panels with us. I called the main support number to file a ticket to get a price for moving them, and to get a print out of what we would generate at our new home. (4/14/22) Rep's name was AJ. After a week I didn't hear anything so I called back (4/21/22) spoke to AJ again, he apologized and said someone would be contacting me soon. I received a email and call from Karim (4/28/22) and I explained we're moving and want to take them with us, our sales rep told us we could, and that it would run $100 a panel plus roof repair. This was in 2019, so I would assume prices have gone up some so I needed updated numbers and to schedule them to be moved. Couple days go by and he said he needs the site plan which I sent on 5/2/22. I followed up with him a couple of days later, and asked for a status update to which he said they're still working on it. I asked if they move a lot of panels to which he said they don't do it often but they do have customers that have had them moved. I finally received an email back from him after I tried calling in twice over the past couple of days with a proposal for new panels. I'm confused at this point why he's sending me a new proposal when all I want to do is move our existing setup. So after I emailed him, I received a reply that stated "We don't offer moving them" anymore, but he was trying to get an exception because our sales rep Evan told us (and it's also in our contract) that they would move them. He suggested selling them with the house and buying new solar panels. Why would I do that? So you're telling me you have the "bandwidth" to install new panels but not move our existing ones? We're in the process of packing, moving, and selling our home. I don't need this headache right now.
Purchased roof solar panels in May . Part of the contract says that if we need to remove them for roofing in order to maintain the warranty they must come uninstall and reinstall. They are also the ones to talk to the manufacturer regarding if the panels are under warranty for the damage. I spoke to Crystal at Solar is Freedom once and since then (8 days ago) she has not responded at all. I have storm damage and roofers waiting to start.
I contracted with Solar is Freedom to install a solar electric system in September. The system was completed around June. Upon completion I noticed the system readout only showed electric generated, not what was produced. This is typical of what the system shows that I had installed in Florida a year before. So I contacted Austin S with Solar is Freedom and voiced my concerns. He said consumption monitoring was extra, so I agreed to pay the extra amount. Since is was installed, it has not read correctly. In fact, the system states: System Error/ ! Meter Issue/ There is an issue with your gateway meter measurments/There is an issue with your gateway meter measurements. Contact your maintainer for help. Solar is Freedom I have contacted them multiple times in the past year. They came out several times, but the problem has not been fixed. I have heard they are very busy and will get to it when they can, that they cannot figure out the problem. That they have a new service department and will be out soon... yet I am still waiting. At one point they mentioned refunding the cost. I contacted the manufacturer, they said it is up to the installer to correct the problem. One installer mentioned if it is connected improperly, I could be paying the electric company for electric I am generating. This is concerning, I was told I would be reimbursed for any such expenses. Yet I have no idea how that would be measured. I have paid in full for an operating system, yet to date I do not have a correctly operating system. I would like to see the system operate as designed. If they cannot make the system operate as designed, I would prefer the sytem be removed, building repaired and a complete refund. In a REASONABLE amount of time.

We installed 16 solar panels in feb 2021 got them running in April things ok except a couple power surges in May n June then issues with system in July was normal but backed to mot working correctly by end July. A panel which was our top 1 or 2 producer is now our worse producer maybe doing half of the others. Was told it's inverter problem. And since June told it be about 4 weeks for someone and no one out yet to look at. Last few months no phone call returns no text returns and now the email don't work. Our resolution. We would like is to get out of contract have them remove the panels and out of loan also. $16,000 some odd dollars. Don't want to do buisness with company like this.

We negotiated a completely off-grid stand-alone solar-powered system for my home
We negotiated a completely off-grid stand-alone solar-powered system for my home. During the negotiations they removed important parts that rendered the stand-alone potion useless without adequately explaining the ramifications of the removal. They delayed the final inspection past the three-day window even though I was seeking clarifications. I received clarification as an aside from the inspector who informed me that my proposed system would not meet my requirements. At that time I contacted Solar is Freedom with a written and emailed Cease and Desist letter. They attempted to Upsale me to restore the items previously taken away. Had they been upfront there would never have been a sale to begin with.

I have completed part one of my ComplaintsBoard.com complaint
I have completed part one of my Complaintsboard.com complaint. Solar is freedom has the original contract with us that states I will have monitoring service for the warranty period of my solar panels for 25 yrs. In the switch from 3g to 5g I am finding out that the company that does the service says its only monitoring until 2028. I was told I needed to purchase a new modem for $583. See attached original complaint. Solar edge sent me a new 5g modem at no charge, but I have to have Solar is Freedom install the modem. Solar is freedom was sent all the information in March and April and there has been no response from them. I need them to install my new 5g modem at no charge and honor the agreement we signed in May for 25yrs of monitoring service, not just until 2028. Thank you for your help

In March I contacted Enphase the manufacturer of microinverters installed by Solar is Freedom, to send a replacement for a nonworking inverter and they shipped one at end of that month to Solar is freedom. I called Enphase and they confirmed it was sent. In May I sent and email to Greg L asking when it would be installed. This is someone I have exchanged some emails with in past-no reply, although this has been his pattern. On October 1, I contacted the president Toni R to inform him my problem had not been addressed and another inverter had now gone bad. He did reply to that email but no action was taken. On Jan 9 I sent Mr. R another email to which he also replied but I have never been contacted about having the work completed. I have lost money as result of nonworking equipment (loss of energy production) I have also (twice) been promised compensation for such losses due to delays but have never asked for any -but I feel I am due this now because of the extreme delay (one year) involved and the effort required to get service. I want both microinverters replaced immediately.

After a year of waiting for warranty service and battery installation
After a year of waiting for warranty service and battery installation. I continue to be pushed off and have been more than accommodating. I spent over $50,000 dollars on this installation and expect more from my investment and the warranty from SolarIsFreedom. I also have been waiting for batteries this year and have been continually pushed off. I myself, have a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and could have completed this project on my own for less money and way less hassle. I chose them, because of their warranty that I expected to have fulfilled. I am very dissatisfied and have multiple emails and texts from the company showing how they have repeatedly pushed me off. I have been very accommodating with my schedule, but they have even sent employees out to my house without my knowledge, while I was gone and my neighbor had to see who they were and what they were doing on my property. They then borrowed my neighbor's phone to call me and ask me where I hide my spare house key for them to do work inside my house while I was on vacation. I typically work from home and have made myself very available for them to finish the work anytime that I am home. They have lacked in professional communication and courtesy.

On Feb 1st 2021 I contacted Solar is Freedom, and a sales rep called & emailed me back
On Feb 1st 2021 I contacted Solar is Freedom, and a sales rep called & emailed me back. I got all the information I needed, or so I thought. ***, the sales rep, sent a report stating the breakdown of the cost which included a 26% tax credit of $9,251.27. I am not an accountant, and am also a recent widow. I state this because I did not know that a tax credit is based on your income. ***, repeatedly, led me to believe that I would received $9,251.27 credit at the end of the year. I even called him on purpose before signing the contract, to ask him again about the tax credit. He reiterated that I would receive a check for the amount at the end of the year. He never once mentioned income or anything else, so I believed him and signed the contract. Fast forward many months when I contact my accountant for 2021 taxes and tell her about the the tax credit. I am then informed that what *** told is not true. I am on Social Security and do not qualify for the tax credit! When I called *** about this his only reply was that they never give tax advice. I believe that the system was sold to me under false pretense and now will have to pay almost twice the monthly amount of the system, as I will not be getting any, or a very small tax credit. Unfortunately most of my conversations were via telephone, but attached are documents stating the above.

We had our solar panel system moved from our previous residence to a home we purchased 12/31
We had our solar panel system moved from our previous residence to a home we purchased 12/31. We had no issues with our first home and were assured there would be no damage to the roof upon moving the system. The roof on our current residence was 2 years old and came up with no issues upon inspection. February we experienced a large leak in the roof directly underneath where the panels were located. Solar is Freedom sent technicians out who determined the leak was due to the installation and had the leak as well as the ceiling stain fixed. This February 2022 we had 2 new leaks arise again, directly under the solar panel system. Upon looking in the attic there was water coming from 2 large metal screws that were identical to the one that was leaking the year before. Additionally, the patch job from the original leak was still letting water in but did not come through the ceiling due to a bucket we had left underneath it. We now have 3 active leaks in our roof, all corresponding with screws mounting the solar panels to the home. I have tried contacting Solar is Freedom for 2 weeks with no response. I have called and left messages, emailed, texted the sales representative who helped us before, with no response. I would like to speak to someone at Solar is Freedom about a timeline for addressing these leaks and the staining in our ceiling as we were assured there would be no damage from the installation.

We bought a 29-panel system with an Encharge 10 Battery Backup Ensemble
We bought a 29-panel system with an Encharge 10 Battery Backup Ensemble. The system was installed on the 10th and 11th of January 2022. It was commissioned and went on the grid on the 11th of January as well. Since then 11 panels have never reported or produced electricity. The service department will not respond to my requests by phone or email. The sales rep, *** will not respond to my requests for help. I have already warned my 3 referrals to go somewhere else. I had also requested that the system be wired to connect to my backup generator, to which the "Master Electrician" said that was a future function, not available now due to firmware and software. Enphase, the equipment manufacturer, has informed me that is an option available now and has been since July . The electric water heater was supposed to be under the software load management, but that too hasn't worked since installation. A Soft Start interface was to be installed to lessen the load upon activation of the Air Conditioner, to lessen the load drain on the battery backup. It too has not been installed. Once the system is "Installed" the finance company is authorized, per the purchase agreement, to pay them immediately. It doesn't have to be functional for them to be paid. They have already received payment of $55,831 for the system, yet it still fails to function as requested and designed. Enphase looked at the system through their software internet connection and said that it must be wired incorrectly. Something that needs to be corrected onsite, not remotely through software.

Had Solar is Freedom install a solar panel system on my house in Nov '22. All is well, then this past week get a letter that the company has filed bankruptcy and will cease to exist.
This impacts the service to my system as well as the warranty. What recourse if any do I have?

I felt the best insurance I had is that they have been in business I believe 6 years and have NO complaints. That's amazing. Rated one of the top 5 companies in the US. Use LG panels. Good customer relations, always a human ANSWERS the phone. Karim is great.
We love our new solar panels. We are saving on our electric *** and Solar is Freedom was great to work with. They installed our system in just a few hours and it works great. We cut out electric *** by more than half.
I was told the install would be done at the beginning of August and here it is almost 2 months later and its still not done. They dont stay in contact to let you know whats going on. The last I heard from them was August 23 and then nothing.
