Cost you more money in the end
Purchased trans from SS. Installed. Didn’t work properly, metal shavings everywhere, more time in shop. Asked for a refund for my trans AND a refund on some of the labor. They said yes we can do that. Talked to a different employee and they said they can’t refund any labor they caused me. If you want to end up losing out on more of your hard earned money over a crap non working transmission from this company, then buy one from them. If you want to save yourself money and deal with a company that actually cares about customers, go elsewhere. They should have stood by their word in the first place to refund part of the labor. Absolute disgrace.
Recommendation: Do not purchase anything from this company. Buy your transmission elsehwere

WELL I CALLED THEM 07/14 WHICH IS WAY MORE THEN THE TIME THEY SAID IT WOULD TAKE. AND THEY COULDNT ANSWER ME WHERE MY ORDER WAS. I TALK TO SEVERAL PEOPLE AND NO ONE HAD AN ANSWER. THEY FINALLY EMAILED ME INSTEAD OF CALLING 8 HOURS LATER. THEY SAID THE CORE THEY HAD WAS BAD AND THEY WERE SORRY AND WOULD REFUND MY MONEY. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE...WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE IN THE CAR BUSINESS...

My Street Smart transmission was installed over two weeks ago and is performing well. The shifts are more firm than the original which makes me wonder if a shift kit was installed during the remanufacture process. If so, I am ok with that.After the transmission was installed ,there was a fluid leak. There was about a teaspoon of oil on my driveway every day. This has improved since until now I believe the leak has stopped completely.I guess the seal conditioning additive in the high mileage fluid did it's job.Obviously I don't know what the future will bring ,but so far I am satisfied with this transmission and your company.

I put in a warranty ticket with Street Smart and they sent me a replacement. I had this installed by the dealership ($917.63). Now the car runs great. So the only difference was a bad valve body Street Smart sent me and a lot of money out of my pocket. I doubt very seriously that Street Smart is going to cover the first bill or even refund my original purchase. I would say find out, IN ADVANCE, what they will do if they send you a bad part.

Definitely one of the absolute best companies I have had the pleasure of doing business with in several years. From order placement to core return, I have had nothing but 100% professional service. Fair price, quality workmanship, faster than quoted delivery, and quick and easy core return. I was very impressed with the customer service as well. A few friends were saying; "How can trust them?", "I've never heard of a mail order system like this" It did seem a little too good to believe, until the trans was delivered with total directions for me and the mechanic. We ordered a 5R55S trans from Street Smart and everything went great. It took 4 week to get but we were told this at the beginning. When we received the trans it came with a fill tube, tool normally $20 to buy, that was cool. The trans was swapped and it is working great, my son is thrilled. I have a 2009 Chevy Tahoe
I have a 2009 Chevy Tahoe. I had been quoted about $6,950 for a new transmission. I also had companies quote me around $3,000 to rebuild replacing "consumable parts" only, which means they disassemble and then tell you it will cost much more to replace other damaged parts, and once they have the transmission apart you have little choice. Then I found Street Smart, which had a better warranty than a new transmission. I ordered 5/18/2022 and the repair shop (in Houston TX) received the transmission 5/27/2022. My car was repaired on 6/1/2022. All in the cost was $3,927.78. I used a Street Smart recommended shop near my house. So far, after driving for 250+ miles all is perfect. I highly recommend Street Smart, fantastic value and overall experience.

Normally I don't do reviews however in this instance I felt it important to do so. Why? Because the experience I had with Street Smart was one of the BEST I could ever hope to have. I made several calls prior to purchasing my remanufactured transmission and the people I spoke with were kind, courteous, answered every question, and not once pressured me. When I ordered the transmission it was received in 4 days exactly as described. The return was as simple as it can get. The installed transmission worked flawlessy and I rest easy knowing the warranty is hands down the best on the market. Unfortunately for a customer to find this type of service these days extremely rare. I HIGHLY recommend Street Smart Transmission and should I ever need another transmission they are the first place I will go to.

Highly Efficient Professional Company I purchased a vehicle and within 118 miles of driving the transmission failed. I was able to negotiate a decent settlement with the dealership. Did some research over the internet came across Street Smart Transmission. Seen they were highly rated on the ComplaintsBoard.com and there were a number of favorable reviews. Ordered a transmission and it was shipped out the same day to my mechanic who installed it upon its arrival. Purchased on Friday before the Memorial Day weekend and the transmission arrived in Ohio Tuesday morning. The whole process was easy and Street Smart Transmission communicated very well and very efficiently. This whole process turned a negative situation into a very positive experience. Would highly recommend this company to others. Very pleased with their professionalism.

I had never heard of Street Smart Transmissions before needing their help for a replacement transmission. But They offered a Remanufactured Transmission for a car I love an old 2001 Toyota 4Runner with a V-6 that has never given me a day of concern. As I looked for an A340F Transmission I noticed that Street Smart offered a 3 Year Parts and Labor Warranty, they had a No Mileage limit on that Warranty, No Up Front Core Charge and Shipping both ways was included. Since they didn't have it in Stock I had to wait for it, BUT they met every deadline that they laid out for the project. The transmission arrived at the Transmission shop, so clean that it looked new.
The original engine running great at 250,000 miles used that one transmission the entire time. I'm hoping the new remanufactured transmission will do the same.

If I could give 10 stars I would! This company was my second choice and I wish I would have made them my first. I had a horrible experience with another company who took over 3 weeks before I cancelled the order because it still hadn't shipped. I only went with the other company first because they were a bit cheaper but now I see why. STREET SMART was the complete opposite! And we'll worth the extra couple bucks! Charla was super helpful from The start and got me the information I needed quickly, and to top it all off, she had my order shipped within 24 hours! Also, note that their warranty also includes labor for a swap (if needed) whereas the other company did not! I got my transmission delivered in roughly 5 business days from the time I placed the order. Absolutely incredible. And to top it all off; literally and figuratively; they included the necessary two cases of ATF fluid. These guys will take great care of you, and we're well worth the slightly higher price. They were far from the highest price though. 2nd cheapest that I found and again, don't get "A TRANSMISSION" just because it's cheaper. Thanks again STREET SMART!

I own a 2017 traverse which as I have found out is notorius for having trasmission issues. I have had the suv for two years and I though we were having computer issues, well turns out my trasnmission was going out. The local shop wanted over $6000.00 and there was no way we could swing that at this time. I am married to a heavy diesel mechanic and one so he had a friend look into getting a remanned one and it was still way over budget. I told him let me look into it (I used to be a parts manger years ago) I hopped on the internet and Found streetsmart. With in five minutes Niki had given me a quote with shipping and delivery estimate and how to find shops around the area to deliver it to so we could pick it up (other wise it would e a fee for delivery). It took a few weeks but was delivery on time as promised. My husbands work schedule got hectic and we were a little delayed getting the core back and Niki was very good about communication. and then we had a small issue getting it picked up at the shop but that was neither Streetsmarts fault nor the shops fault. I called Niki and she had it fixed with in a few hours. All in all I highly Reccomend this company for overall price, customer service, Honesty, communication and making sure you a satisfied.

My 2008 E350XLT transmission starting giving me trouble about 8 months ago. Well fast forward, and my family and I are preparing for a road trip and I need the trans fixed. I called around locally and most quotes to R&R the trans were around $4000-$4300. I decided to look online because I felt like I was getting the run around. One outfit wanted to charge me $4100 with a 60 day warranty for a used transmission. At a minimum, I was looking for a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. I did a search online and found StreetSmart. I entered my vin # and received a quote for $2025. The other outfit wanted $2750 for a USED one! Streetsmart doesn't even charge you for the core unless (and correct me if I'm wrong,) you don't send back the old trans in a reasonable time. Look, long story longer, I purchased the trans on Friday the 19th of May and it was delivered the 25th of May. I waited longer to schedule the install than to receive it from Strretsmart. And the return shipping was even easier. Going to the grocery store is more complicated than this whole thing was. The new 4R75E is a dream, smooth as silk. I'd forgotten how nice it was to have a new trans. I will refer everyone I know to these folks. Absolutely the best. Thank you Streetsmart, for a flawless experience. Semper Fi, Brad Romero.

This company is the best!
This company is the best! I had been looking at the transmission on their website for about 6 months. I had sent in my info for a quote SEVERAL times and it was always the same And the cheapest with the best warranty until the day I FINALLY was able to scrape the $ together. I sent for a quote one last time and then the quote sent to my email was $395.00 more than what it had been for the previous 6 months! I had called a couple times in between quotes also to ask different questions as well, well the day the quote was 395 bucks higher I called them right away and told Lara that I finally had the money and that I had been looking at this transmission for several months and that I couldn't come up with another 395.00 until a few more months. She kindly asked me to hold and spoke with her supervisor, she came back to the line and told me that they can see that I had the previous quote sent to me several times including very recently and that they would honor the previous price! I was AMAZED! So bing bang boom, got payment made, transmission arrived about 10-12 days later with fluid as promised. In the 10-12 days waiting for it to come in my mother had an unexpected hospitalization so while rehabilitating her at home the mechanic had an unexpected illness as well, so it got to be about 2 weeks after delivery when I realized I hadn't scheduled for the core pick-up yet so I called right away and they told me not to worry that they were noting my account and that I shouldn't worry about it, to call and schedule whenever I was able. A full month later I called to schedule core return. Well all said and done, the new(reman) transmission is In my car and is running well! I am so happy to be on the road again! Thank you to everyone at Street Smart Transmission! I have recommended you guys to everyone I know! I wish more companies would follow your lead and do business the way it used to be done like you guys!

Well, unfortunately, my experience is far from a good one, and what is funny about it is that I choose this company exactly because of the good reviews. I received last Tuesday for the third time a rebuilt TCM from your shop and this unit worked fine without any trouble. The first time that I hired your services you guys sent me back my own TCM rebuilt and after my Trans was completed rebuilt as well, the gears were having trouble shifting. The Trans builder told me the problem was still with the TCM. I sent an email to your shop addressed to Ashley and Katie, explaining what is going on, and you guys asked me to send back my TCM again telling me that there is nothing wrong with my unit, it was tested and was completed rebuilt, but should be the same because " ...This was originally a r+r order as the programming for your vin is not available. You would have to send your back in to be remanufactured again... " I have to believe in that information and even with my request to be sent another unit I have to send back my own TCM unit again(second time), which means no truck for other weeks till getting back, get back to trans shop line to re-install and surprise the same issue, TCM not shifting the gears properly. Unfortunately, I decided and choose at that time to believe in your shop and expertise instead to believe in the trans shop and since then I am living a nightmare keep fighting and arguing with the manager for months, telling him that there was something wrong with the building process of the Trans. During this process, my truck was unavailable for at least 7 weeks total and I had an emotional breakdown caused for all this fighting and arguing and stress caused. I am Handyman, so my truck is the extension of my business. After a few months keep going back and forward in this mass and still believing in your shop I decided to send an e-mail to the General Manager of the Trans shop, who invited me to bring my truck to another facility and get analyzed for his "best guy", his words. They dissembled the whole trans unit again, for the third time, by the way, replaced everything that was burned because of the failure of the TCM and not a surprise anymore, the TCM didn't work as should be, he told me that I need to replace the TCM, cost of $1200 and if I decided to leave the shop driving my car he will have to void my warranty. I sent 3 e-mails describing this nightmare to your shop and nobody had the dignity to answer me with a reasonable explanation or apologize about this mass. The General Manager from the Trans shop run the extra mile, probably with the hope to get rid of me and my truck, have to call your shop and explain everything that I mentioned in my 3 emails that nobody answered, and fill the warranty claim in order to be shipped another TCM unit other than my original one, funny is that time you guys were able to program the unit using my VIN number, what was not available when I asked for the second rebuilt. The third unit was installed and runs good but can you imagine how disappointed I was and ashamed by the fact to have been arguing with the wrong end of the problem all this time, I am lucky that the Trans shop kept the warrant and didn't charge me for all the 3 times that they had to rebuild my Trans because of the problems caused by a bed TCM, burning the clutches, torque converter and so on. Considering all this I sent 2 requests to Ashely, 1st. the label from UPS to send back my core to your shop and not be charged for, and second evaluate to charge back the money that I paid for the TCM considering all kinds of trouble that I faced because of the bad quality of the service rendered and all troubles related. Again another disappointment, instead of receiving an apology or something like that, Ashley started to ask me without at least a good afternoon or anything polite like that for pieces of information that I already sent in my last e-mail, she askes like..." the unit was installed ?...", "... it's working properly ?..." I was obliged to suggest that she should read my complaint first, pretty sure looks like she was building my answers to tell me something like if it's working know whatever. I am an old school guy and do not feel seduce to solve things through social media, I prefer to have a direct conversation with everyone involved, I understand that sometimes things go south but all of this could be avoided if you guys have a good customer service with polite people who really care about it and had listened to my request to send another unit. I had to apologize in person to the Manager of the original store and especially with the General Manager of the Trans shop, they were right since day one. It was a very embarrassing and stressful situation.

Now for some reason the traction control no come on and today 03/20 its raining the transmission its affect the performance in the car probably they give me a transmission with a lower differential ratio probably 2.89 no the one my other transmission has. At this point its 2 problem. If for any reason I have to take the transmission out I want for this business paide me for the 2 transmission I have to take out of my car. I don't know if for any reason in the shipping process the torque converter get switched or any other parts I paid 1890 for the transmission
