rules. my child has a medical condition and they didnt provide any accommodations or support. they just ignored us and didnt care about our concerns. it was a terrible experience for my child and for us as parents. we were really looking forward to this camp but it was a big disappointment. i would not recommend stem camp to anyone who has a child with a medical condition. they need to learn how to be inclusive and follow the law. very disappointed.

STEM camp No refunds for cancelled program

No refunds for cancelled program. We paid for 2 kids for day camps. Now they are cancelled and stem is considering our payment as a donation or use for online camp which isn't possible. You are not providing the service we paid for, so a refund is well within our rights.

STEM camp They ain't givin' no refunds

They ain't givin' no refunds. They took $250 from me for my kid to go to camp for a whole week in the summer, but now they ain't offerin' the service I paid for. They charged my credit card $250. Now the camp got canceled and they won't give me my money back. If they ain't gonna provide the service I paid for, they should give me a refund. Otherwise, they're stealin' my money. The replacement services they offer don't cover the cost. The online virtual camp only goes on for an hour each day, and they gave that away for free in April. I even paid extra to drop my kid off early for the week in July.

STEM camp So, I gotta say, this camp I signed my kid up for, it's been a real disappointment

So, I gotta say, this camp I signed my kid up for, it's been a real disappointment. First off, they changed their refund policy 'cause of Covid, which I get, things are tough right now. But here's the thing, they changed it after I already paid! Like, come on, give me a heads up or something.

When I first signed up, they had this policy where if you pulled your kid out of the camp more than 30 days before it started, you'd get most of your money back, minus a little somethin' for administrative fees. Seemed fair enough to me. But now, they're all about these online camps only, which is not what I signed up for at all. And guess what? They ain't givin' any refunds. None. Zip. Nada.

I've been tryin' to get in touch with 'em, ask 'em what's goin' on, but they're straight up ignorin' me. Like, hello? I paid for a service and now they're not deliverin'. That's a breach of contract right there.

Honestly, I'm just really disappointed. I thought this camp would be a great experience for my kid, but it's turned into a mess. And the fact that they're not even tryin' to make things right just adds insult to injury. Not cool, guys. Not cool at all.

STEM camp They cancelled the summer camp, so no care for kids, and they ain't giving refunds for people who already paid

They cancelled the summer camp, so no care for kids, and they ain't giving refunds for people who already paid. They only want you to donate the money you spent! Now they're doing this virtual camp thing where you gotta find someone to take care of the kids AND do science stuff with them on the computer. Like, how are little kids and grandmas who don't know tech gonna do that? I don't make enough money to just hand over $442 for two weeks. They won't even let you roll over to next year or get a refund. Your only choice is to donate the money or switch to virtual camp. But we still gotta find someone to take care of our kids, how are we supposed to pay for that when we already paid for summer camp?

STEM camp I signed my son up for a STEM camp at STEMCamps

I signed my son up for a STEM camp at STEMCamps.ca for a whole week during the summer. Unfortunately, due to the current situation, the camp won't be happening this year. Now, here's the thing, they won't give me my money back. I registered my son on March 4, and now they're saying I can't get a refund. They offered me a few alternatives instead. One option is to donate the $251.87 to them, which honestly doesn't make sense to me. Another option is to have my son take an online course, but that was only free in April and May. Plus, it just means he'll be stuck in front of a screen, and it's not like they'll be providing any babysitting services. Lastly, they suggested signing him up for next year, but that won't work for us because by then he'll be old enough to stay home alone. I had a phone call with a young man who seemed to be reading from a script. He couldn't give me any real answers or go off-script. He transferred me to his boss, but she didn't pick up the phone. I've been waiting for her to call me back, but so far, no luck.

STEM camp So, I gotta tell ya, I'm pretty ticked off about this STEM camp situation

So, I gotta tell ya, I'm pretty ticked off about this STEM camp situation. I shelled out a whopping 1900 bucks for my son's registration, only to find out they won't give me a refund. Can you believe that? They want me to consider it a donation instead. Like, seriously? They claim they don't have the funds and are offering some virtual camp thing, but here's the kicker: I'm an essential worker, busting my butt full-time, and I can't even make use of that virtual camp nonsense. The only other option they give me is to donate the whole registration fee. 1900 dollars, gone just like that. Now I gotta fork out even more cash for private day care. I need that 1900 bucks to cover the day care expenses! It's just not fair, man. Not everyone has that kind of money to throw around as a donation. I mean, come on, a 10% administrative fee would be understandable, but this is just plain wrong. I gotta work, I can't stay home, and I definitely don't have the resources for their virtual camp. This is just downright unfair.

STEM camp So, I gotta tell ya, this camp I signed up for, it's been a real bummer

So, I gotta tell ya, this camp I signed up for, it's been a real bummer. They went ahead and cancelled it, which is understandable 'cause of COVID and all, but here's the kicker: they won't give me my money back! Can you believe it? They're just like, "Nah, no refunds for you." Instead, they're all like, "Hey, why don't you donate your money to us or join our virtual camp?" But let me tell ya, a virtual camp ain't the same as the real deal.

What really gets me is that they're making bank off this whole COVID situation. Like, seriously? They're a non-profit camp, but they're still finding a way to profit from a pandemic. And to top it off, they're not even answering their phones or responding on social media. I mean, come on, guys, get it together!

This camp ain't cheap, let me tell ya. And they're claiming they don't have the funds to give us refunds. Well, where the heck did our money go then? All the other non-profit camps out there are giving refunds or at least planning to. But not these guys. They're just taking advantage of people and not even bothering to keep us in the loop.

I gotta say, at first they offered me a refund, but now they're backtracking on their word. It's just not cool, man.

STEM camp We signed up our kid for the summer camp

We signed up our kid for the summer camp. Coz of COVID, the company had to cancel the camp and won't give our money back. I signed up for the camp on Feb 17, 2020 for my kid's 2 weeks of camp this summer. On May 27, I got an email saying the STEM Camp ain't gonna happen in person, but they gonna do it virtually. But here's the thing, we got bad internet at home, and my kid ain't old enough to use a computer or tablet. Plus, it ain't the same camp we signed up for. Not giving us a refund is just not right. I paid over $500 for this camp with my credit card. Their other option is to take the money as a donation to their company. I wrote to 'em, left messages, and posted on social media. They ain't responding and even blocked me on social media. That's just not cool and it ain't right.

STEM camp I'm really frustrated with this STEM camp company

I'm really frustrated with this STEM camp company. They canceled the summer camp, but they won't give us a refund. The handbook clearly says we should get 90% back if we cancel more than 30 days in advance. I signed up my son for 3 weeks at the Waterloo location. I paid everything upfront and got an email with our registration invoice and the parents handbook. The handbook clearly explains the refund policy based on when you cancel (I attached it). Last week, STEM camp sent an email saying they're doing a virtual camp instead and we can't get a refund. They only gave us two options: do the virtual camp or donate the money we already paid. But here's the thing, both me and my partner work full time and we have a 6-year-old and a toddler at home. A virtual camp just doesn't work for us. I've tried contacting the company twice now asking for a refund based on their own refund policy, but they haven't responded at all. I attached the emails and the handbook for you to see. I've reached out to them twice and still nothing.

STEM camp I signed up and paid for a whole week of STEM Camp in person

I signed up and paid for a whole week of STEM Camp in person. But guess what? They went and canceled the camp and now they won't give me my money back. I registered my daughter on February 2, and it cost me $195.16. When I signed up, they told me I could get a full refund if I canceled 30 days before the camp. But then on May 28th, they sent me an email saying they're not doing the camp anymore and I won't be getting my money back. Can you believe it? They gave me two options instead: 1) donate the money to them (even though they're not a charity) or 2) donate the money and do some virtual camp for an hour and a half. That's not what I signed up for! STEM Camp is saying they can't give us our money back because they can't afford it. Well, where did our money go then? They said they got help from the government for non-profit organizations, but the students running the virtual camps aren't getting paid. I'm worried about the parents who need their money back and also about the students running the virtual camps.

STEM camp STEM camp ain't givin' no refunds for camps that can't happen this year

STEM camp ain't givin' no refunds for camps that can't happen this year. So, back on February 27, we signed up our daughter for a whole week of STEM Camp. It cost us a total of $248.62. Then, on May 28, we got an email sayin' that the camp was gonna be virtual. Well, on June 1, I sent an email to the camp sayin' we wanted our money back. And guess what? On June 10, I got a voicemail from STEP askin' me to call 'em back. The very next day, June 11th, we got an email from STEM sayin' they couldn't give us a refund 'cause they already used the money they got from enrollments in January and February. So, I talked to Hillary, one of the camp staff, and told her we didn't wanna do no virtual camp and just wanted our money back. She said we could either roll the fees over to next year's camp or donate the money to the camp. But I told her none of those options were what we wanted. We just wanted a refund. She said I had to talk to the supervisor about it. So, I left a voicemail for the supervisor explainin' that we wanted our money back. According to their policies, they say they'll give a full refund minus a 10% administration fee if you ask for it 30 days or more before your kid's registered week of camp starts. Well, my daughter's week was supposed to be August 10-14, 2020. But guess what? I still ain't heard back from the supervisor, and they ain't replied to my email askin' for a full refund.

STEM camp I signed up for the STEM Camp in the summer of 2020 and paid $1,559.61 on January 27

I signed up for the STEM Camp in the summer of 2020 and paid $1,559.61 on January 27. I had to make several calls and send emails, and they finally told me I had to defer my registration to 2021. They refused to give me a refund. On May 28, I got an email from the founder of STEM Camp, ***, offering me two options: either enroll my son in an online program for one hour a day or donate the full registration fee of $1,559.61. There was no choice for a refund. I emailed Mr. on June 1, asking for a refund, but he just told me to choose one of the two options again. I called the program and spoke to ***, who said she couldn't guarantee a refund even though I was in a tough situation because of the pandemic. She suggested that I leave my 9-year-old child alone at home for several hours so I could afford to donate my fee to STEM Camp. I emailed again on June 8, asking for my refund and mentioned that I would contact my MPP. I didn't get a response by June 10. I was worried that they would claim my enrollment fee as a donation, so I deferred to summer 2021. I called my MPP, who sent me to a provincial consumer website that didn't help at all. They just told me to keep trying to resolve the issue with the program. On January 7, I got an email from STEM Camp asking me to confirm an online schedule for summer 2021 with some changes. On January 12-13, 2021, I emailed back and insisted on a refund because the program was no longer suitable for my son's needs due to financial difficulties caused by the pandemic. ***, the camp director, insisted that I accept their offer to use the camp programs and said they wouldn't give me a refund. I emailed back and asked for their refund policy from January and any changes they made since then. On January 14, *** emailed me again and said, "After suffering a big loss last year, STEM Camp can't give you a refund for your 2020 enrollment fees. We tried to discuss rollover options with you on June 6 and June 11, and you chose to roll your fees over to 2021." I emailed back to *** and repeated that I really needed a refund, not just as an option, but as a necessity. I begged them to consider my child's well-being, as his daily needs are greatly affected, and the refund would provide much-needed relief. I also asked for their refund policy from January and any changes they made since then. *** replied, "I understand your situation, but please understand that we have all been negatively affected by the pandemic. STEM Camp simply can't afford to give a refund for the summer of 2020."
