I bought a book via Amazon Marketplace. I never received the book. I called SuperBookDeals, and had to speak with a very rude woman. Eventually, she told me that the inventory was empty. I asked her why they could not do me the favor of letting me know in advance. The woman then yelled at me, and when I asked to see the supervisor, she hung up. I am still waiting on a refund. I received an email promising a refund but I am still out a bunch money. Do not buy from this seller!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I had the same experience with this seller, who operates on eBay as "greatbookprices".
See the review I posted elsewhere:
Like many others who have written reviews, I was subjected to bait and switch by this retailer, who claimed to have "more than 10 available" in stock when I purchased a book using eBay's Buy It Now feature. Three days later, the seller, who is also going by the name "greatbookprices" on eBay, canceled the order without contacting me. (The company is actually called Expert Trading Limited, for what it's worth)
Now, the same book is re-listed on eBay for nearly $100 more and the listing still claims "more than 10 available".
This is highly suspicious. Yeah, sure, you don't have any in stock...you just happened to cancel my order and raise the price by 155% at the same time...
When I called them at [protected] they said the order was probably canceled because they were out of stock. When I pressed them about the price change on eBay and the fact that they are still offering "more than 10" of this exact book for sale on eBay, they said they would have to have someone call me back.
Needless to say, I haven't heard from them, nor do I expect to.
Stay away from this vendor!
Beware of "Greatbookprices" on eBay! Please, for the love of God, do not buy or sell with them! They purchased a book from me without reading the very clear description. In my description, I explained that it was a paperback book and not a hardcover. A few days after I put the package in the mail, they sent me a curt email demanding a refund. I explained that once they return it to me, I'd gladly refund them. In return to my email, I received a generic canned response. They then filed a claim against me without communicating with me first. They took about a month to my return my book and half.com withdrew money from banking account without my permission, which left me with a $25 overdraft fee. Needless to say, I'm extremely upset. I'm a college student who lives paycheck to paycheck, and I was trying to sell my book to another college student at a discount. The book that I was selling typically goes for about $100, but I was selling mine for $40. I had the misfortune of dealing with this terrible, unresponsive company. I had the worst experience of my life dealing with them, yet I can't even leave them negative feedback since they were the buyer. I made an effort to communicate with this company four times, yet they never replied to my emails. Customer service is very important, I see it as a reflection of how professional a company is. This terrible company doesn't give a damn about the little man, and their main goal is to make a profit off of struggling students. BEWARE!
I just bought a book from these people and got duped! It's been 3 weeks and it's NEVER going to show up. I got an email from them blowing smoke up my ###, but no promise of any help or a product at my door. Superbookdeals SUCKS! DON'T USE THEM! They are cons!
I ordered a book thru SuperBookDeals on December 1, 2016 and just received it today December 21, 2016. When I placed the order online it said it was in Waukegan, IL which is about 25 miles from my house. It said it would ship in 2 days as it was in stock. After 1 week I called and spoke to Tracy Walker(customer Service manager) at [protected] as she said it was coming from CA. When the package arrived today it says Waukegan, IL on the label. Why should anything take 20 days to arrive in the USA. I Would not suggest doing business with this company.
I just got off the phone with this same Tracy... All a bunch of ###.. Got my book, wrong book and then I'm getting the 3rd degree cause I asked why is it that I have to wait another 4-14 days to get the correct book if it's coming from Waukegan and I too live only about 45 mins away from there.. Now I'm stuck with having to find the correct book in a week for my class and I have to send this book back via UPS so I can get my refund.. Such ###
I agree with these comments. I ordered several copies of a Book, which SuperBookDeals (SBD) accepted. After I received a partial shipment, I contacted SBD about the remaining portion. I was informed that the rest would be shipped separately. Two days later, I received notification from Amazon that the order had been cancelled. SBD still has that item listed on Amazon, without a purchase limit (or at least for the # I needed), at a price ~10% higher than the previous price. Bait and switch at its best.
