is ripping me off!
I accepted a payment plan with Target National Bank in April 2009. I was to pay them $47.00/month to pay my balance down to zero. Well, it is the end of the three months, I logged on to make sure everything was good and the account was closed, but to my surprise, my balance was $171.75! I called to see what was going on, they told me, "well of course you were accruing late charges each month"! I was so mad, I said what is the point of offering a payment plan to settle an account if you charge late fees too! They said I should have made extra payments on top of my agreement! They were not helpful at all. I have 39.00 dollar a month late fees and now owe them almost 400.00 dollars instead of the original 190. I have filed a complaint with Better Business and hope they dont scam anyone else!

costomer service
There is this employee at Target in San Dimas CA who is such a jerk to me everytime I come in, not to mention a jerk to my mother. He is one of those controlling, abusive types who once dated my friend. The store manager there loves him deeply, though, so regardless to the fact that he has called me & my mother a ### to our faces while shopping there, completely ignoring him, he still got promoted. It's ridiculous! He would be angry at my friend & take it out on us when he saw us. My mom works with him, so I feel I can't do anything, given the manager likes him so much. Almost everytime I walk in, though, this guy walks towards me as if to challenge me & occasionally bruches his arm against me. I can't believe it! He is husky & over 6 ft tall. I'm a quiet 5 ft 4 in woman and my mother is in her 50's yet gets treated this way by this man. It's so disappointing that the manager has done nothing. Supposedly, nothing can be proven. If he took the time to question fellow employees, though, he would hear numerous complaints. It's terrible that just because he if friendly with the manager he gets to push his way around! He's a huge sexual harasser too! I just wish they cared enough about there female employees at this store to do something about it. I smell a law suit as soon as he crosses the path of a woman who has nothing to risk & stands up for herself even after this stores management does nothing.

buyer protection plan
we bought a dual dvd player for our kids so that they could watch dvds in the car when we take long trips in the car. we bought the buyer protection plan from the target store so that if anything would go wrong with the item we could get it fixed or replaced. well ... something did go wrong with the item of course after the 90 days that we had to return it to the store so we contacted the buyer protection service and was told that they would send out some labels so that we could ship the item out to be fixed and if it could not be fixed they would send us a gift card to get a replacement dvd player. well that was a month ago. i called them to see where the labels were and first i was told, that oops there was a glitch in the system and they never sent them, and then another person i spoke with said that they sent them i just never got them. some one is lying! i contacted target at the customer service 800 number and got the runaround there as well. i was t
old that i would have to wait for the labels to be sent again and wait to see if the item could be repaired or not. i was willing to do this a month ago! now they are telling me i have to wait again? this is not reasonable as we bought the dvd players for long trips that we take in the summer when school is out and by they time they get around to fixing the item or not summer will be over and i would not have been able to use the product which i purchased. i paid for a service and expect my concern to have been handled in a reasonable amount of time. which it has not been. i asked what can be done about this and was told nothing. i said that there was always something they could do. i asked if they would contact the mananger at the store i purchased the item at and advise him to return the item for a new one and that the store just return the item as broken and get a credit for it. i was told they could not do this. i know they can since 7 years ago i worked for
this company and it was done all the time! why could they not make an acception? the customer service that i recived in the last couple of days trying to get this resloved has been appalling. i have written a letter that i will send "snail" mail to the president of the company. i do not know how much good that will do, but i know that i will never buy another thing from target and i will be telling lots of people i know about this...

interest rate increase
Target Visa sent a letter saying the interest on their credit card was rising to 23% because there had been too many inquiries into our credit history. That's because every credit card we had did the same thing! They would not even work with us to lower the interest rate; however, they did lower our credit amount each time a payment was made. They said they were not "allowed" to lower anyone's interest rate. This is a true RIPOFF!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I called them last November 2009 to have my interest rate lowered. I always make my payments on time (one exception several years ago I was late once - an oversight on my part) and have been a customer for years. They said that they no longer lower customer rates and I spoke to a few people. Not only did they refuse but earlier this year they raised my rate tremendously. I was still paying on time and have an excellent credit rating. I am warning people as well that they will sock it to you and are not willing to work with you. DO NOT EVER GET A TARGET CREDIT CARD!

Let the CEO know how you feel
refund policy
Target has a good system working with respect to denying refunds. To begin with, I've noticed their receipts fade very soon after the purchase to the point they are unreadable. Twice, I've taken my valid receipts with unopened merchandise (one a high-dollar item), and have been denied a refund because of one or two unreadable numbers on the bottom of the receipt. This happens despite the fact my receipt clearly has a date printed on it that is within the refund guidelines and the item I'm returning is listed on it as well. Yet the faded receipt, only a couple of weeks old, has a bar card that won't scan and the numbers have faded so that some cannot be read easily enough to just key in.
I am shocked that this retailer can stand there and tell me, "Sorry, we can't give you a refund (only a gift card)" even though my receipt is valid and the item is on it! This last incident had me call for a supervisor and point out to him that nowhere on the return policy does it state that an item could not be eligible for cash refund if your valid receipt has numbers that don't scan or that are too faded to read. It's a scam! I made the customer service rep enter every number option for the two missing numbers on the receipt. And, surprise--the correct receipt number came up on their register. They were hoping I'd let it go and just bite the big one on my purchase. No way, Jose.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
It's the biggest SCAM ever. The same happened to me. I had a receipt that clearly showed the date, the items, the totals and even the store address. But their magically fading ink made it impossible for them to scan the receipt, so no refund for the item I paid cash for. After 30 minutes of saying there was NOTHING they could do and speaking to about 4 different people on the phone, they finally gave me a store credit. If you could give me a store credit, why not offer that up front instead of saying there is NOTHING they can do? That is the LAST penny I'll spend at their store. I'd rather pay more for better customer service and receipts that don't fade less than 3 weeks after they are given. Target should be ashamed.
falsely accused
I was falsely accused of shoplifting at TARGET store located at 2700 W 120th street HAWTHORNE, CA 90250 on Friday June 26th, 2009 at about 10:15AM. I was stopped by security on my way out of the store and accused of (SHOPLIFTING) having something in my waste band, and asked to basically frisk myself right by the front door. We then went to the bathroom where I showed security that I didn't have anything and I didn't!
A retail store makes a choice when it decides to detain, apprehend and/or arrest those who attempt to steal their merchandise. Making that choice creates a legal responsibility of doing it correctly. This involves the proper hiring, training, and supervising those who make shoplifter apprehensions and arrests. In the retail loss prevention profession, the possibility of falsely accusing and detaining a customer for theft is a business reality that must be addressed.
In the United States, citizens value their civil liberties and constitutional rights and don't appreciate submitting to unlawful seizure and search.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I agree with the two people above.
I would call a lawyer.
I've worked in retail for over 14 years and i know for a fact that it's not considered a theft until a person leaves the building without paying for it...they have to be out of the building before being aprehended.
misleading promo ad
Target ad states...
15% off any purchase of furniture over $125.00
Plus
Free shipping when purchase is over $50.00
I had gone online to shop this "great deal" and my subtotal came to about $239.00 - 15% = $199.00 and I had a $5.00 target coupon, so total should be $194.00 plus tax
I went to check out and my grand total was over $379.00
When I called they stated that the items I picked out (5 items total) were getting the 15% off, but the 2 desks did not qualify for the "free shipping"

apr
With these recent economic times I called Target to see about lowering my APR. I have been a good customer with Target and paid my bill on time. Upon contacting Target I was told that Target's policy was not to review anyones APR and that they would not readjust as per their policy. Upon speaking to a supervisor Sam I was told the same thing, no APR adjustment and he was the only supervisor there. When asked about speaking to someone in charge of him he told me there was no name or phone number for anyone just a P.O. Box for my letter to go into the complaint abyss. In these tough times we need companies that work with us not against us. This I feel is extemely poor business practice as well as dishonest. Save your money people...DO NOT OPEN A CREDIT LINE WITH TARGET.

Target National Bank is the worst. Month after month they reduce my credit limit. Pay off a thousand they reduce it to 20 dollars above limit without any notice or explanation. I bought the 'Revlon Expert Effect Nail Clip' at Target. They're touted as having an easy grip that won't slip. That part is fine - but unfortunately, they won't cut either! They just tear at the nail. My husband honed them with some specialized honing tools he has and they performed somewhat better - but still not as good as the cheapest available. It's only a matter of $2.99 - but such a dismal product shouldn't be sold.

abuse/overkill
In March 2009, I moved from Arizona to Florida. Somewhere in the chaos of packing/moving, the March statement for my Target Visa got misplaced. I was unaware of any problem with the account until I tried to use the card to pay a motel bill. The card was rejected. Upon my arrival at my destination, I went online to check into the problem. I had missed the March payment and was duly charged the $39 late fee. I have no problem with the fee.
This account has been open and active since March 1995 (13 years), with a $7, 000 credit limit. According to my three recent credit reports, there has never been a late payment on this account. For the past two (2) years, this account has been paid via electronic funds transfer (“EFT”) through my credit union. Once I was aware of the missed payment, I immediately made a substantial ($400) payment, again through EFT. Soon after this payment, I tried to use the card. It was rejected -- again. I called customer service (I use the term loosely) to find out what the problem was. It seems that a fourteen (14) day hold on my EFT payment (with funds in their possession) was deemed appropriate by management. According to customer service, they had to protect themselves! Target’s actions demonstrate the total callous disregard with which they operate and their abuse of responsible, long term, “valued” cardholders -- a $39 late fee, a fourteen day hold on my EFT payment and my credit limit was dropped from $7, 000 to $700 – this demonstrates to me just how valuable my account/business has been to them for the past thirteen years. TOTAL OVERKILL!
Obviously, these credit card companies have become so large that their everyday, responsible, bill-paying cardholders don’t matter to them – all management sees are more and higher fees and less time in which to pay! Too bad every single Target Visa (Red Card) account couldn’t be closed at the same time, immediately – where would they be then? Target needs to remember: “what goes around, comes around.” Your “bite in the ###” will come -- as did Mervyns. My account is now closed. This complaint will be posted on every website I can locate that speaks out about (Target) credit card abuse. I will never set foot in another Target store as long as I live and will urge others to do the same. Word of mouth, shabby treatment and abuse speak volumes. I will also inform everybody I meet not to open a credit card account with Target and, if they do, to be very wary of Target’s abusive credit card practices. I hope this information will help others to be informed and avoid Target’s or any other credit card’s abuse.

My complaint was that I used my Target card to purchase an American Airlines vacation . On the trip home I was hit by the back seat of an obese man . long story short Target visa said the services were provided and I had no recourse . I too have not shopped at Target since the customer no service . By the way Target is no longer issuing Visa cards and obviously wants everyone who has one to cancel, that is my opinion
I cancelled my Target Visa for the same reason...one missed payment (with a history of paying IN FULL EVERY MONTH, mind you), and they dropped my credit limit from $8, 500 to ... (drumroll, please) ... $200! Needless to say, I told them what they could do with their card and their lousy 10%-Off-A-Day-Of-Shopping "Rewards" program. And the kicker? I'm a *#^$ing Target employee (oh, pardon me...TEAM MEMBER...)
I am going through an issue with the Target National Bank myself. I will never go to Target again. I am encouraging everyone to take your business elsewhere .
Their customer service stinks and their common consideration for their customers is non-existent!
pa sales tax on medications
On 4/25/09, I purchased a bottle of 90 count Loratadine antihistamine ($19.59). The item was subjected to the 6% state sales tax, even though the PA Department of Revenue web site clearly states: "The (sales) tax is not imposed on prescription or nonprescription medicines and drugs..." When I asked Target management about this and told them that the nearby...

About time the Government stepped in on these credit card company thieves. I paid off a Target credit card (89.00) and closed the account last year. A month after the payoff they sent me a $39.00 late fee saying the payment came one day late. The due date was on a Sunday and they cashed it on Monday. They continue adding 39 dollar monthly late fees and interest. That payment was mailed in plenty of time for them to recieve it by Friday. We think they deliberatly held it until monday because we closed our account.
Although the account has been charged off and my credit blemished, they and thier credit collector agencies continue to call. I have over 600 logged calls and 50 mailings attempting to collect this bill. Its no wonder the banks are in trouble. How much time and effort do you spend trying to collect 39.00 bogus debt. As far as we are concerned they will get the money and see us in thier store “When Hell freezes over”

I purchased a 32'' Trutech LCD two months ago and it is now broke. The standby light turns on but the television never actually turns on. Since I live in an apartment I was unable to keep the 32'' box, which is required to return the 32'' massive piece of junk. I think that target sells crap and I refuse to give them any more of my business. Additionally, I have started a petition among friends and around one hundred people have committed to not shopping at Target. Trutech is a worthless brand that's cheap pricing will entice frugal consumer, but ultimately is heap of junk. The Trutech television is a terd. Beware of the polished terd that Target is passing off as quality at a reasonable price.
I bought a 19 inch LCD TV from Target that in 5 months the DVD player quit working. The brand was Trutech. I could not return the TV because I lost my receipt. The TV was $479 w/ the DVD player. This really made me mad especially after I bought a separate DVD player also a Trutech. This separate DVD player quit working after 7 months. Trutech sells crap merchandise and won't do anything about there products being complete crap. A Target employee told me this is a occurring event with Trutech so Trutech has to know there product is [censored]!
Bought a Trutech tv at Target during a Christmas promotion. The remote started skipping channels a couple of months after we got it, but that was only a minor annoyance. The TV quit working completely after about 14 months. Not a good brand at all.
There's two sides to every story, and I find yours to be very unrealistic. Did you not have the reciept? Did you even TRY contacting Trutec's customer support? I've provided the link to them below so you don't burn out any more of the precious few brain cells you have left:
http://www.1800customersupport.com/request.aspx
Next time, shell out a few more bucks for a brand name.
I want to sign this petition, because the same thing happened to me! I had a Trutech DVD / television combo that broke in roughly five months.
returns
Tonight I went to my local Target, intending on returning some unneeded items. In the past two weeks, I have spent around $600 at this and one other Target. The amount of the total return was $130. It included several different items such as some Tag reading books and extra cleaning items. Now, I shop regularly at Target. I am aware that the back of the...
Read full review of Target and 3 commentsdouble charged on red card, and credit limit reduced
Double charged, credit limit reduced to laughable rate, and poor excuse for inappropriate actions taken by Target RedCard (Target National Bank). And please note, this was all for a double charge that was under $100.00.
Signed up with Target RedCard about 2 and a half years ago. Recently I received a phone call from a collector that I had an outstanding fee that had not been paid in over two months. I am on e-notification, so there was no mail notification, and for some reason, after over a year of being on e-notification, I do not receive the e-notifications.
It is over 2 months later I receive a phone call from a collector asking about the bill, and I explain that I never received notification in the first place. What is more surprising is that I check my payments history from my bank and I had already paid the bill about half a month early.
So I was double charged, and to top it off they decided to reduce my credit limit to under 1000. So not only did they steal money, they lowered my limit and messed with my credit to debt ratio. And I might add that the amount that I really didnt owe was under $100.00.
Steer clear of using this credit card.

double payment required in 1 month
I rec a statement for a payment due on march 1, I had to call about reversing a charge and was told that another payment is due by march 29. Although feb. Has 28 days, I fell as though they should have made some kind of adjustment re payment due. I have not received a new statement re the second pymt for march. This is how they will get you for more fees (Late). I am glad that I called them otherwise I would not have been aware of another pymt due. Forget trying to reach someone on the corporate side, there are no numbers for consumers to reach anyone except cust. Serv. (3 calls were ans.In india) I am cutting my card.

overcharged
At Christmas time I went to into Target where they talked me into applying for the RedCard. At the time I had in hand two prepaid Visa Cards from work (gift cards). I was purchasing a few gifts one being a printer. At checkout time, the girl rang up the printer and was about to ring up the smaller items when she said I could not use my prepaid gift cards along with the Redcard 10% off promotion.
I told her no way, I wanted to use my gift cards, obviously! She did not know what to do so she had to go get help to back off the charge and they were all confused on how to do it.
So finally we thought they had it all figured out and they rang up the printer along with the other items and I paid for them with my two gift cards leaving a small balance on one of them. I never thought anything of it until...
February 20 or thereabouts I receive a bill. Not only is it charging me for the printer, which I paid with on my cash gift card but it is also charging me late fees for not paying on a previous statement of which I never received-I also never received the RedCard.
When I called Target about this they stated that they indeed had sent the card to the wrong address but said they had sent the statement to the corrected address. Which I doubt as I did not receive it or I would been able to catch this erroneous error at that time.
They are saying because it is over 30 days they cannot go back to video to watch the transaction and are trying to say that I purchased a printer on the Target card at 8:46 PM then went back into the store and purchased another printer along with other items at 9:13 PM. The time lapse is because the checker (s) didn't apparently know how to back out the original charge.
I am disputing it with them but I was told that because of the time lapse and being over 30 days (because I never rec'd a statement prior to Feb) I would probably have to pay the charges. This printer is not worth twice what I paid plus the 29.00 late fee that I am not responsible because they sent all information to the wrong address.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Over a year ago I set up automatic payments on target.com for three months. after the second payment plan i notice that my bill included late fees, so I called target and they stated that they never received a payment and that there system didn't show an automatic payment online. So I believed them thinking it might of been user error but after the second time that I received a late payment I knew something was wrong. Again I called and again I receive horrible customer service with hang ups reps being rude and of course I being the cause of error on why I received two late fees.
After many phone calls and many transfers I talk to a technical rep that helped me out with paying my late payment of 2 months and finding the reason why my payments weren't going through; There system wasn't accepting my bank routing number and they had to put it in themselves in order for it to work. Since the issue was targets fault I asked for them to credit the late fees and to also write in that this issue was theres so that my credit score wouldn't fall. It did I wrote into all of the credit companies and they couldn't fix the issue, so now i am screwed on my score with 3 late payments and a canceled account that was canceled by target without my consent.
I received a little notice from Target National Bank informing me that they were going to raise my rate to 18.9. It has been 15.9. Now this may not seem like much but it is for no reason at all. I have always paid on time...never ever late. I have always paid over the minimum. I am writing this to inform others to check their interest rates. I have written them a letter opting out of their new rate and closing my account. I despise sneaky, underhanded practices which punish those of us that bust our tails to pay their bills on time.
Target sucks, first some # that operates their website, let it get hacked, now I have to enter 5 yes 5 freaking security questions.. wtf 5 come on, one your incompetent people cant do their job, fired that person or persons, then some educated idiot, woke up one morning thinking, I will raise all redcard holder, I mean all... what a dumbazz i'm done with you target, I could have seen this from walmart but from target... I hope target has to file for bankruptcy.. the ceo's jet crashes, and what other evil things that can happen, just like target chit on all their customers...
I had applied for an target card and to my suprise the bank raise my credit limit up to 300.00 more dollars. I stated to the woman that I never gave permission to have my credit limit increase and she stated that but I was making my payment on time then thats why they raise it. I then told her to lower my credit limit back to where it was and she stated that once I make an payment then to contact them back and we could lower the credit limit back to where it was. to my suprise it did not happen and I receive an statement in the mail for over 800.00 in fees.
The Target National bank want to increase the APR and cash advance, they dont care people have excellent credit, that is not fair, If somebody have this credit card with Target National bank Please cancel, they want take our money, that economic is very bad for us give money to that bank right now. This is ABUSE
refusing to fill a prescription
I am a 60 year old woman who suffers from a lot of pain due to fibromyalgia, and am treated by a Dr. in Orlando, once a month, which is 100 miles round trip. I have had many of my prescriptions filled at the Target store on Merritt Island for quite a few years.
I have always filled my prescription for pain medication at the Merritt Island store with no problem, because they take my insurance, and have always given great service, and always had the medication in stock.
About 6 months ago, they refused to fill my prescription, because it was from Orlando, and told me they would no longer fill any prescriptions from Orlando, because apparently someone attempted to pass a fraudulant prescription for pain medication in our county. I understand the major problem with pain meds, and fraudulent prescriptions in this country, but why punish the honest hard working people, who have intense pain, legitimate Dr's and prescriptions? My sister who also suffers from Fibromyalgia, is in the same situation that I am in, , and she is on disability.
So because of that incident, , they refused to fill my prescription anymore, , even though I have filled my pain medication there for over a year, , and I am on file as a regular customer. I could understand if they refuse to accept any future prescriptions from the Orlando area, but to deprive me, a regular customer, seems unfair.
So now because of this, I have to drive all over Orlando, a city I am unfamiliar with, , trying to find a pharmacy who accepts my insurance, and will fill my meds. One day I spent 6 hours trying to fill my prescription, which is very painful to be in a car that long. If I can't find a store that has the entire amount, I am forced to take a partial order, and drive back to Orlando, another 100 miles to pick up the remaining order when they come in.
I don't know if this is Target's nation wide regulation, or if the Merritt Island store has taken this on as their own rule.
I couldn't get anywhere with the pharmacists in the Merritt Island store, can you help me? P. Wilkin [protected]@aol.com

silly
Much as I hate Tarbutt I have to wonder why you don't fill the script at one of the Tarbutt stores in Orlando before you drive home. I also wonder why you don't find a doctor closer than going 50 miles.

discrimination
Today I went into a Target store to purchase several things one of which was a game for my daughter. When I arrived in electronics there were also two other laters their waiting to be helped. One of them looked for a sale associate and when he arrived he opened the case to get them a Wii Game and handed it to them. I asked him if he could help me and he opened another case for the Nintendo DS games. After looking at one, my daughter decided to get a Super Mario game. The sales associate held onto the game and then asked me if I would like to pay for it now or if I had some more shopping to do? I told him that I had some more shopping and he told me that I would have to pick it up at "Guest Services." I said, "I have to walk up to guest services and pick it up?" He told me that I could just go to the checkout stand and tell them that I needed it.
After this I looked at my oldest daughter and she looked said. We are African American and I can honestly say that this is the first time my 13 year old daughter has seen this type of behavior. I am saddened that I had to explain this to her and tell her that this does still exist. I wrote a complaint on a card but will this happen to someone else? And what was the reason that this little kid felt I needed to be treated like this?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
This is exactly the reason why people become racist. It seems that more often than not, minorities jump to racism as an excuse to be pissed off before they ask someone why this happened. If you were that concerned, you should've asked to speak with the store manager. This is what the store manager would say:
It is policy to ensure that no one walks around the store with an unpaid for item that has been locked up. This includes game consoles, iPods, games, and some gaming accessories. If the sales associate just handed you the game and let you walk around with it while you continued to shop, what would be the point in locking it up in the first place? It must be purchased at the time of unlocking it or it must be kept under the supervision of an employee. The only reason the guy handed the game to the other person is because more than likely the other person already told the guy that he wanted to purchase the game right away. So you need to shut your mouth and stop calling people racist when they're not, because it's ### like this that makes others racist. It's called reverse racism.
As an employee of Target, I can say with confidence thee employee was probably not discriminating against you because of your race, it's actually store policy to make sure electronics that are locked up are payed for at the electronics boat. The electronics employee is also req'd to notify the GSTL (mngr at cash registers) when a TV is being taken up and whether the customer payed for it or not.
It's not uncommon to find empty electronics game/DVD cases in other areas of the store. They're items that are of high value and are stolen very often.
