firing an employee!
I live 10 miles away from the closest Starbucks. When I go to town (Galesburg, IL) to do my shopping I always treat myself to a Starbucks coffee before I go home. Not only do I enjoy the coffee, but I enjoy the cheerfulness and big smile from Debbie Armstrong. She always makes you leave with a smile even if you have had a bad day. The last several time...

I am so totally disgusted with this store. It is located at 605 Capitol Exwy. by the Home Depot in San Jose, CA.
Their door says they are open at 4:30 a.m., however as I am going to work and feel like stopping by for a coffee I always have to wait at least 5-10 min. for one of the four people that are there to stop messing around with whatever they are doing, whether they are just starting to stock the pastry display, playing with the lock on the front door or just bsing with a co-worker, to take my order. I can sit in the drive-thru window for 5 min without anyone acknowledging that I am even there, then back out of there to go into the store and have to wait some more.
If your sign says your open at 4:30 am then you should be ready to do business by 4:30 am. Not 4:45 or 5:00 but at the time you display. And then the "Baristas" act like your bothering them by coming in. Oh and another thing, look out if a police officer is in there, even if they come in after you and you have been waiting 5 to 20 min. for your coffee they will get there service and be out the door withing 3 min. while your still made to wait.
shame on you starbucks!
Recently, Starbucks was contacted by our armed forces in the Persian Gulf. They expressed their liking of Starbucks coffee products and requested some for their consumption.
Keep in mind, while some of us may not agree with current events or support certain decisions by our government, we still have a moral obligation to support our troops. They do not have the final say regarding their duty stations! These men and women VOLUNTEERED to defend our citizens, our freedoms, and our beloved and cherished disposable way of life. At 18, these brave folks are eligible to sign their lives away on the dotted line for Uncle Sam, yet can't get a legal beer until 21! You would think that a popular company, such as Starbucks, could at least give them a cup of lousy coffee! I've been in the hospitality business a long time and am currently a working senior chef. I know where my caffeine is coming from these days, as do my friends in the restaurant business, and it AIN'T from Starbucks! I'm ashamed and appalled that I ever gave them MY hard earned money. From now on, every time I think about a cup of Mocha Latte, I'll put that $4 towards a charitable cause to support the Americans who preserve my way of life and actively give a damn. Shame on you Starbucks!

I am SO glad to see fellow partners stepping up and putting the idiots who spread this crappy rumor around in their places. It's AMAZING how many people will believe something simply because it's written down. Grow a brain and check things out for yourself before you go reaming somebody out - and getting embarrassed because you're WRONG.
Proud Partner Since 2001
these are just RUMORS. i personally helped organize drives (plural) to send items, gift baskets, care packages, and various goodies to our men and women overseas. the folks at starbucks have obliged my requests to help out and have never given attitude or any kind of disrespect to those brave folks overseas. maybe YOU should be more involved and stop waiting for someone to do it for you. this all of our responsibility. what have YOU done lately?
Having worked for Starbucks for over 3 years now...I have to say your are terribly mistaken! This company does so much for the community than any company I have worked for in my life!. At my store, last year we donated our partner markouts (1 lb. of coffee per week per employee) and we had a big basket where customers could purchase a bag and donate it to the troops overseas. My store alone donated over 100 lbs. of coffee, and this was just in a couple months. AND... this was just my store... I know many other stores around the country did this! Never accuse Starbucks of not being involved!
Are people like Blackwater or Halliburton or any of the other big-mouth flag-wavers "patriotically" donating their services? Hell NO, they're not!
And Sgt. Wright's original e-mail was NOT a result of inadequate research; he knowingly posted false information because he was pissed off. Here's hoping he had his ### reamed for it.
Ok so I have been hearing the above a lot. Don't you ever bother to check your facts. Check it out:
Summary of the eRumor:
An email from a Marine who says some Marines wrote to Starbucks to say how much they liked Starbucks coffee and to request some donated coffee for the Marines. The eRumor says Starbucks responded by saying they don't support and war and will not send any coffee. The writer urges a boycott of Starbucks.
Bullet The Truth
TruthOrFiction.com contacted Starbucks about the story.
Starbucks says that the originator of the email, Sgt. Howard Wright, and talked with him about his complaint. He has now sent a follow-up email to his email list, which appears below. Starbucks assured him of their support of the military and that the only reason any coffee was not donated was because the official Starbucks donation policy authorizes such gifts to officially designated public charities, including libraries and schools, and that the U.S. military or military personnel do not qualify. It was not meant to be a comment on the war or the service of military personnel in the war. The company said that there have been employees that have showed their support through donations of coffee.Starbucks told us that many of the company's employees (called "partners" by Starbucks) receive one pound of free coffee each week and some of that coffee has gone to members of the military or related organizations. For example, the employees in the Starbucks in Atascadero, California, decided to send their weekly free coffee to troops in Afghanistan and there are other such stories about Starbucks coffee finding its way into the hands of military personnel.
Here is Sgt. Wright's follow-up email after Starbucks spoke with him:
Dear Readers,
Almost 5 months ago I sent an e-mail to you my faithful friends. I did a wrong thing that needs to be cleared up. I heard by word of mouth about how Starbucks said they didn't support the war and all. I was having enough of that kind of talk and didn't do my research properly like I should have. This is not true. Starbucks supports men and women in uniform. They have personally contacted me and I have been sent many copies of their company's policy on this issue. So I apologize for this quick and wrong letter that I sent out to you.
Now I ask that you all pass this email around to everyone you passed the last one to. Thank you very much for understanding about this.
upset with starbucks service
I went to Starbucks to purchase a Decaffeinated caramel latte 3/4 full with double whip cream and no lid. The girl that made my order put a lid on my my drink and I said I did not want a lid she said it was her job to put lid on it. I have been buying lattes for years the same way and never had a problem with that. And it was not even hot it was warm. So I am upset.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
She asked that because the Love Your Body card program is only available to US residents.
So chill out.
Are you kidding?
First of all, just take the lid off... is that too much work?
Second, whipped topping is usually cold, making your drink get cold. Its like putting an ice cube in a drink.
The girl is just doing her job, give her a break. It's a lid, not a fly in your coffee. She got your complicated order right, whats a lid to you? Please, lighten up.
Whats wrong with you? Are you OCD or just to pretentious for planet earth?!? If you dont like having a lid then TAKE IT OFF! As for the drink no longer being hot, you probably argued untill it became cold during your hissy fit. I cant believe you made this complaint in THIS forum and furthermore I cant believe this forum would allow such a stupid complaint to stand! Anything else you would like to get off your chest? Prehaps you didnt have enough soggy french fries with your happy meal? Maybe the last coat you bought came with a hanger and you didnt want the freakin hanger, grow up!
Hey! Just take the damn lid off! Whats wrong with you? Also I have been reading these comments does someone sit at Starbucks just to counter these comments?
It's a corporate requirement that Starbucks employees make certain there is a lid securely in place before handing product over to the customer. Their requirement, not mine. If you prefer not to have a lid, you are entitled to remove it.
Personally, I prefer to have a job, so I'll keep putting lids on drinks at Starbucks.
this guy wiped out his smile in no second and threw the 2 dollars to me...
This is an unfortunate story about what happened this afternoon. My wife and I went to a Starbucks at Georgetown, Washington, DC to get an iced coffee. I gave a cashier a $5 bill and a $1 additionally because my wife wanted to have some quarters for a parking meter. I didn't realize at first, but the cashier gave me the change but it was $2 short. She...

About Starbucks
One of the key factors that sets Starbucks apart from other coffee chains is its commitment to ethical and sustainable sourcing. The company works closely with farmers and suppliers to ensure that its coffee beans are grown and harvested in a responsible and sustainable manner. Starbucks also invests in programs that support coffee farmers and their communities, such as the Coffee and Farmer Equity (C.A.F.E.) Practices program.
In addition to its focus on sustainability, Starbucks is also known for its innovative and diverse menu offerings. The company offers a wide range of coffee and tea beverages, as well as snacks, sandwiches, and other food items. The company has also experimented with other technology-driven initiatives, such as its Reserve Roastery locations, which offer a more immersive and interactive coffee experience.

i have definitely seen that same thing happen over and over. but things dont change unless we say something about it. call the manager and left him/her know. maybe they are unaware that is happening. how can anyone get any better without feedback and the chance to make it right? wouldn't you like to know?
