Mixed Experiences with Spring Hill Nursery
As someone deeply passionate about gardening, I understand the importance of reliable nurseries. Spring Hill Nursery has garnered mixed reviews from customers. While some have praised the variety and quality of their plants, others have expressed dissatisfaction with their service. Issues such as delayed deliveries, poor plant conditions upon arrival, and challenges with refunds have been highlighted. It's crucial to approach purchases from Spring Hill Nursery with caution and manage expectations accordingly. As you explore their offerings, keep in mind the diverse experiences shared by fellow gardeners. Remember, a successful garden starts with healthy plants and reliable service.
Very disappointed with plants
They were so small
I got credit for one plant already but I am disappointed in my honeysuckle plant especially. The roots are so shallow
I had to cut all three plants back severely. The allium bulbs and the fertilizer I was please with

I ordered two items from this company, Crocosmia autumn bulbs and a pink Salvia in February 2022 and knew they probably would be sent separately as one is for autumn, one for summer. However as at May 5th both were on back order and when I called them I was asked to call again at the end of May. This of course is after already contacting them a couple of times by email. How can the salvia be on back order as its a summer plant? The customer service rep was helpful but far away in another country and so not knowing when I will get my order I have cancelled it. I have received info that Id get refund within 5-7 days but emails states 30 days. So I await with baited breath that I will get my money back. However, Id like to say, how can these flower companies do this to themselves by not honoring whats stated in their catalogues? They are not the only company who make false claims in their adverts. Im very leery now about what company I will now use.
Purchased a Meyer Lemon plant for a Mother’s Day gift based on very attractive ad
Purchased a Meyer Lemon plant for a Mother’s Day gift based on very attractive ad. Cost was over $90 including shipping. Very disappointed to receive what is essentially a large seeding that looks nothing like what was advertised. No flowers or fruit in sight. Will never order anything from this company again!
Mixed Experience with Spring Hill Nurseries: Great Shipping, Poor Customer Service
I recently made an order for some plants from Spring Hill Nurseries and had them shipped to the northeast. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they don't just use zip codes like other online plant companies do, but they actually shipped my plants during the winter season when there was snow on the ground. I received my spring perennial plants in March, right in the middle of the snow season.
However, I did have some issues with their customer service. I sent them an email inquiring about reshipment, but they couldn't seem to get my name right even though it was clearly stated in the email. I sent several follow-up emails asking for a shipment date, but I never received a response. Frustrated, I decided to call their number, which unfortunately wasn't an 800 number.
To my surprise, their call center was located in the Philippines. I found it strange that an Ohio-based company wouldn't hire locals to answer their phones. Nonetheless, I was able to speak to someone who informed me that they were unable to provide me with any information via email.
As of now, I am still waiting for my plants to arrive. Since I haven't received any viable plants that could be planted, I have no idea if the quality of the plants is as bad as their customer service. Overall, I am disappointed with my experience with Spring Hill Nurseries and hope that they can improve their customer service in the future.
Disappointing Experience with Spring Hill Nurseries: A Review
I recently placed an order with Spring Hill Nurseries (springhillnursery.com) for 2 Blue Zebra Primroses and a Vialii Primrose back in March. I was eagerly anticipating their arrival, but when they finally did arrive on 3-27, I was quite disappointed. One of the Blue Zebras was a sad little thing with only one leaf, while the other had three leaves. I had to pot them up because they were too weak to be put in the ground. The stronger one is growing and trying to flower, but the other is still just a sad little leaf.
In addition to the Blue Zebras, I also ordered 3 Lenten Roses. Unfortunately, they also arrived looking battered and weak. You can see the damaged older leaves in the attached photo. I decided to put them in pots as well, and while they are doing better than the Primroses, they still aren't thriving like I had hoped. As for the Vialii, it hasn't shipped yet, and based on what I've seen in other reviews, I'm not feeling very optimistic.
I've been gardening for 40 years now, and I have to say that I've never had such a bad experience with a company. I was really excited to order from Spring Hill Nurseries, but now I regret it. I wish I had listened to my gut and not been swayed by their slick catalog. What you see isn't always what you'll be getting, and that's definitely the case with this company.
Overall, I would strongly advise against ordering from Spring Hill Nurseries. If I could give them a minus rating, I would. Save yourself the disappointment and look elsewhere for your gardening needs.
Disappointing Experience with Spring Hill Nurseries: Dead Plants and Frustrating Customer Service
I recently had an experience with Spring Hill Nurseries that left me feeling quite disappointed. I placed an order for some plants, but unfortunately, when they arrived, most of them were dead. The bare root plants were particularly disappointing, as they were just a stick with no roots. I was really hoping for healthy plants to add to my garden, but instead, I was left with a bunch of dead sticks.
To make matters worse, I had used a "replacement certificate" to place my order, but when the shipment arrived, the amounts didn't add up to the certificate value. I called customer service to try to sort things out, but they kept telling me that I had used up the entire certificate. I tried to explain that the numbers didn't add up, but they just couldn't seem to understand what I was saying.
Eventually, I was issued a replacement certificate for two more plants, which I used to place another order along with my AmEx for the remainder. However, when I checked the Spring Hill Nurseries website, the order didn't show up. I called customer service again, and the lady I spoke to told me that there was no order, but one of the plants I had ordered was no longer in my cart. I was so frustrated at this point that I used the word "damn" in a sentence, which seemed to offend her horribly.
I asked to speak to a supervisor, but he wasn't much help either. He kept telling me that I had done something wrong when placing my order, but I couldn't understand how that could be possible if my AmEx had been charged. It was a really frustrating experience, and I don't think I'll be ordering anything from Spring Hill Nurseries or their associated companies again.
Overall, I was really disappointed with my experience with Spring Hill Nurseries. I had hoped to find healthy plants to add to my garden, but instead, I received mostly dead ones. The customer service experience was also quite frustrating, as they didn't seem to understand my concerns and were unable to help me resolve the issues I was having. In the future, I'll be sticking with my local nursery for all of my gardening needs.
Disappointing Experience with Spring Hill Nurseries: Slow Shipping and Poor Quality Trees
I bought some trees from Spring Hill Nurseries last spring, on April 21st and May 21st. Unfortunately, seven out of the ten trees I ordered died. I think this was mainly due to the very slow shipping. I was really disappointed, so I called Spring Hill to ask for replacements in August 2021. They told me that they had the trees in stock, but that I couldn't get replacements until the spring. They said they would issue a "replacement certificate" instead, but I told them I didn't want a credit certificate. They told me to call back in February or March 2022 to cancel the certificates and get the trees replaced.
So, I called them back on March 22nd, but they told me that I would have to reorder using the "replacement certificate" credit. I couldn't get the trees replaced, and I couldn't cancel the certificates. This was really frustrating, because even though it sounds reasonable, the certificates don't refund the shipping costs. This means that if I reorder with the certificates, I'll have to pay for shipping again.
I used to think that Spring Hill Nurseries was a good and reputable company, but not anymore. They're shipping very poor quality nursery stock, and if you want to get any of your money back, you're stuck having to order from them again. My original tree order cost $178.63 plus shipping, which is a lot of money to spend on something that didn't work out. I hope that Spring Hill will improve their shipping and customer service in the future, because I don't want anyone else to have the same experience that I did.
Spring Hill Nurseries Review: Dead Plant, Late Delivery, and No Refund Policy
I recently made a purchase from Spring Hill Nurseries on 03/14/22 for $55.55. I was really excited to receive my order, especially the "CLEMATIS AMARANTHINE #***" item that I had been eyeing for a while. However, I was disappointed to find out that it wasn't shipped until July 6th, which was almost four months later!
To make matters worse, the item was delivered on 7/14, which was eight days after it was shipped. When I opened the box, I was shocked to see a wilted plant with dead leaves at the bottom of the box. I was hoping that the plant would recover, but unfortunately, it remained dead even after a week.
I reached out to Spring Hill to request a refund, but they refused to offer one. They claimed that they do not offer refunds, even when the issue is a direct result of their negligence. I was really disappointed with their response, especially since the plant was clearly dead on arrival.
Overall, my experience with Spring Hill Nurseries was a complete disaster. I received a dead stick instead of a healthy plant, and their customer service was unhelpful and deceitful. I would not recommend doing business with them, as they are a ripoff and do not stand behind their products.
Disappointing Experience with Spring Hill Nurseries: Poor Packaging and Delayed Shipping
I recently had an experience with Spring Hill Nurseries that left me feeling quite disappointed. I had placed an order for seven plants, but unfortunately, the shipping date was delayed for so long that it was too late for me to plant the bare root specimens. As a result, I had to cancel most of my order.
To make matters worse, the bare root roses that I did receive were not packaged properly. There was no moist material around the roots, which is standard practice for growers. Instead, the plants were simply slipped into a loose, unsealed plastic bag and placed inside a shipping carton with no padding. As a result, the plants had advanced sprouting that was blanched from lack of sunlight, indicating that they had been held in a warehouse for some time prior to shipping.
To make matters even worse, one of the plants had several roughly broken major roots that were clearly old wounds, not from shipping. One of the broken roots was even rotting. It was clear to me that this plant should never have been shipped out in this condition.
I was quite disappointed with my experience with Spring Hill Nurseries. It seems that the only reason they did not pack the roots with something to keep them moist was to save on shipping costs. While I understand the desire to save money, it is not worth risking the health and well-being of the plants. I will not be buying plants from this company again.
Disappointing Experience with Spring Hill Nurseries: Delayed Shipping and Missing Plants
I recently made an order on Spring Hill Nurseries website on April 1st. I was excited to see that all of the plants I wanted were available, but when I saw that the shipping date was not until May 2nd, I was a little disappointed. I thought maybe it was because of the weather, but I was still looking forward to receiving my order.
On May 4th, I decided to check the tracking to find out when my order would arrive. To my dismay, the date got pushed back until May 22nd. I was frustrated and decided to call customer service to complain and ask why the date was pushed back if the items were available. The representative told me that it was because of the planting date in my area, which I thought was bull. I had already ordered dahlias from another company on April 1st, and they were already up and growing. When I told the representative that I wanted to cancel my order, she said they would put a rush on it.
Three days later, a box arrived on my doorstep. I was excited to finally receive my order, but when I opened it, there was only one dahlia in the box that was supposed to have more dahlias and other plants. I was disappointed and frustrated. I just noticed on the invoice that all of the other plants would arrive by May 31st. I called customer service again, and they told me that the shipping date was pushed back until June 7th. By now, my other dahlias will have set blossoms, and I am disappointed that I won't be able to enjoy them.
I had hoped that Spring Hill Nurseries would be my new go-to place to buy online plants, but this experience has been ridiculous. The shipping dates keep getting pushed back, and I am not receiving the plants that I ordered. I hope that they can improve their shipping and customer service in the future.
Mixed Feelings About Spring Hill Nurseries: Great Customer Service, Misleading Advertising
I've been a customer of Spring Hill Nurseries for quite some time now, and while I've had some issues with the quality of their plant stock in the past, I have to give them credit for their customer service. Whenever I've had a complaint about a plant that didn't meet my expectations, they've always been quick to make things right. They'll either send out a better plant or refund my money if the plant is diseased or not going to survive for some reason. That's definitely a plus in my book.
However, I have to say that I was pretty disappointed with a recent purchase I made from them. They sent me an email promoting a limited number of premium size bare root plants that were almost twice the price of their standard stock. The photos they included in the email looked really promising, so I decided to order several of them.
They gave me an expected ship date, but when that date came and went without any word from Spring Hill, I decided to check my order status on their website. That's when I discovered that all of my "limited availability" plants were backordered by several weeks. It was clear that this was not stock they had on hand, and it was not stock that was actually limited availability. It was just normal bare root plants that they were ordering from their usual sources.
I have to say, I felt a little misled by their ad pitch. It was all BS, and I'm not sure what to expect when my plants finally arrive. I don't have high expectations at this point, but I'll be interested to see if they're actually premium plant stock like they claimed.
Overall, I have mixed feelings about Spring Hill Nurseries. While their customer service is great, I'm not sure I can trust their advertising anymore. I'll probably still order from them in the future, but I'll definitely be more cautious and do my research before making any purchases.
Disappointing Experience with Spring Hill Nurseries - Not Worth the Price
I gotta say, I'm pretty bummed out about my experience with Spring Hill Nurseries. I mean, I was really excited to get my order, but boy was I in for a surprise. The first part of my order arrived way too early - I mean, we still had snow on the ground! What was I supposed to do with dormant root balls in the middle of winter? I did my best and potted them up in the garage, but it's been a month and they haven't shown any signs of life yet. Bummer.
Then, my clematis arrived after taking a detour through the midwest for ten whole days. By the time it got to me, it was yellow and dry, with a snapped stem. I planted it anyway, but no luck so far. And don't even get me started on the gloriosa lily bulbs - they were just thrown into a plastic bag with no protection whatsoever. Needless to say, they didn't survive the journey.
I was really hoping to get some unique plants that I couldn't find at my local garden centers, but I guess I'll just have to stick with them from now on. I mean, Spring Hill's prices were pretty steep compared to what I can get locally anyway. I tried reaching out to them, but I haven't heard back yet. Honestly, I might as well have just thrown $100 down the toilet.
So yeah, I wouldn't recommend Spring Hill Nurseries to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.
Disappointing Experience with Spring Hill Nurseries: Missing and Dead Plants, Inconveniences, and Poor Customer Service
I recently ordered some plants from Spring Hill Nurseries and unfortunately, my experience was not a positive one. One of the plants I ordered became unavailable, which was disappointing, but what was even more frustrating was that instead of shipping the rest of my order, I ended up with iris and slow-growing plants in late June when the weather was already hot. This was not ideal for these types of plants, as they prefer cooler temperatures. I had to quickly order some grow lights and find a big pot to keep them alive.
To make matters worse, one bag of a mix of tubers was actually empty, with nothing but the peat mix they were packed in. Out of the remainder of my order, only 2 out of 5 have shown any growth. One is growing well, but the other is still only about 2-3" tall when it should be much taller by now. It seems like these plants were not properly kept dormant and were not shipped for several extra months.
When I contacted Spring Hill Nurseries about the missing and dead plants, they only refunded me for the backordered item and did not include shipping or tax in the refund. They also wanted me to pay for the shipping cost for their mistake, which I found frustrating. Other nurseries I have dealt with in the past would have sent out the other plants and accepted that selling more than they can get of something is their mistake. They would have accepted the cost of having to ship it separately when it became available or it would have immediately been cancelled with a full refund and probably some extra store credit or a discount code on future orders.
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience with Spring Hill Nurseries. The missing and dead plants, along with the inconveniences, made this order a frustrating one. I would not recommend gambling on this place, as there are other nurseries out there with less risk and better quality products.
I an extremely disappointed with this organization operations and customer service
I an extremely disappointed with this organization operations and customer service. On 5/4 I placed an order for a tree. Waited a week to see if it shipped and it didn't. So I emailed customer service and did not get a response with 3 days so I called them. Waiting on the phone for an hour until I got someone and was told I needed to wait a day or two before I saw it in the system. Waited another week and called and was told the item was sent to their 3rd party partner for fulfillment and shipping and told it should be another few days. On the 18th, I called and they still could not give me an updated status because it was sent to their 3rd party fulfillment system and they can't see the status. On the 24th I called again and was then told the item was backordered and they don't know when its going to ship. Every time I called I got a different story and I still don't have my order and don't know when I will get it.
Awful to deal with. Ordered 3 blackberry bushes on October 23rd. Never showed up as back-ordered and apparently unlike any other major catalog retailer they immediately charge you for the items ordered. Here we are almost 6 months later and they have yet to ship anything. The items now show as back-ordered in my status page but still appear as being ready and able to ship in their catalog. All they ever do when emailed or complaints are made through their web-based chat is offer a $20 discount on FUTURE orders. Why do they think I would order anything further from them when they won't even ship currently ordered items? Have had to escalate the issue to a claim with *** to get a response and proceed to try and get a refund.Steer clear of this operation.
I called this co. To place an order from a catalog that said 50% off sale. When I gave the first # for the order, I was told that the price was the original. I told her the catalogue I received by mail, and the code I gave her from the catalog said the sale was good until may 18. I said this was fraud and asked to speak to a supervisor. She hung up on me. I will never do business with them. So glad I called

I placed an order for a plant on 5/5 that was displayed on their website in a plastic or ceramic elephant pot which prompted me to make the purchase for my mother who received it on 5/26, three weeks later, (she LOVES elephants). I called and while talking with a customer service representative about the missing elephant, the page I was simultaneously viewing on their site said something to the effect that another one will be shipped to my city/state on 6/22 (my mother lives in another state). After I was told that the elephant was just a prop I said that that is deceptive advertising to which she responded, "Is there anything else I can help you with?" In other words, she dismissed me. When I asked her about the shipment scheduled for 6/22 she told me to ignore it, that it didn't mean anything. WHAT? This company should have an F rating, not a B+. Will NEVER do business with them again or refer anyone. Awful experience and I only left a star because I HAD TO.

I ordered the Local Milkweed package which consisted of 3 plants for $45. It was pricey, but I wanted to help save the monarchs. Ordered July 7. Shipped October 13. Received October 20. They were out of stock of one of the plants, so they substituted a different one without letting me know. The plants arrived and one was definitely dead, and another died the next day despite my best efforts of grow lights and a humidifier. When I contacted the company and asked for a refund, I instead received a store credit. I am not satisfied and feel taken advantage of.
I HAVE TRIED FOR THREE MONTHS TO GET THEM TO STOP SENDING ADS. TEXT, PHONE AND EMAIL. THEY ARE OFF MY LIST FOR BUYING.
Spring hill has merged with *** and *** and others. I spoke with customer service told sent certificate for replacement in Dec. Called Jan 3 told call back after jan17th . Called Feb 3rd told no certificate found in system yet .
their ad says free shipping for orders over $50. My order was well over $50 and I was charged shipping. I immediately emailed them telling them if shipping was not free then to cancel my order. They claim to have no record of my email- very suspicious! I have emailed, chatted, texted and phoned to get this resolved however they refuse to refund shipping! DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!
Bought 5 rose bushes two came dead planted all 5 and sure enough the 2 never grew
Bought 5 rose bushes two came dead planted all 5 and sure enough the 2 never grew. I called and was told this item was out of stock but the would replace the when they were back in stock but that I would have to keep calling back. I call for 2 years and was told they were still out of stock. I got a call after hanging up and the person said they did have them they had changed the. Item number. They wanted me pay twice as much I said that I was told they would replace them for the same price so they did give me the same price but charged me 20 dollars shipping which is as much as one of the roses cost to begin with. The new roses arrived after a very long ship time new roses arrived dead. I called and they are out of stock again and the only thing they will give is the extra 20 I paid in shipping. Dont use this company if you get your products and it is ok great if not it is a complete nightmare. When the say they will replace that might mean you will have to pay all over again if the item cost more.
I spent over $100 on a handful of items. What I received was GARBAGE. I am not a novice, I am an experienced gardener, and am in the profession. I know poor quality, seedlings on the verge of death, when I see it. I tried to resurrect what I was sent, but after 2 months of coddling, nothing survived. I feel totally ripped off- AND YOU WILL TOO! Don't just walk... RUNNNNNN!
I placed my order in Jan, 2021. The majority arrived in June - after spending over 2 weeks in transit and *** after the optimum planting season. Very few plants survived. Today I went to check on my rose backorder only to find it had been cancelled. I had *** notification.Never again. I've learned my lesson. There are too many companies out there who perform so much better and know how to comminicate."
$200+ down the drain. 4 clemantis plants. None of them survived. None. Not even close. I begged for shipment, was ignored. Tried to cancel, was ignored. I was charged full amount when I placed the order, which wasn't shipped for over 3 months. Plants were "en route" for over 12 days - no light, no care, likely not air even, in a dark box. The tiny 4" plants arrived emaciated. I babied them day and night, to no avail. Never never will I order from SpringHill again. Ever. And you won't either if you care about your plants. ps - I am an experienced gardener.
Back in 2014 I purchased 2 special lilac bushes and their advanced formula plant food
Back in 2014 I purchased 2 special lilac bushes and their advanced formula plant food. It's now 2022 and one plant is still only about 10 inches tall and the other is only barely 5 feet tall and rarely has any blooms. I contacted them to find out what they would say. They offered a refund in the form of a replacement certificate. The girl I spoke with said it would be $36. and change that I originally paid but they must have taken out the fee to mail it because I got $26.98. Today I decided to go on-line to place an order so I could use the replacement cerficate. I tried to use the two numbers that were on the replacement certificate (account *** Number) but neither one would work in the code box so I decided to call. I explained that I was online, I had a cart open and was trying to use my certificate and pay the extra amount with paypal. I was hung up on twice! I ended up closing the order page and IF I EVER get my refund or replacement I will NEVER ORDER ANOTHER THING FROM THESE RUDE PEOPLE EVER AGAIN!

I received two dead plants from Spring Hill nursery. This nursery sent plants to California in a plastic bag without ventilation in dry peat moss. The roots and leaves were withered dry. The plants should be shipped in four inch pots rooted and happy and ready to plant to avoid any shipping or vulnerable plant issues. Spring Hill did not respond to my first online complaint email or my second in a timely manner so I had to call to make my complaint and was told I could get a refund. I eventually did get a refund of $4.99 for a $9.99 plant and $7.49 for the $14.99 plant and no reimbursement for the shipping that was the reason the plants came dead. I will never purchase from this Nursery again.
Livid! Still waiting on $195 paid for 15 plants ordered 3 MONTHS AGO on March 3. 19 phone calls, multiple emails. Best/only response I get is we're doing the best we can and we'll ship asap. Shipping dates changed/postponed so many times in 3 months I lost count. Unable to connect me with supervisor, issue refund, credit or expedite shipping. Temps now in 90s with high humidity and mosquitoes. Optimal planting conditions long gone for this year.

I ordered many clematis on 12/3. Time of delivery was scheduled for the end of April. But it kept slipping and slipping until we reached an estimated time in June. And one clematis was "backordered." Every time I looked at the order to see the "newest delivery date" there was a big cancel button. Who does that? Then I figured out that, when I bought mine, there was a sale. And now they get twice the price. So they want me to cancel. And clearly for one to be "backordered" means they are delivering to other people first (who I bet didn't order before Dec 3). I will never order from this company again and I consider their business practices to be less than honorable.
I placed an order at the end of March
I placed an order at the end of March. When my shipping date was continually pushed back, I called and emailed incessantly until I finally spoke to a live agent. After assuring me 100% that the items were not back ordered and that they were not shipped "due to the department of agriculture" I was hung up on. Countless more calls, emails, and attempts to use the chat feature and I have yet to get in touch with anyone again. Then these items were back ordered when I was assured by an associate they were ready to ship. While I was charged in March, the items are now on track to ship the end of June. I have cancelled my order but cannot get a refund status or get in touch with anyone regarding a refund. COVID is causing delays in every area of industry. However, the outrageous lack of customer support is at this time inexcusable, especially when this company is taking patron's money in a down turned economy, not delivering products, and then refusing to answer any of the countless customer questions about these questionable practices.

I will never ever ever do business with Spring Hill Nursery again
I will never ever ever do business with Spring Hill Nursery again. Their customer service is awful. I was a customer for many many years, but no more. I waited and waited on resolution for some plants that were shipped almost 2 months late. When I did get them, they were in very poor shape and they were pricey plants. I live in Ohio, and you would expect them to be in great condition as they aren't coming that far! WRONG! I spent several months trying to contact them (via phone, via email), and finally, about 2 months later, I received a response that they couldn't replace the plants. In the meantime, I get a past due invoice, and wasn't going to pay for something that was dead on arrival and that was the FIRST invoice I had received from them. Then, yesterday, I receive another past due invoice from them for something already paid for. GRRR ... this business really needs to go out of business. I will NEVER EVER deal with them again. I see that others totally agree with them. I'm really sorry, but I'm not going to deal with them and their lack of response or care for their customers.

Disappointing Quality and Customer Service from Spring Hill Nurseries
I recently made a purchase from Spring Hill Nurseries, specifically three Beautiful Bride Clematis plants for a total of $75. I was excited to receive them and planted them in my garden in early May, as the website stated that delivery would take only two weeks. However, by late May, I still had not received my order.
I decided to contact Spring Hill Nurseries to inquire about the status of my order. After some back and forth, they finally sent me my vines, which arrived last week on June 9. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find that one of the three vines had arrived dead, and the other two were in such poor condition that they are unlikely to survive.
I reached out to Spring Hill Nurseries again to express my dissatisfaction with the quality of the plants I received. However, all they offered me was a $25 credit to their website, with no option for a refund. I was extremely disappointed with this response and feel that it was a complete waste of my money.
Overall, I would not recommend Spring Hill Nurseries to anyone looking to purchase plants online. The quality of the plants I received was poor, and their customer service was lacking. If you're looking for a reliable source for your gardening needs, I suggest taking your business elsewhere.
Disappointed with Spring Hill Nurseries: Late Delivery, Dead Plants, and Overcharging Customers
I recently made a purchase from Spring Hill Nurseries, taking advantage of their buy 1 get 1 for $1 deal. However, I was disappointed to receive my plants in late June, well past the ideal time for planting. Due to ongoing remodeling at my home, I was unable to plant them right away and had to resort to planting them in containers instead. Unfortunately, the plants did not survive and died out quickly.
To make matters worse, I received a bill charging me full price for all the plants, which amounted to a hefty $183. As someone on a fixed income, this was a significant financial burden for me. I immediately contacted customer service to express my concerns and was told that they would escalate the issue to their higher-ups.
However, I am still waiting to hear back from them regarding how much I will have to pay for the dead and dying plants that were delivered to me well past the planting season. As an avid gardener, I know that annuals should be planted on Mother's Day weekend, not in late June when the weather is much hotter and less conducive to plant growth.
Overall, I am disappointed with my experience with Spring Hill Nurseries and would caution others to be wary of their delivery times and billing practices. While their buy 1 get 1 for $1 deal may seem like a great bargain, it is not worth the hassle and financial burden of receiving dead or dying plants and being charged full price for them.
Disappointing Experience with Spring Hill Nurseries: Beware of Sale Prices and Catalog Numbers
I recently had an experience with Spring Hill Nurseries that left me feeling disappointed. I ordered four miniature delphinium plants at what I thought was a great sale price of $9.99 each. However, when my order arrived, I was surprised to find that I had only received two plants at a full price of $20.00 each.
I immediately called customer service to inquire about the discrepancy and was informed that I had not included the catalog number in my order. While I understand that this was my mistake, I was disappointed to learn that the nursery was having a 50% off sale until April 13th, but they would not honor it for my order.
I even offered to pay for shipping if they would send out the two additional plants I had originally ordered, but unfortunately, they were not willing to accommodate me. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth and I have decided that this will be my first and last order with Spring Hill Nurseries.
I want to warn other potential buyers to be careful when placing orders and to make sure to include the catalog number to avoid any confusion. While I understand that mistakes can happen, I was disappointed with the lack of flexibility and customer service in this situation. So, if you are considering purchasing from Spring Hill Nurseries, be aware and proceed with caution.

Disappointing Experience with Spring Hill Nurseries: Failed Delivery and Refund Promise
I recently ordered some plants from Spring Hill Nurseries and received part of my order without any issues. However, the second part of my order was shipped later and unfortunately, it was delivered to the wrong address by FedEx on 10-1-22. I immediately contacted Spring Hill Nurseries to explain the situation and let them know that I did not receive my order. They informed me that they no longer had the items in stock to reship and offered to credit my account instead of issuing a refund. I insisted on a refund, but after being on hold for 10 minutes, I was told that they would send me a check instead.
Unfortunately, I still have not received the promised refund check and I had to tell my husband that day that I was right about Spring Hill Nurseries not sending a refund. It's disappointing that they did not honor their money-back guarantee and it's clear that they made a mistake by using FedEx for delivery.
In the future, I would recommend going to local nurseries instead of ordering from Spring Hill Nurseries. It's important to learn from our mistakes and I hope that Spring Hill Nurseries will improve their customer service and delivery methods in the future.
Disappointing Experience with Spring Hill Nurseries: Delayed Shipping and Lack of Product Availability
I recently had an experience with Spring Hill Nurseries that left me feeling quite disappointed. I had placed an order for two hardy perennials on December 29th, 2021, with the expectation that they would be shipped in February, as per the company's website. However, as April 29th rolled around, I had yet to receive any communication from the company regarding my order.
After numerous attempts to reach out to Spring Hill Nurseries, I finally received an email stating that they did not have the product I had ordered and that they would not be able to ship until potentially the end of May. This was frustrating, as I had already been waiting for several months and was now being told that I would have to wait even longer.
To make matters worse, I discovered that local stores in my area were selling full plants that could be planted immediately. It seemed clear to me that Spring Hill Nurseries had taken my money without actually having the product in stock, which is not a good business practice.
Overall, I would not recommend purchasing from Spring Hill Nurseries. If you're looking for plants, it's best to go to a local store where you can see the product in person and avoid any potential shipping delays or issues.
Disappointing Experience with Online Plant Order: Delayed Shipment and Poor Customer Service
I placed an order for a beautiful hydrangea bush on March 5th to gift to my dear friend. The website stated that it was "in stock" at the time of my purchase. I received a receipt that indicated that the bush would be shipped at the appropriate time for my growing group in southwest MO. The receipt also stated that I would receive an email notification when the item shipped. However, I never received any notification about the shipment of my order.
Feeling concerned, I decided to call the customer service center yesterday. Unfortunately, my call was directed to a foreign call center, which made it difficult for me to communicate my concerns. After some time, the representative was able to locate my order using the order number that I had provided. To my dismay, I was informed that the hydrangea bush was on backorder and would not be shipped until almost August, which was significantly past the transplant time.
Feeling disappointed, I requested a refund for my order. I am now left wondering how long it will take for me to receive my refund. I strongly advise that you order from a reputable company and avoid this one.
Disappointing Experience with Spring Hill Nurseries: Poor Communication and Customer Service
I wish I had read the reviews before placing my order with Spring Hill Nurseries. I made two orders in January 2022, totaling around $268 for several different plants. However, my first email from them stated that all of my items were backordered. I received two more emails stating that my items would not be shipped until April.
I was able to cancel part of my order for $29, which included some olive trees that were not going to be shipped until May 2022. However, Spring Hill Nurseries had already taken the money out of my account before informing me that the items were backordered. I am still waiting for a refund, and despite numerous calls to their customer service center, I have not received any updates on my refund status.
I even filed a dispute with my bank, but it seems like Spring Hill Nurseries is not taking any action to resolve the issue. Every time I call their customer service center, I am connected to a call center outside of the USA, and they seem to know nothing about my order.
I also discovered that Spring Hill Nurseries owns Gardens Alive and Gurneys Nursery, so I would advise against purchasing from any of these companies. I contacted the Better Business Bureau of Ohio and found out that they have received several hundred complaints about Spring Hill Nurseries.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Spring Hill Nurseries. Their lack of communication and poor customer service has left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking to purchase plants or gardening supplies.
Disappointing Experience with Spring Hill Nurseries: Poor Quality Trees and Customer Service
I recently made a purchase from Spring Hill Nurseries for 2 column apple trees. These trees were listed as available and I was excited to receive them. However, I received an email shortly after my purchase stating that one of the trees was no longer available. I responded to the email requesting to cancel the other tree, but to my surprise, they still sent it out. This left me with no choice but to order another tree.
After waiting for 2 weeks, I finally received my first tree. Unfortunately, it was packaged upside down and had sickly leaves with a broken top. I was disappointed with the condition of the tree. A couple of days later, I received my second choice tree. This time, it was packaged correctly, but it had the same results as the first tree. I was not happy with the quality of the trees I received.
To my surprise, I received another unexpected tree 2 days later. Spring Hill Nurseries informed me that they would credit me back the money for the unavailable tree, but there was no talk about a replacement. This tree was strong and healthy, but it was broken in half in 2 spots. I had spent too much money on these trees and Spring Hill Nurseries was not responding to my concerns.
Overall, I would give Spring Hill Nurseries 0 stars for their poor customer service and the poor quality of the trees I received. I was disappointed with my experience and would not recommend this company to anyone.
Disappointing Purchase: My Experience with Spring Hill Nurseries
Last spring, I decided to spruce up my garden and ordered three hydrangeas from Spring Hill Nurseries. After eagerly waiting for a couple of weeks, I received my package. I was disappointed to find three little sticks with tiny roots in a little loose potting soil or dirt. I also ordered a bag of fertilizer tablets, and I planted the three hydrangeas in prepared soil with the fertilizer as instructed. I watered and waited patiently for them to grow.
To my dismay, only one of the plants sent out shoots. The other two were struggling to survive. One of them sent out one pale shoot, but the third one never showed any sign of life. After a couple of weeks, the second one died. The third one struggled on, but it was not looking good. I watered every few days as needed, hoping for a miracle. But by summer's end, it, too, looked dead.
I was very disappointed with my purchase and decided to contact the company to express my concerns. I sent several complaints, but they did not respond promptly. After a while, they finally responded by sending me a coupon for one replacement plant. However, I had spent over $100 on nothing, and I was not satisfied with their response.
In conclusion, I would not recommend ordering from Spring Hill Nurseries. It was a waste of money, and the plants did not live up to my expectations. Instead, I would suggest going to a nursery near you and buying a plant that will live.
Disappointing Experience with Spring Hill Nurseries: Delays, Excuses, and Dead Plants
I had an experience with Spring Hill Nurseries in March of 2021. I ordered two items, but only one was sent to me. The other item was backordered and I was told it would be mailed to me in May of 2022. I contacted them to inquire about the status of my order and was given some lame excuses. They said that my plant was still backordered, but their staff has been so busy and Covid has been a problem. I found this to be frustrating because if my plant is backordered, then they are not trying to mail it to me but can't because they are so busy.
After some back and forth, I was issued a gift certificate in the amount of my order. I decided to order the plant again and waited for it to arrive in May. However, May came and went and I still hadn't received my plant. I emailed the company several times to inquire about the status of my order. Finally, I received a notice that the plant was on its way. But when it arrived a couple of weeks ago in June of 2022, it was dead.
I was issued another replacement gift certificate, but at this point, I was exhausted dealing with this company. I emailed them and said that I wanted a refund. After some more back and forth, I finally received my refund. It was not a fun experience and I don't think I will be ordering from Spring Hill Nurseries again.
Overall, I was disappointed with the level of service I received from Spring Hill Nurseries. The delays and excuses were frustrating, and the fact that the plant arrived dead was the final straw. While I appreciate that they issued replacement gift certificates, it was not enough to make up for the inconvenience and frustration I experienced. I hope that they can improve their processes and customer service in the future.
I placed an order on March 4th, I received 2 of the 4 items, but have yet to receive the other two items
I placed an order on March 4th, I received 2 of the 4 items, but have yet to receive the other two items. It's two months later and whenever I call customer service, the shipment date gets pushed back by two weeks. Currently I won't receive the order until June. The customer service representatives are rude and pushy. They don't want to help ease the problem. Instead they told me to cancel my order and use another company to get my items quicker. Instead of the representatives being understanding an giving me a valid reason why there has been a two month delay in shipping and the ship date keeps getting pushed out, they hung up the phone on me or end the webchat. They charged my bank immediately for the products, but I have to wait 2 - 4 months before I receive the product. This company has lost my trust in them to deliver a quality product in a timely manner.

After placing an order in August I received part of my order very quickly. No problem. After a couple months I still had not received the rest of my order so I emailed asking about it to be told that somehow my order had gotten lost somewhere in the shipping department and had not been processed. After a few weeks I received another partial shipment and they cancelled the rest of my order. Still not a problem The problem is that they have $139.12 of my money that they sent to a closed bank account. I called the bank (*** Credit Union) and they said they refused the refund because the account had been closed and sent it back to Spring Hill. Spring Hill will not acknowledge that the money was sent back and issue a refund check. They keep saying the bank has it and to call them.
Spring Hill sent me a special offer, buy one get one free. I called to use the special. I was told that it was not available. They did not honer their promotion. They said it had expired. On the offer there is no expiration date. This is a accruing problem all the time. Why?
On 10/2 and then 10/11 I ordered a total of 18 plants from Spring Hill Nursery
On 10/2 and then 10/11 I ordered a total of 18 plants from Spring Hill Nursery. I've sent 7 emails to their cutomer care email address advising that 3 of the 18 have failed to bloom. I asked them to honor the guarantee and asked for 3 of the same plant to be mailed to me to make up for the 3 that have not bloomed. On 4/7 I placed an order for five plants from Springhill Nursery and prepaid $108.20 on my credit card. On 4/28, a plant for $7.69 was shipped. The plant arrived in the mail in a plastic bag with half the roots broken of and the soil totally dried out. Because of the poor quality and condition of the plant I canceled the rest of the order. On 5/24, I got a credit of $26.99 which was the price of one of the two plants that I canceled the order on. I then received an order cancelation notice for the two $11.49 plants I ordered and canceled. I am still waiting on a credit of $8`1.21 for the rest of the order.
I initially bought some plants and received them several month later that were not what was advertised. These were the maximillion Sunflowers. The broken small roots came in a plastic dried soil bag that were not viable. I complained and received a replacement certificate. I recently tried to use my replacement certificate on the website and it could not recognize the number. Called customer service on 3 separate occasions without any help from them. Asked to speak to a manger and they said she is on another call and would call me back. I never received a call back. All I want is my 59.52 credit back to my card. I do not want a replacement certificate as I have no trust with this company and their customer service.
I ordered roses from this company back 05/03 5 rose plants in the amount of $29.99 and $9.95 shipping and handling for a total of 39.94 !
I ordered roses from this company back 05/03 5 rose plants in the amount of $29.99 and $9.95 shipping and handling for a total of 39.94 ! the company advertises that if you're not satisfied with any order they will replace or offer a certificate towards replacement ... I would prefer the plants be replaced , because when they give certificates , it never covers the cost of the plants and shipping , you always have to spend more money ! every replacement plant over the last year has died and all the certificates for replacement , never cover the cost for a new plant without needing additional money ... YOU NEVER CAN REACH CUSTOMER SERVICE , CALLS ARE 30 MINUTES TO AN HOUR WAIT TIME ! I have to send email after email and explain my concerns over and over again to different customer representatives ... It's been one hassle after another...the last replacement order never came ... I am so done with this company ! AWFUL SERVICE

I ordered 5 Rudbeckia plants @ $12.99 each. I thought I would be getting grown plants at that price. The website did not say otherwise. I just purchased 24 fully grown perennials at a private greenhouse for $10.99 each. I received 5 seedlings. Each one was stapled to a piece if cardboard and in a very small plastic sleeve. Each plant has 2 sprouts. Two of the plants are ok but they are seedlings. The other 3 had broken stems of each of the sprouts in it. I called customer service and was told "all I can recommend to you is to plant them". I sent an email with no response. If I wanted seedlings, I would have grown them myself and they did very little to prevent stem breakage. I have placed several online nursery orders from other nurseries and have had no issues whatsoever.
On April 14 I have ordered 8 diferent plants from this company (I had just received their catalogue). I paid by check ($ 121.79, check # 1378) I was soon sent an email saying that 4 plants are out of stock and I will recieve my money back. No money was returned sofar. I called the company at the end of April and was told the check will come in a week. I called the company yesterday (May11th) and was told my refund check will come together with my order, some time...in June! These business practices are horrible, they do not want to return my money. I am asking for my money back, immediately.
I ordered 11 plants from this company. They were shipped in two parts. The first was shipped and arrived 10 days later. It contained 8 plants of which 3 were dead and 1 in bad shape. These were planted the next day. The second shipment contained 3 plants of which 1 was dead and the other 2 in poor shape. The company has not responded to my attempt to address the poor quality of their product. I would like a refund of my money.
I bought a $100 e-gift card on April 2
I bought a $100 e-gift card on April 2. The website said it would be received in 24 hours. It was not. Order status showed "ship" date from April 2 - 5, then April 5 - 10, unknown ship method. I checked repeatedly with the recipient, they did not receive. On April 10, I filed a request to check the status and received a generic response. The e-card recipient also received a copy of this email. On April 16, when I still had not received a response, I disputed the charge with my bank. On April 20, "customer service" emailed with directions to use the e-card, alleging that not only did they send the card, but they also sent a confirmation to me. Neither is true. I told them I disputed the charge, cancel the gift card, please confirm. They sent the gift card on April 24. This was a gift. When it was not received, I replaced it. I do not intend to pay for an item I had to replace due to their poor service. Customer service (HA) is based in the Philippines and could care less.

I prepaid for an order of 10 healthy live plant in Nov
I prepaid for an order of 10 healthy live plant in Nov. 2020. (Order # ***) These plants were to ship early Feb. 2021. Now I am being told that they will not ship these plants until April because they are waiting to receive the plants from their supplier. Seems to me that this company uses your money and never ships anything. Yes, they said they would credit back the funds to my credit card and issue me a store credit to be used on a future order. However, I really, really want these 10 healthy live plants. Can you please get this company to ship the plants now and not in April when it will be to hot in my area of Florida for me to actually plant them into my butterfly garden. ----- (Note about previous order. Last year, early 2020, I ordered plants from this company. Last year I was told that they were not going to ship the plants because they could not harvest them due to COVID. I was issued a credit back to my credit card and give a credit to use on a future order.)

It appears that Springhill nurseries is intentionally misleading customers on shipping dates
It appears that Springhill nurseries is intentionally misleading customers on shipping dates. They give a reasonable date when the order is placed, bill your credit card and then extend the dates for providing the products repeatedly. The order I placed on March 31 was supposed to ship in mid April due to the Pandemic, since then the shipping dates have changed over 30 times sometimes multiple times per day. Mean while I have been billed the full amount of the order, so they have my money and I have no product or any reasonable idea of when I will receive that product. The order status shows an available date and all items were in stock when I placed the order. I believe they are not giving accurate shipping dates intentionally as the customer may go some place else while they take your money. I believe this is fraud, they know or have a reasonable knowledge of other orders and how long the delay has been and will be and are not giving the customer that expectation. Thus intentionally misrepresenting their services.

The company offered two plants and bulbs to a fixed price and a second one for penny more
The company offered two plants and bulbs to a fixed price and a second one for penny more. After a long time I received the order but the at the price of two plants. I sent the amount as it was advertised originally. Spring hill nurseries again billed me for double. I contacted them by mail several times with evidence pertaining to the issue. They eventually sent a letter apologizing for the the the error. After that they sent threatening letter regarding send the matter to collection, which they did. I have tried to contact them by several of the phone numbers that they have listed in their promotional materials and the calls either will not go through or the line permanently busy. They have a chat line but they never respond to it. Several of the plants never grew at all and two bushes only grew from two inches to four inches in six months. If they honored their warranty they would owe me money. I have new had an unpaid bill before but the is a principle involved here. I would never deal with this company again. Their attractive advertising does not make up for their poor business practices.

Ordered some ornamental grass from them in Feb
Ordered some ornamental grass from them in Feb. of 2019. After months of delay they finally sent it to me, it arrived in poor shape and it died within a few days. Filed a complaint with them and they said that they would not refund, but would give a credit. I was not happy with that as I wanted a refund. This Feb ( 2020) a year later I ordered the same thing, once again it got delayed several times. I then received an email from them 3 months after my order stating it was out of stock. They never said if it was going to be in stock again or not. I then decided that I just wanted to get away from their company, so I tried to order something that was listed as in stock. Naturally I had to add more money in order to use my credit, so I did. Then they started to change the delivery date again. Finally they sent me my order. After it spent almost 9 days in shipping it arrived dead. I took pictures of the dead plants and sent them out and requested a full refund as I did not want anything more to do with them and their pyramid scheme of not giving refunds , just credit, so they can get more money from you. This has been going on for almost a year and a half. They do even respond to my emails at all.

On 4/27 I placed an order on line with this company for 25 Arborvitae Hedge Plants
On 4/27 I placed an order on line with this company for 25 Arborvitae Hedge Plants. (Very small ones) I paid $98.90 which included shipping. Item #***. Account # ***, Order # ***. They were shipped to me around 4/29 and I planted them according to instructions the following day. In about three weeks 8 of the 25 died. I emailed the company back and said I would like them replace according to their guarantee and warranty. They said they no longer had any but would issue me a "replacement certificate" worth $21.99. There was nothing else I wanted so I checked again later and found them advertising more Arborvitae just like the original order I had placed. I called that day and talked to a customer representative and said that I wanted to replace the eight that had died by using the replacement certificate of $21.99. I was told they would do that if I paid the shipping charges of $6.95. Today I found out after waiting for a week that they will not ship the replacements for another TWO MONTHS. (October) This is unacceptable and I need those now to complete a hedge row that I started on 4/30. Qty Ordered Item Number Item Description Ship Date Estimate 1 64582 EMERALD GREEN ARBORVITAE HEDGE 10/05 I wish either a replacement of the plants or refund of 1/3 the original cost. Spring Hill Nurseries processed a gift order for me from a customer on September 10
On September 10, Spring Hill Nurseries processed a gift order from a customer, whose name is withheld for privacy, to me. The order included one Incredible Hydrangea 05-A-03. Upon receipt, we planted the hydrangea and adhered to the included planting instructions. On September 29, I contacted customer service to request a replacement, as the plant was not flourishing and appeared deceased. The representative, Mark, advised me to wait 4 to 6 weeks for growth signs. I followed up on November 3, within the suggested timeframe, and another representative, Louie, informed me that a replacement was not possible due to unavailability, despite it being available on September 29. I then requested a refund for the gift giver, but was initially refused and later told the request must come from her. After requesting to speak with a manager for the refund and being told none were available, it seems it may now be too late for her to receive a refund. I am awaiting a call from the manager, but wish to document my concern over what I perceive as bad faith, being instructed to wait for a replacement when the plant would no longer be available and a refund is seemingly unattainable.
